LITERALLY!!! SUCH A COOL FRAGRANCE! straight up mushroom swamp earthy wet forest, so so interesting. i wouldnt wear it honestly,, but ??? i would want it just to smell it

This one is quite a peculiar brew. It doesn't recall any other creation from him. One can track down a specific DNA pattern in most of his perfumes except here, it is something new. The perfume is built around a hefty dose of natural Ambergris and you most definitely get that. It is an ambergris bomb, much like Onthamara is a Musk bomb. However, many other things are happening so the ambergris becomes more of a matrix to support the rest of the composition. Ahuizotl smells like a witch's cabin, scented with herbs, spices, and incense, located deep into a dark swamp inhabited by mermaids. It is dark, earthy, aquatic, smoky, aromatic, spicy, and leathery. The ambergris feels right in the middle of the spectrum, not white, nor black. It displays some leathery nuances which are particularly evident in the dry-down. The opening is dominated by notes of mushrooms and soil, that have a wet, aquatic feel to them, I suspect from the usage of calone as well as the ambergris. Using choya nakh with the gris lends a simultaneous salty, mineral quality to this first stage. It certainly captures the smell of a swamp. Shortly after, the spices and the aromatic facets start to show up, and the most detectable are the sage and the licorice. The use of licorice here is amazing, as it fits brilliantly and in the later stages, it pairs with the immortelle to create a beautiful sweet, spicy, and herbaceous accord. I don't pick up on the blackcurrant at all, but I can detect the violet leaf coming in and out at times to lend support with its green, earthy, almost metallic flavor. The base settles around this soft leather accord, joined by the wet soil facet, subtle smokiness, and the immortelle-licorice pairing. It is a fun ride all the way through. As mentioned before, it recalls witches, mermaids, and pirate stories. The ambergris is always present lifting the composition and lending a helping hand in creating the various accords. Another intensely dark animalic incense offering from the enfante terrible of modern perfumery. Designed as an evocation of an Aztec mythical creature, a half dog half mermaid, this scent again pulls no stops at the notes that go into it: ambergris, mushrooms, extract of sea shells, licorice, and a kitchen sink of darkish notes such as galbanum, violet leaf absolute, black hemlock, artemisia, and other incensy aromatic spices. Add to this a heavy dose of synthetic calone like musks. You have a sorcerer's potion that could choke a room if oversprayed with its dark beauty which leans slight masculine and has strong sillage. After a very rough opening, the beast settles down into incense but the initial shock is bound to remain. Only for the most initiated animalic lovers and fans of this perfumers dark cinematic artistry - others can safely skip. Enjoy!

Smells like a mildewed pile of mouldy old clothes in the mouldiest wardrobe in a condemned house. Overwhelmed by mushroom and soil notes and an earthy sage. A little black hemlock / spruce for wood. You can smell like this if you want to.

This is beautiful but it is also the closest I have thus far gotten to a ‘scrubber’. For me, there is something truly repulsive in this blend and my nose is not good enough to identify exactly what it is. Out of all PRIN fragrances, this is the one that is least friendly to non-fragranceheads.

This is exactly what earth smells like, with all of its pungent, decaying facets. Captures the complexity of natural soil perfectly.
