Atractone Musk

Got tbis a couple.months ago but never got around to reviewing it till now, So kinda/Sorta understand why Atractone Musc is recieving this negativity as I too was NOT a huge fan (AT FIRST). The more I wore Atractone the more I began to appreciate it. As some here say, the Musk here is an "Anamalic Musk", but its certainly NOT "Fecal or Pissey" to my mose. This type of Musk is more of a "Clean sweat" type of Musk, together with the Raspberry and the airy-ness the Aldehydes provides makes this an amazing fragrance indeed! I've also found that its FREAKIN' AMAZEBALLZ for layering with! Believe it or not, it paires beautifully with 80's/90's Green Powerhouse fragrance like Jaques Bogart-Signature, Ralph Lauren's-Polo and especially Carlo Corintos Classic which already carries a similar Raspberry note. In addition to the "Airy quality" Atractone Musk has, there is a "Thickness" to it offered up by the beautiful, artificial yet very natural smelling "Deer Musk" which again, is NOT a pissey type of Musk. That Anamalic quality isnt distracting at all bc the Raspberry is front and center and lasts throughout the entire wear, but when layered the Musk adds so much depth to your other fragrances. Its pretty awesome imo! Now, only a very small amount of Atractone is needed bc its potent and it projects very well in addition to lasting a very long time on skin and especially on clothes. Atractone has out-lasted EVERYTHING Ive layered it with and thats with only half spritzes (Great Atomizer.) Oh, and dont fear the Aldehydes as they only offer an airy-ness and are basically imperceptible to my nose. So folks, if ya dig (Slightly anamalic "fuzzy type musks") as well as the note of Raspberry, Atractone Musc is an absolute winner! This is Unisex leaning feminine imo and an 8.5 outta 10 in my book and in the running for becoming my all-time fave musk! CHEERS and BLESSINGS🙏😉!

One of the best pure musk scents... I love it!! This one is really easy... at least to describe, although not as easy to wear. Speaking with Ramon Monegal, he told me that this perfume is not for the light hearted, nor for “smelling nice”, this perfume was conceived as a conversation starter piece of art... and it truly is... that’s if people can actually stand being around you long enough to have a conversation. But don’t get me wrong, it’s one of my most favorite perfumes ever, and not just from the artistic point of view, I truly love the animalic scent in it! Now, what’s this concoction about... well, the opening has a very strong animalic scent, bordering on ammonia/urine... it would be hard to wear this perfume in most settings, it requieres a very strong character... and in contrast, the drydown has one of the loveliest sweet musk scents in the market. The rest of the notes are just there for the ride, not noticeable on their own... in fact, all you’ll get is musk, the most alluring sweet musk. This perfume is quite similar to Tonka 25 from Le Labo, just with more of an animalic side, which will never completely fade. It is completely unisex and wearable in cold or mild days. Performance is very good, projection is moderate for almost two hours and then it becomes intimate, longevity is 10+ hours. If you like musky animalic perfumes, Atractone Musk is probably one of the best... if you rather do musk without the animalic, you can go for Tonka 25 from Le Labo. For me, this perfume is an instant favorite!!

**Update 2 months since purchase*** Since Ive had Atractone Musk the performance is now even better/longer lasting! I tell yall NO LIE! Nowadays Ill do just one spritz on my arm to test at night, and this stays on my arm untill the following day, into the AFTERNOON! I own around 200 fragrances and this may be the longest lasting scent I have! Its got great projection, but NOT "Nuclear" like say.. Montale's-Patchouli Leaves does. Both fragrances lasts just about as long tho. Also the scent became richer while retaining that "Airy-ness" from the Aldehydes. Man! This stuff really is amazing. Now I consider Atractone Musk a 9 outta 10 vs an 8 outta 10 bc it Maturated beautifully! Again, Raspberry and/or "natural smelling"- Musk lovers, REJOICE!! lol! Cheers😉

Wow, Atractone Musk is a great musk fragrance. The best way I can describe it is 'sterile'. I will admit, I don't think it's for everyone. To me, it slightly resembles the scent you'd encounter in a medical environment. Even though it's an oddity, I can't stop smelling my wrist, because it's extremely smooth; a smoothness that I don't typically encounter with musk fragrances. I usually struggle with raspberry, but here it's done very well in the base. Again, this is VERY smooth. Very impressive stuff here. I'm not sure if this is something that would garner compliments, but I would definitely enjoy it on a cozy day in or a casual day running errands. If you're looking for a good musk fragrance this one is worth checking out!

I get so many compliments on this one; why? Not sure. One of the very few fragrances I have trouble describing. The scent is a combo of two sides: 1 is a wild & sharp pheromonal musk and 2 is a clean white soapy laundry base. Almost like they’re battling each other throughout the life of the fragrance. As you know people describe fragrances as colors example “blue”. This to me is a gray scent. The compliments have passed every fragrance I have in my collection by almost double.

Atractone Musk by @ramonmonegal If I had to put a color to this perfume, it would be “scarlet red”. The perfume opens with an animalic burst of bright pinks plus some fresh and airy sensations, it is a powerful and intrusive top full of this red/pink “floral bouquet”. It is not as strident as that of a Toy Boy, here Monegal's work has style, naturalness and elegance from the beginning, displaying this melancholic way of composing the house, directly inspired by those uninhibited floral perfumes full of character from the 60's but with a modern twist for today's user. Little by little, the composition reveals soft fruity touches of an acid and slightly sweet raspberry, accompanied by white flowers such as jasmine and lilies that give this fresh and bright vibe that we generally look for in Spring fragrances. Advancing with the development, that velvety sensation of the musk gradually makes its way, and here the challenging part of the perfume is also perceived, a bit of dirt given by the cumin note that I personally do not perceive as such, but rather It unfolds like a kind of somewhat salty/dirty ambergris and that proposes (for better or for worse) a unique and unrepeatable olfactory trace. I could venture to say that it is one of the most powerful and daring floral/musky compositions that I have tried in recent times. Finally, the perfume culminates in a creamy and smooth way with an increasingly noticeable musk and a small contribution of warmth and sweetness thanks to notes of amber and sandalwood, the "signature finish" of the Monegal compositions. To finish, I could tell you that in addition to being totally unisex, the perfume enjoys an incredible performance with a very intrusive projection for the first 2 hours, and a trail that is always perceptible at just over a meter and its duration on my skin easily exceeds the 10/12hrs, I recommend taking care of the trigger.

I originally hated this perfume with a passion but I've been testing it again and changed my tune. I still don't like the indolic floral heart or sweet raspberry, which are amplified into the stratosphere by aldehedes. So indolic it smells like cigarette smoke on a woman that wears too much perfume. However, I've learned to tune those out until they disappear, and what I'm left with is a nice and clean but also dirty molecular musk accord. NOT a safe blind buy. I'm actually surprised so many people here like it. I wear genuine deer musk, castoreum, hyraceum, ambergris, etc and I find this challenging. In any case, I really like the drydown.

I don’t Want to be wrong but I could almost swear this has real deer musk. Maybe to a 5 ratio which it’s perfect but still very detectable. I would say if you do appreciate real musk give this a change. I like it and planing in buying a full bottle. But it’s not for the masses.

Not at all a safe blind buy, but this dirty beauty is going into the 'Sexy Scents' section of my fragrance armoire. Intense, zesty floral opening that dries down to sexy, musky, animalic pheromones accompanied by a single raspberry. Mmmmm.😌

I never leave negative reviews, but this one deserves one. And I normally LOVE Monegal as a house and their creations. How can someone want to smell like this? I grew up in Brazil, and my grandpa always used this black/brown Phebo bar soap. This kinda smells like this soap. It is repulsive! I have been sneezing for about 30 minutes straight since I sprayed it on my arm, and my boyfriend entered the room and literally said: “I hope this one is just a sample”. LOL

I was expecting A LOT from the notes of this perfume. On paper it sounded amazing. I love clean and musky profiles, aldehydes, sandalwood, musc, jasmine, lily of the valley... But this has gone SO WRONG on me I can not even understand how it can smell so badly on my skin. First of all, I can't tell if the problem is an animalic musc or a very nasty indolic jasmine, but as for now I have never had any kind of issues with any other white flower or musky perfume. Musc have never been too dirty for me and white flowers, even the more nauseating ones never had that indolic smell that others identifie with feces. UNTIL NOW. This perfume smells to me like a laundry-like perfume layered with a musc base perfume (Such a JHAG's Not a perfume), all of that topped with... some nasty body fluids. Name it: sweat, feces, urine... I can't identify it, but on me it reeks. I am so sad because it sounded perfect. I wanted to love it. I love white florals. I love musky perfumes. I love clean aldehydes... But I just can't stand this one.

Well I can’t say I’m surprised I don’t like this sample seeing as how I don’t generally like musky or aquatic scents & this is a musky floral aquatic scent 😂 you never know unless you try. This one gives me a headache.

Smells like sweet body heat, a pheromonal musk. I imagine the sympathetic transition of goosebumps over freshly bathed human skin, to frisson during a carnal encounter with someone you love; the somatic synchronization of two heart beats and bodies in crescendo. The aftermath digressed to a tranquil sensation of taking a semi cold nap afterwards. Musk will react differently on everyone, this is what this smells like to me. 🫠 And I love how it’s stated on his site “I am Atractone Musk: The Law of Attraction”.

Pure musk... It is the smell of sex actually! i do get that pure musk with a touch of ozonic note, and def aldehyde. Unfortunately there is a lily of the valley, and also there is lilac. It is the real musk that you will ever can get, but the price tag is a bit overpriced. Beautiful.

Dirty animalics and clean laundry musk. Faint floral touches. Projects for 2-3 hrs, then fades to a skin scent. Overall, Arquiste Ella is a very similar fragrance that’s done a bit better, with a more interesting composition.

This smells like it has a leather/suede note. And I don't like those scents in perfume. I wanted to like this, but it smells like a leather jacket. I was hoping it would be a cozy musk

This is a strange one. Definitely getting dirty musk but with an almost aquatic tone to it. Not getting laundry style musk. No citrus. No cumin. It somehow works and I like it.

There is an animalic, slightly stinky note I can’t get over. Not for me.
