1 Million Cologne

In 2008, the house of Paco Rabanne released a scent that became, almost immediately, a worldwide bestseller: 1 Million. To continue the 1 Million saga, there was the launch of a more concentrated version, in 2012, called 1 Million Absolutely Gold, which had fewer notes in its composition and of which little was heard about, here in Brazil. In 2013, the market won 1 Million Intense and in 2014 a commemorative limited edition, called 1 Million $, that brought the original composition of 2008. In April 2015, the company announced this fresh version, made for the summer, called 1 Million Cologne. It contains notes of cardamom, Mandarin orange, citrus nuances, and marine accord, in the output. Then, the heart brings an exotic mix of Juniper and roses, which comes on a base of patchouli, Indian tonka bean, and leather. The concept of the playboy still remains but in a more relaxed manner. 1 Million Cologne is a game of seduction with three steps: a refreshing swim, a touch of exuberance and a dose of disinhibition, to break the ice. And that is exactly how I interpret the fragrance. When it touches the skin, it's refreshing, fruity and juicy. Then, the heart reveals itself as a floral, with a luminous and lush rose that makes of this one the most shareable version of all, which is good news for women who love men's fragrances. Finally, a sexy and sweet base (don't expect to feel the leather), which guarantees success during the conquest. Unfortunately, for reasons of pure prejudice (already established with the entire 1 Million line), I think this cologne will be judged without proper attention. But, in my opinion, it is a wonderful fragrance, which brings the nostalgia of the fruity scents from the 80’s and 90’s, with a special touch that lies in the heart of the fragrance, causing it to break gender barriers, as it is done in the high perfumery. The only negative point that I see is the lack of the characteristic DNA of the line, which bothers me when dealing with flankers. 1 Million Cologne follows the latest trends in the market, which arrive with famous names, bringing products completely distinct. I don't particularly feel any resemblance to the other fragrances of the line. And before you ask me, I can say that the only similarity that I feel with the aroma of Invictus is the fruity accord, with the same mix of Mandarin and marine notes. But it is fast and does not determine the evolution. If we're going to talk about similarities, I think this scent is much more similar to Lacoste L.12.12 Red, within the fruity context. Yet, 1 Million Cologne presents powdery nuances and gives a sensation of bath taken, which grows over time. It exudes very well and lasted for more than 10 hours on my skin. Finally, the bottle shaped like a gold bar was kept but didn't bring the metallic application on the face. Now, the bottle is all glass, with yellow content and a gold lacquered paint inside, which reflects on all the sides, conveying light. I'm sorry for the exclusivity followers, but I loved this launch!

This is great! Much more versatile than the usual One Million in that this is light enough to be easily used in the daytime without causing offence. It's an interesting one, and all the listed notes are easily discernable, especially the rose and the patchouli. I think it's geared towards the warmer months, but it might work in cold weather too. Don't worry that this is stylised as a 'cologne' (in fact it's actually an EdT - it says so on the box) as its beautiful soapy boozy powdery drydown lasts at least as long as, and gives as much projection as many of the best eaux de toilettes on the market! And yes, in my opinion the bottle in actuality looks as lovely as I hoped it would from the pic! UPDATE: In warm/hot weather, performance is not as great as I first thought, turning into a skin scent on me within a couple of hours (makes me wonder whether testers are deliberately made to last longer than the versions that are actually on sale?). Anyway, the bottle is still drop dead gorgeous to me and i think the smell is unique and interesting for a 'freshie'. UPDATE 2: I've been using this in cold weather and the performance is now highly acceptable: 7-8 hours with good projection throughout, especially in the first three hours. Conclusion: For me this is definitely a cold weather fragrance and a bl**dy good one at that.

Fragrance -1 Million Cologne Paco Rabanne Bottle from - 2017 This is a story about a seductive yet elegant,citrusy and a bit spicy rose enchanted with some kind of sea magic with the tender trace of fine leather and a bit moderatly sweet tonka and patchouli. The original 1 Million DNA is there,but he took a bit different approach.I would say a lighter and more charming approach. Longevity - 7/10(7+ hours) Silage/Projection - 7,5/10(moderate projection for the first 2 hours,than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution) Weather - For more or less any time of year.Best in spring and summer.I personally wouldn't wear this on a really cold winter days. Versatility - 9/10 Age - 18+ Compliments - 8/10 Scent - 8/10 Main notes according to me - rose,mandarin,sea notes, cardamom,leather,tonka,patchouli. The drydown is moderatly sweet and leathery and I get some -leather,tonka,patchouli and spices. Emotions - seductive,romantic,charming,elegant. Occasion -for more or less any ocasion,perfect for date, romantic evening and night out. You'll get compliments with this one.

There's no arguing that there are many other, and perhaps, better hot weather cologne options one can reach for during the summer months! But, 1 Million Cologne is a very nice summer flanker, and an excellent addition for those that enjoy the original 1 Million. 1 Million Cologne will likely be easier for many people to wear during the hot summer days or nights. Whereas, many people will think the original 1 Million would be to strong/cloying for hot summer wear. 1 Million Cologne simply smells like a lighter, fresher, citrus, floral, and elegant version of 1 Million. (Essentially a water-down version, with reduced emphasis on the spicy notes, and emphasis on the citruses and florals) The good news is, 1 Million Cologne incorporates the same DNA of the original 1 Million, giving 1 Million Cologne the swag and masculinity that many people have come to love from the original 1 Million. Definitely get your nose on 1 Million Cologne, if you enjoy the 1 Million. Especially since 1 Million Cologne can be bought heavily discounted -- $49 or less! Overall: 8.5/10

I don't know much about 80's womens scents like others have mentioned, but what this does smell like to me, is VERY middle eastern. In a good way. Love. That. Rose. For the record, no, this does NOT smell anything like the original 1 Million, except for the rose. This is very clean, leathery rose paired with citrus on top of a soft patchouli base. The fruity-patchouli aspect is quite similar to Invictus, but I'll take this over the original invictus any day. This isn't at all sweet like you'd expect from the Paco Rabanne brand. This is a GREAT choice for a warm day, and 3 sprays will last you 8 hours or more, easily. I really don't know how this one is rated so poorly, or why so many seem to dislike it?! Maybe some of them got fakes? This is a great choice for a summer day. Give it a chance before you judge it, or throw it in the same category as 1 Million. This is absolutely something completely different, and I enjoy it quite a bit!

1 Million Versatile Version Before anything, just for the record: Don't be fooled by the "cologne" word in there. In this one, "COlogne" is just the new fragrance's name, not it's definition. As the box says, this one is an Eau de Toilette as well, like the original. This is not an Eau de Cologne, as many people think. This one is a nice flanker, a not-so-clubbing version of the original, very versatile, you can use it anywhere without being "akwward". Small rooms, a date with your girl, day, night, use it at will! Longevity and sillage are about 60-70% of the original I would say. (just a reminder, those factors are awkwardly huge in the original, too much, sometimes.) The scent itself seems like the original, thought it's noticeable less sweet, which is nice for a change, I think.

1 Million Cologne smells like something Kenzo would have released back in the early 2000's, except this is more potent. I couldn't say which one from Kenzo's collection (one of "l'eau par Kenzo" maybe?) but upon spraying 1MC I immediately had this recollection of me in my uni years spraying kenzo fragrances in the men's fragrances section. After a few minutes some aspects of 1 Millions' original DNA starts to become apparent, but never changing this cologne into something you'd never wear in the summer. Impossible to dislike. If you're in the market to get a bottle of 1 Million Cologne it is still available at some discounters at very affordable prices.

To me this is an aquatic-rose fragrance. I haven't found a lot of rose centered fragrances that I feel are masculine enough for me to enjoy wearing, but his is one of them that I like. It is on the sweet side for sure. The perfumers who crafted this actually worked on the 1 Million fragrance too. Women in my life seem to appreciate this. That is always a plus. I get excellent longevity with good transformation between application and dry-down. For the average man, I'd definitely test this before purchasing unless you are a committed rose fan. A smooth, beautiful, rose, citrus scent that really doesn't smell like anything currently on the market. I really don't get the Invictus vibe at all. For a cologne it lasts longer than most edt's. Yes the rose is fairly prominent, and it does smell a little feminine to me when you smell your skin, yet strangely it leaves a fresh masculine sillage in your wake. No female members of my family think this is feminine but they always think it smells wonderful when I wear it. Lovely light opulent frag that I wear when I want to feel good. It's just a pity it's discontinued.

I managed to find a tester of this for a reasonable price and am VERY happy about it! Easily my favourite from the One Million line, a line that I don't typically care for. It's fresh and clean with a sweetness that isn't too cloying and a surprisingly masculine floral component that improves even more as it dries down. Which brings me to the one setback. It's not much of a performer compared to its brothers in the line. And because it's discontinued, I intend to use this bottle pretty sparingly. Wtf is it with these guys discontinuing their exciting stuff?

Im surprised this has such low marks. This stuff is awesome. I dont really get the invictus comparisons. I also dont know if i pick up a TON of 1 million DNA. To me this is what YSL Ultime is to the YSL line for the 1 Million line. Overall this is my second favorite of the line next to absolutely gold and followed by the original. It also has the best presentation of the entire line you ask me. Longevity isnt the best at around 5-6 hours and it only really projects for the first 2 hours for me but thats okay. A super hidden gem that can be had cheap.

On me it has moderate to soft sillage with 6 to 8 hours longevity and smells like a 80s perfume for women. Its main notes on me were roses and aldehydes (the ocean notes) with leather and tonka notable as a delicious base.I think that it can be used by both men and women, but it skewers more feminine to me (in the less sweet 80s this clearly would be a marketed to women). I loved 1MC on me and as it is relatively cheap now will buy. Don't expect monstrous sillage though, it really is not loud, more like a romantic/seductive scent.

It's unfortunate that this fragrance was discontinued. I would say this is a unisex fragrance, but I wouldn't say it's feminine. Aquatic and clean scent with a sweet rose. Pretty good performance, especially for a freshie. Can be worn year round, but best for warm and hot weather. Sample it for yourself if you can, don't just automatically listen to the negative reviews. Even though it's discontinued, the prices as of this review are still good for this fragrance on ebay. Overall: 8/10

The opening is feminine, but for some reason it just really pleases me. I've never worn the original 1 million, but I'm sure I've smelled it. Citrus, florals and a hint of something dark. Its just one of those smells that you keep wanting to sniff. I wouldn't classify it as artistic, or a masterpiece - but out of all the amouage, boadicea, nasomatto and other niche scents I own - I pull for this one the most. It is what it is. And what it is is good. 7/10

I like your comments, Coppa, except for the "old lady" part. Old ladies do not wear any single perfume en masse, and if they do it is probably Scandal rather than One Million Cologne. And to say that rose is an old lady flower is to reveal a closed mind and nose. And mind you, each second makes you closer to being an old lady/men (curious that is not a similar stigma to old men) as we are all aging.

This is a feminine, rose based fragrance with a touch of citrus, and I love it! It's definitely not a safe blind buy, and I'd go as far as saying you'd need to be fairly secure in your sexuality to pull it off. Personally, I've been searching for a good rosey fragrance for years, and I've finally found it. It smells very similar to the perfume my grandma used to wear.

I just bought the giant 20 oz. 1 Million shower gel. Three sprays of the cologne after my shower and I smell amazingly sweet and fresh all day. I'm reading the original 1 Million has been reformulated. I had the original in 2008 when it first came out. 25 sprays before a club once. Memories. Anyhow is Prive the preferred evening version to the cologne?

It's a great, joyful summer evening scent. No, it is not similar to Invictus, which I hate. It is very smooth with no chemical mess that often destroys designer fragrances. I am surprised how low rate it has. And no, it is not feminine - I would quickly pick it up. Sure, more suitable for younger people, but I am fine with this in my 40ties.

Privé is more a bourbon/tonka take on the original,more muted and alcoholic and sweet but with the sweetness of tonka rather than vanilla in my skin.Cologne on me is rose/leather very different from the original.The tree of them are different scents on my skin, Intense is more like the original.

One of the most amazing scents i ever smelled. wow. the rose is so subtle and integrates like shower gel, Opening is not sweet. Strange beautiful citrus blast. Totally totally gorgeous. In a way reminds me a bit of a more floral Milestone. what an amazing discovery. just wow!

I was fortunate to find this $65 on Ebay! This frag is a nice compliment getter! Now is it worth over $100 that ebay sells it for? No. But... It does smell fantastic! If 1Million is a night club frag then 1Million Cologne is a summertime daytime yacht party.

It is really a strong smell! do not be fooled by the name cologne. I never smelled absolutely gold but I can say that is stronger than all other versions. wearable all year. I like it but it is still similar to all the other one million. 7/10

The opening of Paco Rabanne 1 million cologne is a bit feminine, but the dry down is fresh, sweet, and very masculine. The rose note is what stands out to me most. It's not for everybody, but definitely one of my favorites!

If you love Invictus Aqua, you can easily substitute with this. I have a bottle of Cologne and a vial sample of IA. They are so close, it’s comical. Buy whichever one is cheapest and you’re set.

This is my second review. One beyond a simple Sephora smell test. Rather than "blind buying" Paco Rabbane 1 Million Cologne I bought a sample sprayer off of eBay. I find 1 Million Cologne to be an aqua mix of the best parts of 1 Million flankers to that point including: citruses, rose (which is part of the reason I hate the original), leather and patchouli. It is nowhere as harsh as the original (as I mentioned in the previous Sephora smell test review) and it is a lighter scent (something I mentioned with the same review.) This seems to be the Dior Homme Eau or Dior Homme Cologne to 1 Million. I know, Of course it is the Dior Homme Cologne of 1 Million, the title is 1 Million Cologne. That said, the comparison fits. I get lots of citrus. In fact it is similar to the citrus opening of Sean John's 3 AM besides the tonic water that seeps in from the base with 3 AM. The ironic thing is both of these scents did come out about the same time with the same after-party themeing as 1 Million Cologne. 1 Million Cologne went with a straight after-party theme while 3 AM went with the "take me back to your place" theme. However, 1 Million Cologne is a far better peformer. Itt lasts longer in both projection and performance wise. I have 3 AM and honestly besides close encounters, I have to say 1 Million Cologne is far better than 3 AM. That said, I do not notice the comparisons to other cheapies like Deep Energy and Pitbull Man in 1 Million Cologne that I do in 3 AM. 1 Million Cologne gives you a nice projecting light pleasing scent that lasts about eight hours. I sprayed it on at 12:30 and still smell the base of it past 8:00 PM. 1 Million Cologne offers strong projection for about an hour and a half and another hour of a foot away, before becoming a skin scent. 1 Million Cologne is a good work, casual scent or an active date scent rather than it being a club banger like most 1 Million or even a date scent like 3 AM. Then again, maybe this could be a date scent but unless your date likes 1 Million and think it isn't "the brother/ex" scent. 1 Million Cologne is my second favorite 1 Million line release to 1 Million Prive. I rate 1 Million Cologne a 7.6 but I don't think I will buy a bottle too fast due to bills I have unless I find a great deal and have extra money.

This is a fresh, clean and slightly sweet masculine Rose. I don’t even like most rose fragrances, but this one was done well without smelling like potpourri. I gave my sample to one of my brothers looking for a clean smelling everyday fragrance. He really enjoyed it and didn’t think it smelled too feminine. I liked it best out of all of the one million flankers I’ve tried. I would love to smell this on a man. I could see myself wearing it too. As a woman, I do find it masculine. Way more masculine than say Amouage Reflection man or PDM Layton. Editing 04/2023 I’m finally getting around to buying bottles of everything I say I like instead of always trying new fragrances. I purchased a tester of this fragrance. It didn’t cost much more than trying to buy a sample of it. It’s been a couple years since I tried it. I get deodorant bar soap like zest or dial in a masculine fragrance called ocean, wave or aqua. Then a sweetness and spiciness creeps in. It’s has a similar rose to Amouage Lyric Man, but Lyric’s rose is not sweet. This rose smells kind of watery, but not like rose water. Lastly, the base notes create an older gentleman smell. Patchouli as a base note always smell like old man on my skin. It reminds me of Tom Ford Oud Wood. Oud Wood smells like an old fashion male fragrance being covered heavily by modern smelling notes. I think the same is being done with 1 Million Cologne. I know men think it smells like old lady, but it has hints of deep and sweet men’s toiletry items that I find very masculine. I’m not going to lie, companies can easily label an obviously male fragrance as a female’s and women would woo all over it saying it’s so girly. Victoria’s Secret Bombshell smells like men’s shaving cream with some citrus on top. So, I understand why some are calling this feminine. From a distance this smells fresh, soapy, spicy and aquatic with a hint of sweetness. If I stick my nose on where I sprayed, that is where the sweetness plus the old man fragrance intensifies. In most instances, no one is that close to where you spray yourself. I sprayed my wrist. When I flipped my wrist to the opposite side, the fragrance comes off different even though it is so close to where I originally sprayed. So, on-smellers will get the fresh version.

Those who have said that this is a mix of original 1 Million and Invictus are pretty much spot on IMO. Even though 1 Million Cologne contains the exact same marine note that's contributing the Invictus vibe here...in this application I find it at least tolerable, perhaps pleasant even. Unlike the combo of this aquatic note with the sickening fruits that Invictus contains, which was stomach churning to me. This flanker is well balanced and a nice addition to Paco's line...a warmer weather oriental. And even though this scent comes nowhere close to the original scent that I consider a modern day masterpiece.(remember to wear responsibly!;) There is still enough here to like for anyone who wants a more versatile and easy to wear version of 1 Million. I still get the citrus and cinnamon/light spice with suede from the original peeking it's head through the lighter Tonka/patch/marine note base. Longevity seems alright, but projection didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary. Although admittedly, I was using sprays from a sample. Still more testing to do. But do I find it full bottle worthy??? Personally, at this point....no. But that doesn't mean it's not good or worth having. I say definitely try it for yourself, it's at least worth getting your nose on it.

I deleted my previous review after buying this and becoming more familiar. At first, I didn't think that I really liked it, but there was something about that just really draws me in. The rose is not harsh or sharp at all (it is mellowed out by the sweetness, soapiness, and citrus). The soap is most prominent in the first few minutes, but remains in the background for the duration of the scent (easily surpassing 8 hours, even when it's cold). Maybe there is something vintage inspired about this, especially the leather, patchouli, and rose, but it still is very appropriate for a younger crowd. Personally, I find the original scent to be a little out of balance and lacking in versatility, I think that this flanker is definitely better, and it still definitely related. This is probably less masculine, but I don't think it really toes the line, especially for a rose scent. This is really a wonderful scent, versatile, pleasant, and suitable for a wide range of people. It may not be the best blind buy, but it is available at many stores. I think this is more appealing than the original, and is definitely something that should be tried!

I will give credit for Paco Rabanne on this one. The cologne version of his infamous 1 million is a million times better than the EDT, EDT intense, and the absolutely gold combined. The cologne version strays too much from the original that you feel they are not related at all. It is less sweet, and more inmportantly not cloying at all. For me this is a blast of patchouli, rose, leather and cardamom. The sea note, and tonka are in the background. It performs decently: Lasts for nearly 5 hours and the projection is soft. Kind of what you expect from a cologne. All in all, I say good job for Paco Rabanne, I gave a quick test to this perfume with nearly no expectations and I was positively surprised. However, for me, there are a lot of better colognes in the market to really consider buying this one. Also the bottle is very elegant and beautiful. EDIT: I've come to realize that this cologne have massive staying power. It lasts easily for the whole day. Another plus factor to add. Very good stuff indeed.

On my sample it says EDT.. Perhaps the "cologne" is just part of the name and doesn't mean concentration. In either case, it is a lighter version of the original for sure. This is softer and smoother, with the added floral note. This gives off more of a soft trident bubble gum feeling, while the regular 1 million (vintage) gave off more of a "juicey fruit" gum.. If that makes sense. I like it, on first impression, but as it is drying down, It kind of feels a little bit on the feminine side.. Probably the rose. Depending on your chemistry, this seems like it has the potential to start smelling a little girlish, but we shall see. I do like the opening though. The longevity and proj also seems to be suspect, but not sure of that either.

Smells nice like another reviewer posted it does smell a tad bit like invictus mixed with one million but lighter this for me is good I'm more into this one than the original I'm not a fan of heavy sweet fragrances but imo although this is a light scent it still can be worn year round not like the original can only be worn during cool weather the cologne version does kind of remind of some shampoo or hairspray that my girl use but I still like it though I haven't bought it yet but I'll eventually get around to it for the time being this gets a like and 7/10 imo better than the original it's smoother not as loud or obnoxious

A lighter version of the original. On my skin, this starts quite spicy, anise in particular. It was not very good to be honest. I noticed people getting different opening then me, so maybe it's my skin. As it dried down, the spicy edge faded & the original but lighter version of the original 1 Million sweet spiciness appeared, accompanied by a light, soft rose. It's good, I like it except for that opening. A good pick for the fans of the original, especially those who like rose or want a light version of 1 Million to wear at home or work or just a night out. "Like" but pass for me personally.

Wore this on a successful date last night. It's a good, serviceable fragrance that gets some usage in my rotation. Definitely a summer time scent that has some personality and not your typical aquatic. Picture a summer time version of 1 million. Scent: rose, water, and citrus all mixed together with the Tonka, orange DNA present. Performance: the date said she noticed it when we 1st met, but had to lean in close to me at the 4 hour mark towards the end of the night. It's ok, nothing strong, typical designer edt. Season: summer, but I will rock this in the evening and night. 3/5

1 Million Cologne is a fragrance that has nothing to do with the original 1 Million. This one is more mature and that cleanliness from the rose note, resembles me the top notes of Kouros. It's very funny cause these 2 perfumers had made the Silver version of Kouros which is more simillar to 1 Million than this one. Again, this has a fresh clean-beach-y vibe going on but i prefer the Kouros Silver because is more appealing and more contemporany. This one i recomend for a guy that wants to kinda smell like Kouros but more toned down and more fresh. I give this one a 6/10.

Scored the large bottle at Marshalls for $49. There is alot happening in this fragrance. It took a long while for me to get used to it. I smell alot of different flowers in this. I also smell spice. It's very charming once you get used to it. It could be pulled off as being manly. Although I could see this being a unisex fragrance. It is powerful even though it is supposed to be designed as a lighter cologne. For me I only use 2 sprays or maybe 3 in very cold winter weather. I would not recommend to use this in hot weather. Lasts long..

The following is from a smell test at Sephora: This was a fresh take on the 1 Million scent. It in a way was Invictusing up Million. What I mean by that it is making it more daytime acceptable and less of a cinna-bomb like the original. It takes all the good of 1 Million and slowly tames it down while giving it a more fruity and acceptable open. Smelt good on one of those pieces of smell paper at Sephora but I have to wonder if it works with me on skin. Maybe someday I'll find a reasonably priced tester to well, test.

Cologne has a fresh, soapy vibe with aldehydic rose and a touch of citrus—it’s clean but still has that classic feel. The tonka is really dialed down here, so it doesn’t get too sweet or heavy. Feels like a vintage scent that’s been modernized, but in a subtle way. To me, it’s nothing like the original 1 Million, which I still love, even though it gets a lot of hate. That one was huge back in the days, like 10-15 years ago. Cologne version? It’s alright...only that.

This fragrance is absolutely amazing, it smells like a fresh version of one million with toned down silliage and longevity. Good cologne to wear every day on almost every occasion. Not offensive for anyone. My girlfriend abosolutely loves this one. Its also cheaper than the original one million, great bang for your buck. Longevity: 6-7 hours Sillage: About an arm length Rating: 8.5/10 (wouldve liked some more longevity)

Em minha opinião, o 1 Million Cologne é um perfume excepcional. Minha mãe o presenteou ao meu pai há cerca de oito anos e, possivelmente devido ao processo de maceração ao longo do tempo, sua fragrância tornou-se ainda mais agradável. Possui um cítrico marcante e muito bem trabalhado, e a combinação com a rosa resulta em um conjunto harmonioso. Além disso, apresenta ótima fixação — uma pena ter sido descontinuado.

I just tried on paper and I found more mature, not as sweet like the edt. I think it's not bad at all, it doesn't enormous or aggressive. Another time I'd like to try it also on my skin:) update: On my skin smells more masculine than the regular 1 million, more watered and I can feel pineapple note like in Black xs l'excés...

I bought this, but i don't know why:D I don't know really that I like this smell or not. Not like the original 1 million, not sweet, fresh but has own depth, more serious, rose-juniper-citrus the main notes which I can smell, I find it little bit feminine. I think it doesn't smell cheap...

Just smelled it today. It's not bad, it's quite Fresh, fruity and citrusy... But... It does smell like Invictus - more than 1 Million actually. Think that's a bit akward. The bottle looks great, better than the original. Unfortunately it's not really for me.
