Lady Million

Lady Million Eau de Parfum by Rabanne is beautiful, ultra-feminine, glamorous and powerful. It opens with bright raspberry and gentle neroli, its citrus notes flashing like jewellery catching the light, but the fragrance quickly settles into its true character: a rich, sensual blend of white florals drenched in honey and warmed by patchouli and amber. Many sweet fragrances aim for softness or innocence, while Lady Million aims for neither. Instead, it is bold, self-assured and commanding. The honey note is dense and golden rather than edible, while the jasmine and orange blossom add a lush, almost narcotic quality. The result feels extravagant and slightly theatrical; the olfactory equivalent of gold heels and a perfectly timed entrance. Performance is one of its strengths. On my skin, it projects well and lasts for hours, leaving a warm floral-honey trail that remains recognisable long after the brighter opening has faded. Lady Million is definitely not a fragrance for minimalists. Some may find it too sweet or too assertive, particularly in hot weather. It thrives in the evening, during cooler months, or whenever subtlety is not the objective. More than fifteen years after its release, Lady Million remains popular for a reason. It captures a very specific fantasy: luxury, confidence and excess. Whether that feels irresistible or overwhelming will depend entirely on the wearer. For me, it succeeds because it embraces its own boldness without apology. It smells less like wealth itself than like someone thoroughly enjoying the idea of it. While I wear fragrances to suit myself depending on my mood and the occasion, I have noticed that Lady Million is one perfume that regularly receives compliments. I've been told it smells beautiful and expensive. Well, it's definitely beautiful yet, thankfully, quite affordable! My only real complaint is the bottle. Inspired by a cut diamond, it looks glamorous and distinctive, but the design is surprisingly impractical. Because the base comes to a point, the bottle cannot stand upright and must be stored on its side. It's a rare example of a perfume bottle that seems to have forgotten the basic requirements of being a bottle. Thankfully, Lady Million smells far better than its packaging functions.

White-Floral Bouquet of Jasmine, Orange-Blossom & Neroli... Opens with a citrus-fruity burst of raspberry, neroli & lemon that deepens into a white-floral heart of jasmine, orange-blossom & gardenia, all resting on a floral support base of white-honey, patchouli and amber. To me this is overall a white-floral bouquet of jasmine, orange-blossom & neroli highlighted. I get citrus, clean laundry & honey with marshmallow white-florals in the background. Over time the patchouli comes out. Well above average performance for a year-round wearing experience. Contrast to Lady Million Pac-Man Collectors' Edition: These are very close. Comparing them side by side, the patchouli may be ever so slightly forward in Lady Million Pac-Man bring a slightly stronger performance. Contrast to Lady Million Royal: These are different, but the Lady Million DNA is still very present in Lady Million Royal. The marshmallow facet is a little more forward in Lady Million Royal which has a softer overall approach. Overall: I think this was ahead of its time, with many 2022-23 designer releases having this kind of vibe. Well above average performance. You can't go wrong here. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

I’ve gone through 2 bottles of this already and it’s probably my all time favourite fragrance ever. I originally got gifted this when I was 16 from a middle aged lady who said it’s also her favourite fragrance. I also got a compliment on it from a store attendant who said she bought it as a gift for her aunty but “didn’t know it was that”, however it is not mature AT ALL. This is versatile for many occasions and ages, from winter to summer. It is fresh and clean, but also sweet with a light honey note. The jasmine and florals is also really strong in this but with the other notes it’s not a “floral” scent. It is sort of a generic, and has an obnoxious feeling to it (it smells amazing I think it just kind of a “loud” scent without actually being loud). It is not delicate and quaint nor really elegant, but it smells AMAZING. I find this needs to sit for a while for it to be the scent I love, when it is a fresh bottle I get disappointed because it’s very light and doesn’t have the richness, but otherwise it is a fragrance with decent longevity and I can smell this on me all day.

This perfume used to be my signature before I received angels and demons le secret, but I constantly go back to it because there’s nothing like it. The smell is just ethereal. It’s so elegant and I don’t think anything else smells like it, it’s truly a scent completely on its own like angel by mugler. It’s light but sweet yet has the elegant musk and spice to it that makes you truly feel like the fanciest lady in the room when you wear it. The silage is strong but not overwhelming and when it goes with your skin chemistry it’s just incredible. It’s one of the few perfumes where I just want to bathe in it every day because the smell is so addicting. For me at least it also lasts an eternity, I can smell it for days on me and my clothing. For anyone who smells good in la nuit Tresor a la Folie or la nuit Tresor la nuit, angels and demons le secret or angel by mugler this perfume will be absolutely stunning on you and I think you’d be able to just blind buy it.

Not for everyone, I highly recommend skin testing (not strip testing!) this scent for a few hours before making the plunge. Has been my signature scent for the better half of a decade now and I have received countless compliments, several by women who have worn Lady Million before and not liked it on themselves, and even once by my own friend who was wearing the exact same one at the time. An all seasons bright floral that is both appropriate for office wear and date night. I have received compliments on this perfume after applying it 10+ hours beforehand, and I can smell it on my laundry when I pull it out the hamper days after wearing it. The sillage throws quite a long way but it’s not overpowering, it lingers beautifully. Good value, the perfume itself is at a reasonable price point already but its longevity and sillage really make it worth it.
