Simili Mirage

I don't care what the score says, this is wonderful! Yes it is expensive. Very expensive and is probably the main reason why the score is so low. I'm sure it has nothing to do the fragrance itself. It's very beautiful. Very high quality. Very well blended and attractive. The fragrance has an Amber quality to it, but in a cooling way instead of your typical warm and spicy direction. Perhaps aromatic or atmospheric. For this reason and many others, I find this fragrance fascinating. Certainly for the more advanced connoisseur. I would not purchase if you are new to the fragrance world. I want to point out that this is not my first experience with this fragrance. My first experience was actually three months ago. My reaction was very similar to what it is now. That the fragrance itself is filled with dichotomies and has been exceptionally done. Why I didn't review the fragrance I’m not so sure. Either way, I'm glad I didn't because it has given me an opportunity to break the fragrance down even further and conclude my personal opinion with ferocity. It has finally come to my attention that the style of fragrance is my personal favorite. Or one of them at least. Hard to pinpoint aromatic amber. Extremely hard to find! As we all know in this community, Amber fragrances are almost always combined with spices or incense. Sometimes both. Amber in itself is an accord, so why not get creative with it?! Isn't that the point? When did we all just assume that something made up has to be a specific kind of way? That's why I find this so fascinating. Simili Mirage has done something different and executed it well. Yes there is the styrax in two different forms. One of them being an absolute. But there are also aromatics such as thyme absolute and essence. The subtle combination of the two really enhance their nuances. The true quality of this fragrance really stands out upon comparison. I will not mention the name, but I did have another fragrance available to compare to at that very moment. Both were exceptionally high quality. I will leave it up to you to guess which fragrance came out on top.

got me stuck at the love-hate dilemma at the first snip. Then i felt in love after 1 day testing this. In compare to the other 6 scents, this one has much more complexity and depth. Very masculine and aged, vintage. It makes me think of the 60s–70s. I can picture myself in the later years of my life, wearing a checkered blazer and a beret, sitting on a sofa, surrounded by four walls covered with slightly dusty patterned wallpaper. I think the fragrance chart above isn’t quite right: in fact, it should be leather, chypre, aromatic, and smoky. I appreciate this fragrance.

Simili Mirage is an intellectual scent, clean, minimal, and technical. It feels like precision in motion, all smooth edges and mineral clarity. There’s something architectural about it, it smells designed, not composed, as if it were drawn with sharp graphite lines. I admire it for that reason, it’s a scent for thinkers, designers, or those who love abstraction. On my skin, it stays cool and distant, almost meditative. I respect its construction immensely, even if it doesn’t strike an emotional chord with me. A cerebral fragrance, perfectly executed.

An amazing fragrance that is so complex and refined that it's difficult to describe. Warm leather notes combine with immortelle and ambrette to create a uniquely gorgeous olfactory journey that shape shifts over time. With mineral notes, pine and herbs, this is not a scent profile I would normally choose, but it really works on me! It's totally unisex and easy to wear, but equally as interesting and modern. I can't wait to try the other fragrances in this line.

It opens with a jumble of the listed notes creating an odd flavor of green, dry, truffled leather that I’m not sure works to my nose. But it quickly settles down to a pleasant and harmonious earthy leather and immortelle accord that lasts for a few hours. Nice but my heart belongs to a handful of far superior immortelle scents. 3 out of 5.
