Turbulences

I miss this perfume. I believe only those who knew it in the 80s know what it’s like. Reviewers who say they tried it in recent years most definitely dealt with fakes. If they say it was a ‘vintage bottle’, it could not have survived this long. I had a left-over, which kept most of its identity for a very long time (could be even till 2000 if my memory serves me), but then expired. I found and bought a bottle online a few years ago. The packaging looked exactly the same, but the liquid inside was completely fake. Nothing like the original even remotely, and not even a fragrance, just a smelly tincture. So, it’s now a lost treasure. An extinct species. Gone forever, most likely. If someone relaunched it, it would have been some reformulated crap. If only it were the same exact formula with the same exact ingredients and the process! By the way, it was a parfum, not EDP or EDT, so it was everlasting.

love at the first sniff. Aldehydic spicy, a bit oriental touch. intens aroma that I wouldn't find in perfumes nowadays unless it is the classic scent like chanel classics or dior classics. Open up with warn spicy scent follow with aldehydic herbs it turns into a powdery musky floral scent to my skin after it dries down.The scent that I use to know back in the late 80s or early 90s in my country, what my mom n my aunties would smell when there were chit chatting and little me and my cousins will play around and wish to wear that scent one day. Not a youngsters in 2017s would wear, unless you are a vintage scent lover. A nostalgic scent that I would wear in a cold rainy weather in my hot humid country. Loving it being part of my collection.

This is one most lovely aldehyde, typical of the beginning of the 80s. I would even call it a semi-oriental spicy chypre on top: A burst of hot metal at first, over cooler greens, mint, and spice, developing further into a warmer floral (that muguet!) aromatics scent, lingering finally over a musky resin and wood base. Turbulences says it like it is: a complex rollercoaster array of late 70s early 80s classic(al) aromas that bring me back to my late teen years, way before one-dimensional gourmands and mono-syllabics took over (and rather dulled the young nose). A classic in its own right!

I have a vintage bottle of this and it is lovely but also quite odd. It starts with wood and aldehydes and a general floral scent. This lasted about 45 minutes on me. Then the magic happened. This turned into a woody spicy scent unlike any other I've smelled. It manages to be cold and spicy. The florals hold it together. It's a wonderful take on spice that isn't gourmound-y or Christmas candle-y or an oriental. It's so interesting. The longevity is quite good. I put it on yesterday afternoon. It's almost noon and I can still smell it

I was given a bottle of the parfum and loved it so much I bought a backup bottle . To me this smells like my Mom and Grandma cooking Applebutter and canning it.Sort of a warm apple-spice and floral scent . I think the rose,in combination with the carnation and white peach and spices give this impression. I'm very happy that this one works with my skin chemistry.I would agree with Kterhark about the clasification as I don't recall any Aldyhydes.

Love, love it as much as Diorella, but in different way! Amber notes are very noticeable and they are the main notes which are usually left after drydown. It's mild, -I mean strong but not overpowering, fragarance. My boyfriend was crazy about it, he said at that time that it's a best night fragrance, and Diorella is for day (I had only two parfumes at that time:)) I had parfum and EDT. Now parfume is over already, I liked it more off course.

My mom had it when I was 3. I adored it! But she gave it away(broke my heart with it, really)! Now as I found it, I ́m happy-happy-happy!!! Seems as if I got a great piece of my childhood-joy back.. Well, no idea how it would feel trying it now, but.. I didn ́t have much hope to find it again- I only remembered the waves on the bottle and colour of the box(and how special it was). And now, used the colour-search..:D

From a mini. This is the first floral aldehyde I've ever liked so much, I want a full bottle. It opens bright and cheery and dries warm, mossy, woods. It doesn't remind me of any aldehyde I've ever smelled. It's more like a floral woody chypre to me, ha!

This was included in the set of mini bottles I got today. It is a set of "Les Meilleurs Parfums de Paris". Probably a small 2.3ml, only this bottle is volatilized and only 1/5 remains. Too bad it's already volatilized, but maybe it's time to remove the aldehydes from this perfume. (Despite my interest in vintage, I find myself not fond of strong aldehydes.) From this golden liquid comes a beautiful and wonderful fragrance of the bouquet. A very elegant bouquet that is neither sour nor harsh nor flashy. I think this is probably a remnant of the middle and base notes as there is almost no change in the scent. So I probably won't get the same scent even if I beat other bottles...

My review of my vintage bottle of Turbulences. Lovely spicy hot opening, reminding me of what could be a female version of the original Old Spice. Within five minutes the spices are giving way to aldehydes, mixed with flowers. I have to admit that the aldehydes remind me that this is vintage and slightly dated per current trends. I like it for nostalgia and historical sake, but I think a modern girl wouldn't be impressed.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I sampled this today. I found a bottle as part of a "Les Meilleurs Parfums de Paris" vintage coffret. I have some unopened boxes of the parfum, and I certainly hope it smells as good as this teeny bottle. My first take on this was of a fresh floral, slightly aldehydic, with a mossy woody base. The sandalwood in particular shone through on this warm July day. I also detected something aquatic; I guessed it to be a watery flower like Cyclamen or Lotus, but I see now that what I interpreted as "water" was in fact a fresh herbal note from the mint and green notes. I don't get any caraway at all, thankfully, as I think it would be quite odd as an entrance to a floral heart. Similarly, the sage is unnoticeable to me, but surely it adds a deep, bright vibrancy to the heart of the composition. The green quality to this scent is allover herbal, and not synthetic in the least. The base is quite mossy and woody, with sandal predominating, but the floral notes, soft, powdery, and the bright herbal notes also continue on for hours. The concentration is quite strong, with longevity about 8 hours. I highly recommend this classic scent- wearable by people of any age and either sex. It is not an overly sweet scent, and me who wear such perfumes as Houbigant's Duc de Vervins or Aramis' 900 would love this. It is also suitable for year round wear. Just delicious.

I recently had the opportunity to purchase a sample of this scent. Turbulences wasn't quite what I was expecting. I had assumed it would have a dry, mossy grass smell. This perfume still features real oakmoss in the base, though I don't see that listed as a note here. The scent actually goes on very sweet and has a long floral stage in the middle before it settles into the straw-like aroma of the base notes. If I had to sum it up in a sentence, I would describe Turbulences as a comforting sweet floral on a bed of straw. Nice, even if not quite what I expected. Although the scent is discontinued (at least in the U.S.), there is plenty of it around. The parfum concentration is easily found online for a very good price and has incredible staying power. A single application lasts a good 12+ hours.

If that top note is caraway, ...then its caraway done right. Turbulences, ...? So strangely intriguing, in name, bottle, and scent. Yes there are a lot of aromatic herbs and spices at play here, ...but they're all laid out upon a thick, yummy bed of flowers. Caraway? nutmeg? those 'green notessomethingmis giving a sophisticated bitterness to this, Its the kind that draws one in, not repels away. This is really nice, ...emotions well up. Too many have forgotten, take pride in being among the few that still know.

One of the French perfumes that we could find in old USSR, where were not that many foreign goods available. I remember climat, sikkim, jai`ose, magie noire, fiji, clear and turbulence. They all smelled magnificent and floral, now days these frags are hard to find, too bad, i would like to go back and smell them again. Update, just got a new bottle of perfume on ebay, still smells good, but very reformulated, cant even recognize it.

There are three notes here that you'll want to approach with awareness: Caraway, nutmeg and sage. These are specific ingredients that can only be pulled off by specific chemistries, and mine isn't one of them. I wouldn't call this a floral aldehyde but an oriental floral spicy. I'd say it is an OK, generic scent, certainly not garish. But on me it's not my genre, so I can't say much more.

After several minutes, it settles down into something along the lines of Aramis Herbal 900, though this one is smoother and softer. I used 2 sprays to the chest. Nicely done if you like this composition and can get it at a low price.

A fragrance of my childhood.My mother wore it when I was a little girl.I still remember this sweet delicate elegant smell, I like it and I miss it, though now I wouldn't wear this fragrance.A turbulent perfume of the past:)))

I remember my Grandmother wearing this when I was young. A family member brought it back from France. Until recently was she not able to get it in the States. I recall it smelling similar to Chanel #5

This is my favorite perfume when I was teenager, but I can't find it anywhere now in Indonesia. Is it discontinued?

Can't wait to get that glittery plastic cap in my hand! I love 80's bottles! 😊
