Big Pony 3

I agree with @clintjr82. This perfume is for you: A western european male with light/brown skin in his mid 20's today. This is for women a very sexually arousing perfume. Please note that many men are not amused of this perfume, but almost every woman that I have met LOVES this perfume. So do you want to be a mystery man with a green and extremely fresh perfume that is not from citrus? Then buy it. This is the perfect perfume to wear to a party, because no one has a perfume smelling like this anymore. Would I buy again? YES (I have had 2 glas bottles and 5 sprays). My score: 5/6 only because it is a unique original smell that you cannot get your hands on + all women LOVE it (trust me on this boys!). Downside: Not long lasting at all.

Yes its Linear and simple, but that is what makes this one so good. Number 3 has Very good silage, it smells natural after A very short time on the skin. The dry down is like your natural body oder, that what makes this so special! To me this is A great Day scent or could be A signature for others. It's like this is the modern up to date Polo. Very green, Fresh and Masculine, the more I wear this the more I love it. Just because this is not A complex scent, don't sell it short. Many of the best Fragrance's are linear, and to some that is what makes them so special. 8/10 Good Stuff, Best of the Pony line. 10/10 Sillage 8/10 Longevity

Todos los que critican está fragancia tal vez no consideran que es muy buena para ciertas ocasiones, da cumplidos y si que los da, porque no es algo que sea muy común de ver en el mercado a comparación de la BP1 que aún está en el mercado que si es una más de muchas parecidas. Para mi novia era la fragancia que más le gustaba, me decía que al contacto con su respiración producía un aroma delicioso. No todas las fragancias tienen que ser técnicamente buenas, durar y proyectar por horas para ser apreciada. Siento que esté descontinuada.

I am onto my second 75ml bottle of this and it's got a quarter left. It is so fresh and light. I love it. I can only describe it as very fresh citrusy with a little spicy ginger. It doesn't have much depth as far as the notes go but it is perfect for everyday use and sporting. It is a very universal scent, by that I mean almost everyone likes it. If you like fresh citrus smells, this is for you!

About a decade ago, my late mother asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I asked for Polo Green, and bless her heart, my mother gave me this. I loved it! So simple and refreshing. This must be the only fragrance I have ever owned with only two fragrance notes. The ginger and mint was the perfect combination for the humid Australian summer. What a shame I can’t find this anymore.

I really wish that the cologne stuck with that linear top note of mint. The ginger can be offensive, depending on the weather. If this fragrance dialed back the ginger and boosted the mint, I would wear it more often. Reminds me of October 2014, when I stayed in Canada. Brings back memories of Toronto.

I personally really like this scent. It actually has surprised me how much I like this. When ever you have low expectations, there always met!! To me, I get a fresh green, minty, powdery scent. Considering getting a big bottle. Mike

Nice scent for gym and outdoor! To me has also lime and more than ginger & mint! Cool scent for casual uses! Perfect for summer days.

A true love/hate relationship with the third player of the Big Pony Collection. Very simple and linear scent with only two notes: ginger, and mint - yes, that's all what you get. The beginning is very fresh and green; well balanced combination of the two notes, but more minty for me, also sweet, very pleasant. After 10-20 minutes, the sweetness goes away, and the scent becomes sour and maybe a little powdery. Now you can easily detect the ginger but still the mint is the dominant. And that's it so far. The initial smell won't change from this point. I like these two notes, but maybe it's not the best idea to incorporate them; they're better alone, or with other notes. As i mentioned, this combination gives a fragrance a sour and powdery feeling which isn't pleasant at all. I wish the whole drydown could be like the beginning - well balanced and a little sweet. Not bad, but could be better. The longevity is brutal on me. I mean, literally. One day i sprayed two early in the morning, and it lasted all day, easily recognized it on the evening. I'm sure no one has ever said anything like that before: i want worse longevity! Seriously. It's not easy to smell this all day, kind of tiring. The sillage is average by the way. For everyday use only on spring and summer. Not for a formal dinner or a date, believe me. The price is in the average category. Also, nothing special about the package. The bottle is green and clear, very nice stuff. Like the other 3 bottles from The Collection (with capital letter, of course) it has the number 3 on one side, and the familiar Big (not that big) Pony logo on the other side which i think is one of best logos on the market, if i can say something like that. Overall, it's not a bad scent, but try it carefully before buy, and make sure you know it, becouse it can surprise you. Yeah, that's it for today.

Having tried all these today I must say #3 is quite good. Having the same number as the Captain of a polo team, this one is very verdant and natural fresh and though I would have chosen a different scent for the captain this one I am sure will be very popular with the nature lover... The listed notes of mint and ginger are definitely there and right off the sprayer it is VERY green, though not like original Polo was(Herbal and sharp), this one has an outdoorsy lush type of green that gets sweeter before the main duo of notes kick in. In the drydown (what I'm smelling now 6-7 hours later) is a hint of wood with vetivery type of manly green thats clean but sheer and ever so slightly warm-sweet...ala Eau de Vetiver Sillage: decent Longevity: quite good Overall :3.75/5 (my #3 of the 4) Every RL fragrance cannot be Polo or Safari, times change and so do designer scents. If you want to go green, this is the Pony for you. Remember rolling down a hill as a child in warm fresh summer grass? That's how this one makes me feel...

One of my first fragrances to sit on my shelf since 2014 along with Paco Rabanne's Invictus. As a teenager I have never picked Big Pony 3 above Invictus if I was going outdoors, but I've always caught myself sniffing Ralph Lauren's juice here and there and even use it as a fresh out the shower fragrance to remind me of that nostalgic smell of my young years. To me it's an old school-ish simple green fragrance, nothing to hate about it. The longevity is between weak and moderate giving me 2 to 4 hours at best and I would describe the sillage as a skin scent. I think the sentiment makes me keep this bottle on my shelf, but if someone would ask me if I would re-buy this, my simple answer would be no because I never use it and it's not a memorable scent in the sense of performance.

This definitly a sleeper fragrance ! Its 1 of those fragrances that most fragrance snobs will pass up on because its not extremely unique or diverse but sometimes simplicity is honestly better. This is 1 of those frags that wont make you stand out in anyway but you will deffinitly get complimented on smelling nice which makes it perfect for daily,casual use. The smell itself is its a pleasant,green,minty, soapy scent blended with some ginger to keep it from being to boring.It kind of reminds me of a sweeter version of irish spring soap/ Performance on this pretty good on my skin actually. I get anywhere from 6-10 hrs longevity and it projects just above average the whole time Overalli id rate this a 7.25 out of 10 !

Like everybody posted on here it is a plain scent but it smells great especially early in the morning nice clean shower fresh smell gives you a little energy and most people will like it cause it's a non offensive scent any age group could wear this one it's just a clean smelling scent I think of zest soap the commercial from the 90's "your not fully clean unless your zest fully clean" it goes something like that but anyways i'll give it a 7/10 plain basic but non the less it smells great I've gotten a few "oh that smells good" from co workers it's one of those scents like mugler cologne

Ginger bomb! I got this the other day and was very impressed with the smell but had me worried on the longevity. I wore it yesterday afternoon and I have to say that the projection and longevity arent an issue. It's very minty and fresh on opening but only for about 30 minutes then the ginger just pops. It's all ginger and spices for about 6-8 hours until the projection is gone. It stays on the skin for maybe 3 hours and will stay on clothes for 8. Great casual summer scent.

I have an old bottle of this. It's a pretty straightforward ginger and mint with an underlying musk. It smells pretty decent, especially being over 10 years old. I think it's a very versatile spring and summer fragrance. Lacking in performance perhaps but again that might be due to the age of my bottle.

mint and ginger, really thats all you get not worth the money in my opinion an ok summer fragence lasts 2 hours on my skin scent: 6/10 sillage:2/10 sits close to the skin longevity: 2/10 2-4 hours max versitility: 7/10 17/40 meh...

Definitely like it, only thing I do mind is its longevity - maybe the others do smell it, but me not. I can feel a fresh scent for 10 minutes, maybe a lil more, but then, it all dissappears. I can recommend, although.

Well I have to say that I agree with my friend Mike that its the best smell in the hole collection but it comes with the poor longevity & Sillage !!!! P.S. Forgettable.

Smells pleasing to me, not my favorite, but good. It last a long time too, the best of the big pony series if you ask me. Casual and safe, no real complaints.

Ginger and mint. I'm sure theres a suede note for the base there, something has to be holding this together. Well it's nice than my first try. Very fresh.

Unfortunately a very boring light citrus ginger thing. I have never been a big fan of any of Ralph's citrus entries tho...

Sometimes you gotta keep it simple. Keep a bottle around for super hot days and after-sex showers.

Big Pony 3 by Ralph Lauren is an aromatic fragrance with very ordinary scent and a below average performance. On opening it smells slightly sweet to my nose and I get more of a citrus and rubbing alcohol accord from it. I think this accord actually comes from what may be a synthetic mint. As the fragrance dries down there is a spiciness there but it doesn't smell of a very distinct ginger to me. Overall it's a pretty linear, slightly sweet green, spicy scent. Not bad but nothing special this could easily be some generic cheapie fragrance that one may pick up in a discount pharmacy. It lasts about 2 or 3 hours mostly as a skin scent. I give it 2.5/5.

It smells nice on the initial spray, but tends to disappear quickly. This is one of the first colognes I purchased as a kid, and while the scent is nice, it just doesn't perform well at all. I've barely put a dent in my bottle that I've had for ages. Probably the cologne I use the least in my collection. The silage isn't that strong (probably a foot or two), and the longevity is poor (about an hour on my skin). But the smell isn't offensive. Nice, green smell that is suitable for the spring or summer.

Smells nothing like Mont Blanc legend to me. Mont Blanc is a lot more crisp, clean, and sharp smelling. One of the few full bottle purchases I regret. Maybe it just reminds me of my ex-girlfriend whom I wore this all the time with. Would usually rather wear literally anything else in my collection than this. 3/10 scent, 6/10 longevity, 6/10 sillage.

This is a disappointment from Ralph Lauren's house. They actually do really good stuff. This isn't one of them. Its a relatively linear scent. It has a weird mint note. Doesn't last long. I would suggest this is kind of a flanker when you want to combined it with something else, like the Next brand of aftershaves which was just one note. So its not entirely bad. Its just no way can this be thought to be good. If you want good, go for Safari or the original Polo Green or Explorer. This is like that degenerate son you end up having who trashes your family name by marrying that golddigging hussy and taking over the family business before bankrupting it. This is what Number 3 should be better known as. Obviously that classic Ralph Lauren customer usually has more money than common sense. So for them, the price point is fab, but i just look at this and think, you could have done so much with this RL, but instead you're cashing in on your name. More thought went into marketing this than actually producing the scent. The perfumer for this should hang their heads in shame. If you see a user who thinks this is good, downvote their review.

This one is the worse smelling one of the 4 perfumes. It's not that bad however! It smells exactly what it says here: Ginger and mint. Yeah... Not that groundbreaking, but these were made to be easy to wear and accessible for a large range of customers and probably focused towards teens primarily. All I am saying that all of the other colognes in the big pony collection are better than this one.

Smelled this in malls, and got a small 1oz spray bottle of this after buying the #4...For me, this smells like detergent, as in laundry detergent...not too harsh tho...

Big Pony 3 is as simple as fragrances come; two notes and a very linear life that for some particular reason seems to be the longest lasting and most durable of the four in the Big Pony cannon. From the opening spray the mint asserts itself over the rather organic ginger note but after 5-10 minutes both begin a bit of a struggle for supremacy, with the ginger becoming more prominent and ultimately coalescing into a rather finely blended mix that is well balanced and spicy and projects exceedingly well compared to the first two in the series. Definitely recommendable to anyone who enjoys ginger but wants something simple and fresh without frills. Shocking longevity, 6-8 hours is quite common and 10 hours is not out of the question on some. Certainly given the simplicity this will be criticized for its sheer banality and imperative cloying qualities, and while this is certainly true, this is a very decent simple spicy that works well in the context of providing four different mood fragrances for the casual wearer not yet ready to stop and smell the roses.

Big Pony 3 is certainly mint and ginger. But that really is all there is to it. Pretty low sillage with low strength. I really struggle to catch this scent shortly after spraying. The drydown is ginger candy before quickly fading out. If it was stronger, with a more impressionable ginger note, this might be interesting. However, as this formulation stands, it isn't complex nor strong enough to garner much interest in anything outside of casual wear. This could be unisex or masculine depending on how strongly the ginger takes to your skin. I would not get it for myself though. Scent: 6/10 Sillage: 4/10 Longevity: 4/10

I have to agree with other people here. Yes, #3 is good, it really something. The combination of mint and ginger really works. The best among the 4 big pony. Just after you sprayed it, the burst of minty fresh and ginger smell lead the perfume. However, drydown is not so good for me. The mint loose it freshness, but the ginger remain.Not bad, but I wish I could smell the mint on my man for longer. But #3 fails to maintain the minty fresh smell. The minty turns to aquatic-green smell which not so impressive. Sillage is good, quite long lasting. Suit men below 30...

Got this as a gift from my gf and as I was smelling it for the first time I was actually really surprised how damn good it smelled! It has a very interesting green super fresh kind of smell to it very different from anything I have in my collection definitely a compliment getter. Seems to last 6-8 hours on me with better then average projection for the first 2 hours.I own a couple polo fragrances and I think this is my favorite and its also slightly stronger then the other polo fragrances. 8/10 respectively

To all the teenagers and early 20s people. If you want compliments whether you like the scent or not, buy this if its still out there. Something about the mint and mint in general that just grabs females. I remember wearing this back in 2010, I receive nothing but compliments. It doesn't last though, be prepared to spray every 1 hour. Its very crisp and zingy fresh. If your more of an orange and spice scent person, buy the orange, its powerful and receive compliments also.

I probably shouldn't be doing this, but I'm giving Big Pony 3 a neutral rating because it's the most likable of the BP lineup. Some mint and an incredibly synthetic greeny heart, over a faceless and clean ginger and musk. I'm a sucker for green, even when it's as soulless as this. I suppose if I were 17 and sexually frustrated, this would be my spring spritz. Anyone even a smidgen further along in life should just man up and wear the original Polo.

This is the most unique of the 4 big pony scents for men and it is my least favourite, unfortunately. I like to think I can appreciate earthy, spicy aromatics but as a woman, I feel like they need a touch of soft sweetness in the base notes for me to be attracted to a scent. I prefer Polo Blue as a fresh summer scent on men and am still looking for the perfect sweet woodsy fragrance for my partner.

Of all the new RL line this one was my top choice (none of them were really impressive). Don't look for complexity here. What you get is: light, fresh (nice mint) and simple. Certainly will not offend the working environment but would not recommend this as a date scent. The sillage is just so so and I did not find the longevity I desire. Overall, fairly generic in a nice way.

Simple, but tasty. The perfume is green indeed and it resembles a field full of fresh green grass. The mint is here, maybe a bit of ginger too, and of course lots of citruses. The scent starts bright and invigorating, but than becomes powdery and less minty. Yes, the ingridients are cheap, but the smell is not bad.

A very grassy, minty scent. It smells like a fresh spring day where it had been raining a day or two before. Now the sun is out and there's a nice breeze; everything is green. I like this cologne even though it's simple. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this, more so than some of my big boy colognes.

big fony 3 opens with Ginger Mint and stays there . i have the large bottles of big fonys 3 & 4 i would forget i even have it if it vanished into the trash its very forgettable scents and a flop from ralph laurens house

Siento que es muy similar a big pony 1, más fresco pero en general lo percibo como big pony 1. Que lástima que no mantenga la calidad de Polo tradicional, un perfume que usé por años y con una excelente calidad.

yuM. sMELLS GREAT. But honesly, The entire big pony line smells a whole lot better on paper than it does on people. It loses its shine on skin and just runs flat like manly deodorant that wore off.

Polo please revive this fragrance! This fragrance opens up with mint & ginger musk & dries down to a crisp green refreshing musk. Unfortunately it’s dead. Ditch the 1 & 2 and revive this
