Icon Intense

Got this from fragranceX as an experiment to see if they're a scam or not, lol...got this 125ml massive bird bottle for just over $25.00...what a find! Don't listen to reviews saying it's gross, it isn't. it's unusual! Great for the winter...had it 3 days and got 2 compliments(a girl and a guy) already. Bought it for the bottle, but I like it. Not love, because the opening is bizarre. Smells nice on clothes. This brand's spray button is great...it launches an enjoyable amount on(so the opposite of some of those difficult spicebomb or mugler bottles) Meanwhile, speaking of mugler, this has better longevity than both of the last 2 muglers I've bought(pure malt, pure havane) and is $80.00 cheaper...and smells better and has better longevity than the last Hermes I got(Concentre d'orange verte)...so price means NOTHING.

Since Benzoin maybe it's what I smell, cedar wood?(sweet and woody. The spices cut through the sweetness making it perfect for me. Love the bottle and long lasting as most of Police fragrances.

I'm reviewing it again, because I'm so happy! This time I detect the bergamot, the spices, the benzoin vanillary sweetness, the powdery Orris, And well Amber, that I know get very well.

If Mont Blanc L'homme Exceptionnel didn't cut it for you then you're gonna be pleased with this . Sage bomb. Nuff said.

It is redundant to say that preferences are subjective. There are people who love the smell of their farts and others hate the smell of tuberose and roses. Therefore, any review it is valid. I bought this perfume blindly, it does not exist in the shops of my country (Argentina) and I think it is discontinued, on the page of the brand it does not appear anymore. Humbly, I must say that it was a very pleasant surprise from the first spray I sprayed on my neck and from that moment, every time it makes a cold temperature, it is my signature perfume. Kisses from Argentina.

It kind of grows on you... And there's some unspoken quality in it... Kind of reminds me of Old Spice from Shulton Company. Opens like a sage bomb, almost to harsh to your nose but after it drys down you get a confortable taste, a cozy and warm sensation that surrounds you. Projection is sensational, longevity excellent. I totaly blind bought this for the bottle and got a little disappointed first time I smell it... But after a while using it you kind of get the taste of it and begin to appreciate its nuances

this is an underrated fragrance. nice smell and above average projection. deserve more attention.

Perhaps because of the scent I was already wearing (Byblos Fusion EDP) when I pumped the sprayer a couple of times and then sprayed Police Icon Intense onto my hand I was immediately knocked back by how strong this scent is and the first thing that came to mind was Johnson's Baby Powder (+ sage) Intense!! One day later and I decided to give it a go as a daytime/office scent. Brave some might say.....inconsiderate perhaps the opinion from others? :o) Anyway sprayed one burst into the air and walked through it. That was 7.30 am this morning. It's now 2.30 pm and it is still blasting out its strong, spicy, oriental, Sage-Cardamom-Benzoin-Amber explosive powderiness. This is so so strong but having said that I have had neither complaints nor compliments.........I wonder if that means people are just choking in silence and being polite. ;o) Joking (choking?) aside though I can't decide whether this is for me or not. I kinda like it because it is a bit different from the usual but it does also still have a medicinal 'cheapness' to it that withholds me. On the other hand I am not immediately boxing it back up and returning it to the seller either. I shall persevere with this one especially as we go into the cooler months of Autumn and Winter. [Edit: 28/09/2018] Ok. A couple more days in and I think I finally 'get it' with this one. The current ratings for the notes are pretty much spot on to what I can pick out as well. Benzoin, Clary Sage, Cardamom absolutely scream for the first 3 or so hours. During that time you also get a little dryness, I guess, from the Orris but its not detectable as a smell really. I don't get the White Cedar or Patchouli but in the far dry down (which is the best part of the scent) you have a faint echo of the opening with a tiny hint of the Pink Pepper but most notable are the Amber and Bergamot. The long and loud opening is the phase I can't get to liking and for one very good reason. The harsh bitterness still gives that baby powder-esque feel but then it hit me what it is that's putting me off - a pseudo-urinous chemical accord that you get from baby wet wipes. Fine if you're changing a nappy but hell no not something you'd want to be wearing as a fragrance. I have since asked colleagues and friends what they think and they have been up front yet diplomatic with comments like "..its definitely not your best frag" and "Great if you want to clear a room and have some 'you' time"....ouch. Yes it would seem that folks were indeed choking in silence after all. This will definitely be going to the back of the cupboard never to be seen again.

Never ever thought in my life that i would smell something so horrible... It gives me a big headache and everytime i smell it, i have a very strong feeling to puke (no joke). Smells like a dark "Terre d'Hermes" with notes of amber. Once again, well done "Police" ...

I have to be honest. It is one of the worst-smelling fragrances I've ever smelled. Not that it's uninspiring (it's unique) nor that it has a bad performance, but it just smells so bad, to the point that everyone around me (myself included) almost puked after spraying this thing, even for one spray. I just can't describe it. It is so pungent and off-putting.

I bought this one early on in my 'fragrance journey' a couple of years ago. However I returned it, the scent was just not for me at all!!! I didn't really know what to make of it at the time but I did recognise that it certainly wasn't of low quality. Fast forward a couple of years and now many other scents remind me of Police Icon Intense, a lot of those strong iris/orris fragrances, the ones with heavy sweet vanilla and/or amber/benzoin in the base notes. This is definitely in the same ballpark as stuff like Dior Homme Parfum (which I don't like at all!), Givenchy Gentleman (Intense?) EDP, the one in the black bottle (I actually don't mind that one) and perhaps a touch of Guerlain Shalimar EDP as has been suggested by others here. So yes, definitely an acquired taste, truth be told I was originally drawn in by the bottle as the black eagle kind of looks like a crow/raven, (if Police released a crow series I'd buy probably them all!). For anyone who likes the scents I mentioned or indeed any strong iris/orris & dark balsamic, floral vanilla fragrances, give it a try! If I could find a bottle again I'd give it another go myself! Stand out notes for me: orris/iris and benzoin.

This fragrance is verging on masterpiece! It opens slightly medicinally with a huge blast of sage and dry orris. Cardamom, pepper and a spicy vibe in general follow in behind, dragging a resinous wood behind them. Benzoin and amber in here makes for a sweetness which I find less vannillic and more like damp brown sugar, Muscovado. The whole effects creates a very incense type of scent to my nose which is both warm and inviting. Any patchouli and citric elements are played down but are both noticeable when you know what you are smelling for. Longevity is absolutely great, projection is strong and sillage is wonderful, leaving a trail that even the wearer can bump into if they are to walk in a circle! This fragrance is not spoken about enough and it should be. Get some and try it, you can buy it ridiculously inexpensively. It is deep, serious, sexy, different and unique as a designer fragrance. Okay I'm not supposed to be here, but am I the only one who thought the bottle looked like a trash bag from a preview? lol I even clicked on it to check but it turned out to be a cool eagle Nothing against the fragrance though! The fragrance and the bottle are both great, I'm just blind

The perfume smells just like Azzaro Elixir. Like a clone. Not a bad thing if you are into that kinda fragrances. It's warm and sweet.

Intense version already? I'm still waiting to get my hands on the original icon. Nowhere to be found in UK. Nice pr Police. NOT

Smells very similar in the dry down to black oud by Remy Latour. Nothing particularly amazing but quite nice.

An underrated fragrance. It has the DNA of Comme Des Gracons.
