Heat Wave

Different from the “Mirages” labeled versions, these gorgeous fragrances from the Olfactories line seem to focus more on the “brighter” and more of the florals side. This was an impulsive purchase since I just decided to buy it based on the notes break down on here but I glad I did it. THE LOOK: 10/10 Out-standingly thick, (really) heavy glass bottle with blue leather name tag. Plus, magnetic cap covered with black leather! Stunning! THE SCENT: 8.5/10 One of the realest, most authentic scents of jasmine and tuberose I’ve smelled! I normally don’t gravitate towards white florals in fragrance but I’m in love with flowers in reality. And the floral notes in here are so REAL! I also see the “indolic” aspect of jasmine, it doesn’t give off as strong as other jasmine-predominant fragrances but the more I wear it, the more slightly that vibe comes out, not that unpleasant but just a slight touch. I actually appreciate this perfume even more cause jasmine is naturally indolic. Bravo, Daniela! Opening: beautiful, sharp, sweet and predominant jasmine with a touch of creaminess. A slight freshness from the citrus really prevents the whole composition from being cloying or “too girly”. I don’t see tuberose on the pyramid but for sure there is tuberose or perhaps the combination of ylang ylang, jasmine and coconut does give off the tuberose vibe. After 15 minute, the “tuberose scent” really takes the lead and spreads out all the characteristics that you expect from tuberose: sweet, creamy, clean, bright, angelic, etc. just really pretty in general. I’m not completely sure about this, however, I do pick up a bit “tea” from this fragrance. Not a strong, dark tea, more of a hint of it, just mildly appears then disappears. Some suspect that artemisia is this “tea” but since I’ve never smelled it so, I leave it there for you guys to decide. Gradually the tuberose tones down and the jasmine somehow reappears (it’s always there but less “in your face” like in the Opening), and the scent loses its strength a bit, or I may say it projects less. In this phrase I can witness the coconut, vanilla and benzoin, not that super sweet, fat, creamy coconut and benzoin combo like usual, but a bit softer, lighter nuance. Not sure about Ylang Ylang in this, I’m familiar with Ylang Ylang since I do have some in my garden but I do not see the strong, fragrant yellow flower here, perhaps, it more likely to be a contribution to the whole scent as a “fatty” component. The scent in overall really takes me to an exotic tropical island covered with white florals and, of course, in summer setting. This would be amazing in the summer and perhaps spring. Daytime would be a great time to wear it but It will work at night as well. I would avoid fall and winter since the name of it tells it all, “Heat Wave” Very pretty, elegant and somehow intoxicating scent, sweet, creamy, fresh, elegant, bright, comforting (unless you hate white florals), these adjectives are all I can use for this creation. I just wish it lasts longer on my skin since I absolutely adore this beauty. PROJECTION: 7/10 Super strong in the opening but weaken after 15-30 minutes. It stays relatively close to the skin after an hour but you definitely can feel it, and people who stand/sit next to you can smell it as well LONGEVITY: 6/10 4-6 hours on my skin (mostly about 4 hours), for sure it works better on clothes, I sprayed it once on clothes and I got around 7-8 hours THE PRICE: 6.5/10 $300 for 100ml but I found a great tester for 1/3 the price. I would not pay full retail for it since $300 is too much for a perfume that does not last all day though I do love it UPDATE: I was a bit wrong about the longevity. As becoming a skin scent (after 2-3 hours), it lingers on my skin for 6-7 hours, today I got 9 hours in total.

Oh, my Lord this is delicious! Why would this beauty be discontinued? Seriously! WHY? So, they can release that horrid Paradoxa?! This is a million and one times better than that awful mess. I don't know what night blooming cereus smells like but if that is the flower that is making this perfume extremely creamy and then perfumers should use it more. And if it is the note that is really making the ylang-ylang pop off the charts then use it more. The coconut here is like real coconut and not suntan lotion. The jasmine in here adds a slight animalic touch. This is fleshy, creamy, tropical, sultry, womanly. This would be the perfect perfume to take on an island holiday vacation. It is noticeable w/out being loud like some tropical perfumes can be. If all suntan lotions smelled like this, they would fly off the shelves. Why can't they make suntan lotion/SPF smell like this? This is sweet but not overly sweet like so many perfumes are today. I'm wearing one today that while I like it I would say it is overly sweet. That is the trend. I personally would prefer all tropical florals smell along Heatwave's line. It is more about the sultry creaminess of flowers, warmed by sultry and humid evenings on a tropical island paradise. Wear this perfume even in the dead of winter and you will BELIEVE you are there. Absolutely the best tropical floral I have ever smelled.

Absolutely love this. Received this with a bunch of other perfumes as a birthday gift, and while I haven't gotten around to testing them all yet, out of those I did this is hands down my favorite. The combination of citrus, floral notes, with Jasmine, ylang, and Cereus the most prominent, (reminds me of the Cereus note in Alien Flora Futura), and a light, slightly meaty, slightly sweet coconut, is a fantastic combination. I love the way the citrus, artemisia, and spiciness from orange blossom (not listed in the notes), offset the sweetness of the coconut preventing the scent from being cloying. It all works seamlessly together accentuating the floral notes beautifully. The benzoin adds a little creaminess and a vanilla accord, though so slight it is barely perceptible. This is nothing like the majority of syrupy sweet, coconut, vanilla, tropical sunscreen bombs out there. It is gorgeously blended into a sheer, very sophisticated and polished fragrance. And let me tell you that this performs spectacularly. Gorgeous surrounding silage that lasts until you wash it off. Though I know this is an expensive frag, the clear quality justifies the price. It is well worth every penny. If you like all the notes and have an opportunity to try this, do it, as you might love this as much as I do right now.

I really feel that the name of this beauty is misleading. I associate heatwave with something that has to do with vetiver, citrus, pineapple, or marine scent. This thought kept me from trying out this perfume. Never in my mind suspecting that this would be a gorgeous jasmine offering. It does begin with the zest of citrus that brings us to the shore, but it quickly subdued by the creamy jasmine (thanks to ylang ylang) which is quite indolic. I have no idea how night blooming cereus smells, so I dont know the kind of contribution that it gives to the overall composition. The coconut appears later, and to me it gives a scrumptious facet, that has the same vibe as Molinard Tubereuse Vertigineuse, when paired up with the indolic of the jasmine, it creates an itching sensation in my nose (in a good way). Because of this olfactory experience, I conclude that Prada's Heat Wave is taking me to a casual cafe in the shade next to the bushes in the blistering beach sun. The whiff of white floral is there, you're sipping a coconut mocktail while wearing a hat and sunglasses, taking shelter from the heat, while watching people playing on the sand at a beach. Love it.

Oh myyyyy. Heat Wave is insanely gorgeous. But firstly, the jasmine in here is NOT indolic - go test Lush Lust or Sammarco's Alter and then we can talk about "indolic". I also don't find this jasmine dominant; I am definitely getting Ylang-Ylang up front with Cereus, only jasmine in the background for support. There's an underlying creamy vanilla-coconut warmth, and the citrus is very minimal which all but disappears after the opening. I am not into tropical scents by any stretch, but this won me over. The way it slowly develops in sweet, subtle layers is impressive... it just radiates with solar energy. It's elegant beach vacation, bright yellow sun, salty breeze, hot sand, tropical vanilla floral... all of that, and without smelling like generic sunscreen. Heat Wave is a high-quality summer scent, and if there is any single tropical fragrance I want, it's this!

Smooth, warm, and sensual. Intimate. Like warm skin at night after a long day spent in the sun. Like drifts of white sand after dark, still warm and silky smooth underfoot as you carry your sandals up the beach. The banana-bubblegum sweetness of ylang-ylang can sometimes be overwhelming, but here it's subtle, and blended to perfection with the soft balsamic warmth of the benzoin and the smooth nuttiness of the coconut. Heat Wave is clean and light, yet supple and warm. Like the feeling of the night air in summer when it's just barely warmer than skin temperature; a perfect, weightless caress.

Sour white floral... This is a coconutty oily sour white floral. I first got the burst of jasmines on top note with touch of artemisia, then settles to ylang lemon artemisia coconut mix in a white floral frame! I personally loved the top and bottom notes besides the journey from the beginning to the base note. I believe this leans towards the feminine side although i don't support the female, male labelling blends! but after all, this is one FINE beautiful creation indeed. Beautiful

This jasmine scent is very sharp and white right off the bat, then this really pretty smooth balminess comes up which changes jasmine into something closer to orange blossom and subtle vanilla. It does not turn powdery or soapy like other jasmine florals do. This is very pretty, ladylike, and uncomplicated.

- Perfect fragrance for summer. Smells like a holiday fragrance but one you can wear all summer day or night. It smells of uplifted and rounded tropical florals blended in a transparent very wearable way. I think this would make a great casual, everyday scent.

Wow, that's a strong floral opening!! Huge amounts of ylang-ylang and what I presume is cereus (it's almost lily-like?). Jasmine leaps in there too, but doesn't overpower, and isn't too indolic. In the [warm] crook of my elbow the lemon comes through (for about ten minutes), but never appears on the [cool] back of my hand. It's got a powdery quality to it, possibly from the artemisia, and makes me wonder if this would be better suited to cool weather as opposed to a hot and humid day like today. The benzoin is faint, adding a slightly creaminess, and the vanilla is only noticable if you go searching for it. The coconut is more pronounced, and is the overly-synthetic type that I don't enjoy. Interestingly, although it's a very flower-forward scent, I wouldn't really say it leans too far "feminine", and I think this would be really nice on a guy. It's a unique scent in my collection, and I can't recall smelling anything similar. This was a free (dabber) sample with an order, and not a perfume that I probably would have picked myself. I will try it again in the fall, update my review, and hopefully I shall like it better then. ***UPDATE*** Tried this again, on a cool fall day, and feel the same about it. Slightly less powdery, but hugely dominated by ylang-ylang + a lily-ish scent. I smell no coconut smell whatsoever, although I do get a 'fatty' feeling from it (like when you smell a can of coconut cream), if that makes sense? Citrus is very far in the background.

I’ve not had much experience with Prada fragrances, aside from candy and A few versions of that like we all have, so in a swap I thought yeah I’ll try this out something different that I normally would never pick up or even look at in a store .....turns out there’s a reason why I don’t -I CAN NOT STAND IT!!! Lol omg it’s so gross! I mean, if you like it that’s great, maybe I’m just to plain for something so complex, either way it’s a hard pass and a ick ick ick

The first test was probably my last use of this fragrance. First, I do not like jasmine, and it is into your face jasmine: juicy, indolic, poisonous. The second reason is the undernote of urine: not sure where it is coming from, but it is not indole from jasmine. However, I normally like perfumes with twist: clean+dirty, fresh+thick etc. It might be an interesting catch for jasmine lovers.

This perfume is so strange to me, it has all the same notes as my holy grail perfume (Miranda by Fragonard, devastatingly discontinued) but it smells nothing like that magical holiday, coconut and vanilla cream cloud. This smells... niche. Sharp. And a little off, but in a purposeful way like a cheese room. Not for me.

I tasted for 3 times at the shop, remind me of the fresh pink lily blooming in my nose. I really really love it but at the middle note I really smell like a coconut and yes in Thailand coconut scent make me feel not good enough and boring, but it was still one of my favorite but the price is not good for me, I will buy it for sure if I have more money to pay for this because the top note is my everything! Update on 25 March 2021: I cannot stop thinking about this scent, so I back to the store to buy it and yes...it already sold out, so I bought it via online website and yes! I have it already and I fell in love with this scent sooooo much!!!

A warm jasmine breeze as the sun sets this reminds me of rather than a really hot day. Coconut is there but not overpowering, like a fading sunscreen from earlier in the day. A bit of dove like soap is in the background. Nice this, but it's firmly a feminine fragrance so not for me, but if you like jasmine a lot you'll likely really enjoy this.

The name is very appealing. I like the bottle and color of the liquid. I'm sure it's a nice perfume and I'm pretty sure I'd like it very well. How e v e r....I feel it could be a teensy bit overpriced.

A simple jasmine scent thats light but very sweet. Really sweet jasmine can be a hit or miss, and unfortunately this one misses. Just not interesting enough. Pass.

On my skin, the jasmine was pronounced. I am not always a big fan of jasmine, but i would wear this scent. Well done, PRADA.
