Polo Ultra Blue opens with a moderate projection of citrus and spicy accords. **EDIT:** I wore this back in September for a Tough Mudder 10k. It was about 55 degrees Fahrenheit. I chose a couple sprays of this for it's unobtrusive low-profile. I was jogging for 3 hours, fell into multiple pools of cold and dirty water, and crawled through mud up to my shoulders at times. This scent lasted through all of that, a quick post-marathon cold shower, AND still kept giving off aroma later that night. It's a fresh, light, super-sporty scent. But don't be fooled! Just like a runner, it endures through any challenge it faces. --------------------------------- As basic as it is, this is one of my absolute favorite Summertime fragrances. It smells like a salty lemon with a tinge of metallic coldness imparted by the mineral notes. It's fantastic in very high-heat situations because it's not thick, it's not challenging. It's just fresh, citric, slightly salty, and chilling. Seriously, it makes the air around me smell brisk and takes my mind to images of coastal Mediterranean waters frozen over. If that wasn't American enough for you, here's a food/drink analogy: a cold limoncello--dripping with condensation--complete with salt around the rim. Not only refreshing in scent, it's also refreshing in style; Ultra Blue is a breath of cold, crisp air when compared to the common composition of summer-oriented fragrances rife with "sea notes" and "marine notes" etc. Many of these scents come across to me as the smell of fishy, seaweed-laden ocean waters crashing upon drab, rocky beaches. They smell heavy, sour, and somewhat industrial. Some even smell like rotten eggs. Ultra Blue goes for simple salt accord without any oceanic gimmicks, leaving it smelling so much cleaner and lighter than it's counterparts, while somehow doing a better job at instilling a coastal feel. Something that amazes me about this is that a lot of descriptors I'd use for Ultra Blue--"sharp", "salty", "thin", "metallic"--are normally ones I'd use to criticize a fragrance for, but Ultra Blue spins all of these into major positives which allow it to cut through the hot, humid air without piercing your nasal passages.. Performance is well enough--I wouldn't say projection/sillage is very strong but it's present and does push off skin. Longevity is better than most give it credit for. I smelled it on myself a good 7-8 hours into my 12-hour shift at work on a recent 85+ degree day. However, Ultra Blue requires heat--especially body heat and sweat--to be continually detectable. It would seem to die down and be gone for a few hours, then as soon as I'd break a sweat while laboring away, I'd be swept away by that cold, mineralic water again.

This is pretty non-offensive and will scratch an itch if you grew up admiring aquatic or blue fragrances that can sting the nostrils and invigorate you with a "cool, fresh, clean" feeling. If you are one who leans into mineral scents, this is a very decent cheapie that swan dives right into the realm head-first. There is nothing natural about this, nor is there many natural chemicals in most fragrances these days. From the first spray the citron is present: wet, bright and full of life. A realistic salt and mineral accord of aroma chemicals settles into a fantastic skin musk, similar to the freshness of Ghost in the Shell. I got this because I wanted something that I could smell again and again with no issues, and it started as a mystery sample vial that I kept dumb-reaching for time after time. I love it !!

Just received it early and opened it up. Bottle has a slight change in the shape and I could add that the color of the bottle.....transparent pretty much sums up the fragrance. Initially it starts as one of the best dryer sheets I’ve ever smelled and a skin scent It’s also one of the safest fragrances I’ve come across thus far. Its pretty nice. I enjoy it and would refer to it as a fragrance you could wear to take a break from your fragrances.....ie Serge Lutens l’eau. Same clean vibe. Does not smell alike by the way Its very nice and I could see it being unisex it’s certainly neutral and void of much of what I’ve encountered in the fragrance market. Be well

Polo Ultra Blue is a citrus, aromatic and marine fragrance. Its opening is fresh, citrus and some between salty and ozonic, I perceive also some fruity like mango. After a pair of hours, it stays an aroma marine and musky with a little touch of mineral chord. This fragrance es perfect for summer or hot spring days, daytime activities, casual outings or at school. I bought a tester to give to my son and the longevity is very good at least 8 hrs. with good sillage first two or three hours. It really surprises me, because I tested it when it was launched, and the longevity had been of 5 hrs., but I'm happy for my son, because he enjoys it a lot

If you want to smell like you just went sailing in the ocean, while eating a citrus salad, you found it! It is salty, aquatic, citrus. Too bad the scent doesn't last long. The good news is that the you cant over spray it and if you are looking for something to freshen up with until you get to your banger, this is the scent. Perfect for after your noon workout. It will take you most of the way to quitting time where you can get ready to go out on the town with a much better performer!

if you do live where the temperature goes up to 35-45 degree celsius, then this fragrance is just for you. the scent gives off a great oceanic vibe, sorta salty and ozonic at the same time, thus making it a pure blue/marine fragrance. the performance is not bad, the longevity is around 3-5 hours under the scorching heat which works well enough for me and projects for an hour. overall, its one of my fav blue fragrances

so many trolls right here, 30m and evaporates? come on!!! i ́ve got the sample and i wish it was more, the scent is so addicting and reminds me somehow of versace pour homme wich i had, polo ultra blue is ultra fresh and best suited for summer hot and humid weather, it has average longevity about 6 h and 1 h and half of projection on me, i recommend buying only for summer and indoors , home or work or gym

I had this one for a long long time. When it was new it had a strong medicinal bitter lemon note which quickly became headache-inducing. But after years of sitting in a dark shelf, i recently took a liking to how smooth it has become. The bitter lemon accord falls into the background and lets its oceanic vibes come out to play. This version is smooth, refreshing and surprisingly pleasing.

Probably one of my favorite blue aquatic fragrances. Sticks to clothes better than skin so I tend to spray both when I wear. I prefer this over a lot of modern blue fragrances on the market. This is now discontinued and no longer being produced so I anticipate the price to go up when the current stock dries up. I enjoy this enough that I bought a backup bottle.

Light, deep, oceany/salty, outdoors aroma. It is energizing to me. It needs an oil base to last longer as the fragrance dissipates over just a few hours. It smells great and is not overpowering or obnoxious. You will get noticed wearing this, and its all positive. Glad I picked up the 4.2 oz bottle. Will definitely purchase it again !

If this one lasted longer, I would rate it higher. I think it's quite good. Received it for a gift in 2019. Wore it the entire summer and got a lot of compliments. I enjoyed the soapy, salty dry down on this one and I felt it was a good one.

Wow and Wow yup that is Ultra.. Of course it is the heart of the original .. this gives you chance to sit down. Then the real juice shows up..IT Kicks,,man.. they amp up a note that is dragging the whole blue line up a notch..

Lovely summer freshie! Not unique or groundbreaking but it will give you compliments and you’ll feel invigorated and fresh in the heat. The minerals mixed with the lemon notes will give that beachy salty vibe.

Incredible through and through. I absolutely love polo blue edp and this has the Blue DNA but takes it in such a fresh and gorgeous direction. Both are must haves imho... I can't get enough of this one

I must admit i find this one to be really good for summer, it's so fresh and delightfull, some prefer Dior cologne i prefer this one, it sure is just as good as Dior just different.

Polo Ultra Blue was launched in February 2018 and arrived in Brazilian stores at the end of July. Since it was announced in the specialized media, the new Polo Ultra Blue has arrived full of contradictions. In addition to not bringing the nuances of the Eau de Toilette version, showing itself as a new variation of the EDP version (2016), some users were unhappy with the lack of coherence between the name and the fragrance since it was made as an Eau de Toilette. The truth is that the term Ultra has no connection with potency, but with the more refreshing aspect of the fragrance. The concept speaks of celebrating the lifestyle of Ralph Lauren, an eternal lover of the sea and sport and the ad campaign brings a surfer, emphasizing that this cologne does not have the aromatic appeal of before and was intended for lovers of marine/aquatic fragrances. In terms of composition, I prefer to rely on the information on the official website, since the communication should be worked on a universal basis. That said, I draw attention to the notes listed in the fragrance and in the following order (which makes all the difference in perception and evolution): Head - notes of lemon cedrat, bergamot and ArticalT molecule; Body - notes of basil, verbena, clary sage and juniper; Base - salty mineral accord, vibrant woods and AmbertonicT molecule (IFF). Before proceeding, a brief explanation: the AmbertonicT molecule was discovered and patented by the IFF in 2014 and can confer musky and slightly dry nuances. Blended with the molecule ArticalT it brought, as a result, a slightly woody and dry content. On the skin, Polo Ultra Blue follows the aquatic style of so many other fragrances, that is, it does not bring any innovation to the market. It is less citrus than I would like (and expected) and has a sweet fruity facet, which permeates during evolution. The mineral accord is not surprising, but truth be told, it is possible to notice a salty aspect in a certain way. Although Polo Ultra Blue is considered dispensable by some, it is the type of scent that never goes wrong, mainly if worn on hot days. In addition, it always brings compliments, which is a standard feature in this type of fragrances. And do not be surprised if someone tells you that you are smelling watermelon or melon. The companies have very similar compounds, only registered with different names. To close, I can't be sloppy in letting go of important information: Polo Ultra Blue tends to stay closer after a few hours, but the durability is incredible, lasting about eight hours on my skin. Taking into consideration the olfactory path and the volatility of some notes here is proof of the effectiveness of synthetic molecules in some creations. I dare to say: the fans of the Eau de Parfum (2016) version are more likely to like this perfume than fans of the original fragrance. And even if you did not try any of them, if you enjoy fresh and aquatic fragrances, I suggest getting to know Polo Ultra Blue.

Ralph Lauren Polo Ultra Blue is actually a really nice fragrance. I mean it doesn't last like most Polo releases since Polo Blue, but while it is there, you'll smell good. The open is not like most Polo Blue releases, it is bright due to the citron. You get lemon and lemon verbena uptop. The mid is a mix of Acqua di Gio Profondo like mineral notes, amber tonic mixing with the salt and the soft musk from the base. The base is a bit unnoticeable due to the musk. On my skin, I can go anosmic to musk. Polo Ultra Blue has four fragrances that I get it smelling similar to. It smells like a less green Polo Blue. I also definitely get Acqua di Gio Profondo. As well as Chrome Aqua and Chrome Extreme which smell similar to Profondo. Performance is fairly similar to most Polo Blues and the Chrome flankers at about 4 hours noticeably on your skin. Unless you can find Ultra Blue for under about $40 for at least 75mls, I would get Chrome Aqua or Extreme instead. Use for Polo Ultra Blue is very much for casual and work use during warm spring and fall days, along with of course summer. It may stand out enough for date use as well. Overall I rate Polo Ultra Blue at a 7.0 out of 10.

This is a solid blue fragrance worth exploring. Generally speaking, I feel that Polo tends to underwhelm shortly after the initial sprays. I think they use annoying synthetics, and cause anosmia; however, Ultra Blue is the best of any Polo fragrance that I have tried. Still the synthetic part of Polo Ultra Blue can be headache inducing. It does not seem to cause any issues when lightly applied under a shirt, but it also does not last super long on my skin. Spraying over a shirt seemed to cause a headache. I find that Polo Ultra Blue is similar to Chrome Intense only Ultra Blue is more well rounded with the additional scent notes. Chrome Parfum has better projection and performance without inducing a headache, but unfortunately Chrome Parfum has a more “funky” blue scent. Polo Ultra Blue has more character and would be worth trying if the synthetic aspect doesn’t bother you.

Polo Ultra Blue is a clean, aquatic woody fragrance that leans heavily into fresh, slightly salty marine notes with a smooth citrus opening. It feels crisp and energetic right off the spray, with a subtle mineral edge that gives it a modern, almost airy vibe. As it dries down, it settles into a light woody base that keeps things masculine without getting heavy. Performance is decent but very temperature dependent, this is a fragrance that really needs heat to shine. In warmer weather, it opens up beautifully, projecting better and giving off that refreshing, oceanic feel. In cooler conditions, it can come off a bit muted and shorter lived. Overall, Polo Ultra Blue is a solid, easy to wear summer scent perfect for casual days, outdoor activities, or anytime you want something fresh without being overpowering.

I feel like this could almost be called Polo Blue Tropical or something! It's got a HUGE blast of citrus, most notably very strong lemon, and a salty airy quality, in addition to the overall makeup of the original Polo Blue (one of my all time favorites). I still prefer the original over this, by a long shot, but this is not bad. However it Feels a bit more like a mall clothing shop frag though (think American Eagle, Hollister, etc), and feels geared towards younger men/teens. It's super fresh, clean, but much sweeter than the original Blue. Really feel the breezy, ocean/island vibe from this one. Definitely a casual daytime, outdoors, poolside type scent. Lacks the sophistication and layers of original Blue, and it's a bit too trendy and familiar, but it's still a like from me. 7.0/10

This fragrance has nice, albeit generic, freshy. It is inoffensive but smells like many other fragrances out there. The biggest issue for me is the performance. For about a half hour it projects a couple feet. Then the next half hour it projects about a foot. Then for about another hour it sits close to the skin. Scent: 7 Projection: 4 Longevity: 4 Versatility: 8 Value: 5 Overall: 6 For this price there are better fresh fragrances with more character, and better quality than this one. The performance make me think it’s not worth bothering with because nobody will smell you after an hour unless you go heavy on the trigger.

If Blue EDP was the concentrated version, then this is the very watered down version. It smells extremely similar to the EDP, but the suede and the depth are missing. This is going back to Bloomingdales as this smells really good, but it lasted all of an hour and then it was gone. Ultra Thin is a better description. For a few dollars more, or less if you get it from a discounter, I would recommend the EDP if you really like the scent as it lasts more than an hour. A much better choice if you’re in the market for a new “blue” is Armani Prive Bleu Turquoise. This Blue is just too shallow to dive in.

This flanker sounds very interesting. For only 3 notes, there is definitely a uniqueness about it. I've never smelt two of the notes. Perhaps this will be a citrus frag that lasts? I'm a huge fan of the polo brand, and most of their creations have been great. Kind of odd for it to come in only 40ml (I hope this isn't going to be a new trend or rather standard for bottle sizes) I am digging the bottle. Maybe it's clear with light blue-ish grey juice? Definitely on my radar for 2018! I'm glad it is coming out soon before the spring time!

Amongst the Polo's, this iteration of the Blue is one of the best Ralph Lauren has to offer and outstanding especially in high temps. Very pleasant, refreshing and uplifting during the summer. Dare I say classy as well, due to that mineralic touch. I've owned freshies left and right, some more expensive than others and it takes a lot for me to be content with any of them, as they usually strike me as flat and one dimensional. The price alone deems it a worthy adversary. All in all, just an awesome masculine scent for the summer.

I'm learning to like this. Today is the third time I am wearing it and the first time I am enjoying it.Very synthetic smelling. The scent list makes me think of something like Creed Millesime with the citrus and salt but this is nothing like it. Not a bad smell but far from great. Need to update. 5th time I'm wearing it and really enjoying it now. Very nice clean fresh scent with a background of citrus. Only have a decant but I might be buying a full bottle. Strange how your taste can change with a fragrance over time.

Awesome for hot weather. Salty, masculine, oceanic vibe. The original D&G Light Blue is a sumer favorite of mine. This is in the same vein. If you like one, you'll probably like the other. Longevity's nothing to write home about, but it's not an instant skin scent as some are claiming. A couple hours of projection and sits close for a few more. An easy reach for the summer and worth the $55 or so for a 4.2 oz. bottle on discounters if you don't have a fragrance in this genre.

Salty citrus goodness. Perfect for the hot Summer days. Mass appealing inoffensive freshie. Projection and longevity are average at best. Casual and office appropriate. With this readily available at discounters, it does become a safe decent purchase. Easy to wear and reach for on hotter days. Those around you will think you smell nice...but probably won’t ask you what you are wearing.

It is a Nice scent ,Fresh , Clean and Bright. It smells so pleasant, This is a generic perfume and reminds me of Polo Blue Original. It opens up with fresh citrusy and green notes in the background then dry down is creamy musky. The Lemon and Basil notes are dominant in this Scent. I really enjoy it and I like it. Longevity is Average. Rating : 7 / 10

Like the scent pretty much for office and daily use in summer. I take a alot in consideration of what can be used at work environment since its where i spend a great portion of the day. Got a few compliments here and there. When the bottle is done i will just go and buy polo blue edp. This one reminds me a little to moschino forever sailing at start.

This is probably one of the easiest fragrances to wear on a regular spring and summer day, its just relaxed and ultra...casual. Dont get me wrong here, its just a dumb reach. The only thing is that the original is a richer version and smells better quality. I would give this as a gift or recommend to the younger crowd for a daily use.

The opening of this scent is quite interesting - it is airy and transparent, but after about 5 minutes it develops into a familiar citrusy scent that reminds me of a couple of fragrances like D&G Light Blue eau Intense PH and Dior Homme Sport 2017. Personally I wouldn't buy it but its a great everyday scent for sure!

I don't know why everyone is complaining about performance; I wore this today and was still getting whiffs 7-8 hours in, with moderate projection. I paid $56 AUD for a 125ml bottle and am very happy with my purchase, I may consider getting a backup bottle

I would summerize this as: It smells similar to Polo Blue but not as sweet, it's brighter, more fresh and ocean vibe. No one would say this smells bad. However the longevity is not great. I get around 4-5 hours. Great summer scent!

Aquatic and citrusy - run of the mill summer fragrance but I like the opening. Now the downsides - it has zero longevity, 30 mins to an hour and its gone.

Typically I don't like scents in this genre. I have always found sporty, "blue," aqua-type fragrances so homogenized and bland. Standard Polo Blue is downright affronting. It smells like hairspray to me and I will never understand its popularity. Nor do find any of the other flankers in this line noteworthy (Deep Blue, Gold Blend, etc.). But there is something special about Ultra Blue that makes it the exception that proves the rule. Opening it's very fresh and clean, without being soapy or deodorant-y. That brightness never leaves and stays with you all day. It annoys me when scents are labelled as "salty" because I don't think that's much of a descriptor. Maybe there are people who can, but I've never been able to smell salt... And yet ironically, I don't know how else to label this. It's a fresh scent that settles down into something like an ocean breeze. Personally I only enjoy wearing this cologne when it's very hot outside, but that could also be because in general I prefer other types of scents. ***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. I personally dont hate this perfume but there’s just something about that sharp top note of citron, lemon, salt and mineral notes that makes this scent offensively sharp. Over spraying this should be illegal! I tend to overspray this because it does not project but if you’re in a tight space people will get choked up i had a friend comment about my scent saying its like smelling rusty metal and he couldnt stand having the windows of the car closed when i was driving.

Two scents stand out from Ultra Blue: a freshly-cut slice of lime, and pleasant seaweed left by a vast salty ocean. The eau de toilette has a strange yet noticeable "metallic" character as if steel was being pierced. Excellent choice for warm climates. You must have this in your wardrobe, just don't expect the odor to go on for more than three hours. Mostly suitable during daylight, less so for a night-out.

Generic blue, aquatic wanna be fragrance. It’s nothing ultra, just a light, airy aquatic scent. Nothing special. Don’t waste your money on this one.

Big fan of this for seaside holidays, smells and feels fresh. However, longevity isn’t the best

I'm not happy with this one 😞 Maybe I wouldn't feel so duped if it was under their Big Pony range. I thought this would be a post gym scent. Maybe it's more for going out on the beach like a wannabe Ralph Lauren model, posing with a kaftan or a sarong and looking broody into the distance. Then posting it on Instagram or Snapchat. It's that kind of superficial. It's got a great citrus opening for all of ten minutes but the drydown is soo bland. It smells of something and nothing at the same time. You could easily pick up some floral notes like from Next and make this into a perfume Performance also was disappointing compared to others I've worn. And that's the nail in the coffin here because compared to polo Blue, this is poor value. This doesn't deserve the Ralph Lauren name to it. Ive worn Nightflight by Joop, l'anvin Homme Sport and this tries to do the same but frankly fails. Reading the reviews. Perhaps I'm being harsh and this suits hot weather.
