Police Potion Arsenic For Her

Rich tonka almond-like drydown, oriental warm sweetness from the myrrh, a gorgeous herbal tobacco nuance with a surprisingly berry-grape sweet opening (almost like ripe plum), toned-down spicy warmth from the cinnamon, a cold lactonic vein and contrasting candy-green element that creates a poisonous impression. A complex scent that at first appeared linear and simple on my skin. Nothing sharp or obnoxiously spicy. Smooth candy-sweet yet sophisticated. Surprisingly nothing nauseating despite the contrast of the green poison effect and the very milky coconut. Projection and performance are amazing. Tonka's magic is how it allows a sweet scent to give a "cold" sensation without adding too much warmth to it. To me it's in the same league as Katy Perry's Indi being very green too and quite 'cold', VS Tease Heartbreaker being tonka rich & green or VS Private Sundeck mist - tonka pineapple - a warmer tonka, but they're all different scents from this. Potion Arsenic has elements of various statement perfumes, but its own identity. After 2-3 hrs it reminds me of Indi's tonka & sweet-plum mixed with a tobacco infused (coffee-free) Black Opium EDP, due to their sweet patchouli-spicy almond vibe and their woody base. Let me say that this flanker is my favorite and it has become a new favorite scent in general because I LOVE such unique rich tobacco scents. I go crazy for anything balsamic, tonka, herbal, and almond-like (I also love it in Katy's Indi Visible a warmer tonka-rum scent - coconut there too). I was wearing BBW's Leaves body cream on my hands which smells like cinnamon-apple and it did pair well with the cinnamon here, however the cinnamon here is quite undetectable on my skin at first, till I wore this perfume enough and I was able to see how beautifully it blends with the coconut, a very unique combination I never thought of. This is quite a cold poisonous scent on my skin despite the warmth from the Myrrh, so the cinnamon here adds a slightly warm spicy element to it. When it's still wet on the skin, it smells like coconut milk with cinnamon, but quickly the coconut-orchid-tobacco combo develops and smells like grape on me, like a berry-grape scent. Similar berry effect I get from the coconut almond tonka benzoin in Tonic of Tonka for Tonkatonic Morph and they all like Potion Arsenic have a boozy-balsamic quality to them. The opening of this is like a deep (not powdery though) purple-like grape or purple berry scent on my skin. Very deep! Much much deeper than the jolly red berry-apple scent of the OG Potion. The coconut, tobacco and purple orchid notes along with the myrrh's resinous sweetness create this smooth and very deep candy grape-like scent on my skin that translates to purple, like the bottle. It is like a grape chapstick almost. I wouldn't have guessed there is coconut here. It could have been sweet plum or grape, but being so milky it's by the coconut paired with the tobacco I suspect. The tonka's richly sweet grassy tobacco-like quality pairs so well with the actual tobacco leaf note, intensifying the deep woody sweetness and it gives a nutty, almond-like touch to the scent at the later stages especially the drydown (almost like play doh at times). The ylang ylang here is not sour or "dirty floral" like it usually is (much like a better orange blossom) and it is not too solar like it is in Pure XS (coconut-ylang ylang). It elevates the scent to a more feminine floral type, because given the rich tobacco-tonka essence of it, this could be too dark & heavy without the playful purple sweetness of the orchid and the ylang ylang. The herbal, leafy quality of the tobacco leaf develops even more later on, it is realistic, reminiscent of the tobacco leaf I smell in Night Iris by KKW. It is present from the start with a warm vape-like rich scent that pairs well with the cold, lactonic coconut grape-like element. When the coconut subsides a bit, the tobacco leaf takes center stage and along with the spicy patchouli it gives a realistic tea-like or hay-like leafy scent (as I smell my skin). The patch spice is subtle - the fragrance remains smooth throughout. Tobacco leaf can have a whiskey boozy effect in a perfume and I get some of that here along with its herbal leafy effect. The patchouli adds an almost minty effect here at the middle phase which is lovely and pairs so well with the GREEN poison note and the spicy warmth of the cinnamon. On to that! The poison note as pictured here is indeed green to me in the scent, since there is instantly a green veil to the whole fragrance that so intensely contrasts the lactonic, deep grape-like coconut-orchid- tobacco scent which is the core of the fragrance. This unexpected contrast, the sweet purple element with the green poison gives the impression of a cold and sweet medicine tempting to drink, yet poisonous - brings images of the witch in Snow White grabbing her neck after she drinks the poison she made lol. The sweet green poison impression pairs well with the warm tonka's almond-y and tobacco-myrrh balsamic base. On a side note, I bought this due to its name "Arsenic" for $hits & giggles since my dogs and I survived arsenic poisoning twice back in 2016 (from Tyson & Poison chicken) with me having a mild form of aseptic meningitis and my dogs' back legs paralyzed for 24 hrs twice - polio-paralysis. It was scary. Similar to it is dua Tonic of Tonka being a beautiful solar tonka scent with a resinous sweetness and a candy-like freshness from the coconut and almond. The coconut - almond- tonka -benzoin- orange blossom- ambrette blend is reminiscent of the tonka- coconut - ylang ylang - myrrh of Police Potion Arsenic and they smell very similar, only the latter is more green and like grape with that milky cinnamon nuance at first. The fig gives a nice herbal hay-like vibe similar to the tobacco leaf in Potion Arsenic, while the coconut gives a berry-like impression. So I voted Morph Tonkatonic in the reminds me of which is the OG of dua's. A Christmas Gourmand by dua is also another similar one due to the tonka - cognac giving a similar to tobacco balsamic effect, the almond, berries and cinnamon plus the chocolate milk, so it's a chocolatey version of this, same league imo.

I tried Dua's A Christmas Gourmand and its later drydown smells like Potion Arsenic. It starts off differently though. The berries, amberwood, vanilla cream, brown sugar and the almondy tonka along with the boozy praline and cognac give a Police Potion Arsenic vibe at the later drydown like a balsamic tobacco myrrh berry scent. Potion Arsenic is very balsamic and the tonka, deep tobacco leaf note, the myrrh and cinnamon with the coconut produce a berry-like grape scent as I said in my first review, but it has a green nuance that A Christmas Gourmand doesn't have. They're still very similar. Perhaps the cognac gives that tobacco-like impression in A Christmas Gourmand. They both give subtle Black Opium vibes, but with intense balsamic resinous elements and an almond milky feel. A Christmas Gourmand becomes warmer than Potion Arsenic with more pronounced cinnamon spice similar to that of DUA Chilled Horchata. I hope they restock A Christmas Gourmand for those who didn't get to try it. It's one of the closest dupes for this. Potion Arsenic is one of my favorite scents. It's darker than Poison Girl btw, I don't see much resemblance.

A few years back, early on in my collecting, I got all of the female Police Potions, because I think the bottles are very fun, and to this day this is the one that I've really come to love. The other two are both sweet, fruity and floral, but this one has a bitterness that gives it depth and beauty. There's a strong scent of almond, I suppose it's the "poison" note, maybe it should be called Cyanide instead of Arsenic. I remember not liking this when I first got it, probably because it was more unique than I was used to, but it grew on me quick and I haven't found anything like it since. Another thing this has on the other two is a sense of sofistication. The whole collection is young and playful, as hinted to by the bottle design, but this is the one out of the three that I can see not being too fitted to young people and be more appealing to an older audience.

What a discovery! I have only just opened the package and sprayed this on 1 hour ago so i need more time with it for a full proper review but OMG I have a 175 bottle collection (not counting the 20-30 i have decluttered) and this is special! This smells divine! So unique!! Unlike anything I’ve ever smelled before even though by description it will sound like many things Creamy coconut, a warm? Balsamic, vanillic, sweet, slight anise or licorice, slightly boozy, slightly zingy, tangy, deep, rich, almonds, sensuous, woody. Just amazing! The bottle is cute but cartoony. It isn’t plastic or anything but the style makes it look cheap (and the price) but the scent smells like an expensive niche $400 perfume bottle! Holy cow!

This is interesting. I like this whole Potion-line , the performance is reasonable and considering the price, Arsenic is also a scent that I like to spray more. The elements of the fragrance are heavy, but the scent itself is light. I don't know how else to explain that. Sillage is pleasantly low for summer, but consists of such notes as bitter almond kind tonka or "poison"is a pretty apt expression....I even think of some green bitter niche scents, which Police would have tuned to be more user-friendly and crowd-pleasing. Definitely worth a try.

Ok, this is a feminine fragrance for sure...but I love the hell out of it. I am a 40 year old man and I will wear this out to the bar(not a country/southern bar) for sure. The coconut and tonka are soft, the orchid isnt super floral and the tobacco doesn't scream at you. It's a nice, soft, sexy fragrance. if you're secure in your manhood and like things that smell nice... try it out. Think of it as a softer version of West Loop by Michael Malul.

I haven't tried Rolling in Love or Shaghaf Oud Tonka, but i own Sound of Donna, Poison Girl and Maboussin Mademoiselle twist. So Arsenic is definitely from the same scent family. It reminds me a little bit of all three, but more Sound of Donna and Poison Girl. Really nice scent! Definitely recommend it to people who enjoys this scent family. As per coconut note i haven't noticed it, so even if it's there it's not obvious.

I'll be honest; TikTok made me buy it. After seeing it listed often as a good buy for those that like strange notes. I caved. And I'm pleasantly surprised. It starts off strong with coconut and "arsenic" (I'd say the poison is more cyanide than arsenic) and dries down into a lovely almost leather, thanks to the tonka and patchouli. A strange little delight, and incredibly safe for blind buying

This smells really nice. I had forgotten what the notes were when it arrived so the coconut was a surprise. This is a fragrance where coconut is done well and smells more subtle and less synthetic. It's more in the background. The main scent I get is sort of a cherry marzipan type of smell. Similar to Shaghaf Oud Tonka but not as powdery, and much lighter. The dry down smells like sweet coconut baby powder. Longevity and sillage are moderate on clothes and skin. I'd probably buy this again just to have a warm coconut and cherry scent. I don't typically smell those together in a fragrance. I just realized this smells very similar to Brown Sugar and Fig from Bath and Body Works, except with an added cherry note. No wonder I like this so much, considering that is one of my favorite B&BW scents.

I really like this one. It is unique yet still has a familiarity to it. None of the perfumes in the "reminds me of" section quite tick the box for me. It does have a similar DNA to Shaghaf Oud Tonka, but if you add some Alien Goddess Intense you'd be much closer. I think 3 sprays Shaghaf Oud Tonka, 1 spray Alien Goddess Intense, and 1 spray of Guerlain La Petite Robe Noir Intense is a close as you may get.

I wanted to love this one and I still appreciate it but it didn't live up to my expectations. I think my nose really picks up on the poison note to where other notes get disrupted by it. I can smell the coconut and tonka next, but they get jumbled and lost. My sister and friend really loved this one though, so I gave it to my sister to wear. It's inoffensive but not up my alley.

I bought it because somebody said it was unique and weird and I wanted to try something different. It's a beast, one spray and I couldn't breath oxygen anymore, I tried to wash it away with difficulties. I wouldn't say it's weird nor unique, it's not bad either if only it was lighter, it would be very pleasant. A bit headache inducing to be honest.

You can expect a sweet‐spicy opening with coconut and cinnamon, followed by a floral‐oriental mid and a warm, resinous base of myrrh, patchouli, and tonka. The almond/“poison” accord gives it a slightly bitter, intriguing edge. It leans rich and warm, best suited for evenings or cooler weather.

No coconut, no cinnamon, no poison. Just generic male perfume. Yes, male smell. Not bad, but male. And so long lasting... And hard to scrub out. I wish it was feminine.
