Polo Cologne Intense Eau de Parfum

All I can say is BUMBER! Such a nice clean, fresh and green fragrance, but the performance is just awful! The actual smell is a GREAT, modern interpretation of the og Polo. Now, I do NOT agree that if a good fragrance last only 3 to 4 hours, that makes it a "bad" fragrance, not at all. But, when you put the word "Intense" and then say its an EDP concentration, there is a certain expectation that should be meet I feel. When I first tried it, I used a couple of spritzes and found it to be a bit on the weak side, but figured I'd just use some extra concentrated sprays and it'd be fine. Nnnope! I sprayed it 4 times on the same spot (on clothing mind you), yet it still only lasted about 2/3 hrs at best. On skin its gone within the hour! I thought maybe I was just going nose blind due to the ambroxin, so I asked my co-worker and she couldnt pick it up on me either! I also thought maybe it needed maceration, but checked the batch code and my bottle was made in 2021 so that ain't it. This is supposed to be an (eau de parfume) but wears like an (eau de cologne). Really dissapointing tbh, thank goodness I only paid about $37 for a 4.2 oz bottle. I would rather have gotten a nice Armaf or Lattafa instead honestly, but having listened to YouTube influencers who claimed this lasted at least 4-6 hours (ON SKIN) really sold me on it. Like I said... BUMBER! Again, Great dna, but the poor performance makes PCI not worth the pick up. Looks like I still need to find a good "green" fragrance (that lasts) which is still missing from my collection. It's too bad man, lovely scent😒 --------------update-------------- So, because I REALLY like the smell of Polo Cologne Intense (even though it has TERRIBLE PERFORMANCE). I thought I'd try decanting some and mixing in a bit of Iso E Super along with it in my travel decant. WOW. It really helped it quite a bit. The Iso E actually made the opening even brighter and crisper than before yet it did NOT change the actual DNA) , I also noticed that when I sprayed just the PCI alone on my arm, there was hardly any oil in it as it evaporated very quickly and left NO SHEEN which is what makes me think that its actually an Eau de Cologne concentration vs Eau de Parfume. It gets confusing bc although "cologne" is in the name, its supposed to be an "EDP".. Anyways, the Iso E Super I have has a high oil concentration, so it gives the PCI something to "cling onto" thus making it last/perform much longer/stronger! I recommend folks try mixing the Iso E Super with PCI (if you enjoy the scent) and its worth the trouble for ya 😉, It really makes a difference. I actually underestimated it after added the iso... I did 8 spritzes, went to my mom's, and she said "Whew!! What'd ya do, Shower in cologne??" It also did last around 5-6 hours (on clothes) before becoming a decent skin scent. I Guess the Iso did its job and saved my bottle from my looks of contempt it was getting from me everytime id look at it.. lol. TY for whomever took the time, was a pretty long review😶🌫️

Polo Cologne Intense Eau de Parfum Ralph Lauren Released in 2021, Polo Cologne Intense Eau de Parfum have had mixed reviews and is still often mistaken and confused with Polo (Green) the 1978 classic. Landed a Jan/2021 retail batch lately and gave it a full wear (oversprayed). Actually I've sampled it at least 2 times since it's release and liked it but KIVed the purchase till now. How do you identify it? Polo (Green) is Golden Cap, smells more dated and heavier on the tobacco is piney and is rather Polarising especially the older versions the cosmair ones, Polo Cologne Intense is dark Bronze Cap, rather linear and simple, you get the mint and then stronger basil and a little sharpness from the softer violet and heavier ambroxan. Being so very familiar with Polo Green since my days as a schooling kid and my dad wearing it, the Intense is a welcoming change. It is the Modern Day Green Barbershop Scent that retains it's Old School Classic Dna and I'll confidently say this release pretty much makes it suitable for any young adults to Matured and Senior Men. Folks who like barbershopy fragrances will like this. You can liken this to other barbershop scents that have similar scent profiles, a little bit of the Dna in these barbershopy scents that links to each other. Drakkar Noir, Platinum Egoiste, MM At the Barbers, Paco Robanne PH, Chevignon PH, Lomani El paso, Lomani PH etc. It's like a mix of everything, the old + new but I'll say it has its similarities to Platinum Egoiste just not metallic but green classic. Somehow sampling on a paper strips and a spray on wrist wasn't good enough as it's so much better giving this a proper full wear, it brings the needed classic and modern barbershopy dna out and I can't lie but I'll say I've loving this right now. Having growth up with various old school classic barbershop scents and owing some modern days barbershopy scents, I feel this is a great addition to what I have. I should have gotten Polo Cologne Intense earlier. Performance is average at best so would be good if you have go heavier on the sprays to ensure it last you a day. I think I'll use this more often seriously because there's an attachment and memories to the classic scent profile alongside modern styled profiles.

This is a FANTASTIC fragrance! I see a lot of people are rather upset at the “misleading name.” This is far from the first time a company has done this. Not even the first time Ralph Lauren has done it. Dior gets a pass for its endless versions of Sauvage that just add one vague word to the packaging? They’re flankers, you should know this. Try before you buy, look up the notes. With a simple click you will see that this fragrance has not been marketed AT ALL as an Intense version of the original. Honestly I got this cologne completely by accident. My fiancé took me to buy a bottle of Polo (original) so I asked the lady at the counter for one. She said she had a deal on it for $60 for a 4oz. I jumped at it! It was only after opening in the car on the way home that I sprayed it. “Strange, this does not smell like the Polo I remember.” I had heard the formula had been changed again. Getting home into the light I realized the packaging was a different color. I wasn’t upset with the girl, the packaging is similar enough that I didn’t catch it myself during our quick transaction. But I really liked the fragrance. Took it to exchange for the original Polo the next day, but first put a single spray on my wrist for the car ride. Got to the shop, and changed my mind to keep the Cologne Intense at the last minute. I’m still bummed to be out of Polo for now, but I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. I like it BETTER than Polo. I will agree that the packaging is confusing, more so than the name. At this point it’s fairly expected for flankers to have ludicrous names. Don’t compare it to the original, it simply ISN’T. But it is a beautiful, light masculine, inoffensive, and well-lasting fragrance. I do wish it had a bit more of the forest in it, I’d leave the original behind entirely at that point. Another run of Modern Reserve would be nice too.

I just recently acquired this fragrance earlier this week. I gotta say, the hate and criticism is completely unwarranted on here (per usual). If you are interested in something that has a classic styling with some fresh modern twists, then Polo Cologne Intense is worth a spray. Anytime I click and look at some of the user profiles that mercilessly slam on stuff, it is almost always these guys who have 10 or 12 cheap middle eastern clones and two Le Male flankers lol. It's the equivalent of being a picky eater who only eats mac and cheese, trying to give reviews on fine cuisine. I digress though, back to the actual fragrance feedback lol! The name may lead you to believe that this will carry some form of the original classic, but this goes in a very different direction. On first sprays you get the opening with a nice spearmint blast, citrus and sage. After about an hour or so, it dries down to a barbershop fougere style of fragrance. Since I'm an older fragrance buyer, I find it refreshing to see a modern aromatic fougere style release. Anyone calling this air freshener or toilet cleaner just aren't used to different olfactory experiences. Unlike the younger fellas, I don't want my entire collection filled with nothing but linear candy sweet gourmands pumping out 12+ hours performance. I have a mix of everything, and that's not a bad thing kids. The performance on this is perfect for work, casual, and daytime wear. This projects pretty strong for the first hour, then it hovers up to 1-2 arms lengths for the duration of the wearing experience. When it comes to longevity, this lasts on my skin and clothes for a respectable 8 hours before it really fades out. I found this on the shelves at Burlington Coat Factory for $30 (40ml) which is pretty much on par with the online discounter pricing.

I think myself along with a lot of nostalgia nuts wanted this to be the EDP or Parfum version of the legendary Polo Green EDT that got many into the fragrance world. The original back in the day was just epic on so many levels. The version they have out now is just a joke and it's making a mockery of the original. I really hope eventually they do make homage to the original and I think they will as Ralph Lauren is one of the more active and prolific of the designer houses. I think they did a terrific job on the Polo Red Parfum. It is one of my absolute favorite releases of this year and it may leave out the cranberry and coffee notes, it has that "parfum" feel and smell to it. I was hoping this would be that but it has its own identity and honestly I do really like this scent. Biggest reason is it's not this sweet scent that every release seems to be. Like this one has that vibe though I don't understand why it has intense in the title as it don't behave as an intense would. I hate when a release is labeled with a word and they use that word lightly. I would expect intense to in some way be intense. But I like this, it's green, fresh in a way and it's different. I'm glad to have this in my collection. Please now release a EDP or parfum of the Green monster that was so great and strong. I remember putting the OG on and my mother hated it cause it was so strong..I had to put it on outside but when I came in to use the phone, i remember using the phone and a week later the phone smelled like Polo. Everyone in the 80 wore the stuff. I was very happy to add this to my collection. Of course others may not like it but it's far from sweet and I'm tired of all the vanilla and sweet notes so this was a breath of fresh air.

I freaking love this one. It was hanging out under the radar. I was in Macys and finally smelled it, and was like damn! I guess the name threw me off, since the OG Polo Green is a monster and this new one is "intense", I just didn't get it. In fact I didn't get the resemblance at all since this is so fresh and kind of fruity and spicy and a little green, I thought for sure it was just named incorrectly. Then I asked the price and the 4 oz was on sale for $58, and I was like uh yeah no doy I'm buying that size at Macys for that price... I was worried that it may be on sale for bad performance etc, but after buying it and wearing a few times, it projects very nicely and has above average performance and I just really can't stop smelling it. And, it didn't take long for me to get the similarities to the OG Green.. this one is way more modern and more likable and wearable in general (I love some OG beasts btw, just not in love with the OG Green so much, it's a bit harsh to say the least) but it really does have some similarities, like its first cousin or something. I think the opening is what's the most different. It's gotten me a couple compliments already and I think this is a pretty unique fragrance worth getting. It's also one that you just love to smell on yourself, which is a big reason I love great frags anyways, not just compliments, and this has notes that I can actually still smell later and don't get as nose blind to. 70/30 on it being a safe blind buy :) *one note, it's listed in some places as a EDP, but annoying that it's not on the bottle or box. It does perform like an EDP though, just an fyi.

I'm so Positively surprised💥 it's a very Nice well done Fragrance: the hints of Mint With a delicate gorgeous Grapefruit and the Violet Scent that Float, on the drydown the ambroxan is excellent Ballanced. I could definitely see myself wearing it to the Beach. Longevity ist above average , & Silage well it's more than enough. But those Comments about spraying 10, 15 or even 20 Times; Like Why?!!! Just to let others Know you're wearing a fragrance and eventually Start noticing you!! Like, where is the experience of the Fragrance for yourself. Honestly don't do that because at the End you're not truly enjoying it and you're harming your smelling scenes. Tipp: keep Simply a traveler 5ml Sprayer with you, and spray every Couple of hours. have a nice Day🙂 edit 19/04/24 so I ended up enjoying wearing this much more than the OG; definitely still appreciate the OG alot and I know what kind of creation it's, but this is something combining all the aspects of old with the modern twist! I would still wear it to the beach, but honestly this is the best fragrance "For a summary picnic with the friends or family or Simply your(Energetic,Positive Time). It's really gorgeous. I didn't realize that at the beginning but I got the first patch bottles of this. I got 4 gave 1 as a gift to my father, And one is on it's way To my best friend "Brother" 1 Opened & almost Empty & yeah at least need 1 Back Up So let me make a Statment about this Gorgeous Barber-Fougère Scent: if This was in a Creed Bottle going for +150 Believe me People will buy it & hype it alot. But good for us Fragheads😌 Hidden Gem!

This is really good stuff and I'm liking it a lot. I have a feeling this is going to feature heavily in my summer rotation this year. Disregard low votes from people who don't know what "flanker" means. Onto the scent itself: Polo Cologne Intense is a pleasant and masculine green fougere that's mildly sweet. It's aromatic but tastefully modern. The "reminds me of" comparison to Colonia Club is apt, but Polo CI is less minty and less sharp. This is a very good spring/summer complement to the original Polo, which is better suited for fall/winter in my opinion. It's classy and gentlemanly without smelling soapy or "old" (not that that's a bad thing, mind you, just noting that this won't turn away younger noses). I will be a dissenting voice on one thing, however, and that's the connection to the original Polo. Cologne Intense is quite different but there's definitely some of the classic DNA here, especially immediately after the opening minty sweetness burns off and you get into the early dry-down. That sweet/spicy green note from the 1978 Polo emerges clear as day -- is it the basil? Whatever it is, I love it. So a fragment of the original Polo DNA is certainly present. I'd like it to be a little stronger, but performance isn't terrible by any means. Average projection/longevity is what you get with freshies like this. I'm also glad the ambroxan isn't too heavy. It's there at the base but doesn't overwhelm. This is an excellent release and at less than $50 from various discounters right now, it's a great buy.

This release came and went with hype and disappointment to it not living up to its predecessor, but I admit... Ralph Lauren had gotten the name right after all. This one is definitely flying under the radar. As a Polo Green lover, I had sampled it earlier and did not like it, until I saw it a rack store and bought a bottle on a whim. Highly recommend this now and here is why: Is this an intensified version similar to the 80’s Polo? No, you will be disappointed if you try this with that mindset like I had earlier. It will not be replacing even the current version of Polo Green in my collection. Is this a “cologne” style version of Polo Green? Yes, this takes the aura of Polo Green, gets rid of the heaviness, adds some freshness and even some smokiness from the ambroxan (similar to the tobacco feel in the original) and modernizes it... making it the perfect Polo Green for the summer and spring! It still retains the greeness (not exactly the pine feel) of the original, making it unique from the other designer fragrances in the market right now. Now, you are able to wear a version of Polo Green year round any time any place... a feat I did not think was possible! I’m very impressed as I did not think this would be that good, but this somehow works magically, absolutely unreal. Performance is decent. About 6-8 hours with medium projection for about an hour and then gets pretty close to the skin. A bit lacking compared to Polo Green, but once again... this is the “cologne” version, it gets a pass.

At first spray, I got the Polo Green vibe, simply in an EDC summer freshie format. It brought to mind a young Robert Redford with his sunny blonde hair, light blue jeans and a natural tan leather jacket; doing whatever he’s doing in the summer mountains. I also had Varvatos Vintage come to mind at times, though Vintage is definitely its own thing overall. I dig that it’s totally rugged while being a freshie, which is hard to come by in the “supposed to be masculine but just looks like another soccer mom SUV” world of modern men’s freshies. That said, I was left wanting slightly more depth/detail/quality in the individual notes, though it’s too early to draw conclusions. I had two sprays on my shirt and two on my hand, to test performance on both mediums. I was sniffing all evening, though nose blindness happened very quickly. I loved it from the start, though performance seemed pretty soft, 1 hour with good projection, 3 hours soft projection, then skin scent a few hours beyond. I could catch small hints with my nose to that shirt the next morning (12-14 hrs later). Factor in the nose blindness—though I worked hard to avoid it—as well as the limited perspective of a first time use. Full bottle on my wish list, though I wish they had just done this same thing but with more potency. They could have done a true EDT and simply called it something like “Polo Green Sport,” thus avoiding the somewhat perplexing current name.

First day wearing this out, I have to say I absolutely ADORE this cologne! I’m in my mid-late 20s but I love both vintage and modern scents, to me this seems like the perfect middle ground. You get the pine from the OG polo green (I’ve never tried it but I did wear classic match as a teen) but instead of the outdated tobacco and oak moss you get hit with this really great Mint and Grapefruit. For the dry down you have this really nice Vetiver, patchouli and ambroxan, making for this nice clean finish. As far as presentation there’s not much there, it’s basically the polo green bottle with a gunmetal cap and logo, but it still has this charm that makes it look really good among the other colognes in my collection. Overall I’ll say this: Polo intense is just Polo Green reinvented for the modern man. Definitely not a date night scent in my opinion, but if you want a reliable, nice smelling daily driver with a bit of vintage tossed in then this is for you. UPDATE: after a few weeks of using this as my signature I wanted to make note of longevity, which I neglected at the time to include. In my experience it's all going to depend on how much you spray. This is more attuned to a modern fragrance's sileage and doesn't really compare to OG Polo's performance from what I've heard, but it can easily last 4-5 hours on skin and even longer on clothes. In my book it's still a 10/10, just wanted to give an update on my findings.

I first want to start out by saying I LOVE THIS Scent and if your considering purchasing it please do. I actually forgot to put a review when this first released so i just remembered so i will do it now so i don't forget. This fragrance is one of my favorites i first bought the 2oz bottle because i wanted to try it out and when i smelled it, first i'll say let me be honest i have not worn this fragrance recently so i can't be super descriptive but what i can remember it was minty sweet and a bit green amazing smell. So a quick story i wore this fragrance to work my 3rd week at my new job working in an office which i'm surrounded mostly by women. That day i recieved six different compliments asking what i was wearing and that i smelled good and i remember hearing 3 of my coworkers by the vending machine say "hey that new guy smells really good." when that day was over i immediately came home and purchased a full size 4oz bottle. All to say this fragrance smells good and people will notice you and enjoy how you smell i have had random guys in new york city ask me hey bro what are you wearing while i was riding in a elevator or escalator when i wore it on other occasions when i first purchased it. so please get your nose on this fellas you will not regret it and hey you might even purchase two bottles as well.

I’ve been wearing it often for months now and I like it a lot. It initially conjures the memory of Polo, but in a father-son type of way—there’s a definite resemblance, but they are two different people, with different ages, personalities and interests. It’s fairly original and doesn’t smell too much like other modern scents. It has a big foresty-green citrus burst—with far less sweetness than the usual citrus heavy fragrance. Think fresh grapefruit and greens. It IS “intense” in the sense of the sharp scent profile, especially in the first 1-2 hrs, but not in the sense of projection and longevity (which are moderate at best). I’ve caught whiffs that briefly remind me of several different scents, including Tommy Hilfiger (og) Burberry Men (og), Varvatos Vintage, Sauvage, and of course Polo green. There’s a pleasant “pencil shavings” vibe a few hours in. It also has an abundance of the classic, gentlemanly barbershop accord that Fierce and Legend have in their backbone. The somewhat finicky performance is partially my nose’s fault, as I go anosmic to ambrox fragrances very quickly. I can believe people who say they are getting ~8 hrs (with probably very low projection) because I can smell it on clothing the following day. Overall, a 4.2/5 for me personally and fairly signature worthy.

A Green Dream Packaging: Nothing special, but not offensive. "Gun metal" colored cap is kind of cool. The atomizer is fine. 6/10 Opening: A fresh and aromatic blast of herbaceous "green" scents. One can definitely smell the basil, mint. clary sage, and ambroxan. I'm not really smelling the other notes as much, but this is a very pleasant and clean, green opening. 8/10 Dry down: Linear progression of the opening, which is already a good smell. Fresh, green, herbal. 8/10 Longevity: Performance is average and will last a few hours. 5/10 SIllage: Does not project particularly well. Gives a mild sillage after application, but dries down to a skin scent pretty quickly. 4/10 Value: A decent value proposition, as it smells great and is affordable. Suffers somewhat due to middling performance. 7/10 Use cases: Can be worn at day or night, easily. Completely inoffensive, and could be worn in an office situation. This fragrance is perfect for spring and summer, with its green freshness. I can't imagine performance would hold up in late fall or winter. Could be a date night fragrance, but not explicitly so. Overall: Polo Cologne Intense EDP is a green dream: fresh, green, clean, a completely inoffensive people pleaser. The perfect spring and early summer fragrance. 7/10 (not an average)

Polo Cologne Intense is the type of fragrance that perfectly defines what it means to create a "man's man" type of fragrance past and present. I'm unfamiliar with the original Polo, however if it resembles this in the slightest way then I can see why it been a classic and a staple over the decades. The fragrance opens with aromatic, fresh spicy, and gren accords from the basil, mint, and ambroxan, which are the most prominent notes to me. The opening blast is invigorating and refreshing and stays fairly linear throughout its lifespan despite being a bit earthy as it becomes a more intimate fragrance. When it comes to the performance, it gets me through most of a work day clocking in between 6-7 hours with moderate projection the first couple of hours. Polo Cologne Intense strikes the perfect balance at being an aromatic fourgere that can easily become a signature scent for any guy young and old. It's quite versatile and can easily be worn year round, though it would shine most in spring and summer. If you're in search of a modern day fourgere with old school sensibilities while being perfectly modern then look no further. You won't be disappointed!

Who is familiar with the green powerhouses of the late 70s and early 80s will realize that this follows the idea of a dark green, masculine fragrance that is at the same time clean, radiant and refreshing/astringent barbershop. Wearing it I smell a little bit of everything that exists in this classic green mainstream powerhouses: Polo, Drakkar Noir, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Quorum, etc. However, it also has something very niche, which is this mix of violet leaf and ambergris, which brings something Creed-ish to the scent, kinda metallic, radiant. The impression I have is that the perfumer combined those green classics with the bass of some Creed stuff (Silver Mountain Water, Green Irish Tweed, Millésime Imperial) and it worked very well, the idea was brilliant, they did it in a masterful way. It's for fans of Drakkar Noir and Platinum Égoïste for sure, very dark green aromatic but smooth, slightly sweet, comfortable, kinda modern, etc. It sure is a different fragrance from these two because it's a little bit more modern, but I wouldn't say it's unique or innovative, because it reminds me of them quite a lot.

Polo Cologne Intense Eau de Parfum is a green, aromatic and spicy fragrance. Its opening is slightly citrusy and herbal, quite pleasant. From that moment we can realize that this fragrance is very different from the Polo Verde. Cologne Intense goes a cooler way compared to Polo Verde which is drier. After a few minutes of opening, the aroma becomes more woody and aromatic, where you can enjoy an aroma of green spices such as mint and basil, accompanied by a woody base with ambroxan and patchouli, without further changes in its development. Polo Cologne Intense has an updated scent of some classic Fougere's. The fragrance is elegant and aromatic, appropriate to be wear throughout the year, for office work, or relatively formal situations, since it does not seem to me to be a youthful fragrance. Its duration with me was about 8 hours. with sillage from regular to low. I really liked this version of Polo, it's a modern fougere, with classic touches, it definitely makes me want to buy a bottle. As always, my recommendation is not to buy blindly, so I invite you to try it

So this fragrance gets a lot of hate. I get it the original polo green is an icon. The name is misleading. This should be called Polo Green sport. It’s an update version of Polo without the heaviness of the original Polo. No tobacco, no oak moss etc... If Polo green was released now this is what it would smell like. Nothing about this is intense. It doesn’t preform like an edp concentration. It does preform well. I got around 8 hours with 4 sprays. I will say this Polo fragrances aside from OG Polo don’t preform well. This one does. It’s fresh, clean, bright, invigorating. Smell like a clean man. Very masculine from teens to mature men can wear this. Comes off almost preppy. Not a blue fragrance. Some described it as a shower gel type smell. I can see that. Definitely a departure from the sweet unisex fragrances that are so popular now. I like it great for office day time or casual. Summer, spring, fall. Maybe to fresh for winter. I think Polo got it right. All except the name. Just think Polo modernized.

When Id first purchased Polo Cologne Intense about 6 months ago, although I loved the scent, Id left a mad-rant because of how bad the performance/longevity was. I mean it was REALLY BAD! Well fast-forward 5 to 6 months later, I must admit that the (Longevity) has certainly improved pretty drastically I feel. Before, it would stay on my clothes maybe 5 to 6 hours and then it was gone wo a trace, on skin it lasted maybe 2 hours! Wrll I hadn't worn Polo Cologne Intense for a while (bout 4 months) and so when I used it again here lately, id actually noticed that it really lasted a heck of a lot longer that it did initially. Now I find it lasts a good 5 hours on sking and can actually smell it on clothes the next day. Im super happy bc Ive always loved the smell and the modern nod to OG Polo. It does sorta become a dkin scent at hour 3, so I def suggest spraying it on clothes for more lomgevity and over all performance. Cheers!

Great spicy, aromatic, green scent with a hint of sweetness. Smells like a man that takes care of business and doesn't make excuses. It seemed familiar to me, but I can't place it. Thought it was Chrome Aqua, but they're not the same (although their Venn diagrams overlap a lot). Still can't figure it out. To me, this smells miles away from the original (which I like as well). The original can come off as harsh, but this one is easy to get along with but not in a lame way like Ned Flanders. I don't usually wear the original except during winter, but this Cologne Intense is an all-year-safe wear. Appropirate for most any age or occassion. Excellently priced on discounters. Performance is at least average. Two thumbs up from me. Really glad I grabbed this one. It checks the versatility box and kind of makes up for that nasty Ralph's Club I bought. PS. Ned Flanders' favorite cologne is most certainly Ralph's Club.

Love it! Chipre scents are my favourite type of fragrances. I’m at a stage in my lifeI don’t even bother rating scents from bad to good anymore.. It all comes down to see if I can picture myself wearing the scent or not.. Polo Green cologne intense is 100% something I can fit on my day no argue there.. It’s punchy in the opening super aromatic.. It does lingers around nicely on me.. The dry down on my skin turns into this woody green with a light sweet touch which makes me enjoy it even more... The OG of course is the OG we can’t beat that classiness ever but.. It’s versatile, it’s not offensive if you apply nicely, it’s green clean and look... For a day to day scent, you safe mate! I highly recommend any man to grab a bottle and wear it.. Work Uni Diners Meetings Dates even.. I like chipre and I don’t care about what people’s think. I will wear it regardless!

Do you remember back when you were 8 years old, chopping down trees and shaving your beard with a piece of an ancient glacier that you broke off accidentally in a tussle with a territorial mountain lion? Ralph Lauren Polo Cologne Intense remembers. I cannot compare to the original Polo Green, but it evokes the primal manly man morning smells for me. It has a fresh out of the shower blast of mint and raw grapefruit to shake away any residual sleep in your eyes before rewarding you with juicy fruit gum sage and fresh pine before giving you that fresh from the shower ambroxan goodness. It's my scent of the gym and my scent of the morning, because it deserves an extended wear. Cologne Intense just feels like the perfect fresh scent to crush PRs in the gym and hearts in the parking lot before finally crushing it in that morning office meeting.

Okay so RL obviously produced this for people who would like Polo Green if it didn't smell like the 70's. Good news is they nailed it. Probs not going to blow anyone's mind, but I am amazed at how often I see it on my shelf and just think 'oh go on then', not in truth something I think about OG green anymore, where I have to almost psych myself up to that. If you love OG Polo Green but can't wear it as anything other than a deliberate act or to make a statement, then this is for you. Weirdly as it is fresherer, it is also more versatile, I love it on a spring or early autumn day in Oz, and the herbiness is fresh and sweetly basily, the violety bergamoty bit probs helps with that, but yeah it's nicely fresh and green, more so than a GIT vibe, less so than a Missoni wave. You will not get laid or fired, but then again, it's a crazy world.

It seems a lot of these reviews are referring to the OG. This is like the 28-40 year old son of a much tougher 60-80 year old no-nonsense cowboy. As for this one, I’m still digging it after 2 years. Great if I want something semi-rugged and masculine with not much sweetness. The performance really is in a different category of low though—much closer to an aftershave (and not in the British sense of the word, and maybe don’t try it on your razor burn). This also has a decent amount of ambroxan, which I’ve really grown to dislike in the last few years. Ambrox is like having silvery glitter and fuzzy techno vibes behind everything you do, along with guaranteed anosmia. I don’t need it. If I could get an ambroxan-free version, with a bit more warm, gentlemanly base (like the late drydown of the OG) it could be my signature.

Blind bought. Rating should be higher, every negative review I see is because it doesn't resemble the original polo green at all. Opinion from a non expert: I love it. It grew on me fast. Opening is refreshing and different from common blue fragrances. Even though it's fresh, works really well year round in my opinion. Wore it on a snowy day and i caught occasional whiffs and it worked so well with the snow and the pine trees. Definitely a day time fragrance but very versatile if we are talking seasons. Not seductive or anything sexy but definitely pleasant and mass appealing. Didn't love it at first smell, loved it a week after. 9/10. Name is misleading. It isn't a strong performer and it doesn't smell anything like the original polo, but it is a very pleasant smell.

I finally got my nose on this new Polo Cologne Intense at Macy's. After spraying it on the tester strip I was shocked! Somehow they managed to take the original Polo & turn it into a modern freshie with citrus, mint, ambroxan etc while still retaining that classic Polo DNA! I mean, it smells fresh, modern & quite pleasant yet it still has that aura of the original Polo. The more it dries down the more it begins to smell like Polo as the herbal notes, the patchouli & vetiver come through. I think this fragrance is quite unique for what it does. I have to say, this is the first new Ralph Lauren fragrance in quite a while that I am actually quite interested in owning! Sure, it's not an "intense" version of the original but boy is it unique!

I had seen so many reviews claiming there to be no resemblance to the original Polo, yet I detected that classic Polo DNA right away! What Ralph Lauren did here was take the original Polo & turn it into a modern-day freshie. It's very different from the original but the resemblance is undeniably there! As someone who has always loved the original Polo but never really could pull it off, I just purchased a bottle of Polo Cologne Intense & can't wait to see how it wears! I will update this review once I give it a few wears.

Beautiful unique spin on traditional Polo scent profile. Love the gunmetal cap and accents compared to standard Polo bottles. Full disclosure - I believe Armani Eau De Cedre to be a modern classic that should go down in history as about the closest example of both timeless and modern masculine fragrance. And this stuff smells awfully darn close to AEDC. And for a fraction of the price of that sadly discontinued gem of a scent, I am all here for this one. This smells nothing like Sedley. Nothing like Varvatos Vintage. For the $40-50 price tag, this is a must try.

I have the original and really liked it so was eager to try this new version. It has quickly become a love for me. I love green piney fragrances and this keeps that green piney feel of the original and makes it extremely pleasant and impossible not to like. It’s very professional yet mass appealing. It is perfect. I sprayed it on for fun at 8 pm last night and it’s 8 am and I can still smell it on my hand. This is a must own and is not your typical blue fragrance. It takes everything that was good about the original polo and makes it better. Well done

It is the same preppy vintage green soap DNA but modernised by cutting pine, leather and tobacco off and replace with musky ambroxan. It lost some 80’s alpha male with hairy chest and muscular biceps kinda vibe, which my dad were, but this version gives you the same alpha male vibe but now he’s on pinterest and instagram accounts telling you how to dress rich and be “old money” style. To me it’s full with charisma fragrance that may or may not suit everyone, you gotta be the same vibe to pull it off otherwise it might not be the one for you.

A lot of the negativity I think comes from the name - this isn't Polo Green nor does it smell anything like it. If you go in expecting that, you're going to be disappointed. I blame RL for the terrible name. All of that said, I absolutely love this scent. It's very minty, but not sharp. Almost a creamy, barbershop type mint smell. I can't see many being offended by it. It smells like Platinum Egoiste, if you shoved 50 mint leafs into the bottle. It's addictive. Longetivity is absurd. I was getting hints of this 14 hours later.

I got the chance to smell this yesterday! I do like it a lot! Very fresh with that basil and spearmint! Definitely masculine, and certainly has a little bit of that Polo DNA. To me, it smells very similar to Italian Cypress which makes me slightly hesitant to want to buy this; but I own a small decant of that so maybe this will be a nice replacement for it. This new Cologne Intense dries down to a fresh smelling ambroxan, which for the first time in awhile, I’m a fan of! I’m giving this a 9/10!

Omg I can’t get over how much the dry down smells like a longer lasting polo blue. I kid you not... There’s a teeny bit of mint and green nose to skin to remind you you didn’t actually spray the wrong bottle... Having said that it’s actually better and longer lasting so who’s to complain... The opening has a slight bubble gum opening that disappears immediately where a dark green mossy establishes for about 30 - 90 minutes where in it could almost easily be the Blue EDP...

A very elegant fragrance. Smooth and agreeable, a nice modern interpretation of the original. The ambroxan makes you somewhat noseblind and you’ll believe it’s not there, but you and others will catch whiffs of the fragrance during several hours. Got a nice mint note that’s delicately noticeable. Blind bought it and very much satisfied. I think many reviewers try this on paper.... You try it on skin, for several days, get used to it and it will reveal its nice soul to you.

This should be at least 4.1 to 4.2, easily as good as YSL Y EDP. Low score due to the terrible name and people expecting a stronger version of a 40 year old fragrance. Verdant green opening of the original polo minus the ash and leather drying down to a woody shower gel smell with a tasteful amount of ambroxan. Basically 40% Polo, 40% YSL Y EDP, 20% Sauvage. Lasts eight hours, moderate projection. Excellent four season office scent, going to get a full bottle.

This is, probably, my favourite release from the last 10 years. Is it an intense version of Polo Green? No it's not. This is it's own thing, and personally I like it that way. It's fresh air in a blue-sauvage-tonka saturated market. Green, fresh, uplifting, elegant, timeless. Instant classic. If this same scent was launched 30 or 40 years ago it would be a cult classic. Judge it form what it actually is, not what you wanted it to be. 9/10

Ok I bought this new polo green cologne intense a beautiful gift set with two bottles! Trying this new polo one spray on my wrist I fall in love immediately! It’s green aromatic’ fougere’ pine trees ‘forest! And its more wearable all year around! This remind me like Alfred sung purple juice,the original polo green too also I get whiffs of Irish spring original soap. I’m enjoying this new polo ! Always try before buying.

The name behind this cologne just doesn't suit it. I love the fresh spicy green blast this has to offer, yet fruity and smoky undertones. For a 8oz bottle of this at MACY'S!? Yeah, it definitely is worth it. EDIT: I get more aquatic and citrus with this now. The patchouli seals this perfectly... For how unique this smells, the size, and the price, I believe this is my best purchase!

Great value if you search. I got a 4.2oz bottle for under $30. It's a cleaned up version of the original. More fresh but definitely green aromatic. Not strong upfront but long lasting in its essence. I can see how one might go noseblind to this, but I was able to smell it the next day after a shower. I definitely see the comparison to Apex.

I picked this up at Macy’s on sale for $58 for a 4 oz bottle. That was a steal. This is a great cologne. Smells like a newer take on the original. Seeing that I’m not attached to the original, it suits me. I wish it lasted longer. Also the atomizer isn’t the greatest. Definitely worth it for the price however.

Notes from Ralph Lauren Website: Top notes: basil oil, spearmint oil, and grapefruit oil. Middle notes: clary sage leaf, violet leaf absolute, and thyme oil. Base notes: patchouli, Ambroxan, vetiver oil. I really like it. Not loud...but lasts about 5 hours on my skin. It's really pleasing and relaxing to me

it’s interesting, up close on skin this fragrance smells slightly dated (at least for me, a 20 year old) but walking around outside and smelling it in the air, this scent is phenomenal. i’ve been wanting to get more into barbershop fougeres and this $12 10ml i picked up at ross is just what i needed

Hated it at first. Like it now. Thought it would be a bigger Polo Green but got it and only got citrus at first. Now wearing it more and admire it. Great for the warmer months. Bottom line it is very good and great. Nice all around. Got confused with the Original Green Polo and this medley.

Very well done flanker which theoretically retains some of the original DNA but really is a modern green-blue fragrance with excellent performance and very versatile. I must try! PS If you like a niche version of it, APEX by Roja is it but Polo Cologne Intense is really good too!!!

this was my first real fragrance, this definitely does smell like a grandpa. But it’s a great cologne for its dna, lasts okayishly long, and generally doesn’t change much after the opening. On my skin the dry down was awful. but it is a very nice starter fragrance

A fresher more appealing take on Bon Monsieur / Beau de Jour. Less floral. Worth buying. Less "lumberjack" green than the old Polo Green (has very little to do with it, but there are some traces). You won't be disappointed

I guess I fall into the category of those who love this stuff. I absolutely can't get enough of it. After going through my 60 ML, I bought the big boy 237 ML (8 oz). I am also a huge fan of the original.

Smells good. Only wear this in summer that’s the only way I get it to project. Longevity terrible even with ambroxan. Pretty much 10 sprays for this to last more then 3 hours.

I don't get what's not to like about this fragrance it's amazing obviously not like the original but this stuff is good, Polo original with a makeover.

mrastley, I just bought a 8oz bottle at Ross for $50.00, it was the only one I grabbed it quick lol. So far I like it, it’s a mature masculine scent .
