Dolce Acqua

Sweet marzipan, creamy almonds and powdered sugar. Airy but decadent with the right amount of sweetness. I visited this gorgeous store in Bologna called Virginia 1921 and it was such a wonderful experience--shout out to Virginia for sharing her favourites with me and for helping me find my next favourite scent! I was on a hunt for an almond scent that's more floral and sweet, something different from Chemin D'Amande (which I absolutely adore!). I tried on different scents during my visit and I was so sure that Confetto would be the winner--I even sprayed on skin and walked around the city for a while to see how it would settle. When I went back to make the jump, I had a gut feeling to try Dolce Acqua on my skin, and I immediately knew I had to have it. Dolce Acqua - fizzy coconut and jammy fruits in the opening, with a creamy drydown of dusty, sugared almonds with a hint of rose water. My husband detected a tart cherry note in the opening. Confetto - dry, bitter almonds followed by a creamy jasmine and nutty vanilla base. My husband said it smelled like plasticine/Play-Doh though. Both beautiful almond scents though, but I am glad I went with Dolce Acqua in the end. If you find yourself in Bologna, Virginia 1921 is a must-visit local profumeria!

Man it really surprises me by how inconsistent profumum Roma is with there fragrances. For example, one year they’ll come out with something incredible and out of its world, then the next year they come with out something nauseating, or lame. Anyways with that being said I’ve been curious to get my nose on dolce acqua for about a year straight ever since I fell in love with the “older brother “ confetto, which is an absolute masterpiece of an almond scent. Love it so much it’s arguably my favorite fragrance. I recently purchased a decant of dolce acqua from a friend on Facebook and I’ve finally got a chance to try it! Extremely disappointed, absolutely nothing like its brother confetto. Yes I do get almonds however it’s as if the almonds got mixed with coco butter, tons of tooth aching sugar, and a dollop of icy hot cream 🤮. No one in my family enjoys the scent . Just because you’re a fan of confetto does not mean you will enjoy this.. North Pole vs South Pole. Apples vs oranges. Sillage- 98/100 Longevity- 97/100 Scent opening- 17/100 Dry down- 71/100 ok dry down ain’t too bad but this is definitely better on females

Smells like almond marzipan, coconut scented sunblock and the sweet plastic scent of a vintage pastel pearlescent blue/mauve My Little Pony (more than play-doh)... and I loveeeee that sweet plastic addictive accord so much! It’s nostalgic and sweet but in a supreme refined adult way. Pair it with a Petit Bateau baby tee, 90’s style Levi’s jeans, flip flops, a luxe Carolina Bucci pony bracelet and play “I’m Just a girl” by No Doubt. NOSTALGIC, luxurious and AGELESS! Precious long lasting high quality blend. I’m so glad that IT DOESN’T SMELL LIKE baked goods, tropical, powdery or cherry on me at all like it does for some! I tried it years ago but fell in love recently and will wear it until I’m 100 years old! 🐚 I only have one complaint: Profumum Roma did not make a body oil, a body lotion, a hand sanitizer, a candle, nor a special edition of this fragrance like they did with others and I feel personally victimized because I want all of those and also a hair mist and everything scented possible of this fragrance!

This fragrance has this beautiful, sweet coconut and almond opening that is pure heaven. The first 20 minutes is what I love the most and to be honest, is the reason that made me buy it. There is no other house that makes gourmands like Profumum Roma. This fragrance has a truly edible gourmand smell, starts out with sweet almonds and ends up with lots of heliotrope with the scent of bitter almonds. My eight year old son told me pretty much instantly that I smelled like play-doh, can't really argue with that. It does smell a lot like play-doh, not that I care. The only thing you need to be aware off is that this fragrance is cloying and can be a bit sickly sweet. Maybe not so suitable for work, and please don't overspray, you might suffocate someone unintentionally. One spray of this powerhouse fragrance goes a long way and will last you for many hours! If you want to smell like a bakery filled with almond goods and marzipan, this is what you're looking for! Truly delicious!

Beautiful, I bought a decant and it's just like giakker (reviewer below, great descriptor) described. I will be buying a bottle. When you figure in the oil to alcohol ratio, this isn't as expensive as that price tag looks. It literally was on my wrists and neck for 12 hours and I was getting wafts of the fragrance myself. When my son hugged me he said I smelled really good. That's a keeper for me, 😊. Your mileage may vary, I don't rec blind buying bc almond can go a couple different ways, nose perception wise, and if your not a fan of that it won't be a good deal for you. Also, if you're not a person that likes to wear a fragrance often, then of course the price will be a determinate. I'm weak, I just bought a bottle. I do wish they came in smaller sizes bc it's going to take forever to use this, the longevity on this scent alone would make a 30 or 40 ml bottle last a couple years of daily use.

I noticed the comparison with Etro's Heliotrope on here and I can see the reason. However, this one, unlike Etro's wonderful Heliotrope, is much longer lasting (incredibly so!) And is far more refined, as well as being less reminicent of playdough. I'm a sucker for almond notes and laconic gourmand perfumes, which this one does with the utmost elegance, and the obvious competency of the nose which created it. Bravo! With the creamy, milky coconut and the powdery almond; you will see these 2 notes sensually caressing each other with a sweetened vanilla/tonka harmony. It's one of the most beautiful perfumes I've had the privilege to wear on my own wrist. An immediate purchase for a full bottle, as it's all I ever wanted from a perfume with these notes. From opening, to middle, to dry down... I adore everything about this one. For me, It is the pinnacle of almond perfumes!

I had a candle from Jo Malone, Pink Macaroons I think it's called, I wished Jo Malone made a fragrance like that but alas, can be only obtained as a candle. Here it is and it's just so beautiful. Perfect for those days when it feels I'm swimming to work, it's raining so much the water is everywhere. I also don't need to have a warm body temperature for this to project, which means perfect for this time of year as well when I'm constantly walking around being cold. Hey, Irish winters and buildings are HARSH, this gives me a soft, fluffy, marzipan edge to my life and for this I thank it. I'll let you in on a little secret. Even though this is up there with the best, this is only no.2. Number one is Platino from Omnia Profumo. It smells even more like marzipan but with more coconut. And it's half the price. It will be my pink macaroon HG for winter :-)

This one is beautiful !!!! No cherry-ish smell , no powdery , just almond , vanilla and so creamy . I love it. UPDATE : Now I got the full bottle. The box presentation is gorgeous. At the first spritz , you get a divine smell of a well blended and creamy licor , coconut , almond and vanilla .Nothing has an artificial smell here . What caught my attention was exactly that creaminess , hard to describe , so beautiful , smooth , tender. The dry down is also creamy , nothing powdery , never cloying. The staying power is also great. I totally agree with maelleinrome and if you are a gourmand lover you must give it a try , "bellissimo" .

A delicious and very rich almond confection scent. Perfect for gourmand lovers like myself. It is very long-lasting and dries down beautifully, increasingly smelling like baked goods as it unravels. I don't get any cherry, but the coconut is creamy and the almond is doughy with almost a butterscotch scent. I get no playdoughy feel from this like I do with many almonds. The vanilla is similar to the other vanillas in this line (vanitas, especially). My fiance really likes it. I haven't found anything like this and I really love it, great job again from this line.

Dolce Acqua is honeyed coconut with a touch of cherry and nutty, sugared almond. The coconut is a little waxy, and the almond-heliotrope combo does go a little playdoh, so I agree with the candle description (but in a good way). It’s very sweet and becomes a bit more powdery as it wears. There’s not much metamorphosis with this scent- it’s a straightforward gourmand that has excellent longevity. Profumum Roma uses an impressive perfume oil to alcohol ratio, so it’s one of the niche houses that is worthy of its prices, IMHO.

YESSS!!! It was finally added to the database!!! I was waiting for this... :) This is so beautiful, I love it so much!!! At the first spritz, you can smell a sweet, creamy, so natural note of coconut; after a while, you are embraced by the most wonderful union of almond and vanilla. So sweet, but not sickly, only tender and creamy. Maybe Dolce acqua is what Confetto should have been in my mind! If you like this kind of fragrance - vanilla or almond based - you will surely love Dolce acqua. It's also so powerful! :)

This fragrance is the perfect companion for a day spent under the sun. Reminds me of Yves Rocher Fleur de Noël, a somewhat obscure fragrance from 2008 that I swapped away. In fact, it is the exact love child of Fleur de Noël and L'Erbolario Mandorla. This is what I expected Confetto from the same house to be. A fluffy sugary almond confection with a hint of marzipan doused in amaretto. It is irresistible. It almost knocks Reminiscence Dragée off the throne as my fave gourmand, and that's saying something.

While similar to the other vanilla-noted frags from this house (Vanitas, Acqva e Zucchero, Dvlcis in Fundo), this one, I think, is quite distinct- not only in the coconut-almond section, but also I detect a mixture of vetiver and tobacco leaves- which reminds me of Odori's "Tabacco" very much. Anyway: this one is a stunner- a mysterious gourmand and one of my new favorites from the house. Lasts 24+ hours.

I think this is a great perfume. The sweet opening is very, very strong.. a lot of almond and perhaps some coconut does make it a bit much, but that phase only lasts about a minute. The dry-down is a delicious mix of Almond and Tonka that I like a lot, and literally lasts all day. The price is high but so is the quality, so to me it’s totally worth it, like most other fragrances from this house.

The reviews for this are all over the place! The opening smells like baby powder with a vanilla and cherry- like undertone. It becomes slightly sweeter in the dry down and the almond note becomes more prominent. The dry down is nice! It’s not my favorite from the house, but it’s not bad. Definitely sample before you buy this one!

Excellent, almonds and vanilla shout at you and it is a wonderful combo. Great sillage and longevity, one of my favorites and I would grade this an A. I believe day or night would work and even in an office although a casual environment is ideal.

It's the perfect almond perfume. Not overly sweet, and doesn't cross into amaretto territory. One spray will do just fine, good value. Greatest blind buy for almond fans.

I think this smells like delicious almond croissants but my bf says it smells like urine cakes 😒
