Patchouli Blanc

Wow, just wow. A powdery, sweet patchouli! It is beautiful! The aldehydes at the start are the ones from Fleurs de Rocaille, so not for the faint of heart. If you don't like aldeydes, Patchouli Blanc probably isn't for you. This perfumes proofs on what you are missing out, if you dismiss aldehydes like a lot of people seem to do nowadays. Aldehydes and patchouli, soft and tender and a little sharp right from the start. While the aldehydes fly away, the powdery notes emerge. The smell totally Reminscence, like in their Gourmands, Musk and Amber. A delight to smell! A lot of musk and sandelwood make it even softer. A soft and gourmandy patchouli, the total opposite on their other patchoulis. No head shop, no earth, no dark chocolate, no goth (all of which I love in patchouli, don't get me wrong). But patchouli from start to finish. I love it! It could easily go by the name "Ti Do". I want a full bottle!!! The downside is the perfume's weakness. It's gone after just some hours (3-4 hours on me) and I am usually detecting perfumes even after most people would have reapplied them.

I completely agree with the former reviewer saying that this is NUCLEAR. And believe me it is. To the extend that I wouldn't recommend ever wearing this in the hotter months of the year, and do NOT bury your nose in it right after spraying. Keep in mind this is and EDP, and this brand is known for several Patchouli-frags that even as "only" EDT-s already are very potent. All that being said, this is initially a more powdery and slightly more soapy version of their original Patchouli. The drydown however, is what makes me fall in love with it. Let it rest, and about an hour in you will smell a powdery inscence, as in a lovely resinous classic inscence, with a hint of a warm slightly musky vanilla (white chocolate?)... The patchouli is of course always there. When I want to keep it a bit less soapy, I layer it with Encre Noire and litteraly... It's one of my absolute favorites. Definitely niche quality that takes you on a ride.

Holy dina, this is a powdery patch musk bomb! It's intense and sensual. Soft yet forceful. There's a bit of a skanky animalic quality that lurks between the layers. It's quite an enigmatic fragrance and one of the best I've smelled from this house. Definitely not for the faint of heart and would recommend to women 35+. Performance is great and projection is out there! Spray lightly or you might get overwhelmed. IMO this is 100% an evening fragrance, perfect for a date night. Make sure your date likes patchouli and musk tho or you risk turning him off. The animalic quality is a bit mind bending; if you like intellectual stimulation, you will likely enjoy the Picassoesque challenge this perfume offers.

Ordered a sample of this based on the notes. The thing is, I thought I didn't like patchouli, but this patchouli I simply adore. The opening is sparkly, which is a completely new experience for me, must be the aldehydes? Dries down to a warm and cozy ambery-feeling scent that doesn't have a massive projection, which in my opinion adds to the versatility. Wore it to the office, and got loads of compliments and inquiries. Some other reviewers have complained about the longevity, but I did not have any issues with it. Definitely getting a full bottle after I'm done with the sample, as this one will probably be my autumn 2016 go-to scent. So good.

Just WOW. I wasn’t sure I’d like this reading the reviews and boy was I wrong, and I’m so happy about that bc I blind bought it. I agree with the comparisons to Splendida Patchouli Tentation- but it’s different. It swings a much stronger patchouli bat than Patchouli Tentation. Where Tentation floats like a butterfly, Patchouli Blanc stings like a bee. In the best way possible. It’s definitely backup bottle worthy if you like a wearable patchouli frag. I think it falls in a more crowd-pleasing category than other patchouli’s, and is a must have for any Patch Ho, like me. Don’t sleep on this one, or be swayed by bad reviews like I *almost* was.

A pleasant, powdery musk with with a noticeable touch of Patchouli. There's a creaminess too, an almost lactonic quality. Clean-smelling, unlike the the dirtiness and chocolaty dry-down of the original Reminiscence Patchouli. An anytime, anywhere perfume. An interview-appropriate take on Patchouli! Comfortably unisex, but veering slightly more feminine. Fair longevity, although projection remains very intimate. A fragrance that benefits from a little over-spraying in its lightness.

Aaredhel’s comment that “if angels wore perfume, this would be it” was what finally made me try this perfume. Thank you!! You are so right! It’s unbelievably beautiful. Fell immediately in love and ordered a backup. Update: I wear this OFTEN. I have only grown to love and enjoy it more. The longevity is always excellent, which for me means 10+ hrs. Complete soul-satisying joy!

Soft, romantic and comforting smell. Feels like wrapping up in a nice soft blanket while you watch the sea on a sunny winter day. It's really beautiful and calming. It's not a strong patchouli scent... very mild and powdery with lots of musk. Edit : I've been wearing it a little more, I love love the smell... but the staying power is weak :-/

Talc-y powdery aldehydes on top of sweet, lightly animalic patchouli. Sandalwood serves as a nice balance. Really beautiful scent, all warm, sunny, and cuddly. Amazing sillage, definitely leaves a scent trail. Super long-lasting, 10+ hrs on skin & clothes. Highly recommend for autumn & winter, will work well in spring too.

For me this is the winter version of my beloved summer freshie: Le musc & la peau by Pierre Guillaume. It has the same kind of Aldahydes and Musk, with the addition of powdery patchouli, which in combination with the rest of the notes smells like church inscence in a way. Really delicate and creamy :)

This is casual chic at its best, a bright, cozy patchouli that feels right for any occasion. Good projection and longevity. As a man, I wear it like cashmere and I love it!

Classic, very feminine and sophisticated scent. This is similar to Teint De Neige, to my nose. Sweet and classy. Very longlasting. Highly recommended.

If angels wore a perfume, this would be it. Absolute angelic perfection.

This is a patchouli for creamy perfume lovers. A baby-patchouli. Very soft, gentle, sunny and cozy. The patchouli isn't strong - it's wrapped in a blanket of powder, musk and sandalwood, and made very clean with a touch of aldehyde. I'd say it's more of a green patchouli than a white one though - there's a certain note always in the background that smells like half-dried grass. Not like the grassy note in Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, and not like the completely dry grass in Nirvana Rose by Elisabeth&James. It's avery natural note of grass that has only dried half way - a note I'm very used to from many summers spent on a farm. On me, it smells different in warm vs cold weather: the aldehydes and musc are more prominent in warmer temperatures, while a chocolate-y patchouli is strongest in cold weather. It's a masterpiece ❤️ Edit: I got myself a 100 mL bottle! 😀

I normally steer clear of any musky fragrances but this one is a winner for me. Its not a dirty suffocating musk. On the first spritz the patch is immediately evident then the musk and powdery notes. I think its the star anise that really brings it altogether beautifully. The amber adds some resinous sweetness and the sandalwood grounds everything. The aldehydes provide a bit of sparkle. These notes create a very sexy modern fragrance. Its your skin but much better. I love how the powdery notes give that feel of feminine softness. Another resounding success for Remininscence. This fragrance would be easy to wear in all weathers and for all occasions. Moderate sillage but long longevity.

Update: in mid summer this is indeed very nucleair! LoL Edit: The love keeps growing. Mmmm. Thank you Fabrice. A blind buy. Well this was exciting! I somewhere got intrigued by the brand. I used to wear Pure Eve (former pure virgin by the different company) and was looking for something just as pure without the dried candyness as I do not relate to that anymore. And wow. I’m so glad to have this and will re-live this me pureness as we spend so much time alone nowadays anyway. Patchouli in here is not grounded but sky high. Don’t let the aldehydes or anise scare you at first snif, let them do their job. It took me 3 days to ‘get’ it. Very soothing cloudy (close to skin) scent.

this starts powdery with hawthorn, aldehydes and star anise, i believe. it's powdery but with a green sparkling thing going on from the hawthorn/aldehydes. then the patchouli comes out a bit more adding some earthiness but nothing heavy at all. i love this powdery note, which i think reminiscence does quite well from the few that i've tried. it starts as an herbal powdery scent and dries down to a gorgeous powdery cloud.

I'm so surprised of myself! I never wear patchouli scents, i just never like them.. they always seem to me overwhelming and too sharp, but this beauty is a must have! It is the first patchouli fragrance i totally love and just had to buy! It is very sensual, sexy and mysterious! It's very feminine, well balanced and actually soft in a way. I love it!

Something about it smells “clean” but it doesn’t go too sharp for me, due to the other notes. It is clean, but soft and warm, somewhat herbal and a little sweet. I just wish it was a little stronger, but it is pretty affordable so I’m OK with reapplying. It’s a decent laundry clean type scent.

This is a powdery, elegant, year-round approach to Patchouli. It reminds me of Molinard Vanille Patchouli. As a patch lover, I couldn’t be happier. This is so pretty that my BK bottle is on the way.

Sweet, enveloping perfumes with an incredibly delicate oriental note. They linger intimately close to the skin from the beginning, ending with a powdery sweet, subtle dry down. Elegant, subtle.

It's giving me sunscreen vibes, I cant help my self. It takes me to 90's summer vacation in Italy. I pretty like it.

If the original Reminiscence Patchouli it's the 'dark chocolate' scent, this Patchouli Blanc would be the 'white chocolate' one, as simply as that. But in this case, as other reviewers said below, the main note is accompained by white flowers, aldehydics and some podwery notes. It's really nice, well balanced and more femenine than masculine, however, staying power is quite poor and projection notablly subtle... it's compensated by a relativelly low price? maybe. In all it's made out of quality ingredients and that means a good score in my book. --------------------------------------------------- Si el Reminiscence Patchouli original es el aroma del "chocolate negro", este Patchouli Blanc sería el del "chocolate blanco", tan simple como eso. Along with the chocolately patchouli, this is also almost like an earthy iris powder scent, works in hot weather because it's so dry. I like it quite a bit. The only drawback for me is a peppery like pencil shavings aspect, but it doesn't dominate or last the length of the fragrance. Very lasting, beautiful dry-down. Update 9/3/23: Smells a bit like carnation, which is the part I absolutely love in Patchouli Blanc. There is a fair amount of sweet vanilla, and I may be crazy but even some hint of ylang, but the spicy carnation hint is what I look for and enjoy. An ordinary and thin patchouli is there in the dry-down, almost an afterthought to the pretty musky florals, powdery wood and spice. Love the clean from the aldehydes. Update 12/7/23: Nutty, salty powder. A bit of that synthetic, thin patchouli. I have no idea where the carnations have gone, now I get jasmine. Still like it a lot.

Blind buy after reading comments. There is a lot in the ingredient description that resonates with me. Patchouli is one of my favorite notes in perfumery. For me, the note of patchouli is a mystery scent. Today the long-awaited purchase arrived. At first it's a complete disappointment. Patchouli disappears after 15 minutes. then some flowers appeared, I couldn’t identify them, most likely it was a hawthorn and these flowers simply annoyed me. It's good that it doesn't last long either... in the dry residue you can feel a pleasant soft amber, and it's very close to the body. You just need to poke your nose into the place where the perfume was applied. Those around me didn't react at all :) I didn't smell the anise at all. Bottom line: - a pleasant, not bright, unisex scent with a very low projection, at least on my dry skin.

Reminiscence Patchouli Blanc A really soft powdery patchouli, stripped back from its harsh hippie tendencies. Elegant and mild, soft and clean. A bit old fashioned from the aldehydes rather than hippy. Feels like second skin. A lot lighter and airier than I expected. The bottle’s spray mechanism produces a fine mist, which explains why it smells light and airy, rather than a dense, heavy patchouli and powder. Since it’s so light, I feel I have to plant my nose onto my wrist, sniffing the heck out of it! Really, really subtle. I’d have to go a bit crazy with the sprayer, I reckon! A blast of star anise when first sprayed, reminding me of mum’s cooking. Slowly, aldehydes unravel itself. Then it comes to its heart stage of patchouli, powder and musk where change in scent is minimal. Dry down is a fluffy, powdery, amber, sandalwood musk. I think I get some vanilla but maybe I am simply imagining it because I’d like it to be there. A very slight hint of Coromandel, by no means similar but the patchouli I get here in Patchouli Blanc bears similarity to the patchouli in Coromandel. A dialled down, minty facet of patchouli is here. Very well done perfume! A patchouli scent I can wear anywhere! Really effortless and classy. *For those new to Reminiscence, the bottle is really interesting, rather than a rectangular shape depicted in pictures online - it actually concaves in! This adds a bit of ‘edge’ to what would otherwise be a boring bottle. I appreciate Reminiscence for being cool like that :)

This is strong. But that is the only good thing I can say about it. To me this is an ultimate old lady scent (like 70 and up). Agressive. I don't dislike patchouli as a note, so it must be the aldehydes or something else. Just horrible.

This one is too sweet for me (the white musk?), I'll pass.

Not at all patchouli tentation. This is screechy. No no.

Very mild, very pleasant, a tad dusty. Like a base of Serge Litens point du jour, sans the camphory top notes (which are enjoyable, but not everyones cup of tea). Definitely a more tamed Reminiscence Patchouli. which I'd reccomend for everyone to get their nose on if they want to learn their patchouli notes. Kinda like homework. Definitely not for anyone, or just anywhere, though I'd argue it's rather easy to wear. Reminds me of the smell of beeswax, sweet old wood and Nivea body cream. The smell of an old Yugoslavian gradma's house in the rural area, slightly ambery, sweet and comforting. A skin scent, kinda powdery, like vintage makeup scents. I reccomend this type for a night when you want to stay and home and do comforting things, maybe in a vintage style - reading a book from the antiquariat, enjoying the summer sky and the cool wind on your skin. Smells like nights spent in a wooden cottage. So nice, such a throwback but realistically not my cup of tea very often. Lasts pretty short on me. Disappears within an hour. Comfy tho!

Cloudy,peppery, light woodsy, a touch of vanilla as it warms on the skin- if there was more floral it would remind me of Miller Harris Violet Ida or even of my beloved MH Powdered Veil without the amber. Better strength and staying power though! Possibly useful for layering for me but can easily stand on its own. Definitely a cosy winter one. Don’t get much patchouli however.

I can’t believe it can be perceived as poor. On me it’s nuclear. Like some crushed white soap bar with an heavy addition of amber and golden patchouli. Not an airy patchouli you know. A good, heavy, thick one, like in the good old times. A dove soap delicate lady getting married with a retro peace and love guy. And you know what? They’re happy, they are in love. So am I.

There's not much patchouli to me. This is more of a feminine, floral, powdery scent with a small hint of patchouli. I was hoping for the opposite with more patchouli and hint of soapiness but that's not really what you get. Overall it's nice but I can't see a guy wearing this one.

Its a softer more feminine and slightly powdery take on the original Patchouli. Very intimate and after the powdery opening which last for 10 mins , it will take you to the far dry down of the original Patchouli. Its tamed and light.

This is a very soapy, old fashioned scent - great for autumn but still somewhat suffocating for people like me who are migraine-prone. Very retro-ish so if you're into that, then this scent would be perfect for you! :)

Diego, not at all. There is something boozy in it,kind of Bailey smell in the opening. Soft,almost skin scent after one hour. Nice but forgettable.

Is it similar to White Patchuli by Tom Ford???
