Stone For Him

Some perfumes can be dissected within a couple of paragraphs. Some others are just hard to explain within several pages. Stone for Him should not be a complex fragrance. It has not been released by a high end designer with a tradition in "old school" scents. The notes are quite common and their arrangement seems to be a logic one bearing in mind that the target customers are under 25 of age. Having said that, I inform you that I have more than the double of the Replay target market age, and, judging by his comment in the statement below, so does Elysium. I love this fragrance (... and so does Elysium). It's a bit synthetic. It has some metalic harsh accords and it's not really the type of fragrance that I usualy like and wear. Nevertheless I love it, and most certainly I will buy another bottle when I finish the current one. Probably it's the sequence of a strong elemi resin top note, followed by a powerful sweet cinnamon, and "finished" by an ethereal musky accord of labdanum, amber and benzoin, that defeated my helpless logic nose. The fragrance has a magnific sweet and balsamic evolution, from head to bottom, and its resulting effect is just very very nice as far as I am concerned. This is all about cloves with amber. It's sweet but not overly sweet. Very spicy cloves (almost incense-y), well balanced amber, mild musk, intensive black peper, strong elemi resin, strong nutmeg, mild labdanum and faint cinnamon/styrax/cedar. Sillage/projection are good moderate, I'm still evaluating the longevity. If you love cloves give it a try.

This actually started out quite good, wow i was thinking finally a good one from Replay, but no i was wrong 15 minutes later the only thing i could smell was some pepper and synthetic cinnamon not very special at all.

I think this is unisex. It has three very clear stages on me, more than any other perfume I've tried. Stage 1: Really nice lemony/creamy resins with a lot of black pepper and cloves. Love! Lasts maybe an hour. Stage 2: Just cinnamon. Sweet and pleasant, but rather flat and boring. Lasts maybe an hour or two (I wasn't paying attention and it didn't really register). Stage 3: Resins resurface, but this time they're more jammy/syrupy. A much more interesting smell, but gets more and more bothersome and cloying as time goes on, and by the end of the day, although I didn't *dislike* the smell or find it unpleasant, I found it a bit headachey and irritating and really, really wanted to stop smelling it. This stage is unfortunately the longest. I don't know what to make of it, might have to try it a few more times in different weather. Projection and longevity v. good.

Good lord this fragrance is terrible. I sprayed this in the car on the way home from buying it and the passengers and I almost died. It’s the kind of thing I’d imagine alien beings might smell like, assuming, of course, that they had no noses.

It's actually a shame this was discontinued -- it was very unique and surprisingly strong for a fashion brand-type fragrance. I owned a full bottle but gifted it away swiftly, it was borderline unwearable due to its potency, so I can't say I miss it. The elemi-clove-smokey notes were just too overpowering for daily wear, even with a single spray. If you liked this and want something in the vein of it, I urge you to try Source of Life, also by Replay. It's slightly toned down and sweeter minus the smokey-incensey type notes and with candied ginger added. It's a better scent in every facet except for bottle design.

a bit darkened and a little bit more wearable version of joop! homme. still synthetic and syrupy enough. it's not as long lasting as (prereformulated) joop!, but it's not bad also, i can still smell traces of it after 5 hours. i'd buy it, it's fun.

To me this is more like Diesel zero plus masculine, than Joop homme, spicy, not to sweat, longevity is actually pretty good, 6-7h, sillage moderate, nice frag for beginners...

It's strong and unusual. Opening note is unpleasant smell of clove, after some time it turns into scent of burnt pile of wood, paper and rubber.

This smells very similar to the Cadillac fragrance from 2008.
