Jadeite

The short version: It's salty, linden blossom, pink peppercorn, lime, fresh mimosa (silk tree blossoms- not the yellow acacia blossoms), and resin. I love Jadeite!! She’s fresh, she’s green, and REFRESHING!!! Better than caffeine! Jadeite will probably never be my everyday go-to fragrance (some days I want to be dark, smokey, and hot), but hey, never say never! Jadeite is absolutely gorgeous! Bright, heady, and spicy without being hot, like seriously, not even remotely warming. Jadeite is definitely aromatherapeutic: uplifting, empowering, yet calming/stress eliminating. It's revitalizing. It's an upper without being a cheerful generic citrus bomb. The watermint + olibanum combo reads as pink peppercorn to my nose. If vanilla had an evil twin that was spicy and VERRRRRRDANT (green), she’d be in the mix. Against all odds she reminds me of a very fresh, very alcoholic, eggnog??!!? But don't worry there's no nutmeg or cinnamon. (Idk maybe my brain is short circuiting with that reference... Someone, please tell me if I’m crazy!!) This is the cold-spiced, aromatic, fresh green-floral you wear to stomp down the runway in otherworldly avant garde couture. Or perhaps... you are THAT wood nymph. The one who happens to be in goth-resortwear, checking in at the spa for her massage. I’ve never smelt anything like Jadeite (but I’m new to perfume so perhaps I’ll eat my words... I suspect not!). This was part of a limited run spring/summer release so I'm very happy I was able to snag a bottle before they're all gone.

Easy, comforting, refreshing, and uplifting. Like sipping on iced mint green tea with a lime garnish, while sitting on plush cotton/linen blend recliners, in a lush herb garden, wearing a straw hat on a beautiful summer afternoon.

Looks like I'm the first to review this. While I am a fan of Providence Perfume Company and think they put out unique perfumes this house has always been hit or miss w/ me. I wish it was more consistent because I am a big fan of natural perfumery and love buying from small houses like this. That being said this is not a perfume I could ever wear. It smells dry and dusty. It reminds me of the summers I spent working on my Great Uncle's Dairy farm in the 80's. We were in a terrible drought that whole decade (it makes me very grateful for rainy days) and we had to put up the hay on very hot days. The hay was so dry that there was hay dust everywhere and you would breathe a ton of it in and you would be covered in hay dust all day. The smell of this perfume reminds me of that dry hay dust. I don't get any linden blossom whatsoever, which is what I was hoping for. The mint is faint and watery, barely there. I am just getting this very dusty, dry hay like accord w/ a faint mint in the background. While I think it smells very natural it isn't really a perfume, it just smells like a hay barn on a very hot summer day, and we might be drinking a mint flavored drink to cool off. If you want to know what perfumes, I think are the best from Providence and actually smell like a perfume here they are in no order..... Rose Boheme, Basil and Bartlett, Love in a Mist, Rose 802, And Summer Yuzu. I own all of these and enjoy them. I also enjoyed her Provanilla that has been discontinued, which is a shame. That was a really good vanilla. I just finished my mini of Irisque and while it is ok it was a bit to earthy for me. Moss Gown is another good one but it suits my sister more and I gave her my rollerball of that. Oh and her Hindu Honeysuckle is nice, I don't have that one because my husband hated it w/ a passion. Plus it gave me a rash. But it is a pretty floral.
