Riviera Californienne

I just picked up a sample of this as part of the ZGO July Discovery Sample Pack and I have to say... I really love it! It is coffee, amber, tonka. There are many more listed notes on the Reservation website but my (unsophisticated) nose picks up mostly these. It feels truly unique. Fully unisex. I can't stop smelling my wrist. It's worth checking out. Unfortunalty, it only comes in a 100ml bottle. I really wish perfume houses would offer 50 ml and travel sizes more often. Some do, but most don't - to their detriment. I don't understand their reticence. I have many perfumes and don't need 100ml of everything, especially a perfume that costs $280. But I would pay $150 for a 50 ml. I truly believe that many niche houses in particular are really limiting their reach and, as such their profits, by refusing to sell in smaller quantities. Sorry for the soapbox.

This perfume is top notch. It has a bit of bergamot, some nuttiness, definitely some coffee. Pretty unique to my nose. It feels very upscale. Fairly long lasting on skin. Lasts on clothes forever. I'm really enjoying my sample in the summer - more for evening this time of year. I'm thinking of springing for a bottle to see how it evolves in the fall and winter. I am only hesitating because it's only sold as 100ml. Edit: Just looking at the reviews here and realized that I did 2. ;-) Edit #2 - I bought the bottle ;-) Edit #3 - I haven't worn this much in the winter. So far, I've liked it best on summer evenings at the beach. I'll break it out again this spring and see how it feels.

This is really, really good. Completely unisex. Fall/winter. Riviera Californienne is like the delicious homemade casserole that your great aunt used to bring to family holiday parties .... a bunch of seemingly unrelated, incongruous ingredients baked in a dish with love that inexplicably come together in harmony to create the most unique, rich and delicious creation you have ever tasted. Riviera Californienne is bits and pieces of a citrus freshie, gourmand, oriental, amber, wood, aquatic marine and aromatic fragrance all baked together into one fragrance casserole. It’s fantastic. It’s unique. Excellent longevity. I love ❤️ it. 9.5/10 and a Fragrantica score of 4.55 from me.

Oh wow! I am hooooked! I don’t like loud fragrances, gives me an old lady vibe, nothing wrong with that, I just don’t feel like one, well, not yet xd. I love this fragrance, I am smelling it all day long, longevity is ok, could be better bcuz I like it so much. I go to the niche perfume store and spend there hours smelling testing thinking. I tried A LOT, many hype frags etc, but, this one was a winner. This is my new signature. I like to spray it generously and then layer it with a tiny spray of Althair and wow, such a cool combo. Love love love.

When I see the name of the perfumer Yann Vasnier you know it's gonna be good! This smells like sitting at a beach lounge cafe , drinking espresso. It's fresh , dry woody with some coffee and amber notes. Playful yet interesting fragrance. Very versatile all year round fragrance. I Love it! Too bad this fragrance line is so under the radar , it should get more hype! The other fragrances in this line are also really well made.
