Cotton Musk

I have to review this one again. I am still disappointed with so many neutral or bad reviews and dislikes. Although maybe I understand it, because this perfume is acting totally different on different people. Some of my friends have tried it on and it smells really bad and totally different on some of them. But I love it. After testing it for a long time, I had to buy a full bottle of it. And now it is one of my favourites. In my country, Monegal perfumes are a bit cheaper than on official site, have no idea why. Plus, I don't find it that expensive, comparing to other brands. Maybe it is just me, but I haven't smelled perfume similar to this one. Never. It definitely reminds me of something, maybe i could also find what exactly this something is (probably some cosmetic product or maybe even detergent), but I don't want to. Because mainly, it reminds me of a feeling. Feeling of being secure, it's not so much fresh linen as it is a feeling of being in a soft bed, feeling happy and cozy. It is one of the most live perfumes I own. The musk here is really attractive and it connects with my skin perfectly. Although sillage may seem weak, I think it stays with me for the whole day, somewhere in the back. Once I said this was a "mommy" scent. But in the most beautiful way. It gives me feeling of crawling into my mothers arms and stick my nose in her neck. And then I feel like everything is going to be okay. I use it when I need to calm down, to remember that everything is fine or when I feel that I have to support someone. Because I think it has the same effect on people around me. It truly is beautiful.

Hm. I am disappointed. But I am also shocked by number of dislikes. I have been sneaking around this one for awhile now and today, I've finally tested it on my skin. I love this scent, not sure why. I am obsessed with softeners, but this is definitely not smelling like softener. Yes, I get a feeling of something clean, fresh and safe, but it doesn't smell like Snuggles. And I think this is the art of good perfumes-it reminds you of something, but it actually doesn't smell exactly like it. I don't know why people hate it so much, I don't find it boring, but maybe it is behaving really good on my skin. It opens a bit sharp, then it settles down to something interesting, flowery creamy weird thing I haven't smelled before. And the final dry down is powdery creaminess, but still very fresh. So, in a way, I love it. It is just that it does something strange on me, the sillage is really weird. Way too sharp if you smell directly your wrist, but otherwise totally gone. There were few moments when I sensed it if I moved around and it was really beautiful. Otherwise, I had to smell my wrist and it was too much. Plus, it has two sides; on one hand, it is warm and totally merges with my skin, so I find it very safe, alive and like it's mine. But on the other hand, it is sharp and distant and totally foreign. Like it's two-faced perfume. Like a Gemini!

کوتون ماسک از رامون مونگال کوتون ماسک با اینکه زنانه معرفی شده بنظرم آقایون هم می‌تونند فول ور کنند بشرطی که به فضای موسکی و پودری فلورال علاقه مند باشند کوتون ماسک با شروعی تلخ و نسبتا گزنده شروع میشه که منشا فلورال داره . دقیقا مثل بوی تلخ و معطر گل خرزهره ولی کد ها رو نباید اشتباه گرفت . این حجم از تلخی از گاردنیا میاد که سمبل ایندولیکه اینجا حس ایندولیک گاردنیا بشدت تلخه . جالب اینجاست که شدتش هم زیاده و کنترل نشده . اما موسک سفید چند دقیقه بعد حس سرکش گاردنیا رو به همراهیه رز به عهده میگیره که بیش از پیش این عطر رو شبیه به نارسیسو صورتی می‌کنه . همون‌طور موسکی و پودری ولی اینجا گاردنیا نقش پررنگی داره و انگار بوی نارسیسو رو ظریفتر کرده باشند و حس تلخی و گزندگی و عطر گاردنیا فضای عطر رو خیلی سکسی و اغوا کننده می‌کنه ( اینجای کار حرفمو پس میگیرم آقایون بهتره مصرف نکنند 😂). قلب عطر همینطور فلورال موسکی با همراهییه رز و گاردنیا با قدرت نسبیه زیادی سپری میشه تا درای داون عطر که انگار بوی گلها با هم ادغام بیشتری میگیره و حس بالمی و کرمی به عطر میده من ی کوچولو از این عطر الدیید هم میگیرم

I bought this fragrance when I visited to San Sebastian as I wanted to bring something "Spanish" for a nice souvenir. (* ́ᄌ`*)♡ With a fantastic owner who is experienced as "le sommelier des parfums" from a niche based parfumerie in San Sebastian, after I carefully examined it on my skin, I decided to take this one home. I'm really enjoying it at home. ♡✧。(◍>◡<◍⋈)。✧♡ Like other reviews in below, this fragrance is...I would say more Vanilla than musk. Perhaps more suitable for young female as it gives a very sweet atmosphere.꒰* ॢꈍ◡ꈍ ॢ꒱.* ̊ Indeed, it gives me a feeling of "spring", just like a nature began to brings colours under the warm sun after the cold and grey sky winter. However, I wouldn't recommend to wear it when the temperature reached 27°C and above, or humid period or places. The price is ok I suppose.

Cotton Musk surprised me! I was expecting a creamy clean scent, perhaps one similar to Byredo Blanche or Yosh Sottile, but what I experienced with Cotton Musk was a mild, soft, infinitely soothing, low sugar version of Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum Poudree. A creamy confection except not so tooth-achingly sweet. As with all Ramon Monegal creations, the longevity is out of this world, the silage however is not loud. I believe this was meant as a skin scent... a divinely soft, highest quality cashmere sweater that is not there to make the wearer light up the room, but to make him or her feel caressed, and cared for. :)

It stays quite linear on my skin for about 6-7 hours. I detected something fresh/powdery and slightly floral on my skin. Sillage was under average- which is my preference. Musk isn't strong, at least not on me. I will admit, it is a bit pricey! I think it is in the same scent group as Diptyque- Fleur de Peau. For me this is a daily scent, it is workplace-appropriate. I also own Kiss My Name from the same perfume house and for me that one is for special occasions! I also use it when I need a small emotional boost!

Oh man, this is so good. It is powdery, soft, fresh, and goes so well on my skin. The only thing I'm not liking is the staying power. It's funny because Ole lasted and lasted and lasted even when scrubbing it off, washing hands, washing dishes and taking a shower. That thing still lasted even though I didn't like it as much as this one. With every minute this perfume fades away from my skin, but still, I love it. If it wasn't for the price, I would buy it.

Beautiful musky, white floral (gardenia). Clean, fluffy, powdery in a lovely vintage way. Interestingly, it smells even better from a distance, an enchanting sillage. The vanilla peeks in, only just. But it’s that luscious Madagascar vanilla that’s worth sniffing for.

Cotton Musk is a pleasant, clean, slightly musky, fairly sweet and creamy skin scent. With cotton in the name, I expected it to be a bit crisper, less sweet and more soapy or detergent like. But it is actually rather soft and floral with a moderate dose of vanilla. The combination is very nice and if it were about $100 cheaper think it would have more positive reviews. It is a pleasant scent but is very light and a bit too casual and ordinary for the price. The bottle is beautiful but even with the bottle it is hard to justify the $185 price tag. It is a very nice fragrance and I like it but I expect a little more "something" in this price range.

Cotton Musk is, to me, more about florals than musk. Starts out as a florist shop with creamy sweet flowers and their tender green stalks. Reminds me of some cosmetics, don't remember exactly what. Drying down the flowers remain, vanilla joins in. The musk is present but keeps in balance. It is not an agressive laundry white musk by any means. There is nothing revolutionary about this fragrance, it's just very, very pretty. Almost too vanillic sweet for me - but still going on my full bottle list. Lasts forever, sillage is discreet. Office friendly. Pricing is over the top!

The opening of this scent is one of the most amazing that I've experienced. It took my breathe away! I was instantly in love, until the dry down, which was some kind of ozonic or even aquatic. I have no idea where I got this from, since none of the notes mentioned indicates anything similar to that. The sillage is medium to light, but the longevity is pretty good: as of now 7 hrs. The scent is very clean and it had turned the heavily powdery opening (which was gorgeous!) into the fresh out of the shower scent.

I got a sample of Cotton Musk when I bought another perfume. On my skin it is a big musk bomb (a nice musk bomb) surrounded by white florals. I don't smell vanilla or the rest of the notes. It stays pretty linear on my skin, with moderate sillage. Longevity though is amazing, this lasts more than 12 h. The drydown reminds me of the musk in Beaver (2016) from Zoologist.

So, it was suggested that Monegal "Cotton Musk" might be a suitable replacement for my much beloved but discontinued Narciso by Narciso "White Cube." The perfumes do share a few similar notes. But that's about it. IMO, the fragrances do not smell similar in any way, shape, or form. Maybe my expectations were simply too high. But I'm not fond of Cotton Musk at all. I won't return the perfume 'cause I got a pretty good deal on a new bottle from an online retailer. This one will likely end up on eBay. Ot in the garbage... Cotton Musk is a musk-forward fragrance with a screechy, green, vegetal, watery, floral note-gardenia?? I get zero additional notes...no incense, no vetiver, no rose...nothing. Harsh musk and saturated vegetation. I asked my husband for his opinion, which is something I always do when testing, or first experiencing fragrances. When I asked husband about his thoughts, husband replied, "Smells bizarre." Yup, it does.

Bought this in Milan when my wife also smelled it at the shop and liked it. Now we've been wearing it couple of times but I didn't liked it as it is heavily on gardenia. There's no clean feel with it nor freshness. And I agree that the intensity of the vanilla should be higher as I can not notice it. I tried it in all seasons except Summer and I believe this is a fragrence for Spring. One spray is all I need untill dinner. Sillage is OK and longevity is good. (Around 8, max 10 hours) Not worth its high price.

It is really weird, especially after reading all the reviews which mostly say it is "soft" - on me, it smells aggressive, really aggressive. Gardenia here is overpowerd by rose and musk, it is barely there - I know as I grow gardenias for their gentle scent. If it "is" gardenia, it is a metallic one with a heavy shadow of rose. Very synthetic and very much like Snuggle laundry softening sheets.

Started off quite pleasantly as a 'clean' musk with subtle florals; something you put on and it wears easily for a day without it distracting you with demands for attention. Very surprised when the musk took a turn as a sharp, screechy, headache-inducing note. A big scrubber. For those on whom this works well, undoubtedly you smell delightful but it just didn't on me.

The most difficult thing for a perfumer is to replicate the feeling of "clean." If he succeeded by Serge Lutens with L'Eau de Serge Lutens, Ramon Monegal failed with Cotton Musk. Soft musk mixed with vetiver is nice at the beginning and nauseating after a while. I would have added a greater intensity of vanilla. I do not like it.

A very likable scent but unlikeable price tag. This seems like Monegal's motto. As mentioned already the musk is light and it's more of a clean and natural scent. A bit boring to tell the truth as none of the notes in the pyramid really stand out. Performance is average on my skin.

I smell something like bad breath, perhaps animalic musk, pretty much straight from the beginning. Unfortunate.

This fragrance is a soft musky skin scent with very little sillage and moderate lasting power, I had to put a lot on to even smell it. It opens with a clean laundry musk, and some sort of ozonic note, once it dries down the incense and salty vetiver are very noticable and the vanilla gives it a gourmand feel, in fact the combination of notes smells a bit like almonds initially. The vetiver in this is so salty that you can almost taste it (sort of like the caviar note in womanity although this is the only similarity between these two vastly different scents). Overall its pleasant, clean and inoffensive for the price this scent is kind of meh.
