Corium

#1417 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I've decided to do a thorough checkout of the entire Rayhaan line. I picked up "Elixir" in July of 24 and loved it. Picked up "Pacific" in May and loved it. "Cordova" two weeks ago and loved it. Picked up four more not yet in the Fragrantica database: "Ellwood". If you already have Lalique "Encre Noir" don't bother. "Fresh Wave", a Creed "Green Irish Tweed" clone that's better than the original. "Imperia Intense", which I found not really a very good "Aventus" clone if that was really what they were going for. And "Imperia Legacy", which is hands down the best YSL "Kouros" dupe ever produced and actually is better quality than the original. So on my desk are six: "Corum", "Dark Leather", "Imperia", "Ocean Rush", "Royal Wood" and "Wood Noir", with more on the way. I'll start with "Corum." "Corum" is clearly a clone of Emporio Armani "Stronger with You Leather" (RIP Georgio who just passed away. Angels sing you to your rest sir.), a scent I already own, so I am able to do a side-by-side. At first blush I would have said 90% close. Five minutes in, as more of the leather comes forward, I would say 95% similar, close enough no one will care. The leather has a slightly different character. Hard to describe. I would say the SWY is a car seat leather, and the Corum is a shoe leather with a slight leather soap quality. If you know the difference you know. I get the same performance from both, but really do prefer the Rayhaan over the SWY. Corum is absolutely better quality and scent than Maison Alhambra's clone "Your Touch Leather", which I also own. Totally safe blind buy you can wear wherever you'd wear the SWY Leather. Well done Rayhaan!

Probably the first time Ive ever much preferred the dupe over the original. Had a bottle of this and loved it. A very sweet scent similar to that of Stronger With You mixed in with a good amount of leather and freshness that makes it really stand out. Here I thought that if I liked this one so much, I had to love the Original SWY Leather, right? So got rid of this and found a bottle of SWY Leather. Which isn't readily available here in the US.. To my surprise, that same sweet leather fresh goodness that Corium had was no longer there. I found SWY Leather much more dull.. the leather wasnt as leathery, the freshness was absent. It was basically SWY Intensely with some weak leather scent mixed in. Very disappointed. Luckily Corium isnt very expensive, and the SWY Leather was easy to resell so I switched back to this. Definitely recommended, especially if you were looking to try SWY Leather. This actually does it better IMO. Who would have thunk? 9.5/10

Just got it a few days ago and used it a couple times so all gonna be based on the first impression. Haven’t smelled SWY leather yet but is very close to the SWY dna with this beautiful modern leather touch that’s present from the very beginning and keeps growing and becoming dominant as the fragrance evolves into it’s final form which i found is a beautiful realistic leather with subtle hints of nutty sweetness underneath. I live in a Caribbean city so the weather is rather hot and humid year round, even so i find it great to use on nights or fresher days with great results on how it smells and performs. Really pleased with this one, i will keep trying it and see how it evolves as i let it mature for a while. For now is a solid 9/10 for me.

Is this a Stronger With You Leather clone...why yes it is. It's 95% the same. Does it differ in any way...I feel like it's slightly more leather, with longevity/projection/quality down a notch, which still makes it powerful. SWY Leather is my favorite fragrance of all time and with Corium being so close, and the much cheaper price tag ($20-25), this will be my go-to in the future. I need to go through my 2 backup bottles of SWY Leather first. Lol. The bottle of Corium isn't bad either. Its wrapped in leather with the smell as well and you can see the liquid from the top and bottom, unlike SWY Leather, which you can't see at all. If you like SWY Leather, there is NO WAY you can go wrong with Corium. 4.5/5 all round

Wrote a harsh review on the 11th of December 2024. Nearly a year later I’ve come back to it. I will admit I returned my original bottle for a full refund but something stuck with me. I could feel this fragrance on the tip of my nose. Its warm sweet chestnut with a mild likeable leather bottom was addicting and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I do think this fragrance is pretty linear, there is not much going on but it doesn’t need it. It’s absolutely classy and beautiful. It smells like the idea of autumn and Christmas, it feels like a warm hug with sweaters involved. The vanilla is absolutely not the centre of the scent, the chestnut and leather is the key

Was originally gifted a free sample of this with something else I ordered. I found myself constantly choosing to wear this instead of what I paid for. I finally broke down and paid a whopping $25 for a full bottle. I've only tried SWY Absolutely, never Leather so I can't guarantee how accurate a dupe it is but Corium smells great, lasts all day and is great value. I'm sure the dupe haters will review bomb it but it's a great Autumn fragrance. Spicy chestnut vanilla with a tiny hint of leather. Solid buy.

my first review because i think this is a criminally underappreciated scent from rayhaan. i have no idea what swy leather smells like, but it captures the swy dna while taking away the bright pepperyness and emphasizing the base note with a dark leather. the vanillia is still the more prominent, but the reduced sweetness along with the leather gives it a more mature, sophisticated scent. the performance is nothing to worry about, very strong sillage.

My initial reaction was it’s exactly the same as Monsieur Beauregard by Penhaligon’s. That’s not a bad thing as I’m coming to the end of the bottle that I had and it’s been discontinued. The performance wasn’t great either. The dry down on this is totally different though, I get the sweet vanilla and leather coming through. Could be a little sweet so not for everyone but as a bargain blind buy I have absolutely no complaints.

I have never smelled SWY Leather but I have smelled most of the other ones and this smells like SWYI with a very subtle leather touch in the background. The bottle is not my style and the overall presentation is pretty lacklustre but the scent is solid. I think that this is a good alternative to SWYI to be honest, it is a more mature version of it and I hear that it is being reformulated so maybe worth looking into.

Just got this a few days ago and the vanilla is not as present, the leather is strong but doesn't last very long and the spicy sweetness kind of reminds me of Armaf's Odyssey (the black one) more than it does SWY, overall performance is nothing special so far. I may need to spray it a couple times and let it sit for a while, ill update after some weeks.

Smells just like SWYI but with a little less sweetness/syrupiness and a small subliminal hint of leather added. (I dislike leather notes in fragrances so if I like this fragrance, the leather is very light). Performance is comparable to SWYI, probably 90% as much projection and sillage with similar longevity.

Corium is rich, resinous, and utterly addictive. It opens with a boozy note which is not in the notes. Then comes the leather, which deepens into smoky woods and nutty vanilla. If you crave a fragrance that smolders and comforts, great for Autumn and Winter, Corium delivers this hands down.

Arrived today and I can't stop smelling my left hand..... this stuff is lovely! I was getting a very mentholated smell to begin with, like peppermint or eucalyptus, but this has dried down to an intoxicating leather and spices smell. Can't wait to see what this is like in a few months

Opens up with a spicy-vanilla-cinnamon-chestnut sweetness, but mixed with a unique blend of slightly smokey and animalistic brown leather. Lasts super long & projects like crazy. Really good quality and great price, especially for the clone of a discontinued frag!

This is a good buy. Let it rest for 2 weeks then this projects really well. I use it at work and it's not offensive at all. The chestnut really stands out at first then the dry down is lovely with those vanilla. Oud and leather is somewhere in the first 2hrs.

i think my bottle was bad, no longevity or projection and smelled like the smell of chestnut that were left to sit in a plastic bag. i couldn't smell this at all on me, sprayed aggressively too. also smelled like a fragrance for people above 40 years old.

This is not bad guys, specially for the price. Great pick. There isn’t many dupes of SWYI or, absolutely or the leather this one is a combination of all three imo, I think that if you are a fan of the SWY collection this is an easy blind buy, 8.5/10.

One the best of Rayhaan brand! It's fantastic it is so close to the OG I own the OG also and it's near the same! Corium is long lasting projection is decent and for the price you can't go wrong! I highly recommend it!

This is too good! My second favourite after Rayhaan Valhalla (also amazing), definitely underrated too. Not for the summers though. This is a masculine fragrance and performs well for me. Would I buy this again? Yup!

If you like SWY or Spicebomb, this is perfect. This scent is intoxicating. I love it. One of the best dupes I’ve had in a long time. Masterpiece level. Very chestnut, leather, and vanilla forward.

Smells like SWYI with a very subtle leather. Very vanilla and sweetness is not too overwhelming. Last 5 to 6 Hours on skin and bit longer on clothes.

Smells exactly like SWY, you cannot go wrong with this one, for the price I think it is a really good fragrance if you are on a budget

First I got a decant and the next day I got the full bottle. A great perfume for men, I don't know why it's so underrated.

Where has this Smokey resinous woodsy pleasure wrapped in new buck leather been all my life?

this is one of my favourite of all time. its like a warm sensual hug really comforting.

I'm amazed at this fragrance, performance is amazing and I'm well pleased.

Very well performing, warm cozy scent. Not much of a leather though.

New bottle, so still getting to grips with this, but so far so good. Opens sweet and synthetic smelling with a slight medicinal quality (reminiscent of voice tablets, for the Brits among you) but the mid and dry down are pretty good: an interesting interplay of smoky chestnut and creamy sweetness, underpinned by subtle woods, spices and leather. The sweetness is somewhat over the top, and the smokiness/leather is too subtle, but this might iron out over time. At the moment, it projects like another variation of Althair/Liquid Brun. (The smoke, leather and chestnut are largely just skin notes right now and, despite the notes list above, elemi is by FAR the most significant element.) No problem with any of that. It's a really pleasant profile that's popular for a good reason. Plus, Corium is cheaper than either. I'm hoping, however, that the leather develops as the scent matures, since that was what I bought it for. I'll provide an update in a few months.

Oh Rayhaan... Oh Rayhaan.. I’m not a big fan of the Stronger With You DNA, so I wasn’t too pleased with this perfume at first, but it’s growing on me now stronger than ever. I have been getting some great compliments from my office buddies when I wear this, so I guess it takes a bit of time for people to get used to it. But once they do, they fall in love with the scent profile. This one feels like walking through a pine forest. The wind is blowing on you constantly and you feel it.. I don’t get a strong leather note here, but that chestnut is something out of this world, especially in the dry down. I also think this juice smells better on clothes than on skin, especially if you are wearing a leather jacket or even a hat. I’m super excited to wear this now. A straight up 8/10 for me.

This is a really good fragrance for colder weather. Really a beautiful smell, that just reminds you of being outside while the leaves colorful and falling. Maybe outside in some chilly weather at a campfire. Whifs of creamy vanilla and roasted chestnuts with undertones of leather. I'm not a big leather fan, as and this has just enough subtle undertones of leather to smell great without being overwhelming. The base notes are wonderful and pull the scent together well. This was a rare blind buy, that I wasn't sure about at first, but didn't take long to develop into a great smell. This isn't overwhelming, but the notes sit in the background delivering wafts of phenomenal flavors that will deliver a full sensory experience.

I definitely get the similarity to Stronger With You Leather. I'd say about 85-90% similar. Creamy, spicy chestnut leather in the opening. As it starts to dry down you start to get more of the Spicy Leather coming through in the mid then transitions into a more Vanilla creamy leather with an underlying woody Oud accord. Don't really get that much sage but it's only just been delivered today so once it macerates a while it might all change. I'll do an update in the Autumn to see if anything has changed. Definitely an Autumn / Winter scent which you might be able to get away with on cooler spring days as well. If you like leather fragrances this is a no brainer for less than £24. Well worth the blind buy..👍

Opening is a bit medicinal/chemical like as leather is their. You will feel spice, slight sweetness and leather dominance initially but after 15 to 20 min the leather will start getting settling down and the chestnut, vanilla comes to play. And as it keep drying the leather will get almost settled. I didn't like the opening beacuse it felt medicinal to me, as i am not fan of leather. But as it dry down it gets better. Strictly not a summer perfume. Better to wear in winters. May not be a blind buy if your are not into leather note.

This is by far the most approachable one in the Rayhaan leather lineup. This is very sweet for a leather fragrance and doesn't punch you in the face like the others do, the leather is not on the top but you can find it buried underneath the sweet vanilla and it comes forward more as it dries down. Mostly blind buy safe and great value. Not for folks looking for strong leather forward frags, then again this thing is $30, you can't go wrong.

This hangs in the air for quite a long time. I've had more than one person say "It smells really good in here", rather than the typical "You smell good". It's an extremely pleasant inexpensive fragrance. I found mine on ebay for $22 with free shipping. The seller's shop is called leperfect and for those who aren't familiar with them, it's actually Jomashop.

I have never tried the OG but got this cheap off of Justmylook. I have pretty much all of the SYW range, this is very nice, can pick up more of the chestnut early on, the leather isn't as predominant as the name suggests. Very nice though. Ive let mine sit for a month and come back to it and is better than I first sprayed

Addendum to last review. Just tried a spray of By the Fireplace, and it smells pretty similar to Corium. Corium is nowhere near as smoky on the opening, and not as caramel sweet on the drydown, but definitely in the same ballpark.

This is actually a good frag. The only Rayhaan you should ever own. good job rayhaan. Every other frag u put out is utter garbage and purely shill marketing just like afnan since 2024.

Not sure what i was expecting... The hype and all other shit i heard from this just made me question rayhaan a lot and other arab dupes out there (And Obsidian too... Long story short, for me the Obsidian's dna is hella close to the 9pm/Ultra male, so it was redundant for me. And i didn't find that info until the purchase was already made. I expected some Dior Homme style, but i only smell the same type of dna the 9pm has.) The Corium in other hand is just something that made me question, why would anyone want this. Especially those who already know what this smells like? It smells like a regular elderly and the Hubba Bubba bubble gum the longer i smell it in the air or on my skin. And it literally doesn't bring anything special or meaningful at least to my collection. I was expecting something "budget vintage/warm leathery gentleman" type of cologne... Let's just say that this is hella far away from that. I wouldn't be disappointed if I actually had reliable info about this (and the obsidian.), but all i literally got when i searched was mainly overhype, abstract views based on the notes and other tomfuckery. Feels like i got scammed... Based on these 2 purchases, I'd warn others who don't know much about Rayhaan to be sure you search the info more than it feels necessary. Most info out there is either some TikTok/blind hype and people describing the notelist like they're reading a restaurant menu, or just bunch of "i love this a lot", "it's a dupe of this. It's a dupe of that", "most unique smell, most unique blind buy" etc etc: neither one tells you how it actually smells and wears on skin, and you're going to find this type of info a lot...

Leathery sex in a bottle, bro. Holy. Rayhaan has built themselves quite a high reputation over the last two years, and this one definitely flew under the radar compared to their “viral” hits like Pacific, Elixir, or Lion. Yes, this is a fantastic inspiration of SWY Leather, but at the same time is like a love-child of SWY Leather and SWY Absolutely because of the implementation of that incredible balsamic Davana and peppery note from Absolutely. Combined with this non-offensive vanillic suede leather, fresh sage, and a hint of spices, this thing beats any of the SWYs on their own, in my very valid opinion. Obviously, restrict this to the winter/fall. You risk multiple counts of chemical terrorism if you try and wear this in the heat, partially due to how nuclear this thing is. Performance is an easy 8 hours on skin, 36+ on clothes. Projects strong for a solid 2 hours too. I combine this with Guerlain’s L’Homme Ideal EDP for a touch of dark cherry sweetness to add onto the leather here, and I have never gotten more compliments in my life by doing so. Regardless, none of it would be possible without Corium here. For the price, this is one of the safest blind buys you could ever make. With all dupes, again, I’d always recommend letting them macerate for two weeks or so.

Exceptionally lovely if you are fond of smokey spicy types, such as Tuscan Leather or By the Fireplace, with gentle leather and a bit more spice. Sweet-ish and with strong initial projection. Rather linear, but this is quite typical for Arabic brands. Overall, really pleasant and great value for money 👍

Woodsy-Vanilla with a layer of a smokey-powdery-leathery goodness, it is a great dupe of Armani Stronger with You Leather or generally most of the SWY flankers.. Given that the SWY leather was a middle eastern release it would've been difficult to come across in europe. Overall. 8/10.

I've found myself reaching for this more since I bought it a couple of months ago, a first leather blind buy as i liked the other notes of spicy and vanilla but its grown on me and is a solid fragrance in my collection.
