To Be Born To Shine Men

I got it for my dad as a gift. Immediately I sensed the zesty mandarin and the leather so bold, deep and manly, reminiscent of the mandarin-leather accords of Hugo Boss Bottled Parfum (smelled them both to make sure it's not in my head) which he's almost out of and I was certain that they share notes, I guessed right. However this is fresher than the darker, more mysterious woody essence of Bottled Parfum. The cardamom lends the usual peppery-herbal element. The amber, lavender and leather add depth and make it very masculine. The mint creates an impressive aromatic and refreshing experience. The first thing my dad noticed is how manly it is and he loved how summery and fresh it smells. To me the lavender makes it appropriate for warm weather as it smells rather cold and deep paired with fresh notes. I don't know a lot about men's perfumes but I love lavender in perfumes like Korres Vetiver Root and our good old Libre, and the lavender makes them smell very summery. In Libre it smells like tanning lotion paired with the mandarin and petitgrain. In Vetiver Root it smells like tanning lotion too just manlier, paired with cardamom. Here the cardamom-lavender pairing likewise creates a similar but manlier tanning lotion vibe to my nose just as in Vetiver Root, and the cinnamon adds sweetness. Perfumers use various notes to emulate a tanning lotion scent (also Chopard Happy Spirit) and cardamom is another note they choose in formulations like Versace Crystal Noir (paired with coconut) and in TF Soleil Blanc (again cardamom coconut). Well here we have mandarin, lavender, cardamom. No you won't smell like tanning oil with this perfume, but it just adds a summery touch without being an aquatic scent. The patch at the base keeps its green minty character vibrant. I adore green scents more than anything. Projection is really good. I think it's a safe blind buy.

I got a tester (125 ml) at a bargain price, so there's no question that it was worth it. The scent is one of a kind with the Camouflage counterpart, only a bit more vanilla-y.

In Summary: Police To Be Born To Shine Release date: 2022 Perfumer unknown. Fragrance Classification (according to Fragrantica): Amber Fougere Top Notes: Apple, Mandarin Orange and Mint. Mid Notes: Cinnamon, Cardamom and Lavender. Base Notes: Leather, Amber and Patchouli. When I first saw the notes listing for this, I thought immediately of Paco Rabanne 1 Million. I looked it up on Fragrantica and the notes are close to identical. It’s been a long time since I smelled 1 Million but I have quite a good memory of it. When I first spray Born To Shine, I get an extremely similar opening to 1 Million but a bit drier and not as syrupy. It’s a bit more woody, has less emphasis on the orange and it has a distinctly synthetic aspect. I would put it at roughly 85% similar to 1 Million. Performance is fairly good. Projection seems quite strong and it definitely lasts. I put on about eight or so sprays (that’s a light application for me) at ten o’clock at night. The next morning, I could still smell it strongly even with morning nose. You can get this for £20 per 125ml at Savers in the UK. Decent, solid fragrance. (It will help a lot if you like 1 Million.)

To be Born To Shine by Police. This one is a cheapie. Unlike the classic To be Police, in my opinion this doens't smell synthetic. First smell and It immediately reminded me of apple with cinnamon. Altought, in my skin, after 10 minutes I could barely smell it anymore. Sillage is also very weak. Lastly, it says it's for men but it could be, in my opinion, perfect for unisex.

A great blind buy, it's pretty good and for the price it's a must try, I think the notes are nice but on my skin the dry down has a very slight but noticable lactic bitter note as an after scent, other than that it's great but I prefer To be tattoo art and To be bad boy over this

I love this fragrance from Police, it smells very similar to the Hugo Boss Bottled EDP for men but much cheaper of course and it lasts the entire day on me, this is a great cheap fragrance that you can wear everyday, and since it's quite sweet it's more of a unisex fragrance.

was a blind buy and wasn't too disappointed. is definitely very masculine but not too offensive. strong and pleasant on the skin. i only have one other police cologne so not much to compare with but also does not stand out too much from some of my other more musky scents.

Smells very sweet. Both men and women can wear this (feminine men and masculine women). Lasts 6 hours on my skin, afterwards it disappears completely. Good fragrance but not the best from the To Be line.

i hate 1 Million and i like this one. the sweetness is acceptable and the fragrance is not that loud. more a delicate one, on the feminine side a bit. interresting release. 7/10

recently bought (march 2023) at sasa aeon for rm180 125ml (promotion). my honest review this perfume is not performing well. nice opening, sweet and light. my daughter and wife loves it BUT it just skin scent. i had tried it morning to evening, evening to night and night only. if u are in cool environment like malls or office, i can say it just stay at your skin for about 2-3 hours. but if u are outdoor, little sweat then it will disappear like a cheap perfume. with 80% vol i think this is just a waste to buy. not even can smell at about 2 meter from u. the worst if u are heavy sweating. i will not buy anything new brand perfume after this. i will just stick to what i think best from the past i had bought. for me this vs jpg le male then its better le male.

Smells just like Mont Blanc Legend Spirit to me. A blind buy to get free delivery in my cart pleasantly surprised. I did end up selling this one on. Not because it’s terrible I just never reached for it. More of a teenage vibe to the scent profile.

Blind bought literally only because I thought the bottle looked cool and it was cheap, not a bad blind buy at all. Great summer scent and doesn't smell very authentic. Got me plenty of compliments my first time wearing
