Silver Skin

I personally like this more than the esteemed Iris Shot, which was a bit on the mature side for me... it was a serious perfume. This is relatively more easy going —cool yet warm with a gourmand touch from the vanilla and benzoin. Fabrice Pellegrin is no slouch when it comes to his creations, even if they aren’t all for me. That slight metal/cold aspect to the profile could be read as “designery”—as there is sometimes that remnant in mainstream scents. I do however like the contrast of warm/cold...otherwise, it would be too cozy/edible. The scent reminds me of Tom Ford Metallique, although Silver Skin smells of better ingredients and is not as sweet as TF. The Iris here, being a bit on the dry side, keeps it from being too saccharine. The bottle is high quality—it is as substantial and lux as it looks.

This smells exactly like recently blown out candles atop a vanilla cake with chilled buttery frosting. The contrast of the smoldering candle wick mixed in with the sweet smell of birthday cake creates such a "feel good" nostalgic vibe. I can't think of anyone that would find this offensive. The final dry down is a smooth, steely-cool vanilla. Performance is great too. 10/10.

Did not at all expect to love this as much as I do. It's this gorgeously soft, airy fragrance with a dusty almost forest-like undertone. This is definitely for a clean girl except the girl is a (sometimes offensively blunt) woodland fairy. The pink pepper top and vanilla base make this very wearable, but the iris, orris, and resin make it fun and unique.

Smells like Metallique with an Iris note. Gorgeous if you enjoy that type of scent...like melted vanilla ice cream next to clean laundry with a dose of iris.

Silver skin is a dissent scent. It's is like Silver on the skin. Bit of iris ,very subtle, gentle inoffensive fragrance. Sweet and vanilla ice ream like. 6/10.

I have this and I enjoy it, but I don’t love it like I thought I would. When I first wore it, I really keyed in on the resinous aspects of the fragrance which helped to separate it from other Iris fragrances it’s going to draw comparisons to; you know the ones I am going to say... Valentino Uomo and Dior Home Intense. This is much More earthy, almost dirty. Not as sweet. Pepper in your face the first couple minutes. That was then. Now, several months later, I barely get that earth/soil aspect and I find that I miss it. The pepper is still there, but not enough of it. I would say the fragrance this is closest to in the Iris spectrum is CH Men Pasion, just somewhat higher quality. There’s really no need to own both, and since this just feels more luxe, it’s the one I am choosing to keep. Longevity and projection are fine, as is most of this line. I get about 6 hours, before it’s a skin scent. Great for early spring, fall and winter.

It's interesting that people are describing this as a sweet/gourmand vanilla. To me, the resins in this scent come across as intensely dusty - like old rosin or an abandoned church. I won't argue that there is some sweetness but it is like someone sprinkled a fine layer of powdered sugar over the other notes. In the opening I do smell a lot of the pepperiness and the "skin like" iris but those facets fade into the background once the amber takes over.

This absolutely stunning. Sweet but subtle and classy. The bottles are very heavy. Top quality, they all actually smell really good. Bit this in on my skin, 3 hours still projecting. I want it.....

Gorgeous take on Iris perfumery with a depth and darkness in an airy potion! Hard to describe, it's gorgeous and my fav one of the series. About to be discontinued, so don't walk..run ! :))

Starts off as a really strong and powdery iris, dries down very smooth and sweet. The dry down is so good I would actually consider buying this.

I reallly don't want to Blind buy. Can someone go sniff in UK and report back, pretty please :)
