The fragrance is, I think, perfectly unisex but the rich, smooth base of leather and sandalwood beautifully grasps the luxurious yet fresh rose and violet duo and grounds it. The opening immediately grasps your full attention with the fresh grapefruit and soft spiciness of saffron marrying with the sweetness of the honey and the elegance of rose underneath. However, my favorite part of the perfume as a whole has to be the subtle soothing dryness that the Tea note brings throughout the entire life of it to add another layer of texture, contrasting with the fresh floral woodyness. To me, Cutting Rain boils down to a Tea, saffron, rose, and sandalwood fragrance. The picture it paints is a beautiful one: I think back to the countless memories I have of festivities and large family gatherings in India, with various sweets handed to every person, chatting over cups of chai steeped with rich black tea leaves infused with spices and made creamy smooth with milk, lighthearted laughter and endearment for each other in the air. I think the high-quality Mysore sandalwood really makes the perfume refined yet very cozy! Longevity is good about 7-8 hours for me, but I do wish the projection was louder past the two/three hour mark. A lovely fragrance I reach for when attending various events or gatherings, any time of day or season.

Cutting Rain opens with a fresh mix of grapefruit and strawberry, rounded out with honey and black tea. There’s a little saffron in there too that adds some warmth. Then you get a soft floral mix of rose, violet, and marigold before it settles into a base of sandalwood, leather, and cashmeran. It dries down cozy and smooth. If you like Black Saffron, you might notice a similar vibe in the base—but this one definitely stands on its own. And if Black Saffron ever felt too smoky for you, Cutting Rain is a great one to try instead.

I just recently finished my sample and have plans to buy a full bottle. My absolute favourite from this house so far. I’m a huge floral lover and florals in the mid here are just divine. The entire composition makes me feel like I’m right back there in India awaiting the rain to soothe the heat of the day. There is a romance to it that I find quite irresistible.

Beautiful scent, indeed somewhat similar to Byredo (superficially) but has beautiful tea note and you can feel the humidity in it. If you enjoy saffron heavy compositions, give it a proper wearing.

Like a more fruity version of Byredo's Black Saffron. Actually wearable spring/summer, where as Black Saffron is more winter/fall to me. Absolutely wonderful fragrance.

Lovely woody rose with hints of rain and chai. Leans sweet and smoky at the same time. Anything rose-heavy is not for me personally but I can see this being a comfort wear for a lot of women!

Cutting Rain is an easy, unpretentious wear, you really can’t go wrong with it. It’s like sitting on a misty hill station, hands wrapped around a cup of comforting hot chai. The fragrance leans floral, with gentle marigold and rose layered over an abundance of tea notes. If you are trying out this house for the first time, this is a safe place to start. Personally, I wear this most of the time as it's a very pleasant wear. Most women will love it

Floralfruity barely woody more rose undertones that i wanted tbh. This is a feminine scent to my nose but im not really picking up on any leather. It’s a light freshie that isn’t gonna offend anyone but also it’s pretty unique i can see some lady or femboy liking this
