Woman by Ralph Lauren

Kind of funny, i was just thinking this would be better suited to be called, "lady" as it does not conjure up any essence of what the word "woman" means to me. Not feisty or sassy enough for this title. Then I realized I just paired this with Lady Million for the first time to see how that goes, and though it smells devine together, the irony of "Lady" is not lost on me. Normally I like to wear soft powdery, woody soap scents after the bath before bed, but decided to change things up. These two pair very nicely so far and I'm getting that wood scent I adore so much. It is definitely more of a daytime/evening scent. Had I thought longer than -3 seconds on it, I wouldn't have sprayed this for bed. It's much more lively than I'm ready to be right now. A dash of Heaven Sent will remedy that, but this definitely is a safe blind buy if you enjoy the reviews below me. They're very accurate. Office/work safe and non-intrusive (if not oversprayed - do not overspray this, I've done so in the past and then wouldn't wear it for over a year). It's fall now and this smells like the perfect scent to kick off the cool weather. Summer may ruin it, as others have mentioned. I wouldn't dare wear this in the dead heat of summer, though maybe cooler summer nights for a date. Fall, winter and early spring sound about right. But this is just how it works on my skin. Some may say they only wear it in summer, so who knows. Try it. Fresh, clean, classy and stylish. Makes me think of young women wearing dress suits and other business attire - busy and on the go. Smells like success. No age limit, not that there ever really is one, but this could be worn at any age and nobody would think twice on it. It's really very lovely. Shame someone said it was discontinued! I'll be frugal with the 2nd half of my bottle, which btw I adore! The bottle is stunning in its simplicity. The lid is very different and suits the plain clear glass perfectly. Not that the bottle matters much after we've sprayed the juice, but it's clean, practical, classy and beautiful. Just like the juice inside.

Ummmmmm. Alright guys. So I work in a dental office and one of the perks of that is that I basically have a free subscription to every magazine on Earth. People magazine, Entertainment, Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, etc. Well yesterday...I was in the copy room making copies of some forms...I look over, and I see the December 2017 issue of Vanity Fair with JLO and Alex Rodriguez on the cover. There's always at least two fragrance samples in Vanity Fair so I took it over to my desk with me. I personally have always thought that Ralph Lauren fragrances are very well made. I don't think I've ever smelled one that I didn't like. They're always at least "good" if not an absolute love and in my opinion...most of them are underrated. So I was quite happy to see Ralph Lauren Woman as one of the samples while I was flipping through the pages. Literally one of the most beautiful smells I've ever smelled. (And that's coming from someone who owns about 300 bottles of all types of fragrances.) I don't like to label fragrances to an age group, or even a gender. However in this case...this did remind me of a woman either in her 30s or 40s. Which is not an insult. This fragrance is an effortless beauty but does have something about it...that makes you think of elegance, beauty, and confidence. This fragrance is still pretty new so even on Ebay...a 100ML bottle is currently running for about $70. But this fragrance is so gorgeous...I honestly don't care. I get paid tonight and I will be ordering this tomorrow. I voted for this above with a love because it is absolutely gorgeous. However, since I don't have a bottle nor have I tested it in a store...I did not vote using the sliders. I will do that when I receive it in a week or so and give it a proper wear. But seriously...this fragrance is incredible. Absolute game changer for me. I'm in love. I can see myself wearing this often...even considering how many fragrances I have. Ralph Lauren does it again!! Two big thumbs up!! Scent Itself - 10/10 <-- RARELY do I say that.

I love love love it! From the packaging which reminds me of a zippo to the advertising and to the scent itself, its all a very solid love. Since we're on a localised lockdown where I live in the UK I've been doing a lot of blind buying and this has to be one of my most successful blind buys to date. As well as the bottle intreguing me, the notes list did as well since I love a good rhubarb and blackcurrant fragrance, I couldn't however picture the blackcurrant and rhubarb notes actually working together, nor could I really think of how the hazelnut notes would smell mixed with them and the tuberose, I had to buy a bottle to try it for myself! Ok, firstly the bottle looks very elegant and also a bit badass at the same time, its a very simple, heavy glass bottle with a gold plate which simply says Ralph Lauren on it and is adorned with a hinged zippo-like lid which has RL engraved on it. The scent itself is wonderful, I'm actually releaved that for once a designer has made a scent which isn't a gourmand or has a lot of sugar and confectionary in it. The opening is a strong, salty/floral sweet affair which is a result of the tuberose mixing with the orange blossom and the pear, it quickly settles down and the rhubarb and the blackcurrant comes forward and adds a tart, crisp freshness to the composition which prevents the floral notes from becoming too heady and overbearing, the woodsy notes are light and help to round off the entire scent. I can't detect any of the hazelnut or the rose notes on my skin however. The silage is moderate, 3 spritzes is enough to get you noticed but not enough to really offend anyone, unless you are really heavy handed and I can get about 7-8 hours of wear from it, for an EdP to my nose its light, but its elegant and indeed womanly, I'm wearing this in the autumn and I also think it will work well in the winter and the springtime, the summer, however I do think it could become quite cloying and heady but could work on a cool summer day or evening.

I love this scent and I hate that it's been discontinued!! I feel so pretty, classic, and put together wearing this, and it's what I reach for when I don't know what scent to wear. Somehow, it pairs well with every lotion and body wash I have, and it layers nicely with every other perfume I own, as well. Since it's blended the floral, woody, creamy, and fruity notes so well, it really is versatile as a layering scent. If your perfume is too masculine and woody? Add this. If it's too sharp and green? Add this. If it's too screechy of a floral, add this. Woman layers well with EVERYTHING! My personal favorite is to layer Memo Marfa with Woman. Marfa is Woman's gender-fluid cousin, by the way. It's timeless, ageless, and can be worn out on a date or to the grocery store. It's equally appropriate with jeans and a t-shirt as it would be as a wedding scent. It has decent projection, decent lasting power, and I've gotten many compliments on this one. I have this and the Intense version, and if Ralph Lauren releases any flankers, I'll probably get those, too. It's just an easy to wear, pretty scent, and I'm the only person I know who owns it. So, it's even somewhat unique. Ya don't see rhubarb and hazelnut in every perfume. 9.6/10 - not quite perfect but damn close

Enjoying the evening with this scent. It's precious. It's just like a favorite gem. You just sit and admire it's beauty. It makes you feel like a queen. It's just amazing to me. Meghan Markle would be a perfect face for this perfume. It's bright, sparkly as her eyes when she looks at her prince, it's vibrant, full of life, and as charming as her personality. The bottle has a very much needed flip top. With so many perfumes, it's hard to find a top at times! This is a necessity! Even cheap bottles should have grandma crocheted strings as far as I'm concerned. The bottle itself is a bit plain. I think I might like a little lettering like, the golden initials of RL. Even plain, it doesn't have a cheap look to it. OK...a teensy bit maybe. But I still love the whole look! This isn't a complaint, just a small preference. This scent is so pretty, after holding an infant that has picked up your scent, it would still be appropriate. It's just that lovely. I haven't ever smelled any other Ralph Lauren fragrances for women. But I'd be willing to bet someone else's life, they wouldn't be any better than this!

When i was at the mall 2-3 months ago(which is a rare for me) i was sniffing my way around the perfume counters with a sales associate tailing me trying to sell me on certain frags. she held up RL woman and told me to try it and i politely declined. i hadn't smelled anything that i loved by RL since Ralph when i was 18. This was a huge mistake! i had gotten a magazine with the insert inside and decided to smell it without being pressured to buy it. instant love!!! i love tuberose and it is quite prevalent in woman. the hazlenut gives this a sweetness along with pear. woman is more of a "mature" scent. i personally do not believe in putting any scent into an age bracket, so what i mean when i say mature is that this wouldn't be a recommendation to someone who is looking for something new that loves only scents comparable to BS fantasy or Pink Sugar. You would most likely smell this only on women 20+. i am 34 and i love a variety of frags from super sweet to musky to woody. RL woman is classy and beautiful and also one of my absolute favorites.

I adore this fragrance. It is a smooth buttery tuberose fragrance. If I had an office job this is the kind of fragrance I would likely wear. It's beautiful, but easy to like and just a little serious and mature. It's not something I think of as sensual or playful. The opening is bright and a little sweet. The mid is mostly a buttery tuberose. The tuberose is not the heady or indolic tuberose. It's more similar to Givenchy L'Interdit than Gucci Bloom. In the drydown there is a hint of woodiness added. The performance is a little disappointing. It only last 3-4 hours with a very soft projection after the first hour. This would make an easy to wear signature fragrance suitable for most occasions. I would be careful with it in very high heat and humudity as the buttery/creaminess might go a little off. I really enjoy the bottle design. The glass is nice and heavy and the components feel well made. The flip-cap clicks nicely into place.

Ralph Lauren Woman is beautiful to me. When I first blind bought it I was unimpressed and ready to swap it. I’m glad I didn’t though. It smells fruity, a yummy lactonic pear-peach mixed with modern tuberose (not at all old school, very light and feminine tuberose). It’s pretty easy to find and sample before purchasing, but for those contemplating a blind buy it reminds me of Burberry for women (the 90s one) mixed with J’adore absolu. In fact, if J’adore Absolu is a French young woman with everything that entails, RL Woman is her American counterpart, bubbly, smiley, good hearted and charmingly approachable. I love both, and I think RL Woman will become a classic. I’m hoping for a wintery/intense/absolu version, maybe with the hazelnut note really amped up as I cannot smell it here. Of note, I don’t like other RL frags in general. Edit: Layered with Serge Lutens’ Jeux de Peaux and there’s an irresistible hazelnut note throughout:)

The Short: Really really like it almost love. Playful and sophisticated at the same time. The Long: This is such a nice lovely scent. Fruity and floral with softness given by the hazelnut. How did they blend this so well? Wears really well, the pear rhubarb seem to last a decent amount before dry-down. There is a nice tuberose and a little something sweetish (not candy sugar). The heart and base notes are hard for me to discern, very pretty. Make me think of a boss lady who will participate in casual Friday and happy hour (but, expects excellence from her reports until 5pm). This could easily turn to a love for me. I will be wearing it a little more often. Solid 6 hour wear on my skin, projection is arms length. I have a huge bottle. I want a back up; most scents I love go into extinction as soon as I discover them. Feminine scent, office safe. Any age could wear this.

Footnote I’ve decided to add to the top: I can’t remember which Woman I was using. 😫 This one, the Intense... and why does it look like there are 2 different bottles for Intense? Hmmm. I started wearing this as soon as it came out. The flask bottle was sexy and unexpected from Ralph Lauren. As was the scent. This is your soulmate entranced with your naked body standing before them, made into a scent. Lust and love thick, heavy in the air. Jessica Chastain was the perfect person for the advertisements. Purposely dressed in a pant suit with the top unbuttoned, as if she’s come home from her job as CEO of a multi-billion dollar company and begun undressing. Yet still, giving the most feminine energy. Being a bombshell redhead probably doesn’t hurt at all! Definitely picking up bottles of Woman and Woman Intense when my finances allow me to.

Im so addicted to this perfume, can’t stop. Won’t stop. Its honestly the most delicious, sexy, gorgeous fragrance ever. It oozes sex appeal, and has such a mystery to it. I smell it and I literally melt in its presence. You will hear me... ‘mmmmm’ This is iconic for me, its a perfume that will go the distance for anyone. You can wear this day or night, work or dinner out. Its the kind of perfume you wear and own. It does not wear you, and that’s exactly what you want. I get lots of pear in the opening and then quickly get a hit of delicious woody notes which take me to some beautiful forest, bathing in the fresh water... Can you tell im obsessed? I am. No doubt about it. This is not your sweet or floral take me to the movies kind of perfume. This is a sultry, fruity, rose, and woody, take me to your place kind of perfume... get my drift?

I am addicted! Never thought I’d see the day where a perfume would override my beloved Black Opium, but hey here we are :O I can’t believe no ones noticed that this is similar to Roberto Cavalli EDP for women, they are crazy similar. That juicy amber smell with a floral hint. I keep stopping mid review to sniff my wrists, god damn. Ralph Lauren perfumes are normally so boring or generic but this is like crack in a bottle. “Woman” was definitely the right choice of name, I couldn’t picture this on a teenager, however, I think it’s a bit young for the senior ladies crowd, so I do think it’s suited to us females who have entered womanhood and really starting to own that - think, woman who owns the workplace wearing a sharp stiletto heel. That’s what I picture. It’s not a soft perfume so if that’s what you’re after, walk the other way :)

When I looked at the bottle, bias formed in my mind- an unremarkable fruity white floral it must be, I thought. But when I sampled this fragrance, I knew that I had stumbled upon something special. RL's Woman makes me think of Burberry fragrances released in the early 2000s- elegant with a slice of sophistication and the makings of a versatile fragrance. In woman, you are welcomed by a juicy opening of pear and slightly tart rhubarb, but only just slightly. What makes this fragrance are the white florals floating above a base of meltingly warm hazelnut. This is no basic floral, but it is not heart stopping either. This is a floral that you wear daily, not for special occasions, but to be remembered by as your signature scent. Just like with romance, RL did something very right with this composition. A strong like for the books.

Delicious, yummy, zesssssty, fruity but not over citrusy... pear pear pear... super feminine and girly...blind buy by only read the notes on fragrantica. And its worth... never regret. And since i bought it at cheapest... i will buy again for backup!!!! Perfect for day time, spring, summer though the performance not so great during hot weather. Greater performance if you use it at cooler weather. Its joyful, cheerful, perfect for casual wear. Projection and sillage are good, very wearable since it wont hurt anybody near your with its "strong" opening. Longevity is average, about 4-6 hrs ( 1 spray). And the dry down is very nice on me...so soft, flowery, a bit creamy (maybe its the hazelnut) but not over creamy... just nice and smooth... perfect for romantic moment. Love it love it love it...

Finding a new scent tends to be a challenge for me but not this time. I hadn't seen it before so I picked it up to give it the initial sniff and surprisingly I really liked it so I went to the spritz on the paper test and Walked around for awhile comparing it to a few others and every time I sniffed Woman on the paper it made me smile. So I went to the wrist test and walked around and shopped for a little while longer. I continued to love this scent on me and even as it evolved and settled in I still loved it ( more smiles). I'm wearing it as I sit here in the winter doldrums and it cheers me up and amazingly it doesn't turn or disappear on me like many scents do. To me this scent is soft, sexy and like a taking a nice deep breath on a sunny spring day.

Finally got to trying this on skin. Skin is a bit misleading because one probably assumes I meant wrists, inner elbow, neck, down shirt, knees... phew. No, I sprayed this on my ankle. Probably not the best place to spray but, you know, when in a pinch. Anyway, this is definitely a feminine scent. No doubt about that. A guy can wear it easy, though. It's got that wonderful, shining and almost metallic white musk and tuberose/jasmin feeling to it that just sings on the skin. I can see this being perfect for Winter or Spring. A bit too floral for Autumn vibes, a bit too heavy for Summer. Of course, this is just my opinion. I don't think it could smell bad ever... it just may fall a bit flat or project into the heavens and cause headaches. It's that strong.

I initially smelled this on a magazine page 4 years ago, which one of my co-workers bought. And I always LOVED it whenever I get a whiff of it when she passes by. Years later, I bought my own bottle just for that. By the first few minutes, I thought it smelled more mature than how I wanted it to be (For reference, I'm in my mid-20s). I was worried that I won't like it anymore. But thank god I waited for the drydown. It smells sweet, creamy, smooth, tart (the rhubarb), feminine and is sooo long lasting, especially on clothes! Everytime I smell it, it just puts me in a good mood. The longer it is, the creamier it gets... if you get what I mean. It exceeded my expectation, especially for its price.

Woman is a well blended concoction of fruity pear, creamy tuberose, orange blossom, and fragrant rose within a woody base. It is pleasant and safe to wear for any occasion. I found Woman while shopping at a Ralph Lauren store with a friend and we both fell in love with it. It reminded us of a past scent but neither of us could pin point what. Now that I have had it a few days, I can say it reminds me of my old bottle of Burberry The Beat, which I got back in 2008 and has since been discontinued. I really loved wearing that and I’m going to enjoy wearing this. So glad to have found Ralph Lauren Woman! Ps Longevity is very good on clothes, I can still smell it after 10+ hours

So, after testing this right around a year ago, I finally got a bottle. I smell primarily tuberose and pear. Pear can be tricky on my skin or smell too aquatic but here it just tamps the tuberose down a bit. I do not smell rhubarb at all. Of course, I’ve been wearing Lady Diana a lot, which is rhubarb forward, so that may be why I don’t get any. This is not too strong but it isn’t a skinscent. Lasts about 6 hours on me before having to reapply. It isn’t groundbreaking — it sort of reminds me of both Gabrielle and Beautiful Belle, although it is NOT a dupe or a smell-alike, they are just in the same family. Easily wearable.

The name for this is very fitting, smells like a typical 'womanly' fragrance. That's not to say it's generic though, because it isn't IMO. It just means it's not girly or too mature - for those who like to attach ages to perfumes I'd say it would work for anyone late 20s to their 60s. It's creamy, a little spicy/peppery, quite airy, slightly sweet - just classy overall without being too much of anything. I have realised that after very long wear, the 8th hour or so, it gets much sweeter than what it starts out as. But by that point it's so subtle (on my skin) I can only detect it by putting my wrist right up to my nose.
