Azur Lime

This takes me back to my roots in Italy. Yes there are more refined , long lasting fragrances from Italy but this is the truly authentic fragrance that you would smell passing by a barber shop on a hot Italian summer's day or entering the bathroom after your dad had shaven. Priceless.

This is one of three releases, thus far, in the Proraso Single Blade line. The other two are Wood & Spice and Cypress & Vetyver. Of the three, while nice and being a "like" in my book, it's my least favorite. It's fresh and clean with a lemon / citrus dominance. It smells very similar to Trumper GFT and the Art of Shaving's Lemon EDT. In fact, in my opinion you could get any of the three and have little variance - enough to where it doesn't matter which one you bought. If I HAD to choose among the three, it would be GFT, because it has better projection and longevity. Proraso's Azur Lime is average with both. Summary: A nice, fresh, clean, lemon dominant, citrus fragrance, which is somewhat generic, in as much as it could practically be a dupe for at least two other releases and possibly a third, resembling Tom Ford's Azur Lime. I can't comment on Tom Ford's Azur Lime though, because I've never smelt it.

I have all three of the Proraso colognes now and here's what I think. Cypress & Vetiver I place in the middle. Decent scent and longevity with sillage just okay. Wood & Spice is strongest with greater longevity and sillage, my wife likes, but I'm not keen on the scent due to it's inclusion of vanilla. Azur Lime, my favorite, while having lesser longevity and sillage, has a very pleasant "barbershop scent" which is one of my go to types of fragrances. These bottles usually run $36 each at C.O. Bigelow or elsewhere online, and I recently scored one for $30 on eBay. Best wishes!

#700 in my "Tour de Fragrance" As with millions of men, I've used Prorazo menthol and eucalyptus shaving cream and shaving soap. It's not really my jam. I find it irritating. I plan to try the sensitive skin soap at some point as I prefer to use a boar brush to apply shaving products. But I ran across the colognes, and they're very inexpensive, so I figured why not? Reminds me of Newt's Barbershop from when I was a boy. Nice lime and wood scent and surprising endurance for a cologne. Can't do better for $10.

Very nice cologne for the price. Citruses - the orange is not included in Fragrantica - woods, juniper, musk. Fresh aftershave feel without being too shaving creamy. Not the most naturalistic but not synthetic either. Projects for an hour or two, still present on the skin a while later. Given the price, a very good choice for a sports scent or after shower/shave pick me up. Spray on your shirt in the summer heat for feeling good about yourself all day.
