Bertrand Duchaufour

Man I am loving this juice. I received samples of all 3 from luckyscent and ordered a bottle of this because Bertrand Duchaufour is one of my favorite perfumers. This leans more toward the masculine vibe. Just a beautiful aquatic with some smoky incense. This is my first bottle wearing and it's been on skin for about 8 hours and I can still smell it. This is what perfumery should be about. These perfumers were given the time, money, and resources to do whatever they wanted to do. This is a totally excellent concept and I would love to see more from other perfumers too. It does kind of remind me of AdG Profumo but this is sooo much better. Hats of to Project Renegads for this beautiful piece of art. Definitely signature scent worthy.

Too safe gorgeous fragrance! If you want a very safe lovely fragrance that doesn't annoy your colleagues, friends, and even yourself, consider this one. It is clean, green, soft and aromatic. It evokes the feeling that you have just taken a shower and come out of the bathroom while you are still wet, and you smell clean, slightly soapy and fresh. To me the main notes are galbanum, olibanum, pink pepper and bergamot. The sillage is moderate for the first hour and then it turns to skin scent. The longevity is ok but it projects so soft. While this is not a revolutionary renegade fragrance, it is as lovely as other Project Renegades fragrances, and as other Bertrand Duchaufour's niche designs.

Lol soft eh? Not on me.. Or my cloths! This stuff is awesome, not sure what Roge was smelling but obviously wasn't this. I had a little danger sample that was even potent at little micro drops. Now I'm a full bottle owner and it's through the roof. Projects seriously all day. Closest thing this smells like is adj profumo. But not even close to the same leauge. The pink leper is grwleat and I can smell ever note.. people love it too.

I was drawn to this bottle because of the perfumer and the looks. I am not a big fan of very green, fresh fragrances, but i had to give it a try. The bottle, packaging is very original and beautiful, for that it's great. The fragrance is very fresh, full of fir and galbanum in the opening. For me it gives a little cheap soapy vibe in it, like a simple forest like shower gel. I expected something more different and mindblowing, this is besides the bottle, not very interesting. Only positive thing is that the fragrance will hold longer than most ultra fresh scents.

I don't like it. It has a "typical male cologne" (think POLO, UGH!) smell to it for quite some time (at least 45 minutes), and then some pepper. I pretty much hate it, and it's leaving my house asap. I honestly can't believe that Duchafour created *this*, given an unlimited materials budget, and the ability to create whatever he wanted. Uch. Maybe creative constraints are a good thing after all. I find this perfume as ugly as the bottle it's housed in.

In one word "Conventional"! I expected a lot more from Bertrand Duchaufour. To me this can be categorized as a designer fragrance in terms of ability to satisfy the ordinary customers in the department stores. The dry down is a little better but still not very special.

This is a scent that has whirls and eddies of emotive notes. It smells niche, a bit masculine, and has the most expressive pepper. Duchaufour describes it as being "over the edge" ending in a sea breeze. He must have been standing on a cliff edge overlooking a craggy wooded coast. It's dusk, and the sun is sitting almost beneath the horizon. Everything glows pink. Not a pastel pink, but like the ruddy pink of a sunset in a cold climate. Late fall when the air bites. Pink pepper for the pinch the air gives your cheek, the coldness of each breath. Pink woods for the darkening landscape with bare branches in low sun. Pink resins seeping out of sleeping trunks. It has the aroma of that sweet freshness that clings to your skin when you've stood somewhere like this, and been cleansed by nature. Very interesting creation for his eponymous perfume. Love it!

Ennui to the 3rd power How much are you willing to pay for an Eau de toilette and how bias is your bias? Depending on how you answer those questions will determine your opinion on Bertand's Renegade. 1st of all, I want to know what principles were betrayed with the making of this fragrance thus naming this Renegade? I understand wanting to be contrarian but what was at stake here? For me, this was the same ole soup, just reheated. This is a $200 skin scent that's green in nature with a smokey/watery nuance; that's it and that's all. Bereft are the explosions, the thunder and the Oh shit moments. For those that are not in the know, Duchaufour is arguably on the Mount Rushmore of perfumers. Expectations are a mutha! I wish i could channel my inner DHIguy99 and lead you toward this offering but.....
