Tom Yum

I agree with the previous reviews, this does not smell like a steaming bowl of Tom Yum soup but it still manages to give a similar impression. Very citrusy, spicy (in the literal sense, not hot), held together with a woody core that emerges as the fragrance develops. On application kaffir lime jumps out, lemongrass, ginger, and what smells a little bit to me like bamboo shoot. This initial impression lasts for about 30 minutes until these high top notes dissipate. If you are familiar with Thai food, or really any southeast asian cusisine - I am sure that you will identify with this scent. After the first 30 minutes or so the kaffir lime, grapefruit, and lemongrass begin to fade and it becomes a little bit less 'high pitched'. Still Tom Yum but perhaps not so fresh. At dry down most of the high notes disappear and we are left with a slightly herbal/fresh scent resting ontop of what I presume is the chalood bark, coriander, and patchouli base. All phaes of this perfume are nice and differ slightly from that which preceded it. This is, for me, not a perfume that you would spray just before work or just before an event. It deserves to be sprayed an hour or two before and left to develop. All in all, a very nice fragrance and full-bottle worthy just because of how unique it is. 7/10

Fascinating! I don't perceive Tom Yum as a gourmand, although it does share a striking resemblance with tom yum soup. What keeps it from being a blueprint is – thankfully – the lack of a shrimp note. Bright lemongrass is evident from the very first second, and it's grounded by chili, cilantro, and lime, a hint of coconut and a wee bit of soapyness that makes sure people know I didn't actually bathe in soup. I do want to lick my skin when I'm wearing Tom Yum Prissana, but it also makes me think of happy days on Koh Chang Noi, smiling faces, and street cats.

I'm a huge fan of Thai food and this one really hits the spot without making you smell like a bowl of soup lol. Bracing lime citrus in the opening with a background of coriander, spicy galangal, and lemongrass. It's not listed as a note, but after a while, I picked up on a subtle, creamy sweetness that immediately made me think of coconut milk. Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me, but i'm pretty sure it wasn't. The drydown was fairly sweet and almost powdery between the patchouli and jasmine. Wonderfully creative and wearable.

Just like its namesake soup: a zingy, bright, light, lime-scented sweet and sour ray of sunshine. (Happily unlike the soup: no shrimp or fish sauce and not spiked with rogue nose-burning chilli.) Makrut lime is such a wonderful thing - like regular lime amped to 11, with an extra-green, almost-grassy prickle of character - that it can perk you up in any format, smelled or tasted. Backed up with other lovely citruses, and a lemongrass note so intense and real (? and why so rarely used in perfumery, by the way?) - it really cannot fail to wake the senses. Even on a very cold European morning this can do tropical happiness without cliche. Perfectly unisex, deliciously quirky. A winner in so many ways. Could work wonderfully for anything from a demanding office day when you want to feel alert and lively, to a relaxing time off in a big loose robe. Sadly, for me, as for others here, this particular liquid form of tom yum is all over a bit too fast: I wanted to bathe in its aura for hours and hours, but on skin its pure lime loveliness evaporated in under an hour, the rest (still a very very pleasant green herbal bouquet indeed) lingering only for a precious two hours more. Might do better if sprayed with abandon in warm humidity, but my life won't give it the chances or circumstances to shine as it should. Definitely worth a try though if citric+green with genuine distinction is what you're after.

Citrusy and green the way those lime leaves and lemongrass stalks are. Coriander seeds and galangal nuances come in later. Coriander seeds make it go very herbal in vibe, or maybe that’s the patchouli in with it. Later there is something like coconut (the jasmine?). This could’ve been more exotic or more like the soup’s herbs, if he hadn’t added other citrus and herbs. Lime leaf and lemongrass aren’t just citrus but green, and their exotic smells are very specific and unique, so adding other more usual citrus and herbs just buried that effect I think.

Zesty, sparkling lemon-lime, aromatic and savory lemongrass, spicy piquant chili pepper. Invigorating and energizing. Therapeutic and spa-like. The dry down is a creamy soapiness though which felt like a deflated balloon coming from such a fresh, zippy, and herbal opening. I didn't have any issues with longevity personally. The sillage was intimate but I don't have any issues with that. Very unique fragrance. I like it but I wish the opening lasted longer. Though I know it can be difficult to do with such volatile molecules.

It is called Tom Yum, but it doesn't smell exactly like Tom Yum soup, fortunately. We don't want to smell the same as foods or drinks. But the inspiration is here, and it is very well done! Take a fresh cologne base, and add lemongrass, kaffir lime and galangal root which are main ingredients in the soup, and you have a fantastic fresh fragrance with an Asian dna that works well in the heat. Refreshing and unique and highly recommended. Unisex and quite long lasting.

I like the creativeness of this one. I love Tom Yum soup and this one kind of reminds me it but not so that is unwearable. This one is wearable and has great longevity. I would say def unique, worth a sample. I received a sample and unfortunately not bottle worth as I'm not sure when I would wear it.

Wow Tom Yum realness. Very fresh, citrus-lemon grass, spicy. Is it wearable? Perhaps! I think it would definitely peak interest from others ^o^ Great work for creativity.

Aromatic but in a completely different flavour to most "spicy" perfumes I've tried. Warm, green, Mmm-inducing on first spritz. It settles to something more pale and gingery on the skin, and the lovely spiciness doesn't last long, so not great value for longevity, but certainly intriguing.

A proper savoury perfume. Very nice smelling lemongrass, really does smell like a fresh tom yum soup. However it doesn't stay long at all, starts fainting away in few minutes, barely anything stays In an hour. Still a very interesting perfume.

never had the soup that many talk about, but thought this one was pretty pleasant. not too special to me but pretty decent. 6.5/10

Love this one. It reminds me of the food I had during my trip in Thailand years ago. The other work I’ve tried from Prin was darker so it is interesting to see his take on a fresh scent. It opens with a burst of citruses before getting to a heart where some sort of coconut milk smell comes through for me (no idea how), which combines with the lemongrass and supporting notes. For me it’s hard to find something with a somewhat unique smell for summer, this one is unique enough for me for a fresh scent and a fun perfume overall. No idea how high I’d rate this as summer scents are in general something I enjoy less.

this one is entirely gourmand, and by that i mean ENTIRELY gourmand, you can eat all of the ingredients listed on the menu/list. that said, it smells INCREDIBLY like tom yum soup, and, well, it doesn't really do all that much more. a little limited in that it recreates an internationally renowned thai dish, but, that's it. personally, i was hoping it would do something or have an element in the background that made it zing and zhush, but, unforch, it don't. beautiful smelling, BTW, just not the kind of perfumery i was hoping for...

super fragrant, savory lemongrass that manages to stay more aromatic than sweet!! this is beautiful and invigorating; perfect for the summer months! there is a moment in the opening where it smells a bit like citronella/mosquito repellent but that quality is quite fleeting (and i don't even mind the smell of repel to begin with tbh lol; reminds me of hot summer camping days in my childhood!!)

The name may have influenced how I interpreted it, but this connected me directly to Tom yum soup. The kafir lime leaves are prominent and the there is herbal freshness from ginger, citrus and and coriander. I cannot escape the thought of this being the soup, so I cannot imagine wearing it. But as a scent it smells great.

Very realistic and delicious! Notes do make you feel like you're wearing food. Sweet and zesty. Anyone who loves the smell of this should try vaninger.

Nice and bright. Puts a smile on your face. Lime note is nice. I wasn’t able to do a deep dive, but it passed the first test for capturing my interest.
