Acqua Oud

Glad to see this is finally on Fragrantica! This smells like boozy aquatic cucumber with dark woods in the base. I do get some oud, but imagine it is floating in the ocean covered in seaweed. And there is definitely some ambroxan in there too. This was love at first sniff for me. It is fresh enough for warm weather but has some darkness and depth too. I wear this when I want depth but it's too hot to wear my stronger fragrances like Resala or Haltane. This also makes it great for that transition period between summer and fall when it's still warm out but everyone is getting in the mood for darker fall vibes. Lasts 10+ hours on my skin but the projection isn't too loud which I think is good. I don't want every one of my fragrances to scream.

I've been testing this through the weekend after not reaching for my decant since it first came out. It's a nice woody take on a aquatic fragrance but it also maintains a freshness about it. Imagine smelling a fine wood on the beach, and that's the drydown. Has a little black tie vibe which I've always gotten with Oud Wood throughout the years of wearing that one. The fruits at the top are mixed so well with the wood and oud accord they're bot easy to identify beyond pineapple. Now that I see the notes they make sense. Strong performer and can turn noxious in the high heat. ------------------------------------------------------ Scent 85/100 Perfomance 95/100 (loads of chemical fixatives)

I'm glad that this got added. If you want a niche version of ADG profumo (the OG of course), here it is ( it's more than that, but it's doing the same thing). Has some sweetness, no actual oud, but more of a patchouli and spicy pepper undertone if that makes sense. It does have something to do with salt and pepper (and the new blue agave 75ml) as I think I smell a similar base, but it's doing its own thing. I have salt and pepper, and I will get a bottle of aqua oud. This can be worn year-round and shines on summer nights. Great release for this house. Yes, it’s overpriced, but it's quality with performance to boot, so that 75ml should last.

This is probably the best citrus fragrance I’ve ever smelled but no way in hell is it worth the price tag. Only slightly better than acqua di gio profondo but costs like a billion more dollars

This was a sample included with a different perfume I purchased and not something I would have chosen myself or naturally gravitate towards. With that said, on first application, the Aquatic notes are dominate & what hit me first, like salty sea air. It's fresh, airy and definitely reminded me of Summer. It seems blended very well looking at the notes here. I got the Bergamot, light Seaweed, Pepper, some Citrus, light Mossy, Woody notes. I could hardly detect the Melon, which was fine with me bc it's not a scent I enjoy. If the Pineapple was there, it was very faint. The projection & sillage was pretty good, with the longevity very strong. Bc this leaned more masculine on me, like a memory of men's cologne, I doubt it is something I would ever purchase or wear. Maybe if it had some sweeter notes, or a little more feminine quality, I would consider it bc I did love the Freshness! Upon drydown, it became a nice Woody scent with the Patchouli finally detectable for me.

Let me start by saying I have been very critical of this brand. Saying that only Salt Pepper made my full bottle list and the rest were just OK weak copy cats of existing scents...and then came acqua oud. This is still another copy cat...but done better than the scent it copied. Get your nose on Tom Fords Oud Minerale which is a marine freshie that smels great well this is that with more spices(smells like salt & pepper mixed with Oud Minerale) and oud that help make it more versatile for year round wear. Can't stop smelling myself. On a hot day this was great. Evening was great. Lasted quite a while. Smells good. I give this a 4.2 and on par with salt and pepper. If you like oud minerale dialed down screechiness...get this.

Just wow this is just amazing, a salty marine but dark fragrance with an undertone of fruit that goes great on a day out. spray it in the morning and as it develops and gets darker and marine like it’s perfect for the colder darker time. I’m very picky with oud but this it’s the perfect mix! I do got to say this reminds me a little bit of Creed aventus obsolu in terms of the darkness of the fragrance but in no terms same scent!!! And Yeah it does give off a bit of salt and pepper from the same house. This scent is for sure getting the same compliments as a designer fragrance but with the quality and enough nichness to satisfy. must try!! So far blue agave and Aqua oud have been hits for me

Imagine a more citrusy Acqua di gio profumo with melon and a dark clean oud. I didn’t love it at first but now I’m starting to really enjoy this.

I get some megamare vibes from the seaweed note on me that is. On tester and skin opening reminded me of a fresh shoe box lol.

Personal: 2/10 - I almost find it repulsive. It smells like salt, oud, and rancid fruits. Mass appeal: 4/10 - I don't think most people will appreciate something that's both fresh AND dark. And salty? Performance: 7/10 - Rather unfortunately, the performance is okay, which means the unpleasantness doesn't leave quickly. Value: 4/10 - It's pricey, and even if someone likes it, it's not cheap at all. Uniqueness: 6.5/10 - Unique? Sure. Wearable? No. SCORE: 47/100 Full bottle buy? NO, I don't even want my sample. Blind buy? NO, it smells like salt, the ocean, rancid melons, and oud. Recommend? NO, I can't think of a situation where this improves someone's collection. Date night? NO, unless your partner likes seawater and rotten fruit. Office safe? NO, HR will email you within 2 hours. Pros: It's different, I'll give it that. Cons: Saline, vegetal, and off-putting. It's a genuinely unpleasant fragrance. So after talking so much trash, I should say that given everyone else's feelings about this fragrance, there may simply be something wrong with my perception of it. To my nose, this is nasty, rancid salty fruit and oud. I cannot stand it. I don't even see how anyone else could smell something else, but this is a similar experience I had to "Mango Aoud | Gritti" a few reviews ago, where something with oud and fruit should have smelled nice, but to my nose, the fruit just came off as rancid. So my negative review may be entirely subjective, but I cannot, based on my experience, say anything good about this fragrance. A compliment getter for sure because of the projection... I bought a full bottle after a quick paper sniff without a skin sample test (against my better judgement). I was dazzled by the store sniff but found it more challenging on skin than anticipated after first wear... Starts bright and fresh with citrus, pepper, pineapple, melon, and watery marine notes. The marine notes are very present, with melon and pineapple also very noticeable. The main challenge for me is the melon... It is like a ripe orange melon which i don't enjoy at first but it mellows quickly. The driftwood, patchouli, moss, ambergris, vetiver, oud heart and base is really where it shines... It is a complex, unique, aquatic-oud scent. If you can stomach the fruity/briny opening, you'll enjoy it. I don’t regret buying it because of the compliments I've gotten, but it is a bit masculine for my taste. I am open to trading this for something else. Message me if interested!

Definitely get the melon and seaweed. The oud is light - which makes sense. Generally, I’d agree that it could be compared to an aqua di gio scent in the opening. In addition to the prominent melon, I pick up something mentholic. Once it begins to dry down, it’s pretty darn close to the same scent profile as salt and pepper (also from precious liquids). Good stuff, albeit repetitive - but the price is a bit steep.

This one's a little bit special! Niche ADG indeed. Intoxicating freshness.
