Waters of Maluku

This is my SECOND fragrance that I bought after Farhampton (see my previous review, if you may). At first I just want a fresh, aquatic fragrance that I could use in the high heat and humidity of Jakarta, and I see myself gravitating to this fragrance, but boy it is not what I think. A quick backstory: I have a very strong ties to Waters of Maluku. During my clinical clerkship in one of the Community Health Center in Jakarta, I was paired alongside my soon-to-be girlfriend. I would wear Waters of Maluku during the period of time. One time I decided to respray it (Waters of Maluku barely lasts in the sun) before I rode my motorcycle with her to go grab lunch. She would compliment the scent non-stop, and it makes me more confident ever since. Instead of an aquatic fragrance as the name suggests, instead it is an uplifting, fresh spicy fragrance that opens up citrusy tea with a hint of carrot (not for long), before a woody, spicy (thanks to the clove), and incense-y base lingers for most of the duration. I don't sense any floral however (maybe I am wrong here). For most of my brief time testing and wearing fragrances, I have never encounter a fragrance that smells remotely similar to Waters of Maluku, and if you ask, what fragrance represents "Indonesia" to me? I would say this is a great start.

based on wearing it for almost a year, very spicy citrusy on the opening (first 30mins), then floral and smoky-ish (40-60 mins), and very warm spicy musky on the dry down (>1hrs). not aquatic or oceanic scent, but a fresh citrusy with a complex twist of spices that blends into a warm aromatic fragrance. weak performance on my skin, lasts 2hrs tops and desperately needing that extra sprays to be noticeable. love the smell, very unique, pls find me similar fragrances like this.

With a subtle hint of sunshine on a beach, this perfume captures the cozy warmth of the ocean's embrace. One of my top picks among lotus fragrances. Loves how they add warm spicy and citrus note. Unisex friendly too!

Nice and versatile frag. Its calm yet fresh. It is not aquatic imho. Nice for gym frag.

I got this when I was in Jakarta and I gotta say most of Project 1945's fragrances are quite unique compared to what I'm used to in the West. This one is fresh and watery with a little bit of spice. On my skin it does not last long, I can barely smell it after 3-4 hours but that is also an advantage for me as sometimes I don't feel like putting on perfume and this is perfect for that. Opening is fresh which is why I spray it right after a shower. It's not too strong which is honestly perfect for warm weather and especially for casual situations like grocery shopping, chilling with your mates, and even for the office. As a side note, my girlfriend loves it. Highly recommend it if you are looking for an affordable no-brainer fragrance for the hot weather.

I was expecting marine salty note because of the name, but this turns to be a really spicy grapefruit heavy scent. It does get a bit watery from the lotus and green tea but beware, the spice notes are strong might be sneeze inducing for some. Overall a beautiful aromatic citrus and definitely unisex.

doesn't really live up to its name, i though i would smell something watery when i first sniffed waters of maluku but turns out it leans more on a musky/citrussy smell that i can't really pinpoint. it smells fresh and different, a smell that i would love to sniff from masculine men.
