Branch & Vine

This smells amazing on my boyfriend! This is lily of the valley done right! I guessed It (and jasmine) before looking at the notes. Normally, I find lotv to be cloying and distracting, but in Branch & Vine, the flower is just brilliant! It's celebrated. Honeysuckle-sweet florals against an almost bitter pungent petitgrain-like base. Could that be the vetiver/violet leaf? So sparkling and natural, dimensional and intoxicating... I don't use that word lightly.. and of course, perfectly unisex, though not for the man who fears flowers. Love it! Definitely worth a test. It wears close to the skin but longevity is quite good, especially for an all natural fragrance.

Revisiting Branch and Vine again and I rather like it now. At first I didn't like it because of the tomato leaf opening. I had never encountered that in perfumery before and was a bit taken aback. That was 2 1/2 years ago when I started my perfume journey and now I am more accustomed to different types of materials being used to make a perfume. Natural or synthetic. If you like the smell of tomato leaf you will not find a more realistic one. But it only stays around for about 10 mins. It is the opening salvo as it were. But as it goes along it becomes a pretty sweet white and yellow floral. I still don't know how I feel about tomato leaf in a perfume but if you want something that is a nice light and refreshing vegetal opening to a really pretty yellow and white floral scent and all natural to boot this is a good way to go. My favorite out of Charna's Cologne series is Basil and Bartlett. The more I sample this the more I really like it and could see myself wearing it. I may buy a bottle at some point in time. I am a big fan of Charna's perfumes. If you want high quality ingredients, great longevity and throw you will not find a better perfume house. In my opinion Charna should be as widely known as Hiram Green. As much as I like Hiram and admire his work I own more of Charna's. She creates more truly feminine fragrances, and this is one. Sure, it is advertised as unisex, everything has to say that now a days but make no mistake this is a pretty white and yellow floral perfume made for a woman to wear. Perfect for spring and summer. It is refreshing, pretty, clean, and very floral. Personally, I have no problem w/ men wearing floral perfumes like this, in fact I would prefer it. Most of the masculine fragrances on offer today are horrid and women naturally gravitate towards clean florals. Guys give this one a try.

this starts off very green and vegetal-it smells like tomato leaf but that note isn't listed on fragrantica, though it is present (from the website: Verdant leafy greens, a tangle of tomato vine. Hints of muguet mingle with mimosa, jasmine and cooling violet leaf.) i think i get violet leaf at first as well. it's quite green and bright. i get a floral note but it's not immediately recognizable. i think it's mostly jasmine with a bit of mimosa. really interesting perfume for warm weather!

This smells hands down like the lobby of Le Meridien hotels circa 2010. I can't associate this with anything else other than memories from the time spent in various Le Meridiens. Admittedly not a helpful review for anyone else but thought I'd share anyway.

Smells like tuberose (white florals), vetiver, pink mimosa flower, cucumber, and a wisp of tea tree oil. Very reminiscent of a tomato plant + bright cool succulent flowers. Not wearable as is, to me, but I pulled out my clary sage EO and rubbed a drop on top and it became really funnnky... Mmmm, like dirt; moist, dark, microorganism-filled, fluffy, living, dirt! (and obviously -also a floral perfume, a really beautiful one)

Like a walk on the border between the woods and the fields, but I'm not a hiker. There's a lot going on, most of it less common florals and quite nice, but the musty note of the forest floor (pine?) jumps to the front on my skin. Not for me.

I tried the majority of this line. The clear winners for me are Magnolia Mist and Branch & Vine. If I were to buy a full bottle (still trying to decide), I would choose Branch & Vine. It's beautiful! My thoughts when sampling were: Favorite. Spring & summer green neroli mint grass clementine wet garden Honeysuckle fresh garden. But now that I read the notes, TOMATO VINE must be the gorgeous green I'm smelling. So SO beautiful. The only thing that is holding me back from purchasing a FB is the longevity. I wish she would make an absolut of Branch & Vine or an oil. I read that her Ivy Tower oil is possibly similar, but the dill note others have mentioned on that one scares me. Very talented perfumer!

La Belle Noiseuse- love the "Freedom and bliss" lol They should name it that! Thanks for this recommendation and inspiring review! Natural scents, as mentioned before me, have a tendency to get musky in a vegetal way, or overly indolic with white florals, none of which I enjoy... This is a beautiful delicate white floral scent, namely, delicate fresh jasmine and lily of the valley. As it evolves I get some bitter orange and sunflower and still ever bright and dewy ( non indolic thank goodness!) pretty jasmine. A couple hours later it is lily of the valley, mimose and still jasmine Clean fresh, a must test out for those after a pretty ( real) white floral scent.
