Cafecito

My first full proper sampling of one of RDZ Parfums’ most recent couple of releases, Cafecito, fittingly based on a coffee concept that I find very engaging, a good range from some of the darker aspects to the sweet/creamy/dessert-like aspects, with a range of influences in the middle, including rose and tobacco, and resins, which give it some darkness, smokiness, and sophistication, generally, and prevent it from being too wholly dessert-like. The rose in particular is noticeable as a modifier and makes it noticeably less dessert-like than, say, Theodoros Kalotinis Coffee Addict. As with pretty much the entire rest of the line, this is extrait concentration and priced at $160 for 100ml, still such a great deal in the current market, and sold via the house website as well as great boutiques like Perfumology, where I first learned of the brand and met Alex during the launch, now approaching 3 years ago. Cafecito is a welcome addition to a growing group of gourmands in the house, including Cereza, Flan, and Capicu, with this being perhaps their darkest entry yet. It performs quite well, consistent with most of the great-performing perfumes in the line, even if not among the very strongest performers in the line (Leyenda 21, Philadelphia, and Flan, off the top of my head)—again, I find the value to be very strong. And it’s a pretty delicious option for coffee lovers, with interesting hints of rose and tobacco, 8 out of 10
