Himalayan Oud

Highly unusual scent but one i absolutely love. Different to other oud i have tested or own. This is a keeper for me it transports to places i have visited especially Egypt & Abu Dhabi; its fairly opulent on opening & settles for me into a myriad of exotic burning woods. It is not overly powerful but i really like this one. I managed to get this at a real knock down price from retail price but i would say worthy of consideration at full price. Only had it on for an hour but cannot stop smelling my wrist. Recommended.

An oud for the gentleman. This is a very refined scent. No sweetness, not a rose/oud, not the run of the mill Oud Wood dupe, not an Arabian Oud type of scent. I get a sophisticated refined oud for the Gentleman. I discovered this at a Beverly Hills Perfumery years ago and finally got my hands on a bottle. This is the only Oud I need in my collection.

Apparently this has been discontinued. I assume Nepalese oud is too hard or expensive to get anymore? I love the austerity of this scent. Calming smell that reminds me of a sauna or a clean, spare old school Japanese house. I dont get any stinky oud smells at all it seems very smooth.

Wow!!!! this perfume is beautiful

Initial impressions are mixed. It’s great in the air, a little pissy but nice dry Oud vibes with some spice and very mild dry distant rose. Up close is strange it smell plasticky almost like an oil perfume that’s gone off, not sure if that’s just the cumin? Will report back. Comparing this to promise is insane to be honest. (I do get the reminders me of in parts but it’s a different beast promise with more push and fruits) Becomes more and more sweet woody and refined over the hours, sillage stay intimate but makes a nice bubble. Decent laying tool (it’s intended purpose) and a unique eventually very clean Oud that’s worth an investigation but only if found for the bargain prices these knock around at. Found some promise to compare, whereas I can see what people are saying it’s in no way an alternative. The Oud is somewhat similar but the similarities end there. Promise keep the fruit sour vibes pushed by musk, this simply becomes sweeter leaning into slightly sweet spices vanillic tobacco vibes. For Oud lovers you may find this an easy going treat and nice alternative to very hardcore experiences but I really don’t think this is worth retail, again if you find for a bargain do grab!

On intially smelling this perfume, i was quite frankly struck by the urine-like note, although i will admit i was the only one to pick up on this observation. People have reacted with similar sentiments, usually with revolt. But in the end it has become my go to winter perfume, its tomb like silage is really what enticed me and its unique quality of being polarizing, for i hate nothing more than having a perfume that everyone loves, or even god forbid everyone wears! This perfume is for those with a refined nose, the iconoclasm of this palate is remarkable truly.

This is an expensive fragrance, but I would have to say it is good although I am not a fan of oud-based fragrances. I will review it on my channel on youtube soon, and I will go through the details. This is neither masculine nor feminine; it is a very gender-neutral scent. It is mainly woody with the slightest spicy aspect. The closest thing that comes to mind is licorice mixed with cedar. Projection is moderate is applied sensibly and longevity is excellent.

On the oud spectrum this lies on the softer, smoother side. I prefer this to be honest, I’m done with aggressive harsh ouds. This one is absolutely lovely, with the necessary depth you’d want in a perfume like this, and with an aromatic dimension that I’m still trying to figure out. Solid performance, and I think it’d be ideal for an oud beginner.

For a woody scent, it smells very sweet, cocoa-y, and powdery. The chocolate smells is almost overpowering when wet. When it dries, though, it smells like the end of a s'mores night. Good for fall/winter, for sure.

This fragrance has a spicy opening of cumin and Persian saffron but dries down to an undisguisedly woody oriental base where oud takes centre stage. To my nose this fragrance is redolent of MFK's Oud Velvet Mood and I enjoin MFK lovers to test this at their leisure. Ideal for soirees, Red Carpet events, polos, Reunions, gigs and Dinner dates.
