Jasmine Haze

I found the only stockist for Reservation fragrances in Canada. Jasmine Haze is an ultra delicate and naturalistic jasmine that opens with morning dew and innocence. The first spray gives a sacred Japanese ritualistic quality that’s very minimalist. This gentle but pure jasmine has a papery note with steamed green tea vapour. It would be perfect as a bridal scent or a Japanese culture scent where you don’t want to offend nor dominate with your fragrance. Unfortunately the longevity is only 1-2 hours maximum. The dry-down leaves a faint fountain pen ink on high quality paper nuance with a musky powder. Overall, a demure, delicate, naturalistic and ethereal almost origami style jasmine.

I thought this was a gorgeous use of jasmine sambac. There’s a slightly sweet honeyed smell coming from the honeysuckle that I really enjoyed. The tobacco and patchouli ground the fragrance but don’t overwhelm it and the musk is on the lighter side. Overall it is a very light perfume which I think fits the profile but I wanted a little more body. It sits close to the skin for the majority of the fragrance but you will get soft wafts of it here and there. Still it is a lovely perfume and I might purchase a FB in the future if after I go through my decant I fall in love with it.

A very nice application of tobacco and patchouli in a floral perfume. Lesser perfumiers would have used a heavier hand. In Jasmine Haze these notes neither disrupt nor overwhelm the front-and-centre tropical florals. Wearing it brought to mind several harsh and badly executed attempts of similar note profiles that I'm not going to name here.

Fruity and floral, with a smoky depth. I think it's very nice 8/10
