1 Million Intense

In 2008, Paco Rabanne has released a cologne that became, almost immediately, a worldwide record sales: 1 Million. It was created to conquer faithful users, where every detail of its conception was thought to generate followers and awaken the greed and the desire of others. Its bottle was inspired by a gold bar, having as line of thinking, the idea that in all civilizations and religions, the gold has always been used to seduce people. In addition, the scent is amazing and powerful. The result of this combination of luxury and power, became one of the biggest cases of sale, in recent years, in the world of masculine perfumery. The success was so big that the popularity achieved by sales came to be seen as something negative for some, who judge the fragrance as an exclusive piece of seduction, created for the "playboy" who gets what he wants, with a simple snap of fingers, as was shown in the ad campaign. However, it was not just this public who sympathized with the mixture of insolence, seduction and elegance brought by this cologne. Young men were seeking new weapons of seduction for their unfinished nights, in which it would be need something more to help them stand out amid the crowd. It is ready the recipe for success! Now, to continue the 1 Million saga, Paco Rabanne has released recently, a more powerful version yet, called 1 Million Intense. In fact, in 2012, there was the launch of a more concentrated version called 1 Million Absolutely Gold, with less notes in its composition and with more floral aspect and a rich leather. Little was heard about it here, in Brazil. So, let's get down to business in this review: talk about 1 Million Intense! Basically, this version was born respecting the title received, which means it is an intense version of the traditional, with a little change in its composition, retaining the DNA of the original version and praising parts of evolution that deserved a greater prominence before. So, what's changed? Well, just in the beginning, we no longer have the mint. Now, the composition brings the sweet cardamom, allied to a pepper, that warms the senses, as well as notes of saffron and red mandarin (or blood mandarin). At 1st sight, it can be felt a more "juicy" scent, almost “vanillaish” and fruity than in the original version. In the heart, the rose and cinnamon were kept, but the mix of spices gave way to neroli (orange flower oil), extolling, even more, the fruity fragrance tone. At this point of evolution, when the heart notes are more noticeable, the rose and neroli absolute reign, for hours. Finally, an even more creamy base, without the amber and the wood notes, but with the presence of sandalwood and iris butter (which is not as dry as the notes taken from its root). The notes of leather and patchouli were maintained. The bottle suffered a slight change: the back, in dark glass before, now has a golden hue (gradient), giving greater sophistication. The projection is terrific for about 3 hours, getting quieter as it evolves on the skin; the lasting is as good as in the original version. In my opinion, we have reached a new level!

Yeah, I can definitely see how someone could see this as grape soda, but it's also much more than that. This and 1 Million Absolutely Gold are two of the best fragrances in my collection. They both have one of the absolute best openings of any fragrance I've had the opportunity to smell. With this one being a little louder and sweeter, while Absolutely Gold is a little brighter and more effervescent in the opening. But both are equally amazing, and I definitely think that they are the best of the 1 Million flankers. So why do brands make such awesome fragrances and then just discontinue them? I have no idea, but that is most definitely what is happening with this line. And now to top it off, I hear that 1 Million Prive' is getting axed as well!!! If that is true I will be grabbing a backup bottle asap and I've already been trying to find a good deal on backup bottles of 1 Million Absolutely Gold and 1 Million Intense. But if you like sweet, deep, sexy, and loud fragrances you are pretty much guaranteed to like this one, if you can find it. I just wish I had more of it than I do. If you have the opportunity to get your nose on this stuff don't pass it up!!! Edit: After spending about four more months with this fragrance I can tell you that the saffron and orris are what really shine and set this apart from the original. I really like Absolutely Gold, but there's no doubt in my mind now that this is the absolute best fragrance in my collection!!! That might not be saying much because I've only got about a hundred or so in my collection, but this is an absolute masterpiece among them. I'm on the hunt for at least one backup bottle and maybe more if I run across a real good deal.

This was one of my favourite fragrances. I’m so sad this is discontinued. I feel like this was one of Paco Rabanne’s best offerings out of the 1 million line. I only got a 50ml bottle when I was broke. I wish I could purchase a 200ml or two now because I can but it’s unfortunately not available anymore. Flash back to 2015 I needed to head to some seminar that was being conducted at work. I shit you not I witnessed a girl get seduced in real time as in, I could feel her feelings developing as the scent was slowly developing and progressing through its notes/accords. I was doing nothing and wasn’t even trying to flirt with her and I had no interest to I just happen to wear this while being sat next to her at work( yes I wore this to work a couple of times who cares). I was fully cognizant and amused at what was unfolding infront of my eyes : Her talk getting more sweeter and flirtier, her body shifting towards me, her acting cute and smiling way more than needed and asking me personal questions. Bear in mind when I first took the seat next to her she seemed a mildly upset cause she probably reserved that seat for a friend or someone I guess. It’s an indescribable feeling of what I witnessed that day. That was the day I fully understood the power of scent. From then on whenever I wore this I had an air of confidence (never tried to attract with this but just knowing that I was literally harnessing a weapon on my skin/clothes which could, put my confidence through the roof) Guys, 1 million lucky: next best thing: get your hands on it before it gets discontinued. Edit 2025: cringe I should probably delete this but it’s a true story lol

I was initially surprised by how rose dominated this is, and more so how light the rose smell is. I was expecting a more intense 1 Million, but if anything, this is a LOT lighter. Just as strong and long lasting, but definitely less "heavy". This should have been in a red tinted bottle and called "1 Million Roses" instead! It's literally half 1 Million and the other half is a very strong yet light rose, which is actually what people notice about this scent when I wear it. I'm finding that the leather stands out more in this as well, especially towards the end of its life, but the rose sticks around with the leather until the end. With that being said, I don't get a ton of compliments on this one, but I still like it a lot! Sometimes you just can't replace the urge to smell like roses... I've also found that the dry down of this layers quite well with Tuscan Leather clones, and the end result is very interesting! Try it if you can! You'll be pleasantly surprised! All things considered, this is a great scent. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but this is very nice and can even be worn in the office when applied lightly. Who doesn't love the smell of roses?! Lastly: In my opinion, Armaf's Tag-Him Prestige is what an "Intense" 1 Million should have been - deeper, smoother, more complex. If this scent wasn't what you were looking for, but you would like a deeper, smoother, and slightly more floral version of the original 1 Million's dry down, try Tag-Him Prestige! At only $18 for a 3.4oz bottle, you really can't go wrong! This and 1 Million are in my top 15, but Tag-Him Prestige is in my top 5!

Well, I finally got this, only because I was at my local Goodwill, and behind the counter, I see that familiar "1 Million" packaging, so I assume it's like a body wash our something, but nope, it's the actual fragrance, sealed in the box. I was going to buy a guitar I found there, but then I noticed the neck had been repaired (poorly might I add) So I hand it back, and I say "How much for that cologne right there?" The lady looks, there's no price tag, and she says "5 bucks." To which I say, "I'll take it." So, I already own one million, which I'd actually say is still a lot stronger than this flanker, but I think I like this one better, it's actually toned down, mixed better, and not in your face the way the original is. I find this one to be a bit more mature than its big brother, and balanced a lot more carefully, it's also not as sweet and cloying, which can be a good thing. If you're a fan of the original, odds are you'll like this one too.

I find this IMO a lot nicer then the original, I think because I like a nice rose note in perfume, && here it is deff. more prominent. I thought b/c this was an Intense version it be overly strong and cloying b/c I thought the original was enough, && yes the initial spray does comes off a bit loud but that doesn't last long && with the dry down it just gets nicer and nicer. What you pretty much have is a spicy rose scent, the rose here really helps smooth & soften the scent up a bit and also adds kind of a unisex quality to it. Longevity is fantastic, lasting through my shower any fragrance that can do that is tops for me & sillage is pretty wonderful too, might have to snag a bottle of this for a new fall/winter scent, reminds me a bit of Xmas too! Nice for anyone who finds the original lacks a bit, give it a try! :) Overall: 10/10

@johnnyjazz That's a funny way to preface an overtly opinionated and subjective review. Like it or dislike it, that's up to you. But don't offer up an "honest and objective" review when it only reflects your personal, extremely isolated experience with it. It adds nothing and takes much away. This is apparently a love/hate fragrance. I lean toward the love side. It's a smoother, more leathery version of the original, which I expected to hate but actually quite like. That's just me tho. Completely subjective, as are all reviews.

Take the original 1 million (and i mean ORIGINAL, before all the reformulations). Then amp it up, make it more sensual and upgraded and more character. Smells like 1 million edt but made gorgeously characterized and not as simple. The og 1 million before reformulations had strong performance, and considering this is that but amped it you can expect it to go crazy. Hidden gem in plain sight. To put simply, take 1 million, give it a nice haircut and shower with a fire suit on and this is what you get, the upscale 1 million.

I just got this as a gift and i love,love,love it even if i already had the other version of it,in the 200 ml bottle. Smells a lot like the original but it's also different,richer,it's intense and powerful but not as "in your face" as the 1 million is,maybe a bit less sweet and on the dry down i can smell the difference. Great silage and it's the most long lasting fragrance i ever tested! Masterpiece fragrance for the young crowd, for clubbing and cold weather,casual and trendy As far as i care it's a 10 out of 10!

Carlitos, I red your opinion and as I have both fragrances I just sniff them... yes there is a strong similar vibe between the two fragrances. In terms of strategy it does not make a lot of sense to Fraglux/Cuba. I was waiting for Cuba Prestige Legacy to be included in the fragrance database to ease up any comparison I would like to do. I think you got it - bulls eye. And guess what... I sometimes shop in fragrancenet,com and in the US this Cuba Prestige Legacy is named Cuba Prestige Gold .

I'm just going to redo this whole review and make it very simple. This Intense rendition is for those who just didn't like the original version for any number of reasons. This is darker, spicier, and smoother. It is less loud with the same longevity, all while being less synthetic. This is honestly more interesting than the original. At least give this one a shot before you dismiss it and the 1 Million name completely. You may be surprised.

1 MILLION----I N T E N S E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! Can this gold bar Get any stronger, it already lasts over 12 hours on me with amazing Projection, will this New version now last over 12 Days on your skin even after bathing??????? LOL. Aah well. When it releases I will be testing this out. Who knows this may just actually be a Brilliant release or Paco may hold his head in shame. And now with bated Breaths We Wait.

This is an absolute monster! I loved it. I have the original 1 million too. Both are great. This one has different middle notes which are "pungent and bitter" to be honest. But the opening and dry down is amazing! It does have a spicy pungent vibe in it, thats not in the original but it's not in the dry down. Totally a party colonge! 5/5 for me. Everything Perfect. P.S. It ain't your daily colonge.

This is a scent in the style of the XXI century. Modern, irreverent, provocative and charming ..... Perfect. With an impressive longevity and projection, this perfume is without doubt essential for all young people who love to live life in a relaxed manner, focusing on their individuality in conjunction with the environment that surrounds them. I love this 1 Million Intense.

Spicy and leathery 1 mil edt. It’s good they discontinued it, make room for the elixir n other flankers. Tou can’t go wrong with these millions... people forgot how good this is... invictus, sauvage, elixirs. When you wear this, you’ll trigger memories for everybody around you. Edt, parfum, intense. They all work. Good sillage, good projection, long lasting. Not beastmode!

I finally got my hands on a bottle! I only discovered this frag after it was discontinued and I absolutely love it! Sweet bubblegum similar to the original but stronger, strong citrus, leather and rose. That's all I can make out. Everytime I smell this is makes me feel something, I'm not sure what exactly. Just amazing, but I can understand why its loved or hated

Before buying this one, i have used the original version for about 4 month. The base note is no different than the original one, just like sweet sweet bubble gum , but in the opening i smell something difference, rose maybe. in the end i think this one is better than the original one million, smells sweeter and more floral. Sillage : 8/10 Longevity : 9/10

@5228R are you kidding me?No sillage and longevity? 1 million (especially the intense version) is well known for it's projection and super longevity regardless type of skin!This is a monster,with 4-6 sprays you can intoxicate a room full of ppl and and it lasts,noticeable, for 10-12 hours at least! You must have tried a fake one!!!

This is really awesome fragrance 1 million intense i am really love this fragrance because this product have chemistry with my skin. This is my 2rd bottle i was buy. this is great product from Paco Rabanne. Scent 8/10 Longevity 8/10 Projection 8/10 #For fragrances lover must be have this 1 million Paco Rabbane.

OG 1 Million with a dense, mature profile. Rose/spice dominate. Sprayed once on each wrist and it jumps off the skin. I expect great longevity based off first impressions. I will be layering the OG over it which will make a nice combo. Purchased a new 2013 tester for $140 which is a decent price.

Can anyone tell me how good is this in terms of longevity and projection, as of right now? Any difference between 2013/2014 batches and the ones which came out more recently? I love the scent but I don't wanna buy something that will last me 1-2h and then just fade away.

Don't let the word Intense turn you off from this fragrance, it's actually a much more palatable version. If you wanted to like 1 Million but wished it was turned down just a bit so that you could wear it more casually, I highly recommend giving this one a chance

"Intense" doesn't mean more powerful in this case, it means different notes or different balance of the same notes. I get more longevity and sillage with Allure Home Sport instead of the Extreme version. Also with L'eau d'issey / L'eau d'issey intense.

This stuff is masculine... Delicious fragrance....it lastes very long and the sillage is legendary... But you should wear it only when you've just taken shower, unless it will smell awful. Fortunately it is not reformulated... Never and ever.

Agree who thinks it's reformulated. I got only 1 hour of good projection, later just a skin scent. Longevity too, only (for 1 million) 5 hours. I like Intense more than original, just sadly it became pretty weak compared with older version.

I had almost a year without smelling this and now I think it's amazing. Mandarin orange, black pepper, cinnamon and a rose undertone. I really like the mandarin orange in here. So cool, it's not like the original 1 million, which I dislike.

tbh i actually prefer this to the original, its not as sweet, alot more vibrant rather than deep & sickly. i guess this could be more versatile than the original, even be used on a warm day if applied lightly. overall id give this: 7.5/10

I love this scent but it reminds me of a womans fragrance I like... So I guess ( and especially considering its drydown) they can also call this Viva La Juicy For Men / Por Homme by Juicy Couture. The scent is very attractive nonethelesss

Got a tester 4 this one and didn't know it was a men's perfume. Very unisex if not female. Good for summer nights. Animalistic aquatic sexy cozy slightly fruity but in a mature way. Hate the packaging

Honestly, exactly what the original needed in my opinion. Quieter, though still strong, darker and amped up rose, but more masculine. Lasts about 12 hours, but closer to the skin after about 4 hours.

Scent 9/10 Longevity 9/10 Projection 10/10 I get noticed, It garners compliments A powerhouse of a fragrance and an improved version if 1 million that will get you noticed. Not for office wear though

This is surprisingly good. Whatever this slightly bitter tone here is together with something generally sweeter kind plus neroli (these three are all I can smell), it is a very nice composition.

There's always been something too harsh that i didn't like in the original, this version is smoother for me. Two sprits lasts all day, everyone around me dig it, what else do you ask for?? 8/10

My 2 cents... My bottle is from 2013. Rose carries this fragrance with the blood mandarin still quite present to my nose. It's a brighter rose smell, maybe the saffron is doing something to it? Saffron is something I'm not really familiar with as a singular smell or taste. Doesn't smell as syrupy as the other 1 Million flankers I have...Original, Prive, Parfum, Lucky, Elixir. I've always eaten too much spicy food and so I don't pick up "pepper" or "spicy" from most (not all) fragrance DNAs. Anyway, pepper and spicy aside, I can detect most of the notes (that I'm familiar with), but they're very much in the background. I really like cinnamon in fragrance, I don't pick it up much until it's a little into the dry down, which is where the leather, sandalwood and 1 Million familiarity start to become present too. I would say leather and rose standout the most to me after a few hours, but blood mandarin lingers and I get sandalwood in the mix. I think you can still tell it's a 1 Million flanker, but it's more of a mature version like Prive... hands down my favorite. Don't wear this around your biker/manly friends, they might look at you funny because rose really is the dominant note in this fragrance (to my nose). I wouldn't wear this on any of the first 8 or 10 dates with a new woman, she might think it's a little feminine too. I guess it depends on the woman. Unlike most reviewers, I think this is great for spring and summer because it's quite floral and not as syrupy as you'd expect from 1 Million. I'm way less likely to touch this in the winter. Glad to have it in the collection, I'll wear it more than Lucky.

Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense is a discontinued early flanker of the original 1 Million, a slightly denser and less fresh variant of the original, still with the sort of bubblegum candy sweetness but not quite as bright/fruity/citric as the original. The note breakdown is actually very similar between the two, so the main distinction (in terms of emphasis) is that Intense has less citrus and more cinnamon and leather, and perhaps a little more rose, as well. Still, the effect is that it’s fairly similar to the original while coming off a bit more nuanced and perhaps more appropriate when subtly is needed, less the “clubbing” scent that the original is sometimes reputed to be. I like Intense just as I like the original, but my favorite offering in the line remains Absolutely Gold, which takes a lot the sweetness and achieves a better balance, in my opinion, between the sweeter elements and the rest of the notes, which lean a bit more floral. Still, Intense is a nice alternative to the original for htose that enjoy the sweetness but want something a little less bright and loud but more rewarding its dryer elements. 7 out of 10

I write honest review like always, from my experience. I got this on trade with a friend. i liked the smell and based on rating here on fragrantica (longevity rated as "very long lasting" and sillage rated as "enormous")it was no brainer so i get it. it was tester bottle from 2013 with batch 30141. I liked it so much that i also purchased a full 50ml bottle unpacked, also from 2013 with 33371 batch. So according to batches there is no chance that it was reformulated.They smell exactly the same and perform the same. The problem is that i get pretty poor projection, average at best....not just on skin but if i spray my clothes its the same...Anyone else had same experience with this fragrance? So i really dont get these ratings here, according to that it should be a beast mode but its pretty average. Longevity is good though but i dont care much for that if it doesnt projects. This is not the first time i get some fragrance even blindly according to ratings here, and i get disappointed.

Well i tried One Million Intense today and this is really nothing spectacular. The first time i tried and found One Million in 2008, i got overwhelmed. I went to the store to buy an other scent, but ending up buying One Million instead. The Intense version is in the beginning a sort of the same. But in the middle and end of the drydown, to me it smells like a soft leather note and a bit stronger rose note. I got a good spray an my left wrist of the original and a on my right the intense version. The intense version is still there and projecting a little bit after almost 9 hours and the original is almost gone (nose to the skin to smell it) I wanted to buy the intense version, cause i'm still in love with the original version. And there is a good discount price at the moment, after testing it. It is just not worth it, to me. My advice, try before you buy. My top 3 of the One Million line: 1. One Million 2. One Million Absolutely Gold 3. One Million Intense

1 Million Intense is a powerful, very heavy cold weather scent for men. The best thing of it is the dry down proccess when it develops its ingredients. The opening is quite harsh, for some seconds I get a very heavy smell of an old grocery store with a smell of strong fabric softener. But after about 5-6 minutes it becomes a nice strong and deep sweet masculine scent. The longevity and the projection are monstorous, about 10-11 hours stays on skin. With just 2 sprays, you can fill a whole room. Be careful not to overspray, you do not want to have nausea and to choke everyone in a 2 meter radius!! LOL!! I recommend it for winter, fall and cool spring days. The most distinguished notes I get are rose, sandalwood, cinnamon and saffron. It is very strong and intoxicating but playfull scent. Definitely not for formal occasions. I like it!

Tested today the intense. I had the original 1 million long ago. First impression is very weird, smells like rotten/bitter rose on my skin, similar just a little bit to the older brother without the strong sweet synthetic smell, rather dry/rotten rose dominating, after about 1 hour the dry down is simple leather with a hint of cinnamon, so different than the other, on me this version is not so harsh and aggressive, more sophisticated. I feel the difference, the intense name is suitable, because more strong and deeper the rose/leather note, I like better this juice already. After 9 hours still on my skin and I feel the original 1 million in flat version. So very long lasting stuff

Lots of cinnamon from the atomizer and initial opening but less on skin. Drydown is great and I can identify all the base notes even though it's well blended. Most prominent are orris and leather. Lasts a good amount of time as well. Winter or fall fragrance exclusively because it's strong. I'm not getting code absolute profumo (which I own and have always liked) because code has tonka and lavender. I'm also not getting grape soda thank God. People also think downhill century smells like grape soda which I always found strange as well. But I digress- This is different and lasts longer than code. Good juice!
