Qasamat Mohraf Oud Moattar

This review is for the Rasasi Morhaf EDP (which is not listed by Fragrantica) but included it here under Morhaf Oud moattar. This is one extremely well blended and natural rose fragrance. Nothing synthetic, very creamy and pleasant. Aside from the initial citrus/raspberry note that last at most couple of minutes, this quickly turns into a beautiful rose fragrance (as middle note), supported by soft wood, vanilla, amber and patchouli. The wood here is very soft and plays a supporting role (not punchy skanky middle eastern oud type which I also have). This will be very pleasant for those looking for a much softer Wood experience but first and foremost , this is a beautiful jammy rose fragrance through and through. The jammy rose in middle note overpowers all other floral notes which are hard to detect, but the rose is sublime, turning into a creamy amber vanilla Rose in dry down. As to comparisons, I have many rose oud (incl Armani Privé Rose d’Arabie and TF NdN and my wife has the Armani Privé Rosie d’Arabie L’or du Desert (the gold shimmer one). Rose d’arabie L’or du desert is a slightly softer version of Rose d’arabie in that it tones down the Oud, a bit, making airier. I sprayed L’or du Desert on one hand, Rose d’Arabie on the back and Rasasi Morhaf on the other hand. Aside from initial 2 min citrus raspberry burst, Morhaf and L’or du Desert are identical, dare I say identical clone. This is not a cheap imitation, it is a super high quality natural fragrance and at those prices, quite a steal. Very impressed with Rasasi

WOW this is at least 95% similar (if not identical to some) to Rose d'Arabie!! Well worth the money, and imo better suited presentation than Sehr Al Sheila (I don't understand the black & turquoise motif for this scent), not to mention it's $20 cheaper. Main differences: This one has slightly sharper/louder opening that quickly dissipates; somewhere in the late-middle the oud intensifies and becomes protruding, which takes itself out of the Rose d'Arabie realm for a little before settling back into the long vanilla drydown.

Review for EDP version: Exquisite blend for the price, raspberry, jasmine, lemon envelope the dark rose very well in the opening, this dries down to an elegant airy bright rose scent which contrasts the opening, the Oud is very minimalistic here however its presence is still felt, it may come off slightly harsh to some. This one has really great longevity and projection. Fans of Rose scents will definitely appreciate Rasasi's efforts here, truly a fine middle-eastern blend with no compromise on quality. Overall 9/10

To my nose this is almost identical to Swiss Arabian Sehr Al Sheila. I can't tell big difference between these two.. (If I really pinch; here is some lemon and this drying is more synthetic dry woody oud, while Sheila’s drying is more natural, even a little metallic to my nose and Sheila has more patchouli too). I am so happy about this scent, the price of Sehr Sheila has doubled and the bottom of my bottle is already looming. I adore these scents; simple, perfect woody rose.

Qasamat Morhaf expresses itself as a stunning rose-patchouli from the beginning of the opening to the embers of the drydown. In the opening, Turkish rose and earthy patchouli are accompanied by agarwood and guaic wood. The aoud is light, with a breath of incense. Aoud makes a soft exit after 10-15 minutes and raspberry takes its place. This raspberry is tort and fresh, slightly sharp, but nothing off-putting, I promise. Raspberry mellows but remains as the fragrance dries down, but patchouli and rose persist as king and queen in this fragrance. What can I attempt to compare this to? In the past I owned Aigner's Debut by Night, an alluring, even seductive, rose-patchouli-raspberry combination. When I sprayed Morhaf, I was taken back to sweet memories of Debut by Night before the patchouli began to overpower both rose and raspberry. Something else I could compare this to, is Al Haramain's Portfolio Floral Sculpture, a rose-patchouli-amber combination that takes a different spin on what it is to be rose-patchouli dominant. Owning Morhaf has eliminated my need to purchase a full bottle of Floral Sculpture. I sprayed this on my neck in the afternoon before driving to the garden centre. As I walked among plants and foliage, Morhaf teased my nostrils with oh so gorgeous whispers of allure and mystery. In truth, Morhaf will remind you of any fragrance that is rose-patchouli dominant, and in this fragrance space where owning multiple bottles of perfume is the norm, you may find Morhaf to be an unnecessary addition to your collection. For me, it is unique, and because of it, I will refrain from any rose-patchoulis until this is finished. My only vexation is that the bottle, like 80% of Rasasi fragrances I have owned in the past, came 90% full. Is there difficulty at Rasasi's production plant to give customers all the fragrance they pay for? And that's all I have to add to this evidence base.

This was a blind buy and I think one of my more successful ones! It’s beautifully well-blended and the main notes that I pick up are the raspberry, lemon, rose and oud. Maybe a touch of patchouli. I think the lemon/raspberry opening does a great job of freshening up the classic (some might say overdone) rose/oud situation. I’ve smelled several rose/ouds but I honestly haven’t found anything quite like this before. The oud is present but not overpowering which I love, and the longevity and power of this stuff is incredible. It completely fills a room with just a couple of sprays. Definitely a lot of bang for your buck. This would be beautiful on a crisp winter/fall day when the sun is shining.

There's that one note that makes me not want to spray this on me ... i can't put my finger on which note it is ... yet so similar to Rose d'Arabie :) Edit, 16.10.2024 I'm starting to love it a lot, I've made a mistake by wearing it on hot days, needs a cold weather for sure!

If you're wondering about this scent, look at the bottom row and imagine THAT scent because it's pretty much that with a green, masculine rose. I didn't really care for this scent. The oud is a little funky and the rose is very green with the geranium added. As you can tell by the notes, I feel like this scent is just going into too many directions. It's got heaviness to it, sweetness, green qualities, then a little lightness with the raspberry and jasmine. Overall though I would say this is dominated by all those base notes so oud, amber, musk, sandalwood, patchouli, and guaiac wood with a green rose and some vanilla. It's complex and middle eastern for sure. Leaning unisex, especially for middle eastern standards. I was envisioning a scent more dominated by the top and heart notes but this fragrance is 100% dominated by those base notes. Probably going to return it since I don't see any point in letting it macerate since those base notes are probably just going to get heavier. Reminds me a bit of Amber 01 from Swiss Arabian as they both have a sharp, masculine amber note.

Review of Rasasi Qasamat Mohraf (EDP) I am underwhelmed. I heard many reviewers say WOW this is the gorgeous rose oud bla bla, this is a subpar arabian smell, very commercial style but with nice classy bottle. It smells like a light version of Montale Black Oud and hints also at Mancera Black Prestigium powderiness. I wayyyyy prefer Tiziana Terenzi Gold Rose Oudh, that one is amazing in this genre. It ok scent and good price but no way as great as it was praised. Performance is ok, not beast. BTW, doesn't hint or smell any close to MFK Oud Satin Mood.

(Reviewing the Qasamat Mohraf EDP) This was my first "blind-buy" and definitely a good one, considering rose is also a challenging note for me-- it always feels very vintage and formal. Still, since I wanted a better version of MFK's Oud line, this really delivers with its sparkling airy rose and subtle agarwood. Mohraf is dark, elegant, timeless, and just sweet enough. The central accord may seem common to fragheads, but I think in everyday life, something like this is guaranteed to stand out. Still not sure I'll keep this, because rose is just that challenging for me, but the performance is excellent, easily a 6-8 hour fragrance that will fill a room with a couple sprays.

This really is not for me. I’ve come to the conclusion that Arabian scents do not gel with my body chemistry. I’ve tried I really have to like them, but they all turn into an awful bitter mess. If anyone wants a full 50ml bottle I have one to swap or buy. Also the same of bareeq which is even worse on my skin. Message me uk only.

Just received this. Blind buy based on the notes and very nice frag. However this does not jive with my chemistry. Please pm me if you’re interested, I’m selling it for an excellent price.

Yet another oud rose combo that I can do without. Nothing special, definitely better ones out there.🥱

First things first, this is a classic amalgamation of elegance and beauty. It pairs rose and oud— and yes, although this genre has been done over and over by many different houses, this one will still leave a mark in your olfactive memory. If you appraise it based on quality and performance alone, Rasasi has delivered an unforgettable experience. One, that you simply cannot miss. Rasasi Qasamat Morhaf is a sultry, floral-woody scent that does not lose power through the life of the fragrance. As soon as I spray it on, I begin to notice the breakdown of ingredients. Warm, slightly jammy, spiced rose. Love love love this one. Got a bottle for around $39 AUD (and a backup of my much adored Ebhar for $44) and am very pleased. I have Resala which I adore and this reminds me of it. It is a little different, slightly lighter and fresher and less oudy. It sits in that same realm though and will be an alternative to Resala when I don’t want to spray one of my expensive frags or when I want a slightly less intense version. I really really enjoy this. I don’t pick up anything weird or artificial, smells natural and quality. Love Rasasi!

I tried for months to research Qasamat Morhaf on different websites before purchasing online. Apparently, I have been bitten by the new craze for arab perfumes and love the few bottles I received from domestic traders. But this one is very strong and not your typical western scent. This smells of heavy wood (oud) and rose. It's like sticking your head in a smokey wooded oak barrel with intermittent whiffs of rose. This is a signature middle east perfume and not for the faint of heart.

do better, Fragrantica - It’s Morhaf, not Mohraf, perfume, not the bakhoor; also, other fragrances from this line are missing, as for some reason there is a very long wait for some scents to be added to the database and arabian fragrances are treated not up to standards despite their popularity

To pass this off as just another rose oud combo ain’t right. This is much deeper than just rose and oud, in fact, I get a striking resemblance to Spirit of Dubai Fakhama when it dry’s down. I’m getting incense although it’s not listed as a note. This is a terrific scent with stellar longevity.

Review for the 65ml EDP: Very well blended. I can smell rose, lily of the valley, raspberry and lemon in that order. Inspired by Rose d'Arabie. A tiny bit sweeter. And better longevity. 10/10
