Abyan

So I bought this fragrance as I’ve been searching for Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme 2008 (GPH), it is completely out of stock in Australia and I cannot get it anywhere without paying an unjustifiable price. Firstly I will start of by saying GPH is a very nostalgic smell for me and very sentimental. I sprayed Abyan on arrival on a tester strip, I closed my eyes and had a smell. My brain was flooded with memories from 15 years ago!! Memories I had completely forgot because this smelts near identical to GPH! I don’t know how this is possible as the notes are completely different.. but this smells like GPH. For me because of the nostalgia this is a 10/10 fragrance. Performance is about that same as GPH.. not the best. Maybe a 3/10. Hopefully it will get better over time like most Arabic frags It’s not a loud frag. It’s not a show stopper. But it is a gentleman’s smell. If you are looking for GPH this is it. Thank you fragrantica for putting me on to this because I thought I’d never get GPH ever again.

Abyan is an elegant, soft, woody-spicy fragrance with decent longevity and sillage. Nothing too remarkable nor overwhelming - just pleasant and likeable scent reminding Gucci by Gucci PH. smells rich for its price. imagine a middle eastern sheikh with his thobe getting down from his rolls royce cullinan. you'd imagine him wearing sumn like this. my batch is quite old, atleast 2++ years. lasts only 3-4 hours on my arm ;( price value - 10/10 uniqueness - 7/10 projection - 2/10 (unless u come within 1-2 ft, you cant smell) overall - 6/10 due to weakness but beautiful luxurious scent if u dont mind the weak projectiom

Oh, this is gorgeous. Such a nice, soft opening that turns spicy, almost smokey/incense-y. It feels incredibly elegant & definitely fitting of a dress up/suit & tie deal. I can't speak on the Longevity & Sillage as I just applied it, but I feel it's got good Projection. And at $25CAD, it feels like a big steal.

I agree with sly_92. Soft, calming and elegant. Very well blended scent, absolutely safe for the European and/or western nose. Longevity is not a problem for me. On clothes last a whole day, and on my skin 2-3 hours. I love it :)

Rasasi - Abyan for men - a truly disappointment!!! I truly wonder if this truly is a Eau de Parfum, and here is why. 1 - negative ) when you get the box, it radiates luxury, the bottle also... that is until you actually hold the bottle and try to open it. The square lid seems to be adored with jewels... but is turns out to be cheap plastic and I broke the lid twice before actually opening the bottle. The grip, the lid has on the bottle, is more powerful than the cheap glue holding the cheap fake jewels to the lid. 2 - positive) after the first spritz, your nose is flooded with a familiar scent... and ten you realize, it is 'Gucci by Gucci pour Homme'. It's the same strong and wonderful violet bursting into your nose and brain. Just wonderful. 3 - negative) I sprayed it onto my skin and onto my shirt. It doens't last more than 2 minutes. After more than 10 minutes, you can't feel anything anymore. Like you never used anything at all. I thought it was that powerful, that my nose couldn't precess it anymore and the brain shut down. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I desperately tried to smell something on my skin and/or my shirt - withour any result. After coming home from work, I thought I sprayed way too little - but how could that be ? (It's a EAP fro crying out loud!!!!!) so I sprayed some more. The same happended... after several minutes it all went away. There is no hint of rose or of leather, of citrus fruits or of cardamon... it's simply disappointing. I hope I'm the only one this happened to and others experience it diffently... I hope Overall: Longetivity: less than 5 minutes. Sillage: noone else can smell it but you points: 5/100 (because it reminded myself of one of my most beloved fragrances: Gucci by Gucci).

This one reminds me of some other fragrance (s). But what...?? lol. Firstly, I do like this scent. Nothing "remarkable" but, it smells good. Perfomance is average on my skin, so far. I get the cardamom/orange vibes....dry rose...aromatic.. a kind of sweetness too.....(the apple). I am not getting grapefruit (?)....and.. the leather....IMO...is more like a suede-ish type...and light. Dry down seems powdery cardamom/woodsy. BTW...the cap....is one of those that you must "line up" the dots for it to fit back on....a pain...!!...LOL

I compared this with Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme side by side. It's similar, but with a more pungent herbal/medicinal opening. The cardamom/cinnamon notes are more apparent. Medicinal smell lingers with dry down.

This is a very good smell for a very cheap price! It is still prestigious and the quality is very very good.

Was hoping for something in the realm of Gucci by Gucci from Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme from Gucci by Gucci and Gucci or Pure Shot/Energy by Mugler. Member..........when dudes smelled like dudes and not cotton candy, member...?!?!?!? Y'all don't member..... This will scratch that itch, and in the air smells great. With it being some sort of clone or just cheapy in general, I'll give it some time to chillaxilate, and hopefully, the cheapie smell (whatever is in Nautica Voyage that gives me a headache as well) chillaxilates. Smelled better upon first spray than the mid or drydown, which is weird, though this was upon unboxing. Whoever upvoted this for Pure Shot/Energy by Mugler deserves corporal punishment. It's legit closer to Nautica Voyage than Pure anything. Asshats.

Looks like some mixed reviews here. I wasn’t a huge fan of this so I resonate with some of the things people say who didn’t like this either. I’m not crazy about grapefruit, and Abyan seems a little too heavy with this note, so part of my dislike could come from that. However, there is also a definite weird note that some have mentioned. Honesty, it reminds me of sweat and kerosene. It’s also a bit spicy up front with the cinammon, which just mixes uncomfortably with what seems like kerosene and grapefruit. It’s just not that pleasant, but that does eventually die down. And then it turns into a decent apple, rose and wood scent, but there’s not much that stands out, really. It is inexpensive and you can buy some small decanted samples if you’d like to try - which I would recommend. But, I don’t think I’d buy a bottle of this.

I have a sample from this fragrance. I can smell fresh and soft apple manly, BUT in the background I feel something weird like stall or oud smell that is unpleasant to my nose. I don't see oud in the notes, but I can smell definitely something similar to or the grapefruit with leather smells like oud. After an hour the weird note vanishes fortunately. I don't smell rose. Not so harsh scent, not a big hit, cheap enough, light and soft, good to wear in spring. Sillage is soft to moderate and lasting is also moderate on my skin.

I think if you get this fragrances on ebay,most of them comes from India and i believe that is all of them fake,when you read the comments people talk about longevity and projection are amazing but when you got the bottle from ebay is different story...I would like to know is there any website that selling this original fragrances...

@ledlight I do notice the insecurities of purchasing fragrances on eBay especially bottles from India and I'm glad I saw your comment and I've always had a feeling that fragrances coming from India could most likely be fake but I did find this bottle on Amazon but not too sure where it's coming from

it has never happened to me to empty a bottle of perfume in the sink after tried. But with this edp it happened.
