Rose 802

This is an unapologetically beautiful rose perfume. It’s woodsy, deep, but not too dark. I’ve had a lot of rose fragrances: Frederic Malle Portrait of A Lady, Une Rose, Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin, Creed Fleurs de Bulgarie, Amouage Lyric... Among them, Rose 802 and Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin are my favorites. Rose has been used for a long time in human history as an important Ingredient to make fragrance. This makes rose almost a vintage scent. Many would even call it an old fashioned, outdated scent. But rose 802 reminds me why rose is, and probably will always be, the king of flowers. It’s unmistakably deep, intense, and intoxicating nuance is never replaceable by any other flowers. Sometimes I also layer this perfume with other fragrances (Vientiane, a sandalwood fragrance from the same house, or Isle from Skylar). It adds an interesting floral twist to these other perfumes. You can alter the amount you use, depending on how dominant you want the rose to be. This is an absolute love for me.

This is a beautiful rose perfume that I found just lovely even though it isn't me because it's kind of niche in a way that excludes me. But if you love roses AND coniferous trees, or grew up with them and find their scent magical in a transportive way, I highly recommend! The evergreen is light. Don't worry, you won't be smelling like a tree, but it's just enough there to be evocative. As a Florida girl, we just don't experience those magnificent beauties like everyone north of us, so no memories to be triggered. Those coniferous essences are fine in a Christmas-seasonal-transportive perfume, otherwise... I love that she made this and know it would be absolutely perfect for some women out there.

This perfume is a darker rose. A rose you wear in the fall or winter. Edit: 4/11/23 And here I am wearing it in spring LOL. This makes an excellent hair oil as well. I am layering it w/ Tocca Cleopatra mini and it makes a lack luster perfume like Cleopatra better. Both have a heavy black currant so it works. But I will always have Rose 802 in my collection. It is a beautiful animalic woody vanillic rose. This fragrance gets lots of compliments. Uber natural. It smells like nature. I've grown to really love it.

this opens with rose, greenery and something that smells like cocoa to me. perhaps it's the combo of cedar and vanilla (?) i am unsure. pretty earthy rose with a hint of sweetness. after awhile i get a little fruitiness from the black currant. it's like walking through woods with blackberry brambles and roses nearby. really evocative and pretty.

Like walking through a forest in the autumn crunching on heaps of dried leaves and rose patels beneath my feet. On me, this smells more like a floral cedar than a cedar floral. Dry down is powdery, dry, branch-like woodsy, with a touch of smokey crushed dried rose petals.
