Neroli

You would think it would be easy to find a true neroli soliflore out there but Profumum Roma Neroli is the only one I’ve found to capture the true scent of a blooming orange tree on a breezey summer afternoon. It’s like they fleshed out a gorgeous portrait of the whole tree, baking in the sun. The supporting notes of petitgrain and bigarade softly sharpen the formula on one end (treble) while myrrh deepens it on the other (bass). Squarely in the middle is gorgeous, realistic, marshmellowy orange blossom. I had a tiny sample and it lasted quite awhile because this is a rich, concentrated perfume. Nothing unique or complex here but it is an outstanding Neroli option if that’s what you are looking for. Edit: I heard that they changed the formula of this which I hope isn’t true. If it is then I would try Nicolai Neroli Intense for similar quality. Edit 2: I bought a few half-bottles of my favorite Profumum scents from someone on Ebay and they all came in stale, a little off in quality like they were years old. So I wound up using the Neroli as a bathroom air freshner at my office and let me tell you it was the most luxurious and effective room spray. I’ve never known anything to mask bad odor like this, not a trace of whatever was being covered up. But also not overpowering or chemical. Just 3 or 4 sprays toward the middle ceiling of the small powder room and the room smelled beautiful all day. Now I realize that $300 for 50ml of room spray is absurd, but man, you get what you pay for. Extraordinary. Edit 3: Back to a brand new bottle straight from the source. This thing will last me forever, it’s so rich. Arso and Olibanum are my other two favorites from this brand. Gotta keep Olibanum and Neroli out of sunlight because both will spoil rather quickly from the light. It must be the orange blossom absolute used in both fragrances.

This is a BIG, warm and round scent. It starts out with the most natural, sun drenched neroli you could imagine and then it slowly transitions over its many, many hours of performace into a more subdued, powdery neroli/orange juice combo. While this is happening, there is something in the background - something that i cant really identify as myrrh (but i guess must be?). This background makes itself known from time to time during the scents progression and it is not always pleasant. At times you get a whiff, under the citruses and white flowers, of something that can only be described as stale BO and at other times the same note only gives some counterpoint and depth to the scent, adds some low frequency to counter the citruses/flowers high frequencies, if you understand what i mean. Despite this, the scent is beautiful and strong. It lasts all day and quickly fills up a fairly large room. As always with Profvmvm Roma the atomizer is terrible and prone to breaking but if you are looking for the best performing citrus scent ever, look no further.

This has got to be one of the closest fragrances to capturing the real neroli fragrance. Love it. Its smells natural. I think Ive found a fab neroli fragrance. Its potent juice, not too sweet and truly unisex. I can imagine that some ladies might not find it sweet and soft enough to feel comfortable wearing. Its so fresh and zingy. The myrhh and orange flower really work well with it. I guess we can thank the myrhh for extending the longevity. I grow orange flower and you can detect it and I think it does a fine job of softening the edges of the neroli to create perfection. I cant wait to wear it on our rare warm days or night. Pricey juice but worth every penny.

Neroli is a criminally underrated perfume from the brand of Profumum Roma...in my opinion, the best in its class (neroli based)...this fragrance appears slept-on by both your everyday fragrance enthusiasts and also fans of the brand...barely hear anyone talk about it...on to the scent...as with most Profumum Roma frangrances, what you see is what you get...it blends a clean soapy neroli with a semi sweet orange blossom, a green petitgrain, a sharp orange peel w/ a soft resinous/soapy myrrh...the blend is bold, persistent, and quite unique...a gem for those keen enough to discover it

This perfume seems to have gotten stronger since I received it. Two sprays is plenty to last all day. There is a subtle complexity to this apparently linear scent, as different aspects of citrus/bitter orange appear throughout the day. As others have said, above all it is the naturalness of this perfume and this brand that impresses me. It's fascinating to reflect on what makes a scent smell nature as opposed to synthetic and why synthetic becomes irritating. I really enjoy this one.

I agree with Florista; you would think it would be easy to find a true Neroli soliflore but it isn’t. Profumum Roma Neroli is it. This is not a playful orange blossom in the breeze though. It is a true neroli that smells of authority and matureness, warm with an oriental touch and so, so luxurious. It is expensive gold jewellery in a bottle, best worn with silk caftans and cashmere shawls. Works at the office too if sprayed moderately.

I tried real hard to like Neroli fragrances for so long until I tried a bunch and eventually gave up, decided it wasn’t for me... until I discovered this beauty. Absolutely amazing formula by Profumum Roma. Once again, never fail to impress. I used to think neroli smells mature in an old lady-like way but this makes me feel so youthful and excited. It’s hard to believe this will be leaving my collection anytime soon.

I bought this blindly and I absolutely love it! To my nose, it’s not that sharp, clean neroli scent—it's warmer, with a bit of a "Christmasy" vibe to it. I’m guessing that warmth comes from the myrrh, since that’s really the only warm note in the composition. I was with two friends when I first tried it, and they weren’t too impressed... but what do they know about perfumes anyway. 😜

I really love strong scents, it's not sure for me even though my wife loves it, Neroli feels comfortable, relaxing and not fussy. Recently, where I live, the temperature is closer to 40 degrees. Bitter orange essential oil helps cool me down, but it doesn't sillage as much as I want. It's really high quality, very natural but doesn't surprise me.

This one surprised me. A bit mature with it's similarity to ADP Essenza but still wearable by most. Like many others have noted: it stays true to it's name, a photorealistic neroli. It smells classic but not dated. You feel clean while wearing it. It's sunny and perfectly suited to any attire on a warm sunny day.

Best neroli scent out there. So strong and pure neroli, on hot summer day it was radiating from my chest and I could smell myself like I'm under a orange tree. As always Profumum Roma delivers top quality juice, with no running away from it's name by turning into something else in the dry down.

Flowery, powered by neroli...I don't get too much else. I like it but it is somewhat feminine and I'd not recomment wearing in the office. For that after shower, clean flowery feeling, this is a great fragrance. Not beastly but no weakling either.

Wonderful! Neroli with a bit of floral creaminess. Some other subtle notes that I can't quite pinpoint but are in the aromatic territory. Relaxed and sophisticated at the same time. Lovely.

As close to the sadly discontinued Dilettante as I've ever been able to find. World-class neroli and my current signature scent.

Love the fragrance but for the money you'd think they'd have an atomizer that doesn't suck.

Fantastic juice, classy and sophisticated.

Clean, fresh, creamy, soapy. Floral and lightly citrusy. Inoffensive, mature, timeless, traditional. Impeccable purity and quality. Very pleasant, smooth and friendly. Has a certain greenness in the opening that gives it a realistic feel of actual flowers fresh off the tree. This fades away as you move into the drydown, but other than that this fragrance is impressively linear for a fresh and clean scent. Longevity is ok. It lasts a long time on clothes, but on skin it's a subtle skin scent after about 5 hours. Again though, for such a fresh and clean scent, that's not bad. Definitely unisex. The floral, soapy lightness of it might feel feminine, but at the same time the neroli is common in classic male fragrances, so I'm sure anyone can wear this. Basically the only question to ask yourself is whether this suits you as a character. It's quite possible that it's just too "safe" and simplistic for you. But the quality of the fragrance is simply not up for discussion.

Profumum Neroli is one of the more interesting takes on a neroli-dominant scent that I've had the pleasure to sample lately. It smells of not only the general idea of neroli, but also of a hearty petitgrain that provides a raw earthiness to complement the usual brightness of the neroli vibe, made possible via the inclusion of orange blossom (it's not clear if neroli is actually a listed note, or, if like Orangea, it smells like orange blossom without actually having orange blossom in it). It's a fine performer, on par with most of the warm-weather Profumum offerings, but a hard sell for me at the usual $250 due to the lack of superlative strength or scent. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Forte remains the king neroli for me, and while much more exorbitantly priced itself, I still find it more worthwhile than an entry like Profumum's Neroli. Still, Profumum's is a worthy take on the concept--worthy of sampling, for sure. 7 out of 10

I think I love this, but so far have held off buying a full bottle, perhaps because of the price, though maybe also because of its wearability. It’s a very pure bitter orange tree scent, but one where astringent neroli is, unsurprisingly, the main focal point (though there is a prominent sweeter orange blossom in the dry down). If you like neroli, you will love this. I do find it slightly overpowering for the first couple of hours and a single spray is probably enough for me. It is a scent for summer time when spending time with others who likewise enjoy neroli. The resinous note (myrrh) doesn’t strike me as discordant and makes it stand out from the more traditional cologne-like neroli fragrances. Unisex for sure, and hideously overpriced as with the rest of the PR range.

My search for the holy grail of Neroli fragrances is finally over! Best orange blossom I have ever laid my nose on! Beats Acqua di Parma Essenza and Neroli Portofino hands down! I feel this one sits right between AdP and NP, it has NP's predominant african orange and AdP's neroli. And the longevity to make it worthwhile. Lovely. Update. I do feel AdP might be a bit more complex but performance wise, Profumum is still No.1 Have been wearing this today, I must say it does remind me a bit of floor cleaners.
