Luna Rossa Carbon Eau de Parfum

Not sure why this scent doesn't get more love. I think because people judge it so much based on being a follow up to the EDT version, and it smells so different from it. If it were its own standalone frag, which it could be, I think it would be viewed in a much more positive way. Personally, I absolutely love it! It has become one of, if not my favorite, anytime go to scent. The opening is clean, fresh, mineral, with a bit of spice. As it moves to its heart the mineral scent gets deeper along with a sort of darker sweetness that isn't overly cloying, with a nice clean woodiness coming in behind it. Eventually it dries down into a fresh wood, powdery, amber kinda combo. I find the performance to be very good. 2-3 sprays is plenty. I've worn it in the heat and didn't find it to be a problem at all, though I could see some people maybe not liking it quite as much in high humidity, but personally it didn't bother me. I haven't worn it in any truly cold weather yet, but the scent is strong and seems like it would have no problem cutting through the cold. It lasts a good 8 hours on my skin, and the sillage seems above average. Don't go into this frag with much expectation based on your experience with the EDT, but rather treat it as something completely new and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

A truly great addition to the line, and a balanced, high quality, extremely versatile blend. The naming choice though is odd, as it has nothing to do with the EDT, a different suffix would be much better. In fact, this is basically Luna Rossa Black - Day / Spring Edition. Or Luna Rossa Sport but richer and a bit naughtier. Also, much better and less polarizing than Le Male In Blue which is also anise-centric and multi-use targeted. It's super clean but not "fresh laundry" or "shower gel". It's smooth and classy but not boring. It projects without ever becoming distracting, it lasts long without tiring you out. You could wear it at any time, in any occasion apart from hot days or sports. The liquorice in the mid is fantastic and keeps popping out just enough to make this interesting without ever standing out, the cypress touch is great, everything just fits, I really can't find anything negative to say. And I can't stop sniffing myself. Performance is excellent, as the projection comes and goes for a few hours, and the skin scent is magnificent. A Luna Rossa Black replacement, as it is way more easy to wear and can still cover every scenario where LRB would be worn. Simple but magic. Another Daniela Andrier masterpiece.

The first thing you should know about Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Eau de Parfum is that it shares nothing in common with the Eau de Toilette. Suspiciously similar to Prada Luna Rossa Sport, just not as vibrant and upfront. Instead it unfolds in suspense. There are moments where I detect Armani Code DNA. Some may even say there are similarities to Gaultier Le Male or YSL La Nuit de L'homme Le Parfum and that perception makes sense as well. It doesn't surprise me at all that Sport was discontinued, as this is a much more refined and sophisticated revision of the Luna Rossa Sport scent profile. I am loving this dark, earthy, sweet, spicy aromatic. There is also a fresh facet present. Licorice being both sweet and complex does wonders for this fragrance. As far as I am concerned, performance is a 10, wearability is a 10 and longevity is most certainly a 10. There is nothing negative to report here. Unless of course you are seeking something new and groundbreaking. My only question is, why "Carbon EDP" if it bears no resemblance to the EDT? Final analysis: Luna Rossa Sport is to Luna Rossa Carbon EDP as Robin is to Nightwing. Same guy, more charisma.

Welcome back to Daniela Andrier, again to Prada and especially to the Luna Rossa line, after the horrendous Ocean (opinion and personal taste) you can see the hand and nose of someone who knows the seal of the house and that soapy, clean, neat DNA is here again, the perfume is not the most original thing in the world because at first impressions (buy it today) it is a mix between the first two Luna Rossa and a touch of LR Black, despite having the name Carbon, it is almost nothing or Nothing to the previous edt that was never really one of my favorites because it is a "Sauvage wanna be" although I must admit that I prefer it widely before the Dior, to the accords already mentioned of the previous perfumes(lavender, anis, tonka), here is added regalis that gives it a touch of sweet playful and distances it further from the "Le male" to bring it closer to the "Au Masculin" of Lolita Lempicka, but it really does not resemble either of them perfectly, it maintains the DNA of the line and the DNA of the line. Since Luna Rossa Black, no flakers on the line had liked it to the point of having it, and that one came with me immediately.

I was unsure about this one on release. Initially excited but slightly put off by reviews on here with people saying it's nothing like the original. Ive gone through 200ml of the EDT and it's still pretty much my signature scent. Now having tried the new EDP I have to say Im not disappointed. Like some people have mentioned this does a great job of ticking all the facet boxes, it's fresh, ambery, sweet, woody, spicy and aromatic without it leaning too much one way. This is a great 'hybrid' scent with strong performance and decent projection. The liquorice isn't too dominating either, it nestles nicely within the core scent and just every now and then let's you know it's there. I also feel amongst all that lies the DNA of the EDT and I do find myself picking it up when I smell my wrist. That fresh spicy mineral/industrial nuance that I loved in the original. Carbon EDP gets my approval.

First experience with it, the opening was unexpected and almost gourmand-like, but it dried down to remind me of Prada Luna Rossa Sport. I will try it again with hopes it isnt redundant to PLRS. I really enjoy the reformulated Carbon edt!! Edit: I have worn this 5 times now. This is a great flanker in the luna rossa line. Longevity is 10+hrs on SKIN. Starts off aromatic and the layers only add from there into the drydown. This still has that Prada CLEAN/Elegance that I love from the original luna rossa edt; It is just buried a little more than normal. Next day scent reminds me heavily of plrs. The licorice accord is unique. I wouldnt call this gourmand, rather aromatic-warm. Can be pulled off all year around. I will wear the edt way more, but the edp is IMPRESSIVE. This excites me because the entire Paradigme line is horrible for a man to attempt to wear, but fine for the ladies/fems

My gosh it’s a BANGER! Next signature for sure. This Carbon EDP really impressed me. It keeps the same clean, modern vibe from the original Carbon, but this time it’s smoother, richer, and more playful. It’s not metallic and it’s far from the Sauvage DNA — the lavender is more noticeable here, giving it a classy, modern freshness without going barbershop at all. And of course more green, but soapy clean. The texture is denser but still very wearable. It has more presence than the EDT, so you need to be careful with the sprays, but it stays office‐safe and elegant. The scent feels more enjoyable, more complex, and more “Prada going to the niche side” compared to the original. I was expecting something very safe, but Prada actually pushed this one forward. Clean, modern, slightly deeper, and surprisingly addictive. I loved it!

Beautiful, bright, almost zingy liquorice opening, joined a really soft, clean, well blended lavender towards the mid, then I get a nice, comforting, soft lavender joining in the dry down. The liquorice stays most of the way through, but not the black, confectionery liquorice, more of a bright, uplifting one. This is the Prada clean scent you would expect, soft, subtle, but beautifully done. This is absolutely nothing like Carbon EDT, or Sauvage EDT, or Sauvage Elixir. I’d say, although the scent is vastly different, it sits closer to Prada Black than to any other Prada, in the softness, almost powdery at times scent, but it’s still very different even to that. Longevity is really good, bright up top for a good 2 hours, then a settled bubble / skin scent for hours. Another really good release from Prada.

I’ve learned I’m a big fan of anything Daniella Andrier produces, the lone exception being Carbon EDT (I don’t like Sauvage, either.) Carbon EDP is going to redeem my opinion of the Carbon name. Wow. This is good. Where Prada went generic, sweet with Paradigme (which Andrier was absent for), they went pushed towards the niche area under the curve with Carbon EDP. Heck, they went outside the clean laundry lavender iris signature that defines her other Prada fragrances and replaced it...with licorice. I detest the taste of licorice candy but I’m finding it to be really tastefully used here. Should have called it Prada Black for the licorice but the name was taken. Oh well, I get the corporate decision to do the next best thing and leverage the Carbon name. I’m a Carbon fan now.

I have Carbon EDT on my right wrist and the new Carbon EDP on my left wrist. Very different and the EDP does not follow the EDT at all. Thats unusual. The EDT has this Sauvage like bite in the background. Love that about the EDT, it is what makes Carbon EDT different than LR Ocean. Now what I am getting with Carbon EDP is plain and simple - LR Ocean. It goes back to good old Ocean with NO Sauvage bite. If you love or like Ocean, you will love or like Carbon EDP, but if your looking for an enhanced Carbon EDT Sauvage bite, it is not here. I love the EDP because I love Ocean - but if you have Ocean, Carbon EDP is totally redundant. All seasons, day or night, to me Ocean is a 9.0 (Fragrantica 4.5) so that is how I rate Carbon EDP.

I picked this up at Ulta today. It really reminds me of Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin. It's not an exact copy, but it's really close. I have an old bottle of LLAM and I'll compare them later. I can also see the resemblance to Le Male, it might have some mint in it, and you definitely pick up the lavender. I have not given it a full wear yet, but I could smell it before I sprayed it, which is a good sign. I need to smell Le male Blue and see if they are similar. I actually love licorice in fragrance. I also have by Kilian l'heure Vert, 212 VIP Black and Sauvage Elixir.

So like this might be my shortest review on here at this point. Everyone says strong sillage, I say moderate, though it is definitely long lasting. Simply put, this smells like if you showered, sprayed on Le Male, then walked into the kitchen where there were syrup covered pancakes with orange juice next to them. Literally. It smells like Le Male, OJ, and syruppy pancakes. Lol. In the best way. I actually really enjoy this one, but more for me its finding occasion to wear it. Definitely unlike the EDT. Lol.

Masculine fresh spicy vanilla perfection. Creamy licorice spice projected to fill the room and remain a soft presence. When I first sprayed this on, it took me back to living with dad in the city. We usually rode bikes to a candy store that's in the center of the city. And when walking in, this vanilla root beer smell hits you. Ive not realized ive been on the search for a statement scent that confines in dark comfort. Until now. This is my forever signature that'll leave me satisfied.

Smelled this in macys today. The rep asked if I smelled the new Prada and I initially said yea I dig paradigme a lot! And he showed me this one. Honestly, I was very surprised how much I did like it. I was not expecting to like the licorice all too much. It’s classy, clean and elegant. I could see myself wearing this on a date night or some special occasion he gave me a sample so I’m going to try this out some more and make the decision if I really want the bottle.

That really is a lovely licorice, not the pungency found in the licorice of Sauvage Elixir, but just straight up gummy candy licorice. I love that it's NOT just a take on Sauvage like the original is accused of being. This has its own identity and I commend Prada for that. Didn't pick it up today but will be a consideration when it hits good discounts. I don't even care that much for licorice, but this one was juicy and clean.

Absolute masterpiece! I'm really surprised more people aren't hyping it up. It has the classic Prada soapy / powdery thing going on, but it also smells like anise and orange cream, like Pizzelles or similar Italian desserts. By far the best fragrance of the last decade (AdG profumo came out in 2015, so that doesn't count).

Wow! I have the original and loved it. This is different but the dna of the beautiful smooth lavender is there. I’m very impressed as I’ve been so disappointed in flankers of originals which I love, but this has the Prada touch all over it. Versatile everyday anywhere. Drydown is a very smooth powdery lavender.

This is a BANGER. Dont listen to anyone who says its a dupe of Dior Sauvage Elixir, it has its own personality. This is such a great release from Prada, gives it a much darker tone from the OG and makes it a sexy date night scent. Great longevity and sillage for hours on end. 10/10 date night scent in my book.

It’s like JPG Le Male, Luna Rossa Black and Armani Code Parfum had a baby. Delicious licorice note off first spray, while drying down to a musky amber smell similar to Luna Rossa Black but more versatile. This is going to be my signature scent moving forward for any occasion. Very underrated!!

In the beginning I found it too mature and boring, but I find myself using it all the time. I’ve come to really appreciate it. It’s sweet and floral, very bright. I think it works better on warmer weather but I might be wrong.
