Blood Spider Orchids

Not at all dark or dangerous, but warm and delicious! I agree with another reviewer’s comparison to Angel’s Share sans booze, which is perfect for me, as my skin ramps boozy notes until they’re all you get. I want to wrap myself up in this scent for all of the colder months, which is pretty much half the year in my area. Incredible longevity. Put it on around 7:30 pm before going out, and it’s now 8:30 am the next day. My skin soaks up fragrances no matter how much I moisturize, so this is nothing short of a miracle. Now in my want list, but I wish the sexy red version was still available!

It reminds me of a softer, more subdued version of Kilian’s Angel’s Share—just without the boozy note. I actually prefer this one since it feels a bit lighter and easier to wear. My 19-year-old has already asked for a full bottle for Christmas (and I’ll definitely be borrowing it!). It’s the perfect fall and winter fragrance as it smells like mulled cider----cozy, comforting, and a little bit nostalgic. Think a soft blanket, a good book, and a cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace. Absolutely beautiful.

My favorite type of candle has always been those ridiculously potent “winter/autumn spice” candles, and Blood Spider Orchid smells like you turned one of those candles into an edible baked good. Which is why it’s so surprising that I’m such a big fan of this perfume, because I usually *hate* most gourmand/baked good scents. I saw someone else compare this perfume to apple pie, and I couldn’t agree more, I really love this perfume. I’m just bummed that it’s summer and I can’t wear it until fall.

Spicy, warm, a touch sweet, and sensual. This is my favorite Fait Main that I own from Regime des Fleurs. It's a dip into the gourmand pool without being sickly sweet or cloying. It's alluring, drawing you closer; it feels intimate and inviting, but also a little dangerous and intriguing. One of those scents where you can't help but to sniff your own wrist all day long. Like all the higher concentration Fait Mains, the longevity is outstanding.

I REALLY like this, to me it’s a spiced plum cider or mulled wine scent. To me this kind of smells like a candle, but not overly so (though if you like Witching Hour from The New Savant, I think you would love this!) The spices are strong, but not in an irritating way. I just have a sample but I think I’m gonna get a bottle (pro tip: you can email the brand and purchase a 1ml sample of a Fait Main fragrance for like $20 plus shipping)

Speaking as a (usually) strictly gourmand lover, I was SHOCKED that I enjoyed this so much. The smooth sultry spice is seamless married to the sweet resin, smooth cedar and soft patchouli. The jasmine is absolutely outstanding. Not a drop of screeching notes or a wisp of a fragrance headache. Usually florals give me migraines, but apparently there are exceptions. I will be getting a full bottle of this well blended fever dream.

The lavish goddess of the harvest, a spirit of plenty, a Dionysus in Rembrandt lighting. She bathes in sacrifical blood under the silver light of a full moon. Mulled fruit, night-blooming flora, vows uttered low in dark places. Or, if you will, Hansel and Gretel drawn deep into the witch's woods, lulled by aromas of spiced delights baked long and low over wood fire. I, too, would follow.

"Primal allure, female wasp pheromones, and Dracula’s bloom” like woah... Most successful blind buy of my life. I was able to email the brand in January & they still had some left for me to purchase. This is heaven. The most insanely gorgeous tonka with mulling spices. Resinous, sensual, & sultry.

Yummmmmm. Like a gingerbread crusted apple pie but not overly sweet or gourmand. I would wear this to a work Christmas party. If you’re expecting vampy, goth and dark, you’ll be disappointed, but if you want a delightful warm spicy fragrance definitely give it a try.

I sinned. This was a blind buy, because who doesn’t want a thimbleful of vampire blood stoppered in a crystal phial? From the RdF description I came braced for a night-dark, carnal musk, but I get more... vampy Christkindlesmark? Very much the gothic gourmand other sage reviewers have described, like a cobbler of orchard fruits or a cauldron of mulled wine. Now that my initial whiplash has faded, I’m eager to feast. The cinnamon is pastry-like, but not cloying, and I can’t believe there’s no fruit listed, because the love interest for me is this spice-drunk apple/plum that really blooms an hour in. A lingering cathedral incense adds a bit of umbral flavour. I wish it was bloodier and more spidery, but this is still a lush and highly wearable spice. It's a delicious pie. This is my late-October, early-November scent. It's mulled spices -- a little airy and lighter than one might expect reading the note list and the brand copy. At first, this felt like the smell of a candle. But it does dry down into something spicy and sultry. I've grown to love it. But only for the fall. One more thing: the name does not match the scent. This is a light-hearted, spicy apple cider, cozy fragrance. The name doesn't fit at all!

Picture, if you will, a cartoon apple pie baking in the oven. The scent rises on the wind, catching the nose of a nearby wolf, who with heart eyes, salivates and levitates, carried on the breeze towards the delicious fragrance on the air. This is that sweet wind as an extrait, which sticks close to the skin as an inviting, warm spice scent. Not as deep or dangerous as the color or name would suggest, this vampire might just sparkle.

Pleasantly medicinal apple pie. The name is so ridiculously gothic and ill-fitting that it's funny. I really love that. I can't wait for someone to ask what perfume I'm wearing so I can tell them "Blood Spider Orchids".

Heavily sugared cinnamon & all-spice fades to a bed of tonka and cedar in a background of white flowers. Late fall / early winter in Western Morocco.

Much airier and more floral than I expected. It definitely leans feminine. I think if you like a light floral spiced perfume you may like this one.

Hrm - I do love this scent: It smells like fresh sparkly apple pie and so it sort of leans yankee candle to me which is maybe what would keep me from buying it. It’s missing......something.....I can’t place what but as a fragrance with a higher price point it’s just missing something complex or intriguing to me. So it’s odd, I love the smell but I wish it did more.

This is really giving Yankee Candle to me. Just a mush of baking spices and sweetness. Does not have the refinement needed to justify the price, at all.

I wanted to love this but it was too dry for me personally. I actually scrubbed it off.

This is an intensely sugared cinnamon and autumn fruit compote, with a bit of brooding, jasmine-y burlesque sultriness. Big Titty Goth Girlfriend harvest spice simmer pot. Too va-va-voom to be cozy, too cozy to be moody, too moody to be come-hither. Sort of like [Mae West voice] "Come up and see me sometime," but it's ultimately an invitation to drink boozy hot cider in the dark while rubbing each other's feet and watching Over the Garden Wall on endless loop and streaming yourselves for freaky guys who are into that kinda shit.
