Hawas Viper

Viper is probably the most misleading position in the entire Hawas family, because there's no mass-appealing freshness here, no club-friendly ease, and no compliment-getting aura. The first thing that jumps out is thyme: dry, herbal, a little pharmaceutical. It's pushed into a smoky, burnt-wood, church-incense mixture with heavy Asian spices. In the drydown, there's this oil-soaked tobacco, like from a packet of rolling tobacco. Not cigarette smoke — I hate cigarettes. When I focus on it, I can also smell a bit of coffee, like in Asad. People don't write about this much, but to me it's very nutty, a little like roasted nuts. I'd put 'nutty' almost at the very top of the pyramid. Despite all this dirty, aggressive, burnt surrounding character, Viper has a balsamic softness and resinous sweetness that round the composition out a little. The problem is that this softness sits underneath an extremely unapproachable profile. I can imagine what people mean when they write that it smells like saliva. As a medical cannabis user, I can say there's absolutely none of that here, although it is quite green. There is no hashish either. I even smelled my vaporized AVB, and that's not it either. You have my guarantee that everyone writing that Viper is very similar to Black Afgano has only smelled both through their phone screen on TikTok. Typical Fragrantica bullshit, just to write some pseudo-review. What it IS very similar to, however, is Maahir Black — not so similar that you should not own both, and I will even say that I recommend owning both if you liked either one of them. Performance is nuclear. Projection is intense, and longevity on fabric is at least a week. It leaves a cloud behind you. I gave my friend a bag with decants and samples, and I also gave him sprayed blotters. Everything got taken over by Viper and nothing else could be smelled. Even the plastic bag was taken over by just one spray of Viper. Viper is genuinely hostile in the best possible way. It's dirty, green, smoky, nutty, resinous, and nuclear. If regular Hawas is the guy at the club, Viper is his weird creepy cousin burning gas station RC 'weed' in his garage. I love GameSpitta's review, but this ain't it — he reviewed it so harshly. It's the funniest post on Fragrantica though, I love it. A ACTUALLY GOOD REVIEW I smelled the originals and can tell you its smells like both terroni and black afgano both a bit lighter and a tiny bit more synthetic The start is definitely terroni with more sweet raspberry then after id say 5-10 minutes it turns into both black afgano and terroni like literally if you sprayed both of them 1-2 hours its just the dry down of lighter black afgano 8-9/10 if you love both of them for anyone else not blind buy safe very niche everyone here who just buys for the hype then gets confused why it smells different ive actually tried what its cloning and rasasi did a pretty good job if you want to wear them both everyday and not spend thousands it’s definitely good bang for your buck also can be a entry for niche fragrances It may be my signature smell tbh

My mom hated it = It's a good, high-quality niche perfume! Definitely not a mass-appealing perfume, but if this appeals to your nose, there is no going back! The combination of tobacco, cannabis, and chestnut is out of this world. I once layered it with Hawas Elixir; it projected like a beast! The longevity of this perfume on clothes is eternal if you spray it 10-15 times. It stays on the clothes for days. But projection is not beast-mode; it projects well for the first 3-4 hours. You may not get compliments but people will notice you for sure!

I think this gets way too much undeserved hate. I have a feeling it's because the Hawas line is known to dupe popular mass-appealers, and this release was kinda out of left field as it dupes something that's quite niche. I smelled Nasomatto Black Afgano in a niche shop one time and from my memory this gets super close to that. It's this dark, oriental, with fruity undertones kind of scent that I would imagine only a certain person could pull off, and I just so happen to like this kind of scent.

So this is different in such a way I love it. I wore it to bed and my wife couldn't stop sniffing me. It smells like green but also woody and is also fun smell. I am actually buying another bottle. I was scared to get this one based on ratings glad I did.

Love it so much It's beast mode, no more than 3 sprays needed. Getting 10+ hours with 2 hours of beast mode projection. Somehow has some green elements in it. Can be worn in summer fall and winter. Avoid summer days. 9/10

I absolutely love this fragrance. However, it's not blind buy safe. It's very middle eastern in nature. I understand the negative reviews here but to me it's the best hawas.

After a full wear, Hawas Viper feels like a true winter fragrance. It opens with a dark woody, smoky, tobacco character, almost like dry oud wood burning. In the dry down, it becomes much smoother, revealing a subtle saffron touch with a woody, smoky, slightly sweet character that I enjoyed even more. This is not a safe blind buy—it's for people who appreciate dark, mature woody fragrances. Performance was good on my skin, and I'd rate it 7.5/10 overall.

Man, the opening is ROUGH. So smoky and pungent. But it dissipates in 5 minutes or so, and what you’re left with is really comforting smoky tobacco and wood. I don’t pick out most of the notes listed here. It’s just smoldering and brown, in a good way. Like a lighter and more mass-appealing Reliqvia. I’m afraid I don’t know Terroni or Black Afgano, so I can’t compare them.

I agree, this is a clone (or inspired by, rather) of OP Terroni, but a bit less smoky-volcanic and with less paprika. It is quite far off from Black Afgano, maybe 30% similar. I'm not getting any cannabis, at least not the herbal, green type you would expect. Very strong performance. Respect to Rasasi for releasing something outside the norm.

Definitely a Love or Hate kind of fragrance . Insane projection and longevity. To me it's smells similar to a middle eastern mosque and I love it . Goes surprisingly well with middle eastern/indian outfits . Smell wise the tobacco notes are very light and feel like the animalic and leather notes are way stronger .

I personally think this is much more closer to Terroni than Black Afgano, I get a BA vibe as well since Orto Parisi and Nasomatto shares a lot of structure between their fragrances. Not a safe buy for sure. But if you like unusual perfume in general, this is a nice cheap buy with a niche smell.

It has a Harsh beginning, but once the middle notes start to come in it’s nice, it’s not going to be overpowering either. Some maceration is probably needed for a few weeks. It’s an average smell and not going to be crowd pleasing it’s sophisticated!

Wore this a few times off my son's bottle. Strong and long lasting - this thing has real legs. Everyone online compares it to Black Afgano but I don't get that at all - I'm not picking up that dark tobacco/hash vibe people talk about. What I actually get is more churchy and resinous, almost incense-like, than fruity-dark. Good performer, but the Black Afgano comparisons set the wrong expectations for me. Try before you buy on this one - your nose might read it completely differently than mine did.

smells like a rich arabian guy wearing expensive smoky leafy perfume oil while walking through a bush in a forest eating a smoked brisket... not for me. smells better after maceration and its very diffrent but not in a way where many people would like.

#1701 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Blind bought this. Not thrilled I did that. First Hawas I haven’t liked out of seven so far. Mostly I get tobacco, coffee and thyme from this. I’m not wowed. Doesn’t smell like any of the scents people voted above. (Lataffa "Maahir Black" would be the closest. I have it in a storage case but have only worn it the day I got it). While this is not repellent it’s not very appealing. Kinda smells like used coffee grounds you've mixed into the soil of a potted house plant. Only the musk gives it anything worth smelling. I’ll give this to a barista at the coffee shop that I suspect may like this more than I do. I wouldn’t recommend you bother with this one. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Hopefully it matures and changes but so far I hate it. My bottle just smells mesquite liquid smoke you would use to flavor meat with. Not getting cannabis (which I was hoping for, and am also fully aware of the huge variety of ways it can smell) or anything else, just pungent sour mesquite smoke concentrate dripping from a cold dirty smoker or barbecue grill. To make things even more fun it's a bitch to get off your skin and lasts for ages. yay.

Viper opens very heavy. I definitely get the cannabis note, saffron and davana, it's also a touch smokey. As it settles the tobacco and coffee are very prominent and later you will pick up the musk and violet. Overall this ends up a woody/tobacco/burnt coffee scent. This is not blind buy safe and I do not recommend this. I have almost every hawas bottle and this one along with Atlantis, I do not enjoy.

Exceptional Perfume! 😷 I've smelled 300+ perfumes so far & this is the most disgusting by far - which is quite an achievement! 🤢🤢🤮🤮 I can't imagine why anyone would want to smell like Burnt tires, Weed (Cannabis) & Ash particles. You know... I really underestimated Rasasi. They make some REALLY good fragrances for cheap. Yeah, I can still pick up hints of cheaper ingredients here and there — but honestly? It’s not easy. This thing smells really nice. First thing that came to my mind was Terroni from Orto Parisi man. Mahhir black in another good choice. It smells just alike but I do pick up some other ingredients . The opening probably last longer in the Lattafa. But not over anll ofcourse. But Terroni is immediately where my brain went. I know a lot of people compare it to Black Afgano, and I can understand why, but that honestly wasn’t my first thought. I may need to revisit Black Afgano because this smells more Torino-style to me. And I really enjoy it. I’m probably gonna have to start buying more of these Hawas flankers now. Most of them LOOK like they’re gonna be another Aventus/Invictus sweet fruity thing — and honestly, some of them are. Malibu and the first couple definitely leaned that direction to me. But this one? Nah. This one stands out. Smoky, earthy, darker... something different. If I was building a Hawas collection, I’d probably pick: - this one - and the soapy one Because there’s just not a lot of that going around anymore. Most people already have: - blue shower gel fresh - sweet fruit bombs - loud club scents But a good soapy scent and something smoky/earthy like this? That’s toolbox category stuff. Stuff most people DON’T already have. And honestly, for the money... this one just feels good to own without spending a fortune.

I blind bought it as I was looking for the dupe of Black Afgano which I loved, for a long time. As soon as first sniff, this immediately my top tier fragrance. It's exactly the same as BA for me, and better performance than BA. Thanks to Rasasi, at least fulfill my long looking for the exact clone of BA. I loved the weed, earthy, smokey smell of black afgano. Viper is more distinct smokey and weedier than BA. I will definitely buy a back up bottle immediately. Performance is insane and nearly beast mode in the opening without manceration. Sillage is above average. I found two exact clone of my most loved top tier fragrance from Rasasi hawas flanker, Hawas black for Hacivat and Hawas Viper for Black Afgano. Thanks and appreciates Rasasi again. Don't miss this one for those who loves BA. Cannabis notes and smokyness in Viper is way better than BA. You will get the cannabis notes in BA only at the opening but in Viper it linger longer than B.A does and smokier than BA. Update After wearing a few weeks then I realized that Viper is more similar clone to Terroni than Black Afgano both I love. The performance is still Nuclear. Gentle on the sprays away from your nose.

I haven’t tried this, but I do own Black Afgano. If this is actually close that fragrance, I’m intrigued. I’m mainly writing this to encourage you not to just dismiss this DNA because someone says it smells like armpit lol. It certainly won’t be for everyone, but definitely give it a chance. I was apprehensive, because I’d heard BA was very polarizing, but it turns out I love it! And as odd as this may sound, Black Afgano has my most complimented fragrance since adding a bottle to my collection. Don’t worry about the cannabis note, this won’t smell like you just hot boxed in the parking lot. Dark, smokey woods, with a slight green nuance. There is a very subtle sweetness in the background, but it’s by no means a major factor in the overall smell. Absolutely sample first, but if you enjoy fragrances like the Interlude Man line, Epic Man, Encre Noire A L’Extreme or Ombre Nomade, you might enjoy this DNA as well!

So I decided to be adventurous and blind buy this 😬 this is not the usually type of fragrance I would go for but I was very intrigued. I have never smelled Black Afgano as others mentioned it may be a clone of. It is a very dark fragrance. Upon first spray I get very Smokey kinda resinous burning wood. I get no spices or any of the sweet notes, definitely don’t smell cannabis. Just very Smokey wood. After the dry down about 20-30 minutes it settles and some of the sweetness comes (which it needs) but not much. I definitely smell potential and feel it needs to sit a bit. I don’t hate it but I don’t find it wearable just yet. I need to see if the tobacco, tonka, saffron and raspberry come forward. If not it will need to be layered with something

I really didn't want to write another negative review but the Rasasi Family really did us dirty. I just spent 60$ to smell like an old mans armpit. I respect the attempt at delivering to the simpleton peons a taste of that high grade niche poo poo juice that will so many sophisticated (and attractive) reviewers like myself love to glaze, but this one fell short. Ive smoked a lot of triple AAA indoor gas pack in my life, this smells like some outdoor nuggies your broke uncle accidentally dropped inside his couch cushion 6 years ago. That very same couch was regularly farted on hundreds of times by Indian men. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS SMELLS LIKE AND YOU CANT TELL ME IM WRONG!!!!

Well guys, I have to admit. This smells of weed, MUCH MORE than I had or would. EVER imagine! Burnt weed, its amazing! If you love or like Black Afgano (like I do), its a good chance you will like it. But I don't think it's blind buy worthy, now I must inform you good people. This is only with 8 days of maturation, when I opened it. I couldn't smell the cannabis, I'm eager to see how this will turn out. I got mine 8 days ago for $40, what a deal! 🥰🥰

Take the currently low ratings with a massive grain of salt. Black Afgano, which this seems to be a dupe of, is a super powerful and super polarizing scent that has exactly 0 in common with anything else in the Hawas line. Most of the people giving it 1 star were likely blind buyers who happened to be fans of super-mass-appealing Ice or the OG and simply couldn't handle the aggressive hashish of BA.

For me, the clearest description for Hawas Viper would be a combination of two other fragrances, Asdaaf Majd al Sultan or Lattafa Ameer al Oudh Intense Oud and Ard al Zaafaran Midnight Oud. Very good performance. An interesting perfume, special, but dedicated only to those who love this DNA. Good news, imho, I think it can also be worn in hot weather. At a price of 20-25 E/100ml, it is a good deal.

So I think this one is amazing for MY taste. I love oud and dark resins with fruit and this is that. The cannabis note is being blown out of proportion. Yes it’s there and if you think that would bother you, it probably will. It doesn’t bother me and I think this is beautifully manly and I’m very impressed with Rasasi! 8/10 for me!

this just smells like By the Fireplace but without all the sweet notes. it genuinely smells like a campfire. like burning cedar wood and nothing else. i smell no cannabis. i smell BARELY any tobacco in the opening. i smell nothing else other than wood. i was super excited for this release but this is a huge let down from rasasi.

Bought this because everyone said it was a clone of Black Afgano. Everyone saying that must have just been looking at the notes because this smells nothing like Black Afgano. The opening is a little weird and I think the thyme note is a little too prominent but the drydown makes it one the top 5 in my collection.

This is weed bottled. The cannabis is so strong I have a feeling if you get stopped by cops they are going to start searching your car and ask why the smell is so strong. The drydown is a bit of a mess. Its a love or hate scent. Try it first.

Got a little tester of Viper with my bottle of Imperial Valley and the drydown is pretty decent, but no chance I will purchase a full bottle of this. Hawas Fire still the best in the line by some distance!

I want to like viper but it’s just missing the mark. Cannabis needs to be toned down half 50 % and a minimal sweet like dates but no more than say 35 % would be fire.
