Polo Earth Antilles Vetiver

Got a sample of the flankers and own the og. Antilles vetiver is really solid. I for one am partial against Haitian vetiver because the profile of creamy-delectable and taprootiness of ginseng in that vetiver clashes and translates as an oxymoron to my enjoyment. I just sit there distracted and focused on that aspect of a lot of H. Vetiver compositions and it’s only when the other ginseng-forward joocy vetivers that are the saving grace of my wear (vetiver bourbon by parfum d’empire is my champion warrior) . While this Antilles Vetiver is prominent in H.Vetiver I can get jiggy with it and hell can see myself hunting for a good deal on a bottle FOR USE. Very much a fan of what polo earth is producing.

I love this one. To me it reminds of fall spice, very woodsy. Not sure if I have a favorite of the three Polo Earth flankers they just released, but the Vetiver and Neroli ones are the best fragrances I’ve smelled in a very, very long time. The Sage is good too, but I like the least out of the three. I will be wearing the Vetiver and Neroli one A LOT! Highly recommend!

Antilles Vetiver is definitely an improvement on the original Polo Earth in my opinion. Brighter, fresher, zestier with a citrusy and green vetiver and soft underlying sweetness. A very youthful fragrance ideal for hotter days and spring. The projection and longevity are much improved as well. A winner overall.

Quickly tested all the Polo Earths and this is the winner by far for me. Most masculine and mature, it has a lovely dry breezy freshness, earthy vetiver mixed with the fruit and flora, and with vanilla in the base as a nice juxtaposition to warm the dryness ever so slightly. For context, I dislike vanilla and anything too sweet, yet this is a great vanilla and works well here.

Aromatic Vanilla. Sunny and terpenic. Interesting to sniff, but not inspiring to wear (for me). Leans a bit masculine to my nose. I enthusiastically wear Phlur Hanami and SJP Stash (both marketed as unisex fragrances too). Those two are woody, aromatic with some sweetness. This one, however, is too zesty and unsettling for me to want to wear. Try if: you enjoy sharp citrusy scents and like the idea of a sheer vanilla to temper the bitterness with some sweetness in the background.

I was shopping at a Ralph Lauren store and made the mistake of picking up a sample of this. It issued a head jerk reaction AWAY from the product. Horrible bio-weapon the stuff is.

The vetiver quickly fades and is replaced/overpowered by a somewhat rancid-smelling neroli. It's hard to call this a vetiver scent at all.

God Awful scent. Is confused about its identity. Found a bottle for $16 at tj maxx and returned it the next day.

This smells absolutely nothing like grey vetiver nor the original polo earth. This is floral, powdery, i get the vanilla but not a whole lot of vetiver here. I have a clone of aqua vitae cologne forte (Duas expression of it), and this smells SO MUCH like it. Which is fine by me because I absolutely love the fragrance I mentioned. This is not a beast mode fragrance, but not expected to be given the line and what it is. That said, it lasts a good while even if it sits relatively close to the skin. The vetiver and cedar do come out in the dry down but they are supporting notes to me. If you just handed me this and had me spray it on, there is no way I would even begin to peg this as a vetiver fragrance. The vetiver that IS in here is clean and soapy. It is not anything like mugler cologne (come together for you newer to the game folks) nor grey vetiver or artisan xx by john varvatos. This is its own thing even though it bears a great deal of resemblance to the MFK clone I mentioned prior. If you are looking for a rooty, earthy expression of vetiver, this will not be for you. That said, this is another winning addition to the polo earth lineup, and Ralph Lauren in general. This house is putting out hits, but not getting the fanfare because it is “Ralph Lauren”. Polo 67 edp? Super solid, Ralph’s club New York?? A fantastic release which I will do a write up for soon. I love Ralphs club eau de toilette too, which is clean, soapy, easy to wear. If Polo offered a real deal gourmand and a vanilla forward frag, I could make the argument you can find everything you need within their lineup. Anyways, this can be found heavily discounted, just like the rest of the line (minus austral sandalwood, which is also great). If you want a warm weather fragrance that is not ozonic, aquatic, bubble gummy, and you do not want to pay a lot, here you go.

Im going to break the spell of raves for this scent. Ive tried all Polo Earth variants except the Provencial Sage- based on the generally unspectacular reviews there. And based on the reviews for Antilles Vetiver, I expected more. I guess I am not a fan of the woody and vanilla accords which detract from the otherwise uplifting citrus aromatics. Woods and Vanilla make it smooth but I actually enjoy the crisp almost tart sensation and effervescent nature of the citrus left undeterred. Im finding that I actually really enjoy the Original Polo Earth.. and the Moroccan Neroli is just a little bit more palatable to the sensitive nose. And btw, for those that like citrus and neroli, Moroccan Neroli is a slam dunk. The Polo Earth line has a rather high quality authentic and less-synthetic representation of its notes than what I would expect to find in a designer fragrance. The Polo Earth line as a whole is very impressive to me but I would say this is my least favorite. I think I might have to try the Provencial Sage now!

I received a sample vial after making a significant Ralph Lauren online purchase. I was overall pleasantly surprised at the high quality and great blending. The vetiver is earthly and lighter than I expected it and is pretty pleasantly and significantly buffered by the "bourbon vanilla" profile, which is somewhat playful, burly, and only very lightly sweet. I would say that is element is more a combination of scotch and natural vanilla than anything else. Antilles vetiver is a masculine fragrance suited for hot/sultry summer nights since is both light and casual, yet refined. I can see all ages wearing this but it probably wouldn't be suited for a young man unless he is more mature.

This is dark damp beautiful dry vetiver with a touch vanilla. Some Terre d Hermes plus Boss Orange over it. I cant deny the quality, but I am not sure where when or who this is made for. Not the positive sporty polo guy, not a young happy clubber. Maybe a rich older guy aura.
