Quick review of Cigar Special Edition for Men by Remy Latour - Very preety box and bottle (I bought the Spetial Edition - It does have a gorgeous box and bottle quite different from the normal edition). Good sprayer ! - Fruity sweet, quality pipe tobacco, woody ! - Smooth, well blended, good notes harmony during it's evolution ! - Compliment grabber! This attraction is a result of a gourmand aromatic scent in with the top fruity notes and flower middle notes, as well with a gourmand tobbacco and woody bottom notes. It presents a long and calm dry down. Does not have a loud projection. Its sillage peaks at 3~4 feet till the end of the second hour. It presents a generous skin scent till the 8th hour. After that you get a faint skin scent for 2 hours more. Slightly above average performance! - Does not smell cheap or syntethic ! - Special edition costed only 1,00 more than normal edition! - It's quite more agreable than Cuba Red - I just mention it because a lot of people compare the 2 fragrances! It does share a vibe with Burberry London for Men. I truly love this scent..... Unfortunately Remy Latour made a decision to change the sprayer under a removable cap for an integrated sprayer. The result of this is that maybe 60% of one squirt actually ends up on my body and the rest shoots out at such a weird angle that it ends up on the inside of the non removable cap and then slowly runs down the whole bottle which constantly has to be wiped dry after usage. Sooooooo annoying. Ideally any sprayer should have a funnel style spray pattern. Interestingly my Remy Latour Cigar Blue bottle, identical in design sprays perfectly fine without drenching the whole bottle in liquid. Back to the scent... I can see how many compare it to Burberry London but i could only detect similarities after the initial spray. In the dry down, Burberry London remains sweetish, the whiff of port wine recognisable and it ends up as a soft woody scent. Remy Latour Cigar has a wonderful sweet tobacco dry down and it really does smell like a nice aromatic pipe or cigar tobacco which was just rubbed on your body. It lasts long even on my skin, which usually absorbs scents instantly . Beautiful scent, beautiful designed bottle, catastrophically executed sprayer. Please Remy Latour, go back to the solution with a separate bottle/sprayer and cap. I'm happy to spend more money for that.

I blind bought this because it was so cheap and most of the reviews are positive. However, I didn't expect it to be so good. I'm captivated by it from the first spray. Really enjoy the succulent plum and pear fruity notes at the open right down to the tobacco dry down. The whole thing just smell so inviting and delicious. The sweet and smokey contrast of this fragrance gives it complexity and it's really addictive. Longevity and performance are very good. For people who have never tried this fragrance, believe all the raving reviews about it here. I'm glad I did. I also bought Black Wood, but found it less interesting. Hope that over time, I'll grow to appreciate it more. Right now, it's a poor second to Cigar. 2 MONTHS AFTER ABOVE REVIEW I've not used my Cigar and Black Wood frags for the past 2 months as I've been trying out other new purchases. Two days ago, I applied Black Wood to see if I wanted to keep it or give it away. I immediately fell in love with it. For some reason, I could appreciate a lot of the woody and floral notes which I could not smell before. Most of all, I really enjoy the sweet coconut smell. I'm a little surprised by my complete turnaround and I'm glad I gave it a second chance . It's a great scent and the longevity is very very good too. Now, I can't wait to get Black Oud.

I noticed that a frequently used term to describe this fragrance is "charming" - and that is a very accurate description for Cigar. The sillage and longevity on Cigar is amazing, yet there doesn't seem to be anything overbearing or irritating in the least. I think the reason not many people comment on the fruit notes is because they are so light and harmonize so well with the tobacco and patchouli instead of dominating the conversation and help lend the "charm" to this fragrance. I was really having a rough and kind of sad week while I wore this but Cigar refused to let me wallow too much in my sadness. It's a "happy" kind of scent that feels authentically happy, if that makes sense. It doesn't try too hard and come off feeling manic. My husband really liked this on me and a woman at work went mad for it and I had to show her this page so she could see what this was called and how much it cost - she wants it for herself as well - she wrote down the name and brand and was very excited. She thought the patchouli smelled terrific. Really can't go wrong with this little gem.

This was one of my first colognes in my early 20s - I've still got about 30% left of a 1996 bottle (it's an EDC, which I think was the only option back then), and I plan to use it judiciously - but I am interested to see how much more strength the current EDT has. Back in the day it was very hit-or-miss with the ladies - I suspect that many American women back in the 90's hadn't really been exposed to too many tobacco or spicy scents to that point, as they routinely would dismiss it as too masculine. For that reason I kept it tucked away in the back of my stash - and that's probably the reason I have anything left of my vintage bottle. It's remarkable how tastes in scents mature over time, as in recent years I've never received anything like the previous prejudice against this definitive sweet-tobacco gem - or maybe it's the difference between the young women of my youth and the mature women it's my privilege to engage with in more recent years. While preserving my bottle I'm venturing into the Cuba Paris line to see how they compare.

Fruity Tobacco Pipe... Mmmmmm! This is tobacco but with a lot of juicy fruit. It has a wonderful plum note that blends with the creamy tobacco beautifully. It is a scent which can be strong if over applied. I personally find it delightful and a great take on a typical masculine fragrance. I think this is what men should smell like when it comes to masculine fragrances because it's not trying to be overly sweet or candy like. It's like a puff of rich cigar smoke and fruits. I cannot recommend this one highly enough because it's price belies it's quality in my honest opinion. I don't think you can go wrong with it as long as you have a developed nose and like rich, complex tobacco fragrances. An underrated gem which is worth seeking out!

It was 1996 i always loved the way my elder brother smelled....i was a kid back then n i still remember how his scent used to fill the room.....He used to get a lot of compliments for his scent....one day i went to his room n i saw this absolutely magnificent gem called CIGAR by REMY LATOUR.....After a couple of years i bought this scent for myself n i simply loved it back then... Today i bought it again n m smelling it after 15 years n guys trust me this is much much better perfume than most of my designer scents, n m thinkin why didnt i buy it erlier??????This is truly a GEM, very masculine n seductive..... Go buy it u will get lots of compliments....n its cheap...it is long lasting n it projects very well.... For me its 10/10

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 102 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased July 2019 Yes, yes, and more Yes. Can't ever say no to this. Better than Aramis Havana, this one goes further. Had a deodorant called Tusk which this reminds me of, for some reason, and takes me back to the mid 2000s when there was every type of scent you could imagine on the shelves. Back to the time I always smelt like Cigar, or similar. Even deodorants had a monstrous variety and smelt like what they were presented as. But ok ok, everything I write recently basically becomes a rehash of all my grievances. Let's talk about Cigar-- Just buy it. Waste no time looking at the picture. You'd better PM me. I'm obviously late to this party. I wish I had found out about this sooner. Definitely a beautiful old world, smokey piped tobacco. Reminds me of Captain Black Cavendish piped tobacco. The compositions in this fragrance are beautiful. After the initial blast of tobacco, there's a slight cedar note that burns the nose, almost medicinal. I do pickup patchouli, heavy marigold and bergamot which hangs in there for the remainder. This is a gentleman scent, can be more for a formal setting or nite out with my wife at a good restaurant on a cool spring to fall nite. I like it very much. Between a love and like. I have to wear it more to rate the longevity accuracy, but I'm getting a good 4 hours this far. 8.5 out of 10. 👍

I first sampled this EDT 15 years ago while killing time at the clearance table of a discount store and was literally blown away. I'd never heard of it, but snatched it up and I've managed to have a bottle in my collection ever since. This may be the best value in a men's fragrance ever. It's smokey & rich but with enough sweet, citrusy base notes to keep it from smelling like something out of granddad's attic. So while your buddies are dropping 75 bucks an ounce for stuff that smells like a Fruit Roll-up soaked in rubbing alcohol, you can save a bunch and smell better simultaneously. Protip from an old guy: Patchouli brings out the feral beast in precisely the type of ladies you'd hope it would.

It brings the feeling of entering a tobacco store with a touch of sweet cigars lingering in the air. To me, it makes me think of the action film "The Light at the Edge of the World" (1971) situated on a made-up rocky island with a lighthouse, where the winds are strong and the lighthouse keeper, an elderly sailor, smokes a cigar. Even though this cologne is reasonably priced, it does not have a low-quality scent. It surpasses quality expectations. It boasts impressive staying power, with a longevity of 9-10 hours on skin and lingering on clothing for days or even weeks. This scent will never go out of style! Those who are enthusiasts of this fragrance should definitely test it out.

I discovered this gem on Reddit and have been pleased that the fragrance rises above its kitschy bottle and inoperable atomizer. Bit of a green, ashy opening; leans aromatic and softly smoky. As a matter of fact – softly, or shyly is how it wears. The marigold and geranium are watercolors of the flowerbeds of the apartments where I grew up. It’s a dry, semi-sweet – or, again, softly sweet – unlit tobacco. The fruits are neither cloying nor acidic; they’re loving spoonfuls of sugar-free fruit salad that’s mostly pears. The scent develops nicely into this dusty-smooth sandalwood and gentle-manly musk. It’s present, not overpowering. Attention-getting, not grabbing.

I must admit that I really like those two fragrances: Cigar by Remy Latour and Double Whisky by Evaflor. As others fragranticians said, those are two of the best “supermarket” perfumes that one can find – and buy for a song. Two perfumes, but a single dry, tobacco-ish, woody–aromatic and virile perfume! Two in one – because is there something unclear for me: the two are – to my nose – 100% identical!!! This site says RL’s Cigar was launched in 1996. If so, Double Whisky... is it older... or newer than ‘96? It’s obvious that one is the clone of the other. Until I’ll find the answer, I’ll give both of them a deserved 8+/10.

My signature fragrance, most beautifull part of this fragrance is its dry down, i've never smelt so beautifull fragrance as in its dry down but at that fase its sillage is very low, wish it should have more sillage in its base note and longevity. I feel oud in this fragrance which is not listid but i feel oud in it, may be sandal and tobacco combine gives oud like vib. Mukhallat shams by ajmal is much similar to this fragrance but have very strong sillage and too much longavity but price is also very high as compare to cigar nearly 40€. Which is 4 times that of cigar.

Cigar is one of the founding fathers of modern tobacco scents. Tobacco mixed with sandalwood, bay leaf, cedar and pineapple gives it a pirate vibe. Think Jimmy Buffett or Jack Sparrow. A very pleasant mixture of bay rum and cigar humidor. What intrigues me is that I can actually smell the humidity of the tobacco and cedar in the notes. That's a hard olfactory trick to pull off. It's cheap and very safe to blind buy. I don't detect any difference between vintage and modern formulations. If Creed bottled this scent it would cost $500. Do yourself a favor and buy two.

''Cigar'' by Remy Latour is a fragrance that shows it's true essence and beauty of which the tobacco note is the most dominant. The Patchouli is another to love a long with the Sandalwood and Cedar notes. The silage and longevity as always, depends on our body chemistry. So for me, I usually get 6-8 hours on my skin. 2 sprays on each pulse point does the trick to last me a little longer. I compliment this with a Lucky Strike and I'm good to go.

If you wanna stand out these days it can be easy. With all the younger guys wearing the fruit loop scents and sweet as can be gourmands or orientals you can show some maturity with this, it has a TRUE tobacco note at its heart! Havana by Aramis gets fancy and mixes many herbs and spices and others mix in the usual lavender, leather or .................... I love Havana by Aramis and have come across others with a hint of tobacco but this one takes that golden leaf and shoves it in your face! And I am not a smoker. Love it or leave it!

Wonderful tobacco scent , after the hither thither opening it settles in a tobacco woody musky scent with a hint of fruity freshness in the middle for about 1 hr. After 2 hrs there are tobacco and woody notes with hint of patchouli. Great winter night scent. Personally I prefer Burberry London for Men but considering its price it will always remain in my collection and will be wearing a lot in winter. I get about 5+ hrs of longevity. Scent 8/10 Sillage 7/10 Longevity 8/10 Value 9/10

It was a gift from my aunt in 2004, and bring back many memories in high school. It's nice fruity tobacco scent, it's not as it used to be back then. This formulation more fruity, sweeter and thes tobacco is weaker, and between the fruity notes, the pineapple is more prominent in the opening and i prefer the older formulation, where the tobacco note is stronger than the current formulation. The performance is good compared to it's price, and i love the bottle design.

A really lovely warm and smooth tobacco/woody scent. Similar to Cuba Red. Cigar, however, is a little stronger and more smooth. It develops on your skin after you apply it and seems to get stronger. Basically it's a mellow unsmoked sweet pipe tobacco smell with a really lovely sillage. Staying power and projection are very good. If you like sweet tobacco scents, you'll love this one. I love this - it really is GORGEOUS!!
