Histoire d'Orgeat - Heliotrope

Tried this lately and loved it. Opening notes are not really my vibe but it very quickly, after 5 minutes or so, turns into a pure almond smell on my skin. Smells faintly of some kind of almond medicine, but I love it. Currently deciding if I should get this one or Jo Malone - Tonka myrrh as my night scent. If you like this one definitely try the Jo Malone one!

Just got this from an online shop today. Yes, it was a blind buy but as I am currently enjoying almond scents, I figured I was safe....in my defense, I have only one other of all my blind buys I do not get along with, so figured I'd risk it. That said, this opens with a somewhat bitter and green fig leaf which I find to be only ok. I also get an alcohol smell which cheapens the opening for me. Slowly the heliotrope and almond notes emerge, which are some of my favorite notes, but I'm not sure they blend well with the fig here or it is the lingering alcohol which makes it more medicinal and less edible. Tonka and vanilla follow in the dry down. This one may need to sit for a moment and I will try again to see how we get along but for now - I am left wishing this were overall better blended and a bit more gourmand. Meh. Edit: 03/24/26 My husband burnt an egg he was cooking last night and in desperation, I grabbed my bottle of Reminiscence to spray around the room. From my earlier review you'll recall I wasn't in love with this fragrance so using it as a room spray seemed right. That being said, as soon as I sprayed I had to stop and sniff....what's this? Almond pastries? Another sniff...now applied to my wrist....ahhh, the bakery scent I was hoping for! The harsh alcohol opening had disappeared, a cloud of soft sugared almonds remained. Did it cover the smell of overcooked egg - not really. Was it generously applied to my bedding and self in order to fall asleep to sweetly scented dreams - most definitely. If you've had the same response to this perfume - give her time, she'll get there. Skip the egg if possible ;)

this perfume smells good, but i find the ambery note too present and it smells very mature, I'm 19 and i couldnt wear this bc it smells kinda like an old lady. however, it is a comforting fragrance, and if the ambery note was less strong, i would definitely wear it 👍

This is the repackaged version of the discontinued Les Notes Gourmandes Héliotrope for the triple of its price. Disgusting business practice. Shame on you, Reminiscence. Never going to buy from you anymore, and I also warn others from buying your overpriced products.
