Infusion de Vanille

Brought (22W31C1, made in France) I blind buy this because I came across the great deal. I notice the Vanilla and Powdery note at first I think something like musk fragrance but instead powdery vanilla. (Sort of Allure Homme Blanche). Oh boy, how much can I be wrong? This is still very same with other soapy Prada (Iris, Iris cedre). But it doesn't smell pierced, like Iris base. Instead, it is a very soft but strong Semi-yellow/White floral soapy fragrance. It opens with citrus for a minute then it becomes strong creamy soap (not very sweet). With Vanilla nuance, vanilla is not sweet but definitely vanilla. what I pick-up next is Semi-yellow/White, I feel it is White Ylang Ylang. Almost mildly Frangipani but not. It is more White Ylang Ylang to my nose. That smoke note do add the soapiness it's not a dark smoke but more like White smoke add some dept. to the fragrance. As Time progress It's become more powdery than soapy. still have the soapy aspect. The Vanilla baby powder. Not bad, but not the best either. This fragrance dry down completely at 4 hours mark. Leaving totally powdery Vanilla (think of Cocoa in Dior Homme but it's vanilla instead). I really enjoy this, this is like 2nd Skin but creamy vanilla. I know this is a bit fictional but I think this is what Candor Faction in Divergent (I know it's a bad movie) would wear, very clean - neutral - minimal as possible. and I feel like I smell something like this in Soap before, you know the brand that age a bit. But I can't exactly pin-point. I will comeback here if I can finally remember. for now, I would rate this 9.5 / 10 - It is very Prada Infusion. And I finally figure it out... This smell like lite resort hotel ivory frangipani soap, the kind of OG 90’s scent. I think Vanille quite Similar to Iris, but instead of Citrus Luxury Hotel soap. Vanille is gentle, musky and relax. In early develope, this leans more soap skin, the freshly wash skin with hotel soap that feel fresh, soft floral and vanilla powdery, the is some fresh, lite aquatic quality (soft salty) that merge with white clean smoke and musk resulting in soapy like skin. The soft sweet syrup vanilla twine in scent. It soft sweet and relaxing. It’s predictable scent, as we walk into the best it lost soap quality and vanilla talcum, soft sweetness still remains. Slight animalic angelic enhance the scent gives enough musty feel. Smell like skin. It’s a CAMP scent, because it is more like experience encapsulated scent and I not sure rather anyone wants to smell like retro resort hotel. (The one with a lot of wood and sea breeze) but it’s nice. I still gives my nice score at 9.5/10 because it evokes something, at least for me. I want to smell like resort hotel soap. It’s bizarrely relaxing. 🙂

This is such a difficult review for me to write.... I am not a lover of vanilla perfumes, so I have no idea what inspired me to impulse buy this at the mall one day. At least it was on sale. When I tried this at the mall, I picked up a citrusy clean scent with a tad of sweetness. By the time I got home with my new bottle, the smell had gotten bitter in a way that really confused me. I figured at worst I could use it as a linen spray. The store I'd picked it up at was liquidating- there was no chance of returning it. Thankfully, the mall spray was the only time I ever got the citrusy to bitter notes. My actual bottle did smell a little like rootbeer the first few times I sprayed it, which I didn't particularly mind, as I was spraying it on my blanket more than anything. But this is eternal on clothes. After the third day of wondering what that cozy warm scent was, I realized it was what this perfume had matured to on my blanket. It smells almost like vanilla milk, the only way I can describe it is as cozy. I dug up the bottle from where it had migrated to the back of my closet in the week since I'd acquired it, and started testing it out on myself. Yes, the root beer scent is still there at first sniff, but the vanilla quickly pushes through. This does remain a skin scent, but it stays warm and wonderful for at least 4 hours noticeably, and then up until hour 8 i can occasionally catch whispers of it. It does occasionally remind me of baby formula, but not in a bad way. This is truly a comforting scent. She doesn't demand attention, but she doesn't shy away from it either. She is like a reliable friend- and easy pick that can be worn absolutely anywhere. Edit: this has become my new signature scent. To me it smells like a baby, but its comforting and gets me compliments.

I have a weakness for dry vanilla scents, and Infusion de Vanille is an excellent example. Simple and linear, yet good-quality and with points of interest, it is addictive. There is a lovely citrus undertone to the vanilla, giving it a fruity-fresh lift. IdV is vanilla-dominant from initial spray, a sweet, powdery vanilla. The smoke note isn't particularly prominent, but it adds a nice dryness to the vanilla. Tart bergamot complements the dryness here. The vanilla becomes softly spicy as it develops. The neroli adds a lovely orange undertone as well as soft floral sweetness to the vanilla. The angelica is an inspired addition, adding subtle herbal greenness. It fades to a powdery, dry vanilla skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is transeasonal; a rare vanilla-dominant scent that works well in summer. Feminine-leaning in my opinion, the vanilla is rendered slightly edgy by the well-chosen complementary notes. The best vanilla I've encountered since Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille. 4.5/5.

After wearing this perfume almost daily for a year, I can confidently say that Infusion de Vanille by Prada has become my signature scent. The tart bergamot and smoky top notes beautifully develop into a photorealistic vanilla. Over time, the middle notes of neroli shine through, making the fragrance more floral and sweeter. Though not listed, I detect base notes of musk, leaving behind a musky skin scent with a sophisticated vanilla aftertaste. This is not a warm vanilla, which I personally love. I especially appreciate how almost bitter it is, thanks to the bergamot, smoke, and angelica. By the end of the day, the fragrance settles into a faintly sweet, almost sugary scent that reminds me of a kitchen after baking vanilla cakes. This sugary aroma develops more on my clothes, while on my skin, it leans towards a musky, herbal profile. It’s a more "grown-up" perfume, and I believe even those who dislike vanilla might enjoy it. One of my most favorite perfumes by a long shot.

Infusion de Vanille is unlike any vanilla I've ever smelled before, in the best way. I first tried her in a Sephora sampler set; the kind you get a voucher for a full size on. And of course, I'm a vanilla lover, so I knew I had to try this one. This is not your typical vanilla. This is a powdery, fairy-like masterpiece. I feel like a ballerina about to preform Swan Lake would wear this. If Swan Lake had a smell, it's this. I'm certain the angelica is what gives me the ballerina fairy-like vibes. Combined with the vanilla, and a light smokiness, it's very elegant. As it dries down, I feel that it gets a touch sweeter as the neroli mid and vanilla base starts to come through. Longevity and sillage are great, it will last you a good several hours and radiate around arm's length away. @GabbieSmithWindley is right, this definitely does smell like Angelique Noire and Vanille Insensee's lovechild.
