Romance Eau de Parfum Intense

I was hesitant to buy this fragrance because of the reviews but I am glad I purchased a full bottle. Listen, there is NOTHING new about this fragrance. Romance Intense does not stand out from the crowd, but it is this factor that reeled me in. Romance Eau de Parfum Intense smells like the department stores of my childhood. To be exact, it reminds me of a specific mall in LA where I'd enter the mall through Robinson's May and was hit with perfumed air comprised of a cacophony of the latest and greatest. The scent happened all at once, it was chaotic, but it smelled SO GOOD and even though I could not pick out one scent in particular, I appreciated the slice of luxury I was able to enjoy in those moments. This fragrance smells like a perfume card found in the bottom of my purse as well as a fragrance I smell flipping through magazines that prompts me to peel back the sticker and sniff. This is a childhood memory in a bottle and I am so here for it.

Really like this one! I got a little sample and after spray you get the fruity notes which is very refreshing then when this settles I started smelling more of the rose and the florals, I am very picky with rose notes but this one is a very delightful rose and florals scent, very subtle very demure! Once it dried down like after 4 hrs I started getting the woody and vanilla notes but also in a very femenine and subtle way! After 7hrs it's a woody skin scent! I did not got a lot of the patchouli which I don't mind tbh.

I love to layer this scene with Kayali’s Vanilla Candy Rock sugar for a romantic date night. Kayali sweetens it up to my liking for some girlyness and the notes dance well together. This scent doesn’t last very long but I love how deep and romantic it feels. Certainly for cooler and darker evenings. I wouldn’t wear in the summer. On its own, it is a 100% unisex fragrance. It is sexy and intense. This smells like an expensive candlelit dinner.

Ralph does perfumes so well, a pleasant soft romantic rose with black currant fruity sweetness and citrus waves of zesty bergamot waft for the senses. This is 1 of few florals I love. The florals are not overbearing and they dance softly like a warm spring sunset as they compliment the citrus around the 2hr dry down sandalwood and vanilla are lightly hugging you with the fruity florals still present. 7/10

smells great out of the box and ages even better! i’ve gotten so many compliments and this has been my go to choice for over a year now. it definitely isn’t anything crazy but that works for me and my current lifestyle.

After deep diving into trusted reviews and much back and forth, I gave in and blind bought this one....coz I was honestly very curious. I absolutely love Ralph Lauren Romance original, it was the perfume I was wearing when I met my husband and on most of our dates, it's the fragrance he associates with me and I've good memories of it. So I figured this Intense version can't be THAT different from it. Oh boy, was I wrong! No, it is beautiful. However is it NOT anything like the original. While the original is fresh, refreshing, Sunshine-y and just out of shower clean feeling scent.... Romance Intense is dark, woody, almost incense-y and almost Middle Eastern, like there's Oud. I know there's no Oud, it's probably the sandalwood giving those spicy woody vibes to it. It immediately reminded me of Versace Crystal Noir! And a little bit later it also brought to mind whiffs of YSL Cinema (the original one). Where Romance original is a bright day and sunlight, Romance Intense is dark night and moonshine. If you'll wear Romance original to the beach or cafe for a brunch, you can switch it up and wear Romance Intense for a candlelit date night or a bar. As for me, although I really like the Intense one, my true love will forever be Romance original.

Bought this on a whim due to a killer deal at Macy’s. After discounts, I got a gift set with a 3.4 oz bottle, a 1.0 oz bottle, and a 0.34 travel tube all for less than $55! I probably wouldn’t have paid the full price ($140) for it, because I’m a perfume junkie and have far too much, but it’s a nice scent and my husband likes it. I saw someone else compare it to Bare Rose by VS, which I happened to also buy a rollerball of this weekend. I feel like the VS has an opening that smells like champagne, whereas the RL does not; it’s more of a citrusy opening. I’m a woody note lover, and though this may not need one of those perfumes that you cannot mistake for anything else (such as Lancôme Le Vie Est Belle, CK Euphoria, Valentino Donna Born in Roma, etc.), I would hardly call it generic. To me, the most overdone fragrances are the “fruit-chouli” types, along the lines of Britney Spears Fantasy, Flowerbomb, etc., or the white floral types, like Ralph Lauren Woman (which I got rid of), and so many others that smell the same. This isn’t either of those, and I can’t say I have annoying anything exactly like it in my collection.

Got a sample and I'm wearing it right now. It smells pleasant but it's kinda boring to me. It does have a woody element to it, but it also smells feminine, fresh, and inoffensive like all the other florals like Clinique Happy, Dior J'adore, whatever that one green Chanel fragrance is, etc. (Not that they smell the same, but I'm trying to think of demure floral fragrancs off the top of my head) Every time I go to the store to sample perfumes, alot of them seem to disappoint me-- like they're all missing something in them that once made them addictive to smell. Ralph Lauren Romance Intense dries down and has a boring moist/wet smell that must be calone or something but it doesn't mix well with the other parts of the fragrance. It smells like I slathered myself in lotion and a rose scented deodorant stick. Don't get me wrong, it's a good fragrance and a pretty safe blind buy but I feel like you could save your money and search for something better. If someone gifts it to you, it's still wearable so you might as well use it.

This is interesting! I didn't know what to expect from this, but probably more fruit and more rose. The bottle wouldn't lead you to believe that this is as woody, unisex (who cares, wear what you like regardless of gender), but it's a sweetened woody affair. It has some modern elements, but also some of bygone perfume styles. It's quite warm, and smells almost resinous. I'm not sure if that's the "marigold" in here, but something is very autumnal. Sometimes "violet leaf" smells pickle-y to me, but this doesn't. I would like to know the perfumery behind this, because I appreciate that it doesn't smell of dill. It's soft, vaguely vanillic and fruity (even in the drydown I detect fruit), but it's blended nicely along with the woods. Not anything specific, just...soft, blurry woods with warm florals. Very autumnal, and golden brown. I don't think this matches the red bottle. It makes me think of sunsets in October.

This one isn't my personal favorite as it's very heavily floral and intense, but I get the most compliments on this scent out of any of the ones I wear which keeps me coming back. It smells very fresh and clean, however at times it can remind me of detergent. The florals overwhelm any of the fruity notes in my opinion, so it leaves a sort of soapy smell on my skin. Strangely though it seems to hit with many people, and is the most noticeable scent I own. I feel like it gets better the longer you wear, as the less overwhelming the first spray gets the better the scent becomes. I do feel that I need to reapply more often than I would like for something in this price range though, wearing off after what feels like an hour or so of wear. I would recommend either buying the romance sample set or smelling it in person if you can to decide if it's something you really like.

I came across a tester at Macy's recently, and overall, it's a nice scent. Polished, appropriate, classic, put-together type of vibe. Nothing too heavy, extravagant or over the top. I can envision a more mature personality wearing this scent. It's a predominantly woody floral scent with some sweetness, softness and lightness. It has a familiar profile. I'd wear it to professional events or when going out in a professional setting. Good for occasions when you don't want to draw too much attention to the scent. I can't remember how the original smelled like so I can't compare it. Nevertheless, it feels a bit more modern than the original from what I remember. I like it more than the original, but less than Beyond Romance that I own.

I really like this, although Beyond Romance is my favorite from the line, RL still knocked it out of the park with this one. I can tell they were going for something mature but also kind of girly, this is definitely the most sophisticated from the Romance line for sure. Usually, I am not a fan of heavy aromatic and woody notes, at least for women's fragrances because I feel like they take away from the femininity of them. This one is definitely the only exception, it's sophisticated, classy, and sexy.

Out of all the scents in this line, this one is my favorite so far. It’s a got a cozy, woody depth that I didn’t notice in the original EDP that makes it a lovely choice for cooler weather. I especially liked the marigold note here because I felt it worked especially well with the woody notes to contrast the tart, jammy fruity notes.

It’s nice. That’s my lasting impression: just niceness. It’s woody, floral, nondescript, feminine. Smells like the original non-intense version, doesn’t last very long, and the sample was out of my life within a day. To be fair, not my usual fragrance profile anyway but...not one I’ll buy based on the sample.

Lovely,affordable everyday scent , especially if you appreciate woody notes. It begins with a fruity touch before settling into a creamy woodiness. A great addition to my wardrobe. Different from the rest of the line.

I know that fragrance has no gender and anyone can wear whatever scent they want. But, since most designer frags are still targeted as a men's or women's fragrance, I can say that this smells more masculine on my skin and that if I didn't know this was a women's scent, I would have thought it was part of the Ralph Lauren men's lineup. This is very woody, slight fruit notes and not much sweetness at all. Not a love for me, but still nice and would recommend this as a good unisex scent.

Initial spray is sweet, fresh, floral and a bit woody. Then it turns much more green; you really begin to smell the violet leaves. The sweet brightness fades completely and you’re left with a floral woodiness. I don’t find this to be a very warm fragrance; this is green and woody to my nose. Overall I find this boring. I wish the vanilla basenote was more prominent or that the citrus notes stuck around in the dry down. It’s not bad, it just didn’t wow me.

This is simply okay. It isn't anything new or innovative. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. It was not nauseating, however, I didn't like enough to keep it. It was the same scent for me on the skin and just sprayed. The longevity was good, it lasted through a whole 10 hour work day. Sillage was moderate. Overall, not for me, but not bad.

Got a sample of this @ Macy's the other day and it's okay. The black currant note takes precedence with the sandalwood, vanilla, and cedarwood harmoniously in the background. Nothing groundbreaking.

Doesn’t smell awful to me, but at the same time, I wouldn’t purchase. I agree with the person who said it smells similar to a cleaning product.
