Olympéa Aqua Eau de Parfum Légère

CLEOPATRA'S SCENTED BATH. Opens with clementine & lemon-blossom that evoke neroli & orange blossom (with nods to Island Hawaii Michael Kors), and continues into a solar water-jasmine heart, resting on a salty vanilla & ambergris base. Imagine a tile-mosaic bath framing waters that have travelled many kilometres by aqueduct to reach you. Mist rising from the surface carries the salty scent of Tunisian lemon blossom and Egyptian jasmine. I love this one because it smells to me like orange blossom bath salts I got in Casablanca. Comparison to Olympea: While this has the Olympea DNA, to my nose it has a bitter-orange/orange-blossom/orange-water vibe from the clementine and lemon blossom not found in Olympea. As it unfolds the enjoyable bitter aspect fades and it picks up additional tones of apricot and vanilla, although vanilla is less forward here than in the OG, which smells like saltwater taffy and keylime pie to me. Comparison to Olympea Aqua: Aqua comes close to the original Olympea, but jasmine is more forward here than either Olympea or Olympea Aqua EDP Legere, giving an overall more fresh floral experience than marine or citrus. This one is nice layered over Olympea Legend. Comparison to La Rive In Flames: This is a fairly close approximation to the original Olympea but with a much more modest performance. In addition there is a faint coconut note that isn't listed in Olympea although to my nose it's in both of these two. This one is perfect for a dumb reach in Spring/Summer, or if you want to get an idea of how this scent profile smells. Works best after spraying and storing a few months. Comparison to Police To Be Miss Beat: This is the closest to Olympea Aqua EDP Legere IMO, although it approximates the OG Olympea but leans slightly more "orange". Performance is better here than La Rive In flames, although La Rive In Flames is more like the OG. Contrast to Island Hawaii Michael Kors: These are different, but the openings have a similar vibe. OAEL is a much stronger performer, and dries down a lot sweet with the salty vanilla & hydroponic jasmine of the Olympea DNA. Overall: This one rivals the OG for top spot in this range IMO. Although this is a female targeted release, the overall 'bitter-orange/orange-water' vibe makes it unisex leaning feminine IMO, and is versatile enough to be worn by anyone for any occassion.

On my left wrist, I have the original, on my right, I have Aqua Eau De Parfum Légerè. This review is for the latter. I purchased this a month ago, after sampling the 2016 version of Olympea aqua, since that was the tester that was out. When I got it home and unwrapped it, I noticed that bottle was different to the tester and soon realised that it was in fact a new version of Aqua. Initially, I was disappointed because to my nose, it initially smelt very similar to JPG Classique Essence de parfum, which I already own, bummer! When I tested Essence de parfum side by side with Aqua EDPL, I noticed that they are in fact not overly similar and do have quite a few differences, the main one being that Aqua EDPL is more citrussy and less sweet, I think its the cashmere note which links them, as it adds a sort of tactile-ness to both scents. When first sprayed, I get a lot of citrus from the clementine and soft cashmere notes, after a few minutes it settles down and I get some salty (but not at all harsh) notes, very reminiscent to the smell of ocean spray, some vanilla peeks out and rounds it all off, there is also a slight herbal note, this may be a combination of the clementine and the lemon blossom, it reminds me slightly of a bathbomb from Lush called Golden Wonder. Longevity is good, it lasts a good 6 hours on my skin and silage is moderate, its not cloying or heavy, but people around you may notice a soft waft in the air as you pass them, I'm looking forward to trying it out in the summer. A solid 9/10 from me.

I don't own the OG Olympea, but I have tested it in-store, and I think Aqua Legere is by far superior -- it is definitely similar to the OG but more complex and refreshing due to the citrus notes. This was a blind buy for me (the majority of my fragrances are) and I was not disappointed at all. I own Olympea Legend too and love them both equally -- but Aqua Legere is more wearable. I will probably keep Legend for nights out, while Aqua Legere could definitely be worn all year round and for all occasions -- even to the gym, because it isn't overpowering and has a freshness to it. It is feminine, but I wouldn't call it a pretty/girly fragrance, I would really enjoy smelling this on a man. It's really addictive. I have no idea why this was discontinued -- it's a wonderful fragrance. I am considering buying a backup bottle while I still can. I don't know why amazing Olympea flankers like Legend and Aqua Legere are discontinued, Just a theory, but I suspect it's to create a sense of urgency to purchase new flankers when they come out.

The Aqua Légère is a softer, less sweet and more citrusy version of the original. It captures the feeling of a summer breeze in the sunset by the beach, in a bottle. It resembles the scent of salty skin after a day by the sea. It opens up with freshness, similar opening to the original. A bit too acidic citrus follows - the only downside to me- but thankfully, it's fleeting. As it dries down, you get a whiff of coconut for a few minutes and after that it's salty vanilla. I can't distinguish the floral notes, but it feels airy and fresh throughout. Add that to creamy, salty vanilla and you get an amazing combo. I would have liked to smell the ambergris and cashmere wood more. Unfortunately it doesn't project much, so I will have to overspray. Overall, it's a summery, feminine scent, perfect for day wear. If you think the original Olympea was a bit too much, chances are that the Aqua Légère will work for you.

This is finally the Olympea for me. I found the original a bit bland and Intense was nice and amped up a bit though not enough for me to love it. I randomly tested this in store and returned a few minutes later to just douse myself for the day lol. It's definitely the Olympea salty vanilla base, but first spray fills the air with light and fruity florals. I get more of a fruitiness to the opening than a pure citrus. The florals bounce around airily with the bright fruit/citrus, yet it's still very grounded by a warmer woodiness where you can really smell the salty vanilla base. The citrus fades a little later, leaving me with a warm and ambery, woody dry down. There's that salty marine vanilla note throughout the scent, really coming up once dried down. The entire scent is light enough for summer, I must have sprayed about 5-6 times. Just lovely for summer and I want a full bottle to enjoy it more!

I just bought this and I LOVE it! Very sweet but not cloying. I think I mainly smell the lemon blossom with some vanilla. I don't own any other Olympea versions but if they are all as good as this one I might have to start accumulating more! It seems to project well and lasts a long time too which is a bonus. Might become one of my new favorites ... *** Just purchased a back up bottle of this. It turns out this is in my top 5 ... maybe even top 3. I receive tons of compliments on this. Every time I spray this it makes me feel sooooo good. It truly is a beautiful fragrance, perfect for summer. It lasts forever on clothes. I just dug out a tshirt that I had sprayed 1 week ago and I could still smell it. I now want to explore all the other flankers as well as the original.

I find this so similar to the original (which I love) that I can’t see the point owning both so have put it on my swap list. I mainly get jasmine and salt from both, maybe the original is a tad spicier. Sillage is moderate and longevity is awesome on skin and fabric. I’m not sure if I got a dud but I really dislike the sprayer on this, it shoots out a stream of liquid rather than a mist and it ends up dripping everywhere. Other than that it’s a love from me and I’ll certainly repurchase either this or the original at some point. I did try the new intense version at the same time as this and while it was very similar I found it a bit sweeter than I like. I didn’t like the legend flanker at all, it didn’t even make it to my skin once I’d sniffed the test paper!

A super tangy, sweet, citrusy, salty, warm, white floral vanilla fragrance. With a name like Olympea EDP Legere, one would expect a lighter Olympea, but this is as strong as Olympea Intense on my skin. A ambery, marine, solar, bright and uplifting salty vanilla to wear during the summer season. But because it’s a more beastly fragrance, can be worn during colder months without any issues. Obviously, discontinued, cause why not??? Create an outstanding salty, floral scent and stop producing it a few years later!! Make sense, doesn’t it!?!?! If you have, take it out of your shelf and enjoy it! Now it’s the ideal time to bask into the sun and smell like a sea goddess on a budget!

I like most of the Paco Rabanne fragrances I've been able to sample or buy. They do sweet and gourmand scents so well. I was lucky enough to find the 50ml of Aqua Legere at Shoppers for $20. I proceeded to buy three because this is just heavenly to my nose. So well blended. The salt, which isn't as odd a fragrance note as one might assume when you think of the popularity of confections like salted caramel, that salt along with the vanilla, wow! Add a little floral, a touch of citris and it's just beautiful. And THEN, I bought more.

This is how i pictured the original Olympea's scent. I have sold my original Olympea because I am not a fan of the fragrance- i dont hate it nor do I like it BUT this flanker is very nice. To me it does resemble JPG Classique Essence but it gives the twist of the solar salty note. A feminine aquatic scent that I believe will not be offensive to anyone in any situation. I do adore this scent. In my opinion this scent may be worn all year long.

One of the best designer scents I own although it wasn't a love at first sniff. For a summer aquatic, it's pretty sophisticated. It makes me think of brunch on South Beach in Miami. It has a slight masculine vibe that gives it a "corporate"feeling. I've been really enjoying wearing it to work. I'm in hot, sunny Florida so the OG Olympea was a bit dense for my taste. This is the perfect balance of sexiness, freshness and complexity.

Warm salty-solar vanilla. Most days it's a bit to sweet for my liking - but when I crave sweet and comforting it's perfect. I love the salty vanilla that gives it a feel of warm skin. I get nothing sour or masculine. I wear it year round - except for very warm weather where it is a bit too cloying. It's really long lasting on my skin and has a nice sillage. Without a doubt one of my most complimentet fragrances.

Uplifting , summer flirty scent . I get the beautiful mandarin and lemon blossom , and it feels very bright and refreshing due to the water lily which makes this a a great going out scent or if you want something bright and flirty to wear. This is perfect for me, the original was too deep and sweet for me to wear here in Florida . I can still smell the dry down 12+ hours later on clothes

My favourite from the line. Absolutely gorgeous salty vanilla with beautiful florals and a biting/succulent citrusy opening. I am trying to explore some Niche and Indie Houses for a change but I can't seem to put this beauty down, especially on these warm Summer days. Sadly I heard Acqua Legere is discontinued by now. Why do they do that to us? @deepgreenbeauty

Absolutely love this one, so beautiful and sexy. Better than the original Olympea (I have both), I love clementine in this one and don’t like ginger in Olympea. Bought it with 50% off before I knew it was being discontinued. When I returned to the shop few days later to get more, it was sold out. I need to buy some back up bottles if I can still find any.

What a warm, uplifting scent. I wore this majority of summer and honestly I received compliments. It’s warm snd light but strong and approaching. definitely a day time perfume, Slightly expensive. Usually, my body doesn’t compliment well with floral scents, but this perfume works for me. Sometimes, the clementine is quite strong . 8 out of 10.

Really like this in the summer, on the hottest days. Too cold right now, I get more spicy orange in the cold and don't care for it. But in the heat, ooooh..I get a juicy orange, like Satsuma orange and bit of spiced vanilla. I use c booth vanilla butter (vanilla marshmallowy) and I get orange creamsicle. Can't wait to wear this again!

Cotton candy + red hard candy + persian clover + menthol / grape / cucumber / vinyl(Alien!!!) (probably cashmere wood?). Like laying on a blanket on a meadow full of persian clover (one of my favorite flowers). You can almost hear humming of bumblebees. This is the only gourmand scent I felt in love with.

this will be my summer fragrance this year. I have olympea EdP but I find it usually too strong for my liking. Olympea Aqua is different, it smells similar in the beginning but then it gets very warm, woody and skin-like. The smell reminds me of a sun-product-line I once had.

This one really took me by surprise! I tested it along with the Olympea original and on me it was richer and lasted longer that the original. It carries the same dna as the original and it is sensual and fresh at the same time, perfect for summer nights!

If Olympea is salty jasmine vanilla, then Olympea Aqua Legere is salty vanilla orange creamsicle. OG Oympea requires a light touch thanks to its impressive sillage and longevity, and needs a little time to open up to its full potential. Olympea Aqua Legere is milder, more user-friendly, lighter and fresher, especially with those sunny citrus notes. It's surprisingly less sweet and less intensely vanilla than the original, and true to its name, is a more summer-appropriate, fresh, borderline aquatic fragrance. It still has that lovely marine, salt air and ambergris quality, and the salty vanilla DNA is still there, but as a gentle support player rather than the starring role. The white florals give a slightly creamy touch. Aqua Legere, just like the other Olympeas, is extremely feminine and alluring, though this one has a softer touch, not too sweet and great for heat, day and night. Due to its aquatic notes, it has slightly less sillage and longevity than the OG, which is borderline eternal on my skin and ESPECIALLY clothes. However, this isn't a deal breaker–this is a Paco Rabanne fragrance, and having less sillage than the OG still means this is a strong and effective, long-lasting perfume, lasting six or seven hours instead of 12. It's a shame it was discontinued, because it is SO nice and for a citrus-white floral-vanilla-aquatic, performs so well.

I had a chance to try it a few days ago and had quite high expectations about it because lemon blossom is one of my favourite notes and it is not that easy to find it in the perfumes. Luckily, I wasn't dissaponted. It opens with amazing floral scent of the lemon blossom and a hint of zesty cistrus. That phase lasts for about 10 minutes and then the scent gets really hot and the solar notes reminds of a very sunny and humid summer day. The water lily and water jasmine are quite subtle yet noticeable so they don't dominate and I love that especially jasmine doesn't take over. The most interesting thing is that this scent actually gets SALTY in the dry down. Unfortunately, the lemon flower disappears quite quickly and you'll be left with interesting and bold, sweet, floral and salty bouquet. Somehow it reminds me of a sun kissed skin...worth a try

@amandakk - check fragrancebuy The original plan developed an overexaggerated white jasmine floral on my skin. No prominent salt or vanilla notes. Acqua EdP Legere owes much to its original fire eater, but is more toned down. This version opens similarly to XS with a grape syrup like neroli note. Perhaps from the lemon blossom and citrus. It is soon rounded out by water jasmine, a non-gourmand hint of vanilla, and even less substantial ambergris. If animalics slide into the barnyard side of things, this one is safe. This was my first spray, so will update if the salty vanilla or cashmeran appear in the dry down or outdoors in the heat.

Oh this is sooo nice !! I will say the color of the bottle is very much in tune with the freshness, the lightness and happiness of this scent !! I love clementine, and water lily, both giving this perfume the undertone of a warm light rain..Although it is fresh and zesty, the florals aren't far, with a breezy salty note, all in all very balanced, the best of the Olympea I think ..Acqua was just a diluted version of edp..this one is its own little personality, and will be a great smelling perfume to enjoy in spring or summer...in my opinion , the best of the Olympea. Loving it !!

I don't know if there is something wrong with my bottle but I don't understand the votes for "moderate/ long" longevity and "moderate/ strong " projection. For me, it's weak longevity and poor projection. I can barely smell this one on me after 5 minutes, and when I say 5 minutes, I'm not exaggerating. It's like pure water. I know it's "eau de parfum légère" but there is légère and légère... I love the regular aqua so much, but since I can't find it anywhere I thought I would be happy with this one but no 😔

I told my colleague every day how amazing she always smells and one day she gave me her perfume and said she was a bit tired of it (or maybe it was my compliments she was tired of), it was about half the bottle left. It smells very good but it really smelled amazing on her and the sillage and longevity are both crazy. The smell is hard to explain but yes it really does smell like salt! So funny :)

A cheerful and warm blend of citrus, vanilla and flowers that remind me a bit of Tahitian monoi, with a touch of fresh salt and amber. This could be the scent of a wahine ! Not my favorite (yet), but I like this very much ! It's summery and beautiful, even now in the middle of Winter. Good sillage and longevity.

Much more pleasant than the original. What once was a heavily salted dry down is now rinsed and refreshed by the floral additions, and this makes it so much more tolerable and likeable in the long run. Tempted to get myself a bottle for the summer.

Citrusy opening. Feels super light and airy. The salt + vanilla + ambergris combo is quite similar to the original. But this one is subdued and the jasmine is amped up. This smells like sunshine and summer. Nice take on the og

Nothing in common with Alien essence absolue!! Those two perfumes have nothing in common, one is rich , warm, woodsy, amberish, the other all lightness , freshness, salty fruity marine air!!

Very nice, the best of the Olympea line so far. Usually I don't like salt in perfumes, but here it does not bother me. It's fresh, marine, intriguing. Very good.

This Olympea was a blind buy. For me this smells 95% like LVEB L’Éclat (I’ve had it). Wouldn’t have bought it if I knew they were so similar.

Beautiful! This perfume is sunny and light compared to the other versions. It's also a less salty. I think it's more fitting for casual wear.

back in 2018 when this had just been launched I received a 6ml bottle as a free gift when I repurchased olympéa intense (my favorite olympéa flanker!) for the nth time. I was very excited to encounter a new friend in the olympéa range that I hadn’t tried before, but when I finally put my nose to it, the chimes of love unfortunately did not ring for us. it’s not a bad scent at all, but to me it just smells like not-as-good version of olympéa intense. it’s funny, because I would assume that aqua légère would be a closer match to olympéa aqua than olympéa intense, but hey, that’s what my nose says. maybe I’m just biased, or maybe it’s the salt + amber combo? in hindsight I am not surprised that aqua légère didn’t do it for me as I’m not a big fan of citrus scents, and the citrus is very prominent in this one. the sharpness of it is a little too much for me, but if you’re into warm and slightly spicy citrus scents then I would recommend trying this!

I saw this for a great price, and although I tried a version of Olympéa ages ago (and REALLY disliked it), the notes on this seemed really appealing, so I blind bought it. (The reviews made me confident to try!) I am LOVING this!!! To my nose, it's very similar (until drydown) to Jean Paul Gaultier "Classique Essence" (which I adore!), so this was indeed an great blind buy for me! ***UPDATE*** Fast forward to just over a full year later, and I tried this during a hot and humid (30°C) day. It's MUCH too cloying for my taste, and not as amazing as I had remembered it. I am actually loving the drydown far more than the opening or middle, and it makes me glad that I swapped my bottle to a friend who utterly adored this scent. I will stick with my JPG over this.

I accidentally bought this (I thought I was getting the original Olympea at first) and was disappointed initially; I'm a gourmand lover through and through and this is quite the opposite. But in the first few wears itself, I have fallen in love. It's intoxicating, yet perfect for summer, which is perfect for me as I live in a tropical climate. I feel so sexy wearing this without feeling like it's cloying to anyone who would smell me. Sillage and longevity are great as well. I might just have to find a backup bottle!

It's clean and fresh, but there is some sharpness and masculinity I don't like. I love the bottle though! This will be a display if the drydown is not better. Edit: the sweetness and vanilla become nonexistent on my skin, sadly. Keeping this for the bottle and selling decants.

It reminds me of Armani Code (women). It has that zingy citrusy vibe with heavy vanillas and amber. Not a dupe but it's within the same realm. Very sexy summer nights. Personally wouldn't wear in the hot weather it gives me a headache.

It is named aqua but unfortunately it smells too floral on my skin. Love the beautiful-soft-fresh-sweet-citrus opening. Very long lasting & quite a big projection in the first 5hours

I found this to be a very herbal and warm aromatic scent. It's also a touch aquatic, of course. Not really me at all. As it develops the jasmine emerges which is much nicer but there's nothing groundbreaking here. The strongest and longest lasting of the Olympeas I tested, this garnered several compliments, but I was not thrilled by it. Boyfriend labelled it generic.

I am quite sad because I wanted olympea aqua (white box) and received that one. I find it good but louder, more sugary and fruity. The seller doesn’t want to change, for him Aqua is Aqua... For me syrup is syrup, even a very good quality one. Get no salt at all. Heavy solar, fruits, sugar. I know I am simply disappointed, this perfume is not my usual taste.

Blind bought this based on reviews. It’s a nice fragrance but not my cup of tea. It has a much warmer, tropical beach vibe than I was expecting. If I had done a blind nose test, I would’ve assumed this was one of the Estée Lauder bronze goddess flankers. Even though the notes don’t list coconut, it’s certainly there. It is a lighter coconut though, and not a rich/dense coconut. It adds some warmth and creaminess, which I’m guessing is what gives this fragrance a “solar” quality. I also saw this one compared to Alien Eau Sublime, and to my nose alien is a lighter, more velvety skin scent with more citrus, and no coconut vibes. On a hot, humid summer day, I actually find the alien more wearable and less cloying than olympea acqua legere. Update: I gave this one another try, and am beginning to really enjoy it. The second time around, the coconut seemed less prominent. It smells a bit more like a tropical flower, than coconut. I am beginning to understand the comparisons to alien eau sublime more. This fragrance takes a while to bloom and develop, taking you on such a pleasant journey. The final dry down is a light yet buttery jasmine, much like the original alien, but appropriate for the summer.

Olympea Acqua Legere from first spray smells straight up like Olympea original. It's only after some minutes that you start smelling subtle differences that make the Legere flanker more worthy than the original. Basically the heavy vanilla salty base is still here, unmistakably Olympea, but the blend is tweaked, for the better in my opinion. The white florals, jasmine and lemonblossom, are more pronounced which results in a more complex and balanced blend. Woodsy notes are also detected, very complementary. The original seems incohesive comparing to this smooth blend. The drydown is a warm deep amber-vanilla-salt scent leaning heavily on the white floral side. It lasts for more than seven hours on the skin and creates a cloud of scent around you. Easily worn all year around, confident and sexy. This and Intense were necessary flankers in my opinion.

I love love love the original Olympea, so I purchased this in the hopes that it would give me new facets of one of my favorite perfumes. Unfortunately, this isn't quite doing it for me. I loved it out of the bottle and the first spray gave me top notes that smelled like a cool spring breeze should feel- floral but crisp, not sickeningly sweet. That dissipated almost immediately, and then the fragrance turned masculine and sour, like bad cologne, but I had to get my nose right up to my wrist to smell it. Now, about 45 minutes after the initial spray, it's faded down to a watered-down version of the original Olympea with pumped up lemon blossom blending with the vanilla. The salt is prominent. The sillage is minimal. It's very pretty and it's a very comfortable, dreamy aquatic, but it's not something I'll keep.

I found this a few weeks ago for $19.99 and I thought for sure it was a mistake and put onto the clearance shelf by mistake but sure enough it was in fact on for 20 Bucks!! I absolutely live this, it has this really lovely but light aquatic vibe to it and a really beautiful sweet vibe at the same time. It lasts really long and I find for myself it doesn’t change at all on my skin from the initial spritz-it stays the same from start to finish which I personally prefer that type of fragrance rather than one that goes through many different scents during the dry down time. It’s not overly strong so I find that it would be perfect for any time of day, any time of year and any way you like it :) I now have the original and this and plan to get the rest of them in the near future!!

After testing this and the original Olympea I decided to go with this one. I love both a lot, they're similar but different enough to have both in your collection in my opinion. Aqua has more summery goodness in the form of clementine (this shines on my skin) and lemon blossom and is a touch aquatic thanks to the water lily. It still has the vanilla/salt blend of the original which I really love. This perfume actually reminds me of my holiday in Tenerife. It just smells like the ocean and the freshness of the summer florals and fruits that make your mouth water on a hot day. I love it.
