African Gold

There's an island I visit every summer and a little path through the woods I take every day leading to rocky coast and the open view at the high seas; it's narrow from the pine trees and undergrowth and provides perfect shade while walking in usually very hot summer afternoons. I always take my time walking, enjoying the thin rays of sunlight breaking through the tall pine trees creating this specific, almost magical atmosphere. The ground is thickly covered with dry pine needles so every step is soft and stealthy, making me feel like I entered inside someones quiet, secluded home. Many times I feel happy or elated just being on this path like being in a presence of something (or someone) special like a dryad or a nymph, but I know it's only my imagination and many eyes of frightened lizards and hidden birds watching me as I pass by. Still, I admire and cherish this beautiful place, the place of wonderful and almost intact nature, my secret happy magical summer place. The smell of this place is inscribed in my mind forever, I can smell it right now as I am writting; it's the intoxicating scent of sun baked pinus nigra ssp. dalmatica needles - deep, rich, sappy, sweet fragrance, sharp as incense, sublimely simple as this forest cathedral. If I ever fail to recall this smell, if it somehow disappears from my memory, African Gold will hopefully remain as a faithful reminder.

I like this private blend of Pure Gold, they all have intriguing names. African Gold ... I don't get much of tobacco, but sweet and vanilla. The dry down is very sweet on me. I sometimes like to layer it with Tuscan Leather, feel that leather and tobacco should be hand in hand.
