Ralph's Club New York Parfum

Ralph's Club New York Parfum was one of those fragrances that turned into an obsession before I ever owned a bottle. I was given a sample and, for weeks, didn't even realize it was the Parfum version of New York. By the time I figured it out, there was virtually no information available online. I started searching everywhere for it, checking retailers, boutiques, and forums. At one point, only a major retailer and a Ralph Lauren boutique even knew what I was talking about. The boutique told me they'd be receiving it the following week, and sure enough, after a little persistence and a little luck, I walked into a store and found a single bottle sitting on the shelf. Naturally, it came home with me. From the very first wear, what struck me most was how different the structure feels compared to most fragrances. I almost think of Ralph's Club New York Parfum as a reverse fragrance pyramid. It opens where many fragrances would normally end and gradually evolves into something brighter, more familiar, and more approachable as it wears. The original Ralph's Club New York DNA is absolutely here. There is no mistaking the connection. However, the Parfum version introduces a richer, deeper, and more refined character. The oud, fir, sandalwood, and cashmeran create an almost amber-like effect on my skin, especially deep into the dry down. Interestingly, amber isn't specifically listed among the notes, yet that warm amber accord is one of the strongest impressions I get throughout the wear. Initially, the fragrance feels darker and more substantial than the original. You might assume it's destined to be a strictly evening or cold-weather fragrance. Then something interesting happens. As the fragrance settles, more of that addictive New York character emerges, creating a scent profile that feels increasingly versatile and inviting. Performance has been excellent on my skin. I get slightly better projection and sillage than I do from the original New York, which is already a fragrance my wife absolutely loves both on herself and on me. What I appreciate most about this release is that it avoids redundancy. If you own the original New York, this doesn't feel like a cash-grab flanker. You immediately recognize the DNA, but the experience is noticeably different. The original hooks you with that almost instantly addictive opening. The Parfum takes a different path. It sacrifices some of that immediate wow factor in favor of added depth, refinement, and complexity. The bronze bottle is also a perfect visual representation of the scent itself. It takes the New York DNA, darkens it slightly, enriches it, and gives it a more mature presentation without losing its identity. While I don't think it's quite as versatile as the original New York, I do think it's more refined. It's a fragrance that rewards patience. The more time you spend with it, the more you appreciate what Ralph Lauren was trying to accomplish. After decades of collecting fragrances, I've found myself returning to well-executed designers more often than ever. Sometimes a fragrance doesn't need to reinvent perfumery. Sometimes it just needs to smell fantastic and offer its own unique perspective. Ralph's Club New York Parfum does exactly that. For anyone who enjoys the original Ralph's Club New York, this is absolutely worth seeking out. Similar enough to feel familiar, different enough to justify owning both.

This one is just too damn good. And the performance is incredible... When I first saw the images of this, I thought that it was just a brownish/copper gradient to the bottle. When I first held it before spraying is when I realized that the juice itself is actually the bulk of the color, and that was evident on the tester strip. On skin, this is just fantastic. It smells incredibly good on paper, and even better on skin. When I am not at least intrigued by the paper test, I won't even bother going on skin. I've yet to encounter a fragrance that was crap on paper and great on skin. Performance for me is very good. I don't see a big bottle of this in my future but a small one is coming home to the collection.

Sometimes you smell a flanker and say why, sometimes you smell a flanker and say thank you! Thank you for this one - if the original leaned male this is all male. The slightly fruity vanilla original has been darkened just enough. I'd say it's the removal of the vanilla and the addition of whatever they're calling oud. Still smooth, still extremely wearable. The initial spray doesn't remind me of the original NY (it's a bit balsamic) but as soon as it's dry you get the blackcurrant, fir, etc. Instant thank you for improving an already solid scent.

Sprayed this on both my wrists, I instantly got an amazing opening similar to RCNY but more mellowed down on the sweetness, a bit darker. Unfortunately, once this fragrance dried down , all I can smell was burnt fire wood on my skin. Longevity wise it was good , projection wise it was good, definitely a more mature scent, but it’s just not for me. I was really excited for this new release, and I was willing to buy it , but I will pass on this, I think RCNY is better due to its freshness and versatile scent.

I went to Macy’s on my lunch break and sprayed about three sprays on my left hand. I also had a few sprays of Marwa by Arabiat Prestige on the back of my shirt. About three hours later I was at the doctors office getting blood drawn on my left arm, and the nurse says to me “ Does your wife know you’re outside walking around smelling like that?” “ tell her not to let you out the house. Smelling that good” Not sure if it was the Marwa or the Ralph but I will be buying a full bottle soon lol.

Designer houses take note. This is still fairly mass appealing and easy to wear with the vanilla and lavender but with way more character and higher quality composition. My first impression is that it reminds me of Carlisle a little bit. The patchouli giving the special sauce to Carlisle and the cognac/currant/oud combo being at the core of RCNY Parfum. It's very good. If you kike like RCNY and the note breakdown appeals to you then pick it up.

This is a very nice date night modern scent. I’m getting a lot of the Azzaro Wanted line DNA mixed with a tiny bit of fruitiness and woods. It is very masculine and a well deserved flanker. This in my opinion beats the ralph’s club new york EDP for how nice it smells and how long it lasts. I hope this hits discounters soon, or duped, because it is that good. If you’re looking for a masculine but sweet/woody scent, this is it.

This smells amazing. I had the OG silver bottle for a few months and loved that so i had to get this as soon as i found it at a local Macy's. You can pick up the OG scent in there but it is more woody and boozy. This one also lasts longer and projects more. This is a good mix of a young club type scent but an older guy can pull it off. This stuff is just excellent. RCNY EDP has gotten me so many compliments, I had to try the Parfum and let me tell you, it’s just better in every way. Richer, deeper, smells better, and people LOVE it. Don’t be afraid of the oud. It’s a very very wearable subtle oud. The black currant, cashmeran, and woods are the stars of the show.

I love the og and reminds me of warm fall days. The new parfum smells even better being richer smoother sweeter spicier but still retains the original dna. I can’t wait to rock it on fall nights. And the performance is better as it was radiating off of me strongly 90 degrees outside but I’d reserve this for cooler nights.

This is such an amazing flanker to NYC. On y skin it’s a sweet syrupy boozy smell that is definitely addictive. This is the 2nd best in the whole Ralph’s club lineup behind my favourite the Og Ralph’s club edp.

I really wanna buy this one, its a great flanker, darker, more elegant, while still feeling reminiscent to the original, heavily recommend you try it.

Coming directly off my testing of the original formulation, moving straight into this parfum concentration allows us to directly compare and contrast how this updated blend shifts the established identity of the collection. While the previous version captured a smooth, mass appealing evening charm, the structural blueprint for this higher concentration hints at a noticeably more elevated, niche adjacent journey, audaciously layering a tart burst of black currant, cardamom, and green cypress over a deeply sophisticated heart of aged cognac, clean lavender, and a commanding base of dry oud and velvet cashmeran. This release showcases the designer titan attempting to push their boundaries by introducing darker, more resinous, and boozy raw materials to deliver a fragrance that favors atmospheric texture over simple, mainstream sweetness. Venturing into a formulation designed to offer a more mature, powerful alternative to the original, the question remains whether Ralph’s Club New York Parfum can deliver the distinct artistic evolution, superior blending, and exceptional depth required to outshine its predecessor, or if its complex arrangement of spirits and woods will feel heavy or disjointed on skin. Let’s see if this fragrance stands as a brilliant, seductive evolution of the line, or if it is merely a redundant, over-engineered flanker. Opening: The opening is fruity, aromatic, and woody. The primary notes I get are blackcurrant, lavender, oud, and cognac, with the blackcurrant and lavender leading the introduction. Similar to the original, the parfum opens up beautifully with a fruity, juicy, and slightly tart blackcurrant note. However, it arrives noticeably smoother and darker here, as opposed to the bright and lively type of blackcurrant displayed in the original. Piercing straight through this rich fruit is the lavender, completely identical to the lavender used in the original and is utilized in the exact same way, providing a crisp, aromatic, and clean barbershop-like counterpoint to the dark berry. Underneath, the oud manifests as a supporting note of woodiness. In the original version, this woody structure is achieved through the use of sandalwood, which incorporates a creamy, milky texture, but here the wood behaves quite differently. It is by no means a funky or barnyard type of oud, presenting instead as a very westernized version of the note that delivers a darker, slightly earthy woodiness. The sillage matches that robust footprint perfectly, casting a dense and heavy scent trail in the wearer's wake. After about three to four hours on skin, the performance draws back to a more moderate projection of three to four feet, while the trailing scent trail becomes noticeably lighter but remains completely perceptible to those nearby. By the seven to eight hour mark, the composition draws in further to create a very intimate scent bubble resting within arm's length, and the scent trail is only slightly noticeable. The fragrance officially becomes a true skin scent around this same time, demonstrating a very similar level of performance to the original during the first few hours, but surprisingly fading away a few hours sooner. When to Wear: Ralph’s Club New York Parfum, unlike its predecessor, is a definitive fall and winter fragrance that is best suited for evening wear. While it fully retains the same core identity as the original, the bold introduction of notes like oud and cognac causes the juice to lean darker, deeper, and richer, perfectly matching the mysterious energy of cool weather evenings. This is a fragrance that would feel most appropriate when worn for special occasions like date nights, formal settings, or perhaps utilized as a cozy, casual choice for cold days. However, I would not select it as an everyday office fragrance. The original is definitely a more versatile, all around creation, but this Parfum concentration leaves a far greater impact for the right occasion. Blind Buy: This release stands as a relatively safe blind buy, particularly for anyone who thoroughly enjoyed the original version. It does not stray too far from the core DNA established by the house, and it still leans heavily into that mass appealing designer realm. If you are looking for a versatile option you can throw on anytime and anywhere, the original will remain your safest bet. However, if your wardrobe demands something warmer, deeper, and more alluring for the night, the Parfum will absolutely be the better choice for you. Final Verdict: Dissecting this concentration reveals something refreshing, as it is not always the case that a flanker does what a flanker should truly do: build upon the original while paying proper homage to its roots. Fortunately, Ralph’s Club New York Parfum executes that task perfectly. It takes the original blueprint and makes it deeper, richer, and darker, yet it carefully retains that clean aromatic and woody backbone that made the original a masculine, mass appealing classic. I personally would have liked to have seen a noticeable performance boost from this higher parfum concentration, but unfortunately that did not prove to be the case on my skin, with the original actually marginally outlasting this newer formulation. All things considered, I think Ralph’s Club New York Parfum represents a solid, highly enjoyable evolution in the line, and even though it is not a bottle that I will be adding to my personal collection, it stands as a rock solid purchase that will easily satisfy the majority. This is definitely a richer take on paper of the Ralph's Club New York DNA but to make this quick I don't think it has enough depth to be something worthwhile. Given the listed notes from Polo it seems to be lacking....the oud is nonexistent, it's not boozy enough, and at the end of the day I would say the parfum flanker is just an unnecessary cash grab.

Fairly strong & projecting for the first couple of hours, by hours 3-4 it sits closer to the skin & becomes more of a skin scent. Not a bad fragrance as such, but quite cloyingly sweet & can be a tad annoying as you get occasional wafts going about your day. Could imagine this being annoying to those around you if you’re not careful! Wouldn’t say this is blind buy safe, so test before consider buying.

Rmathis below nailed their review and description of this fragrance. It starts out woody, ambery and eventually that fruity, juicy black currant fights its way through and makes itself known. I do not see this as fall winter necessarily. I think this is year-round, but in the summer this is a great night time go to. I absolutely love the original RCNY, and this is a worthy flanker. A flanker that builds upon the original dna and adds to it. I am not getting an enormously smoky, campfire vibe like I have read in here and saw one review on Youtube. It is subtle and that aspect of the fragrance reminds me the slightest bit of the new Dior Homme Parfum that came out 2 years ago. The recent polo red xtreme intense is more smoky in my opinion. This is not a huge projector, but lasts a good bit on the skin. Indeed, it is a reverse-pyramid, which makes me think of something like artisan xx, the silver bottle flanker. It started off very woody, heavy vetiver and then it lightened up with the soapy, citrus dna of the original artisan making its way to the fore. Price is a bit higher than I want to pay for a Ralph Lauren fragrance but this will be found on discounters soon. I found it discounted at onset of launch so we all know it will come down in price. Again, Ralph Lauren has been putting out bangers, for YEARS now. Ralph 67 lineup, Red X intense, both of these New York Ralphs club not to mention the Polo Earth releases. Other companies are taking half a lifetime to create a new lineup, a new fragrance line and Ralph Lauren has done so twice in a 3 year span (I am looking right at you Dior and Chanel). Love this fragrance and so glad to have this in my collection. This is a try before you buy, but if you love that black currant note in RCNY, then this would be a very safe blind buy. Have patience when you first spray it on, it will come out.

I just left the outlet store in Gatlinburg Tennessee where they do not have this fragrance and they do not have a full bottle of the regular New York. What a shame, the only thing they have is a gift box with the New York with two bottles that cost $170 what a rip off for an outlet store. It's a shame they don't even have their own fragrances but Macy's does

wow ... can we talk about the bottle? Look so good, also the notes looks interesting cant wait to try it , this line of RL never fails
