Cedrus Blanc

I love this perfume. It smells so beautiful, fresh, powdery, woody and slightly floral. Its so smooth from first spray and on skin. I couldn't stop smelling myself. Its not loud but so comforting. After the first application I wondered if it was too soon to buy a back up bottle, which I'll definitely be doing shortly. I have never smelled the inspiration for this as its almost impossible to get and alittle too expensive for my pocketbook, but I do want to get a decant just to compare. If its any thing like Cedrus Blanc I'm sure its beautiful. I sprayed it on just before bed and when I woke up I still had a lingering scent on my skin and clothes. Even though it smells so pretty right away. I think I'll put it aside for a week or two to see if the longevity and sillage improve. I am so pleased with this that I also bought Rayhaan's other new release Nava Sol. Rayhaan has definitely upped their game with all their newer releases.

Okay I'm Finnish and I think this will make sense to all my Finns out there. This smells like the walls of a sauna when it's hot and you have the room properly steamy.... I'm talking water poured over rocks and a real wood fire. Then add natural white light soapy scent that's got a small twist of bergamot/lime to it. Very light white musky bar of soap. Very warm wood in a sauna that's been around for a while and it's been properly steamed. That's what this smells like to me. I'm sure there are non-Finns out there that would get this reference but I guarantee you the Finns will get this reference. I honestly think this smells a smidge like Fire and Ice from Lattafa and I love that scent. I've not smelled the CH this is supposed to dupe but from what I understand not that many have since it tends to be sold out. Personally this has been one of my top purchases this year.

STUNNING!!!! This is the most unique and beautiful scent I have smelled in a long time. It is woody, sparkly, and bright. It is truly unisex and yet I don’t want my partner to get his hands on it- but I am conflicted- I love it so much, maybe I do want him to wear it!! I can’t decide. But I can definitely say this is a fantastic buy. If you have smelled Cedar Chic, you will know how on point this rendition is. If you have not, you need not buy it (which you basically can’t bc it is impossible to find!). I rarely praise smoops, but this is stellar! To be honest- the comments about this leaning masculine, I can maybe see that. But musty, mothball attics, where are people hanging out these days?? If the scent profile remotely interests you, message me and I will send a sample. This is seriously special.

First impression: This fragrance is truly unique compared to anything I’ve tried before. I like it; it has a delicate floral scent with a subtle wood undertone that harmonizes beautifully. It lasts a long time and seems to be a fragrance that won’t bother anyone. I’ll be thoroughly testing it this weekend to see how it holds up. One thing I must mention is that I expected a stronger woody scent, but trust me, it’s well-balanced. The only downside is that it leans slightly towards a feminine side, and I honestly think it’s more suitable for special occasions rather than everyday wear.

Tengo Carolina Herrera Cedar Chic y acabo de comprar esta version y debo decir con toda honestidad que es muy parecido casi 1:1 ambas fragancias. Si tu presupuesto te permite Cedar Chic excelente cómpralo, pero si de lo contrario la quieres y no puedes entonces esta version te dejara casi en el mismo lugar de llegada solo que con uno fuiste en Ferrari y con el otro fuiste en un Bus. El resultado de ambas Fragancias son increibles!

To me, it smells musty and woody rather than fresh and clean. I can detect most of the listed notes, but the cedar and aldehydes are by far the most prominent. I struggled with whether I’d consider this unisex or slightly more masculine. There’s unsurprisingly a lot of cedar in this, which tipped the scale into more masculine. I was hoping for more balance. I’ve never smelled Cedar Chic so I can’t compare. I bought this because of the comparison between CC and Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc Blanc. I have a bottle of PMB but a cheaper alternative in the same lane would be nice. I think PMB is way better, cleaner, more feminine, and soapier. I’m decluttering this. I don’t agree with calling this “clean, fresh laundry”. It’s inoffensive, so I wouldn’t hate it on someone else. Just not for me.

I was hoping to love Cedrus Blanc. Unfortunately, it smells like a cardboard box that has been sitting behind an abandoned warehouse in the rain since 1997. Not a sturdy cardboard box, either. This is the kind that disintegrates the moment you touch it and releases a haunted puff of basement air. The fragrance is aggressively musty, as if damp cedar, wet newspaper, and a forgotten gym towel formed a committee. I do not enjoy wearing it, and I do not want to smell it on anyone...not even someone I dislike. There is absolutely no chance this resembles its supposed inspiration. Either my bottle is defective, or the perfume community has collectively mistaken “elegant” for “evidence recovered after a flood.” I will keep it in my collection and revisit it in a few months to see whether it develops into something tolerable. Until then, it may have a bright future as moth repellent or a highly effective way to end conversations quickly.

I just received Cedrus Blanc yesterday, and of course tastes in fragrances are subjective and personal. With that said, this smells like a musty basement or crawl space filled with waterlogged wood and generic dish soap suds. Not getting the fresh laundry vibe that influencers have mentioned. It’s also very flat as opposed to sparkly, airy, bubbly or effervescent. The dry down is slightly better than the opening. The projection and sillage are low to moderate, which is a blessing in disguise. I could see this getting better with time to mature... let’s hope. I can’t imagine that Cedar Chic smells exactly like this. If it does, it’s one of the most egregious cases of the Emperor’s New Clothes.

Sorry to write this but this gives the feel of a Good Girl Flanker. I’ve not tried Cedar Chic but certainly it’s better than this. I wish I could send this back. Maybe after 2-6 weeks the woods and musks will become smoother and more blended and cedar accord becomes rounder. Just not impressed. Edit to add: Funny, just opened Instagram and an influencer said the dry down is mothballs. She’s not wrong!

Oh man...this is ROUGH! Apparently I am not an aldehyde fan or this juice is just plain bad. To me it is in the Eshal Musk family which smells like dollar store dish soap to me. Now this one on the other hand- what came to mind immediately (and now it won't leave my mind so nothing can save it from the return trip back) is the school custodian industrial cleaner in the big yellow mop juice bucket. Musty and crusty with a puff of citrus cleaner. So disappointed and really expected to love this since Rayhaan usually hits it out of the park but this one was a complete miss for me. It is likely that I am just not a soapy clean girl perfume type. :(

I DON'T LIKE IT. It's too woody and too mature. I saw a review that says it smells like an attic that has been abandoned for decades, and when you decide to open it, the dustiness and scent of mold welcome you; I couldn't agree more. I love the longevity of it; I sprayed it all over my body just to give it a fair chance, but my nose can't really tolerate the smell. I took a bath, and it's still there!! I'm a sucker for clean scent perfumes, but this one ain't it.

I have gotten my nose on every dupe just in case my beloved Cedar Chic disappears. This is not it. There's plenty of other dupe houses with great renditions. This is screechy and missing something

I have tried a few dupes and the original. Of all the dupes cedrus blanc is the only one that develops similarly to the original. The others are more linear and smell the same from opening to drydown. Duas has more citrus and soapyness. Heist has more laundry freshness. Monac attar is more powdery. Cedrus blanc starts off musky and a little sweet, with just a hint of powderness. Then in the middle the citrus and aldehydes come through. The mid notes smell a little like bal D’afrique absolu. Of all the dupes this is the only one that also has the bal D’afrique scent in the middle like the original does. As it dries down the cedar comes through, but it is soft and well blended, doesn’t stand out as a woody fragrance. The aldehydes aren’t harsh, they smell clean but it doesn’t scream laundry detergent. My only gripe with cedrus blanc is that performance isn’t the best. It starts off strong but quickly becomes light to medium projecting. After 2 hours it’s a skinscent. And, after 3-4hrs I can hardly smell it at all. It’s possible it needs more time to mature for the performance to improve.

Boss bottled absolute is exactly the same price on many discount websites! And that's one of the best designer fragrances available. Stop wasting money on dupes and expecting designer and niche quality and performances because paid influencers force you to go buy scented water in some factory using cheap products. We all know the perfume industry already steals your money thanks to 80% of the inflated price being not related to the perfume. Don't add more insult to injury with cheap alternatives. Get a few originals, enjoy them, get more later. Stop buying trash and expecting miracles because some clown female influencer showing her cleavage tells you what you're gonna experience in a subjective art of perfumery. They're all fake, paid, forced to promote trash.

This is like an aldehydic and lighter Voce Viva Intensa from Valentino, which is one of my favorite scents of all time. The notes are matching up with the bergamot and orange, and I’m guessing the soapy aldehydes in this are somewhat linear with Voce Viva Intensa’s florals. Then it’s the cedar versus the moss & vanilla. The two are very very reminiscent of each other for me. Fresh, airy, slightly sweet, slightly grape scented. This is a love for me at first spray!! The cedar is present, but nothing that would prompt cedar to be in the headline in naming of the fragrance... a bit misleading, considering that is what has veered me away from trying the DNA for so long. She’s glorious, and I’m planning on getting/testing Cedar Chic.

This is fantastic, unique smelling, long lasting. It reminds me of the smell of my skin after swimming in a pool and drying off in the summer. Very clean, salty, sweet but not too sweet, with a little chlorine. Sounds weird, but smells uniquely wonderful to me.

I don't know why it leans more masculine on me as it dries down. I loved it when I first applied it, but two minutes later, it smelled scratchy and weird... Edit: I tried it again, and now it smells like a clean, cheap motel to me :(
