Divine

This was my third full bottle purchase from Providence Perfume (following Provanilla and Rose Boheme). This is a classy perfume. Like something you would wear to attend a graduation or a wedding. I've been known to wear it outside of those events, of course, but it's able to compete with a nice outfit and not feel like it dogs it down. (Note on that: it's a dark juice and it *does* stain the skin a shade of orange, so be careful with your clothes!) I wore this today and am on hour 7 and can still smell it, though it's become a skin scent. For the first 4 hours it had about 8 inches of projection and there was a trail behind it. I could smell it now and again while I was cleaning and it brought a smile to my face each time. I like this in any season but it's best in summer/fall. Summer for the citrusy aspects and fall for the amber and vanilla. I had a comment on it last fall, my mom thought it smelled like apple crisp. I think this is worth a sniff for anyone looking for a neroli or amber fragrance. In my opinion, it skews feminine but of course individual tastes differ. There's a vintage flair to this that makes this stand out from all of the other neroli/orange blossom fragrances I've tried.

I found this perfume while on vacation visiting a friend in RI several years ago. I love that she created this for a friend who always wears red lipstick because I love rocking a classic vintage style and I have about 10 varying shades of red lipstick. When I first smelled this I thought, "It's my pearls, stockings, lipstick, and heels in a bottle!!!" I could be naked, spray this, and feel I'm fully dressed, makeup on, and hair done. I'm still madly in love with this fragrance; however, it's very rare that I wear it as it turns super intense and concentrated on me. One small dab of the roller lasts me through showers and until the next day. It would be my main perfume if it settled a little more gently on me. Also, the orange blossom reminds me of Ibiza in May- another glorious vacation. This perfume locks in so many good feelings and memories for me so I keep it and smell it rather than wear it. I'm now wondering if I should try making a body powder out of this....

I deleted my review because it was so rambling. I got a FB of Divine for Christmas and I am so glad I have this in my collection. It is a real stunner of a spicy, musky, sweet vanilla orange blossom and jasmine grandflora fragrance with lots of vintage oakmoss. Opens with a bright sharp orange peel, a dry spice and lots of oakmoss but it settles quickly. Then it becomes a beautiful orange blossom,jasmine with neroli, lots of warm vanilla amber and musk. It has beast mode sillage and longevity. Very warm, sensual. It is one of my favorite fragrances in my collection. I could wear this everyday for a month and not tire if it. If you love really wonderful all natural fragrances you need to check Providence perfume company out. Womanly, sensual, warm and inviting. Very come hither. And I've tested the above JPG Classique flanker and Divine smells nothing like that pile of trash. An insult to suggest it.

This my first time trying anything from Providence and I'm quite happy with my purchase. Divine is a wonderfully comforting fragrance that gives you the feeling of being fireside and wrapped up in a cozy blanket. It's a warm, spicy, musky orange floral. Very well done.

Providence Perfume Company makes some of my favorite scents. Period. Not just favorite natural scents. Divine shows that there is still something new to be done with the classic notes used for hundreds of years of perfumery. Divine is a complex floral oriental fragrance with a warm and natural musk-y vibe as well. I can smell the earthy ambrette throughout the scent's evolution. It goes on a bit sour due to citrus, and the strong floral heart notes don't linger as long as expected. The fragrance cuts to the chase with the warm, sexy base appearing about two hours in, and lasting throughout the day. Amber and vanilla lend a sweet oriental touch to the ambrette and angelica, both of which have remarkable animalic overtones for a vegetable musk. (If you're interested in exploring the botanical musk scents, I do recommend Divine as a good starting point.) Divine's sillage is heavy for the first hour or two, but the scent settles into a warm and pleasant intimacy that is still going strong nearly ten hours after application. It's not necessarily inappropriate for the office, but wearing it somewhere that wouldn't let you fully relax into its warm and sexy vibe seems a bit of a waste. I'll save this one for cozy moments at home with my hubby. Thank you to Providence Perfume for providing the sample.

Like Calvini below, I didn’t get any citrus from my sample. It’s a strong Amber on my skin. I have a love and hate relationship with amber. It’s bitter and sweet at the same time. Sometimes I think the bitterness is too overwhelming but during dry down, amber has this sweet, rich, intoxicating quality I’m addicted to. The floral notes are quite noticeable in Divine. But I would still consider it as unisex. It’s a deep, dark, complex fragrance. Update: this fragrance grows on me. I have used it a few times, and I like it more and more. I’m usually not a big fan of oriental perfumes. But this juice is intriguingly sophisticated, warm and sensual. It gives off a similar vibe as Serge Lutens’s Chergui.

This certainly lives up to its name. It is indeed Divine! It has a mossy, woodsy, chype orange feel that is warmed up by white flowers. It is feminine in a very natural way. It reminds me of Perfum d'empire's Azemour, but is more feminine and less mossy. This is a classy one that exudes confidence and comfort. Though it doesn't seem so, I bet this would be appropriate for any situation and any time of year. It probably changes a little with the seasons.

this opens with a lot of neroli and some toasty warm notes. later i get angelica and musk. it stays somewhat linear, but the amber and vanilla eventually grow stronger and it becomes warm and cozy. i am trying this in summer but think it might be better suited to the fall because of the warm, cozy notes. i love neroil/orange blossom and this is an interesting take on it. very pretty.

Very powerful orange opening that wanders spicy musky floral. Not a vanishing watery fragrance. I think a man could wear this, although it says for woman.

Smells like a head shop. In a good way. Like the scent of many incenses annd herbs all mingling together.

I've tried several of Providence Perfume's collection, and many of them are unique and skillfully made—but THIS is the one I find wrist-sniffingly addictive. The bright citrus zing greets you happily and almost smells very rind-y, like you have your nose in a big juicy half-peeled orange while standing in a flower garden, much like with Samarinda, a boozier oriental from Providence. But that cheery citrus smooths out to a sensual soft floral & vanilla dance through the drydown with some amber that is where the real magic happens for me because it feels musky and romantic and yet so comfortable. The sillage is excellent considering there are no synthetic fixatives, and this has led to many moments of me forgetting I had applied this scent on my wrist only to catch a waft in the air and think for a split second, "WHAT is that intoxicating scent!?" I find this less daring or creative than some of the other Providence scents I love, like Vientiane or Tabac Citron, but it's just as lovely and so wearable. I agree with NebraskaLovesScent—Charna is one of the rare natural perfumers who really proves that even with the highly limited palette of all-natural ingredients, you can create something that's not just "great natural perfume" but "great perfume."

When I first sprayed this, I thought of Lush's Karma. Though this is not a loud/screechy as Karma can be. It does have lots of silage on me, but it is oh so nice. To me this smelled like patchouli and oranges (Even though patchouli is not in the notes. I suspect that it is the combination of orange, orange blossom and amber/amberette..) This lasts forever on me. When it dries down it is this lovely sweet spicy thing. It surprised me how much I really like it.

I wonder if I was given a sample of Divine Noir instead...not only is the color the same as Cocoa Tuberose & Provanilla, it smells mossy/dusty/damp with a strong vintage vibe.. Where are the "bright" citrus & flowers??
